Yeah Tick! Tack! is nerrine's after route. I am currently reading it, and I think its awesome so far, though I havent gotten far into it as Princess Evangile keeps stealing my reading time. Havent gotten around to really really yet but I'll read it once I'm done with Tick tack (Mayumi is so awesome, she definitely deserves her own fan disk route!)

Well if you want something light and funny with nekos thats translated Nekopara https://vndb.org/v15538 fits the requirements quite perfectly EDIT: Been wanting to do that one but was also looking for recommendations from the more hidden or not so well known ones too, though i will get Nekopara no doubt...it's Moe factor is off the charts : D Its a good, light read. Very enjoyable. As for more hidden titles, I cant really help much there. Still havent read all that much myself. Wait for the senpais to get here You did say you were open for any genres, so I will throw a bit more moe mixed with some yuri your way. Not exactly a "great" title, but hey, if you ever feel like reading something "different" it might be something worth considering. Its short and cute. https://vndb.org/v13839 (Thank nosebleed for the english patch for this one)

Opinions differ. I personally love shuffle! I think the anime is great as well, though the VN is def the best. It has lovable characters, good humor and a very enjoyable overall setting. (Its also the VN that has the best and most user friendly interface in my opinion, though thats not exactly the main reason to play a VN.) That being said, it has its drawbacks. For one, its extremly predictable. A lot of pople are interested in story and when a story is predictable and doesnt really leave a strong impact then they get turned away from the title. This is especially the case for the dramatic segments of shuffle! They are resolved a little too easy and a little too fast for some people. Also, the VN is slightly old so not everyone love the art style of it. For me personaly this is not a problem. I think the light atmosphere in the game is a good thing as when things get too dramatic I just find it annoying.

If My heart had wings CG selection problem?
Dergonu replied to JoshB2084's topic in Voluntary Tech Support
Well I dont know anything technical about it, but I personally dont have the problem. I can view all CGs just fine. Might be for naught, but maybe try re-installing the patch? Seeing as it does happen for some but not all, maybe that could have an effect? One factor that might also have something to do with it is that I'm running the game on windows 7. I know a lot of people run into issues with windows 8/8.1. -
Ok im sorry for kind of randomly bumping this even though it was answered but ... its a thread about norway and being like one of the only norwegians on this forum I have to say YAAY! Erhem. So yeah 2PM is 14:00. And our time zone is GMT. And no, we do not have polar bears walking around in the streets. (Seriously... some people think that.)

Government trolling sites like kickstarter
Dergonu replied to Dark_blade64's topic in General Discussion
Well there you go sekai project. Feel like doing something outside kickstarter for once now? In all seriousness though, this sounds like it could cause some rage from developers. Interested in a source as well, if you can find it. -
Oddly enough I'm not against helping out in small doses - just this month I donated $40 to someone on Twitter to help with his cat's medical procedure. What VN are we talking? Maybe I can start a fund. Kara no shoujo Nah onii-chan you shold save it for the cats. There are still many cats in need of medical care out there! Go save them! TO THE CATMOBILE!

Think shuffle will fit your tastes. It has good comedy, romance and is a fairly light but enjoyable eroge. There is dramatic segments in each of the heroines routes, though its nothing overboard.

ah what? Thats a real bummer... Been looking forward to this.

Miagete Goran, Yozora no Hoshi wo (見上げてごらん、夜空の星を)
Dergonu replied to Hayashi's topic in Visual Novel Talk
yeah. Uggghh I hope it arrives during my winter break so I'll actually have some time to read it. Its been shipped though who knows how long it will take, with it being christmas and all. Especially for me in Europe. -
What is the one trait that makes you instantly like a heroine?
Dergonu replied to Dergonu's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Oh and I love kinda clumsy and weird but lovable characters like Motoka: https://vndb.org/c557 -
So everyone has that one thing that makes them go "hell yes!" when they see a heroine in a VN has it. Be it a hairstyle, a speech pattern, a personality type, whatever. Basically that one thing that makes you ignore the rest of the girls in the VN just so you can get into the one route. Primarily talking about traits a heroine can have, though feel free to mention general traits from VNDB. Personally I am a complete sucker for twintals. (Preferably pink. No idea why.) Also tsundere is love, tsundere is life Whenever a slightly younger girl calls the MC for First name-nii, my heart melts Onee-san characters never fail Lastly, for some reason I love it when female characters refer to themselves as boku. What is that trait(s) for you?
-
So, tsunderes Hehe, well it seems a lot of people doesn't like this, though the overall impression I got from the summary and the general setting I think I would like it so I´ll add it to my list and give it a go eventually. The engrish isn't really a problem for me, (I read grisaia no Meiykuu with nothing but bad machine translations. No furigana or anything. Literally felt like dying at certain parts.)
-
Are we talking punches to the face followed his head dunked in a toilet bowl here or is it your standard verbal abuse because they secretly love him but dont want him to know that?
-
Well I´m not Finnish but its always cool to see patches made for different languages than just the normal mainstream ones. Cool stuff Now, just to pray for the day I see a norwegian patch for a VN. That would be cool. (Though in all honestly I prefer reading in english as Norwegian is a boring language.)

W-Whoa... that is awesome! Great art. You are really talented!

So I made a database website for visual novel patches and mods.
Dergonu replied to Sakamoto's topic in Visual Novel Talk
If you can manage to keep the patch links up and keep informative instructions on how to install each patch / what their purpose is, I think this can definitely become a hit. I know for some game franchises like SonoHana the creators are dead set on removing the translation patches because they hope that the rest of the series will be licensed. I dont know if this will pose any legal problems or not for the site if you end up uploading those patches. -
So I made a database website for visual novel patches and mods.
Dergonu replied to Sakamoto's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Uh well the first thing I would say is add a search function so its easier to find novels. Also maybe consider making a list for each letter instead of "A-F". That way its even easier to navigate. Is this meant to have all available translated novels + patches? If so its seriously lacking at the moment. (Although it is in beta, so that might not be that surprising.) Other than that, it looks pretty good. It sounds like a decent idea. Its nothing you cant find at lets say VNDB, (although they dont list all patches, they link you to the main site of the translators where you can find that info.) That being said, having one site specifically for this stuff might be a good idea indeed. -
Nothing but tsundere girls abusing the MC? Oh I am SO reading this!

So much kawaiiness. I need them all! Think thats enough untranslated ones to last me a couple of decades, so if anyone else has some more, translated only pwease

Radical visual novel ideas.... Share them here!
Dergonu replied to CeruleanGamer's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Oh my God, this idea is amazing! It sounds like the most annoying and entertaining thing ever at the same time! And geez this thread is giving me nightmares, just FYI. -
Yeah, pretty much what Sanahtlig said. I personally also try to consider the context when I try to make sense of the sentence in question. If there is a particular word/part of the sentence I cant really make much sense off I try to read the entire thing one more time, (having translated the parts I can), and look at the context to try and make sense of it. Going forward a line or two and back to see if those parts will help in understanding the sentence in question is not a bad idea. Although one sentence is very rarely critical, there is always that one line that actually does matter a great deal. And if you do end up ignoring one, you might lose some information regarding the situation, and the next line might make less sense because of it. Of course, you also dont want to spend too long tinkling with just one line either. It can be a little bit difficult to get into the gist of it. I myself still haven't read too many untranslated novels, but I feel fairly confident with my method now. It was not obvious from reading your post so I am going to ask as well, are you using a text hooker to translate the text? Or do you actually manually look up individual phrase/word/kanji? If so, text hookers will change your life.

What makes Grisaia no Kajitsu so great?
Dergonu replied to starlessn1ght's topic in Visual Novel Talk
I disagree. Her clairvoyance extends heavily into "impossible" territory. She didn't just see how things would generally turn out, she predicted every last detail. My complaint wasn't one about realism, but the message it sends. If Kazuki was less perfect, then the VN couldn't deliver its message on determinism. I merely wanted to state that everything she does can at least be explained as possible in the real world. It was not really intended directly against what you said earlier. I actually do agree to a lot of those points. But I felt that some people were trying to imply that the VN isn't as enjoyable because of the impossibility of her actions, which I feel isn't really justifiable. Like I said, I wouldn't have minded a less "extreme" version of Kazuki myself. The VN is indeed built quite strongly around the acts that Kazuki makes during angelic howl and what Yuuji does regarding the girls in Mihama and the "requirement" to return to normality. These factors do send a little bit of an iffy message overall, though for me it doesn't lower the quality of the VN in any big way. Opinions will always differ after all. -
What makes Grisaia no Kajitsu so great?
Dergonu replied to starlessn1ght's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Well just to poke a few sticks in the wheels here, I would just like to point out that the things that are seemingly "impossible" with Kazuki is actually not impsosible at all. I already talked about her "psychic" ability earlier. (Its basic psychology to predict a human beings' actions.) And for her memory, that as well is actually completely possible. In fact, I can personally do something quite similar myself. Its a mental exercise that just requires practice. Of course, memorizing entire books is not exactly easy, but if you have a photgraphic memory or simply "trained" your memory for a long time its not impossible. Those factors taken into account mixed with the fact that we know she has an incredibly high IQ, (once again, not impossible), its not hard to believe that she would act like she did in the VN. Not saying that I wouldn't have minded a little bit of a died down version of her myself, but for the people stating its not enjoyable because its simply not possible, thats not actually true. (Also, everyone knows that turkey's make for great plane engine-stoppers!)
