  1. Now this is literally the galaxy brain level thinking. Outside of the few questionable choices the translation looks fine though. Not that I seriously compared it to japanese.
  2. Like this one thread tries to? I'm not really sure why they have suddenly become the target number one after a minor misstep which is in no small part a result of valve's crazy and unexpected decisions. I'll look at you when you are at risk of losing most of your sales because of a random number generator. And instead of support they get aggresive trolling (?) for... Postponing the announcements for a bit? Delaying a game for a month? Asking their customers on their opinion about kickstarting physical releases since earlier they criticized the over-reliance on KS of the several companies? Am I reading this right? Yeah, they are much worse than Sekai, JAST, MG etc. That much is clear. As for announcements, I have a weird feeling one of them is Riddle Joker. Which would disappoint me, though it would be fun if they release their second Yuzusoft game before Sekai musters even one of the three they announced god knows when already.
  3. Still not as bad. There are mistakes that are obvious and glaring but you can notice those and ignore, they don't make much impact on your reading, only leave a bad aftertaste. And then there's the duuuuuuuuuuudeeeeeeeeee which is so wacky, bizarre and ridiculous that it literally breaks your immersion. Every time. It may not be as big of a mistake as many others but it still hinders your experience the most. (I'm not counting the straight-up inane or machine translations, those are in the league of their own)
  4. Haha, god, I'm absolutely sure that "dude" is one of the worst localization choices in eroge history. He didn't even bother to replace it in H-scenes, I truly feel like he just didn't care for SukiSuki and wanted the game to be "meme"-like for fun. Noone sane would leave dude even in H-scenes otherwise. Now he looks at everyone and laughs like there's no tomorrow, the prank has worked well. It's especially weird because I read it for a bit and otherwise the translation seems mostly fine. Maybe he hated working on it so much that "dude"-ing was the only way to keep himself motivated. It's so ridiculously funny that it's hard to be angry at the dude.
  5. Ouch, the translation is... Really questionable to the point it's hard to progress through the script sometimes. The textbook example of a "wannabe professional" who heard some things but the implementation is, well, often painful. Like I usually see what they wanted to do but the result feels like they cared less about the product and more about being cool kids professional translators. I do hope it's simply their first work, but I'm now extremely worried about Nukitashi.
  6. Eh, I'd argue that in our world bigger sales almost never imply better translations, for various reasons...
  7. Nah, I'd stake my hat that they are simply silly jerks. There's literally no sense in censoring japanese-only games because of China, it doesn't work like that.
  8. I have been asking around recently and people tell that it's neither all that good nor all that bad. Hope I'll have time for it sooner or later, wanted to try out this Yuzusoft thing for a while now.
  9. you can't really do that if it's censored during the initial deelopment
  10. Oh, hey, I'm pretty interested in, like, half of the announcements, good job Sol, didn't expect it from them. It's especially nice to see new companies like Sol and NekoNyan now, when the original holy trio's projects aren't... as exciting as before because of various reasons. Though I do wonder if Decay as an editor can handle something like Nukitashi, did someone read his Sanoba Witch? Should we be worried?
  11. Huh, looks like it will hit the goal after all, color me slightly shocked. I may have underestimated the long arms of the gameplay eroge.
  12. Ah, so it's the aftermath of that Telegram mess. Well, vndb is now working as normal again so maybe fuwa will be just as randomly unbanned sooner or later too.
  13. There's no way in heaven or hell they'll reach that crazy goal. I'm amused they've even decided to try.
  14. Gosh, I wish I didn't read this topic. Everybody knows that Nier is almost a denpa-boy himself but most still entertain his insanity without any real doubt or discussion. The amount of disinformation and pointless gloom is staggering here.
  15. Not at all, he is just very busy and hence translates, well, slowly. Which saddens me immensely when MG sometimes gives him games that are pretty long like Da Capo 3. Just like every decent business also usually has release windows and timeframes, not simply announcing release dates a month or several weeks prior, you are completely missing the point. I'm also tired of repeating that I'm not hating on MG, people always react painfully at these small personal opinions concerning the company. I love MG for what they've done for the scene and won't start hating on them without a reason even if someday they'll end up completely disregarding plotge/eroge in favor of nukige, otome, yuri and BL.
  16. Heh, would definitely love to see those for games like Bokuten or Maggot Baits. Assinging Kouryuu to translate something should be considered a crime by now. Either way, with MG it's impossible to know anything for sure so any other suggestions would be just as big of an assumption as mine. I have an inkling they only have a schedule for the more or less ready releases so they can set the aforementioned 1-big-game-a-month release pace and everything else is basically "when it's done". It's not that hard to simply stall a few finished games for that if needed. Not to mention that things like "internal-only schedules" scream of endless delays and lack of decent planning by default, they don't exist because life is good and aren't really widespread outside western vn-publishers.
  17. They have no timeline for anything whatsoever which often make their release pace messy and unpredictable. They give the longest games to the slowest translator who is way too busy with organizational issues, they completely separate in turns translation, tech work and QA so there's a huge bottleneck and noone has any idea when anything is going to release even when the translation and editing are finished ages ago etc. They are not nearly as bad as JAST and Sekai in that regard, but MG often suffers from organizational issues all the same, we are just used to it by now and take it for granted.
  18. Actually, for some they already are, if you look at the discussions, especially after MG's "big shift" away from the galge market in recent years. It's probably too soon to say this but I'm also surprised that I feel like they are quickly becoming one of the best contenders on the market. Tight release schedule, actual release windows with which they seem to follow through, good announcements. I wasn't terribly excited about the first batch but Hello Lady and AoKana are as top-tier as it gets, save for something like FSN, KKK or SnU. Plus NekoNyan, despite the excessively silly name, seem like literally the only eroge localization company to plan things through. Hopefully they can keep it up, sell well and deliver.
  19. I personally find MG's otakon announcements to be fairly disappointing, but I'm somewhat used to that already. Byakko is nice though, especially since we haven't had a real plotge/galge announcement from MG for more than a year. People do say that Hanno Shuusei is a decent writer.
  20. I'm definitely interested in AI, YU-NO, Death Mark, Totono and Harumade Kururu so basically everyone outside MG and Frontwing is a winner? lol
  21. They don't belong to Nitro+ so... nothing?
  22. Guys, don't get hysterical over my post. It is pretty buffling not to get a single decent non-nukige/-yuri/yaoi/-otome announcement at like... fifth (?) con in a row, while MG reveals plenty of yuri/yaoi and even one or two otome at the same timeframe, but everything has clearly been said in jest. I do understand their desire to diversify their catalogue, especially since the aforementioned stuff often sells better, I was just honestly expecting them to finally throw a bone or two for the old time's sake at least at their biggest con like at AX 2017. Especially since last year's Otakon was exactly the same: yuri, yaoi and Rance.
  23. Wait, wasn't the third game extremely important for the series finale? Why did we suddenly skip its remake?
  24. Only one proper eroge announcement and it's Rance. And then Rance again. Not sure if I have ever been more disappointed in MG. Are they snubbing their fans or something? Nay, you are wrong. The deal between Nitro+ and JAST is exactly the only known case of "western publisher exclusivity" or at least was widely marketed as such. Every contract is unique so you can't really say that there's no such thing simply because Innocent Gray or Purple Soft have no exclusive partner. But, well, sooner or later that contract should expire, I hope...
  25. Surprisingly good panel from Denpa, surprisingly void from Frontwing Int. Kind of feels like they are on their last legs and are trying to space out their releases as much possible to cut losses. Great to see confirmation on YU-NO, though I'm seriously upset about the vita-version, real pity that Spike Chunsoft forced PQube to give up the license. AI reveal didn't leave any impression on me, not to mention how my faith in Uchikoshi is undermined by ZTD and Punchline anime, but I'll still check it out. As if I have a choice. Still depressed that Nitro+ can't share their licenses with other major players on the western VN market. Translations of their games are mistreated so badly just because Nitro+ was one of the first JP VN publishers to officially enter the western market. DEPRESSING.
