  1. Call it what you will, this is unacceptable in a MoeNovel way. I hear that Chrono Clock continued their "work ethos", so we know what to expect about future Mikandi too. Also, about "shady" -what do you think about the 18+ patch issue?
  2. Really? I thought that Mikandi dug their own grave, as in, their shady antics with this game will make people distrust future releases. Much in a MoeNovel way.
  3. "Two can play at that game" ---> "I'm gonna do the same to you".
  4. We need to dissociate here between the VN proper and the terrible translation. Likewise I like Konosora as a VN a lot, it definitely didn't deserve the butchering. Konosora's H scenes were probably cookie-cutter as VNDB suggests, but its slice of life, the characters and their chemistry are pretty good. The whole VN gives off a cozy impression. However shit happened and fate conspired to bring us these VNs in a terrible state.
  5. Most people don't know that the seasons are reversed between hemispheres. It's astronomy.
  6. If the TL is improved I will consider getting the game, even if it will cost me a fortune because of the extra 18+ patch sold separately. The game definitely seems worth it. For the moment I'll leave sleeping dogs lie. There are lots of other games that deserve more to be supported.
  7. I bet there's some abnormality going on, but if you want to have summer in December, just set the game on the Southern Hemisphere I guess. Dropping off the boat, not gonna read another generic eroge for the moment. Not for $35.
  8. Please don't talk about piracy. I regret that my previous post caused this. It was only a comment to give a thought about a possible solution to this deadlock. Even as much as sharing the patch is illegal.
  9. This may be downright illegal, but anyway, maybe the good people will share the patch on the interwebz.
  10. I was surprised to learn that the Steam version of Libra of the Vampire Princess asks for 3 gigs of RAM on a 64-bit system. Only 1,5 on 32-bit, but it seems a little too much. I hope the game is gorgeous at the very least.
  11. Out on Steam now. 30+ bucks. The 18+ patch seems already available, according to VNDB, but it asks for a login at Mikandi's page, I guess. Any help?
  12. Run of the mill eroge, or not?
  13. I guess he likes slice of life indeed, just not vulgar slice of life.
  14. I suppose you like nakige? You have a lot of Key titles there. Which I'd recommend leaving for later for the sake of maximising the number of games played, games like Little Busters or Clannad are very time-intensive. That's not bad, but it's a problem when you set a schedule and need to play the maximum number of games.
  15. You have to make do with quasi-cycling novels such as Kira Kira with "Happy cycle mania" and Konosora with his ex-cyclist protag.
  16. Fingers crossed, though half the people interested in it will have already left the boat. Edit June 20th: Roughly 2 hours left of the day here, and no sign of it. I know the releases are America-based but it doesn't look like happening.
  17. If I hadn't read the base game already, maybe I'd back it up, though I dislike all things Kickstarter.
  18. If you have doubts, what will become of us worthless plebs??
  19. You can use Linux as a powerful base system. It has niceties not available in Windows, like virtual desktops, THE CONSOLE, software manager (installing software is dead easy), etc. You'll still need Windows software (those VNs), so you have Wine or, as an alternative to VMWare, VirtualBox, which is easy to use and never gave me a problem. I don't know about the VNs that need Japanese locale and that's a problem, but with virtual machine you can do it. However I played Yume Miru Kusuri on a Linux Mint with Wine back in 2015 and it never gave a problem. If you like Mint I'd suggest keeping with it. It's one of the best distros and the most popular. Linux Mint supports Steam on its repositories, BUT not every game available for Windows is available for Linux. So I guess you'll be using your virtual machine a lot and why Linux then? Linux gaming works better with GOG, because you can switch to a native Linux version of the game (I don't know though if they like more Red Hat-based or Debian-based). Photoshop is a problem, I haven't tested it but I hear it's one of the last bulwarks of proprietary software still not available for Linux.
  20. Malwarebytes. The technicians themselves recommend it.
  21. In Kimi ga Nozomu Eien, the couple is there from the beginning, but they have to deal with a lot of drama, because spoilers. Probably not what you're looking for, but decent anime.
  22. You read Euphoria because a lot of people talked about it? Well, there's that. Curiosity is natural.
  23. Just play the H scenes when you know you're fully alone. Euphoria at least is pretty clear about when the "action" is gonna begin, so there's that. I'd also be embarrassed if people knew about my fetishes, but in this case it's worse, since you're not even into that shit (nor am I).
  24. Uhhh, yes, Karakara is bad indeed... now I get how it was put into the lowest-tier Sekai bundle...
  25. I certainly wouldn't feel bad about your processor: https://ark.intel.com/products/53445/Intel-Core-i5-2310-Processor-6M-Cache-up-to-3_20-GHz Released in 2011, so not new nor old, Sandy Bridge is a good architecture I think. 32 nanometers, it's close to current-gen consoles' processors (which are very outdated, though) and as a curious fact, it's half the size of the Xbox 360's architecture. You have adequate RAM to run Windows 10 and a decent graphics card I'd say. You can run safely most VNs but like I said I'd draw the line around 2014. Keep in mind most content in VNs is static and there's little animations and general motion, so they aren't really very demanding.
