I wish I had realized this earlier like back in 2015 where I though VN companies would be happy to release their VNs in the west This is just wishful thinking. I gave up on this mindset already. It's either we have to rely on fan translations or we have to learn Japanese as Narcosis said.

That is a reason why I want more companies, but also more exposure for your VN and your company if you bring your content over to the West.

The title says it all. What are your guys' opinions on this issue? As we all know, some VN studios are still not willing to release their content in the West, which sucks to see in this day where translating companies are getting bigger and bigger. True, a lot of companies have opened up to this idea. Key is a major one, releasing Harmonia, their next VN release, in a simultaneous release in Japan and the West. This is the type of mindset I'd like to see from more VN companies, not to the extent of what Key are doing, but thinking of the west more. Let's hear your opinions

It'd be awesome if the Kyonyuu Fantasy series got picked up. Then I'd stop pestering @Arcadeotic to translate Kyonyuu Fantasy.

Probably because Masada didn't work on Silverio. People praise SakuUta because of Sca-Ji while Silverio gets overlooked because whenever people vote on this tournament, if they see a Sca-Ji or a Masada VN, they'll vote for it. It is quite sad to see that Silverio won't make it further while AkaGoei which I don't have any particular interest in passes. Oh well, SakuUta has barely a chance of winning anyways with Muramasa and Dies Irae still in the tournament.

Exactly. A cliche setting doesn't automatically mean it sucks. That's a stupid way to think. Kara No Shoujo is your typical mystery novel in VN form, yet it's a great story. Like Decay said, a lot of those masterpieces of VNs have cliche settings as well.

It may just be blind Sca-Ji fanboys who fap to him every night It's probably just that it's a good VN. VN readers are not stupid enough to rate shit like Ikikoi so high.

G Senjou No Maou not having an 18+ release is all SP's fault though. MangaGamer is good with releasing full 18+ versions of VNs even if they are on Steam.

We all know what Sekai Project would do with Baldr Sky. I still have problems with Sekai Project over the Root Double KS and I think MangaGamer is the best company when it comes to translating VNs and bringing them to the west, but after hearing that, I can't trust either with awesome VNs that don't have the attention like Clannad did. Hopefully MangaGamer can actually pick up these titles because I'd like to see them over here.

Classic Mangagamer. I hope they can actually get the licensing for Baldr Sky and those other titles we voted.

Based on all these votes, I'm thinking we have a lot of Baldr Sky fans. MangaGamer should capitalize on it.

I had to choose out of 30 titles I really wanted. I'm probably too greedy considering it takes a while to translate. I ended up picking White Album 2, Dies Irae, and ChuSinGura 46+1, but there are so many titles I want

I think you're a little too hopeful. People will only increase their pledge if they're somewhat near the stretch goal, which the Kickstarter is far from it at the moment.

Even if it barely makes it, it still made it. A lot of us thought this Kickstarter would never even get near the funding goal.

I'm glad to see Eustia winning even though it's one of the most popular titles in this first round.

Everybody knows that we only get fresh air is when we open our front door...to pick up our package for our anime figurines. Also, congrats on improving the Kickstarter. It looks like it's gonna make it now. Can't wait to play it when it comes out, if it comes out.

I vote for Eustia because I've been wanting to play it for a couple of years now. Not that this tournament will determine if I play it, but I want it to advance.

I'd like an 18+ version on Aselia. I don't feel the need to play 50+ hours of content without any hentai to keep me interested.
