  1. Cropping is a rather common practice with re-releases and I don't really have a problem with it if done well, though with a release like this it seems rather jarring not to have the option to switch back to 3:4, or to be able to move the art up and down at the very least. If most console re-releases can do this (most notably ont he Vita), I don't see why this can't. Cropping aside, the way they deal with this is shitty to say the least.
  2. 「どんな格好でかかってきても勃起度数0パーセントだぜ、オイ! だいたい俺様はロリだと逆勃起っていうか、 体内に向かって伸びて口から出る勢いでもう……」

  3. Finished re-reading Kara no Shoujo yesterday, this time with a guide to get the things I missed the first time around. Replaying the VN just made the flaws come out even more unfortunately, and I had to go lower my vndb score a bit (to 8, though that might still be being too nice). Overall there are some amazing moments, and the system is extremely enjoyable when it works (not when it requires you to go to a specific place in a specific time to get the true ending, with no hints whatsoever), but the open ending, the horridly random h-scenes, the main heroine that is honestly more annoying than likeable and some of the absolutely unfair triggers really do take away from the experience a lot. I also had a good laugh to see the writer with such a hard-on for kanji make a very simple mistake in his own writing, but to his credit I noticed it only twice. I'll probably continue NatsuKumo now, the KnS2 sequel doesn't really start in a way that'd make me want to jump in immediately. Also started KnS2 yesterday, and after seeing wwhere it goes I had pretty much the same reaction. Not sure if I want to continue with it right away or do something different first.
  4. I looked at it it sounds really interesting, does it have something to do with the Full Alchemist series? It kinda sounds like it. Nope, it is loosely based on real history. It's one of the best visual novels out there though, I really hope the translation happens eventually so more people can read it.
  5. Well, I haven't posted here in quite some time, so here, have some DDON OST.
  6. Finished SOMA recently. Loved the game, it might possibly even be my game of the year - though admittedly a lot of that is caused by the story themes being really fucking cool. Other than that I am slowly making my way through Yakuza 0, (combat and bosses are badass as ever, and the side missions are also keeping their super goofy standards, very satisfied so far) and messing around in Dragon's Dogma Online here and there. The newly added abilities are pretty damn rad, feels good to be able to run the (previously) end-game areas just with my two main pawns alone.
  7. Welcome to Fuwanovel! Maybe with the Witch of Miracles amongst our ranks, we will get that Muramasa translation eventually. If we do, you should definitely give it a read! Who am I kidding.
  8. VNDS interpreter is good, I read Ever17 with that - but unless someone uploaded the VNs already converted, you will still have to download the original VNs on your laptop and convert them there. Probably not ideal since it's being monitored (?). If you can find the already converted ones though, definitely give it a shot.
  9. Yeah. The mechanic does make perfect sense, it is just the fact that it automatically forces you out if you accidentally click the wrong trigger that's a problem. You know it's pretty bad when the first suggestion after typing 殻ノ少女 攻略 into Google is 何かの切れ端. Still a very fun system save for that little thing, I'm really looking forward to getting stuck in a bad end hell in KnS2. Glad to hear they improved it at least a little bit, it might really be all it needed.

Ryu wrote a number of things. Amongst the countless releases of Higurashi, you also have Umineko, Higanbana, Rose Guns Days and the upcoming Iwaihime and Trianthology. He also took part in writing Rewrite (plus the fandisc) and Ookamikakushi... and that's about it, I think? Higurashi and Umineko are by far his best works, though if you like his unique style the rest might be worth checking out as well.
  11. For untranslated Muramasa has probably the most satisfying endings you will find in any visual novel. For translated... hm, you could probably go for something like Steins;Gate, they wrap up things nicely. Euphoria also has a very satisfying true route, though that's definitely not a VN for everyone.
  12. I make up for it at night. Easier to catch up with people too that way because of spooky timezones. Thanks Japan.
  13. no ithas to be BREAKFAST. You understand right, Voko? Well it is the first thing I eat in the day. Then don't wake up at 1:00 PM. 1 PM? Don't worry, I would never wakeup at a time like that. I woke up at 3 PM today.

  15. So I finally broke ans started going through Kara no Shoujo with a walkthrough to get everything before I move onto the second one... and there appears to be quite some stuff I've missed. The flag system in this VN is ridiculous, I had no idea some of those branches even existed. Really hoping it is less opaque in the second one, but at the same time I don't want them to dumb it down too much. all this would really take is get rid of the invisible triggers that screw you over simply by clicking on something in the wrong order, and maybe go a bit lighter on the map movement...
  16. On PSP/Vita, VNs are usually retail price save for older titles.
  17. Ayana? Are you guys in the SubaHibi schol? ...how come I'm not in too?
  18. I eat lunch instead of breakfast, sometimes right after I wake up.... does that count?

Welcome! Don't be discouraged by Rooke's hate and continue praising the God of "Fuck the rules!" writing style.
  20. I also read KnS first, and now I am re-reading KnS again and Cartagra still lies untouched. (´・ω・`)
  21. No joke, only srs bzns. It's not like we're on a site where certain people would go as far as to learn Japanese just to read more weeb shit. Now that'd be pretty dumb, huh? Hahaha... haha... !
  22. >Location: Czech Republic ABANDON SHIP!
  23. Same guy who did this My soul.... it burns in cute flames
  24. H-hey, that looks like I'm the biggest weaboo or something! W... who photoshopped the screenshot?!
  25. You've been playing that for like two months at this point I would love to play it on Vita too, but no Fapanese. 2 months... haha, I am "playing" Sui all the way back from its launch, which was in Mach. Though to be fair I mostly just read it during my commuting times, and I tend to take huge breaks between the arcs (sometimes months), so the actual play time is "only" about 150 hours so far. I might even finish it before I die, if I'm lucky...
