  1. Best approach (if you don't want to buy the actual console, that is) is to wait several years, and everything will become available at some point. I've been waiting like forever for the translation to Amagami, disadvantages of not knowing Fapanese! Of course, the downside is that probably within some years you'll want to play some other games, so there's that
  2. Looking good. I just hope this isn't another run-of-the-mill eroge.
  3. You need a scale of priorities, and you need to organise yourself when consuming media, pretty much. If I feel like taking a walk, not even all the manga/VN/anything in the world can stop me. Imagine if I had a girlfriend to hang out with! (I've already had those) To make a free quote, "more than a jewel, love lights up everything" (Nadia: the Secret of Blue Water).
  4. Seems antinatural, as most VNs are aimed towards a specific audience (either men or women), and feature routes to please that audience. Also to have actual romance your protag should be bi, and that's too much for now (unless it's OELVN), otherwise you have the bad endings where you wind up with your pal, or the joke routes that are pretty much the same. Another one, deIz by Mike Einel, you have a best pal ending (among a big variety), but I recall it was a "resignation" ending in which you play videogames with him and all that, because you missed any and all significant relationships.
  5. I wish Hatsusaku was in English. Maybe I'll learn proper Japanese some day, and play it.
  6. I'm looking forward to Summer Pockets. But I don't know when I can actually play it, I have a backlog of over 50 games until 2020. Plus anime, plus novels... I'm drowning in a pit of nerdiness.
  7. That's from back when I was an adolescent, but, I don't even award it a passing grade.
  8. One full of weirdos, where main girl is a redhair who always wears a frown, and is a tsundere except no, she isn't, because main guy keeps trashing her time and time again... the rest of the story is S-P-O-I-L-E-R
  9. You probably couldn't tell which one I'd save. Not in a million years, I bet. It's also deserving of a 10/10, for me.
  10. I don't know anything about your whereabouts, but, while it's good you have a bf (or that is what I inferred), you need... well... some kind of social life. Other weirdos like you around you. Got it? The classic "two-man alliance against the world" can survive a bit, but eventually you'll need to see other people (under normal circumstances). Otherwise you can become fed up with each other. Of course, all you need to do then is to find a new bf, but the fact that you have no social life remains. While I am some kind of full-fledged neckbeard, I still lived some kind of healthy life up to a point, maybe I'm at a standstill now but I've had a lot of friends and I've had adolescent fun and I've had girlfriends, been there done that. Also consider that life has its ups and downs and these occur at any given point, so maybe you're at a low but soon the situation will improve. Just keep doing things, getting interested in things, moving around your city or town, keep an open mind and a friendly attitude and you're good to go. It's foolish to assume otaku have no social life. All they need to do is to gather with some other people like them. You know... like the rest of the world does. As a person, stating your opinions, how you feel, what you think, what you like and dislike, is pretty basic to keep good health. That and some sun.
  11. Hard to say... I have done several routes and none have been very good so far (possible exception: Tomoyo but it's not really mind-boggling), so unless Clannad really surprises me with a fantastic revelation, much in a Little Busters way, it'll stay at a 6.5 rating, acceptable but not memorable. It can't be a masterpiece when such a long and dragged VN is BOUND to have good routes; otherwise it's utter shit. It would be a masterpiece if all or the majority of the routes were good and meaningful. So, I guess it won't steal the place Little Busters has in my heart: that drama, while sometimes cringey and all, it's really nice. I for one don't really understand the people who get emotional with Misae's route: it isn't that good, and it hasn't that much substance. This is just an example of the content. And yes, KyoAni's Kanon anime is the true religion
  12. What? You can't feed a picture to Google Translate.
  13. My cat goes a faint "tap tap tap" on the new floor, I don't know what material this is (it's obviously wood but I don't know what wood, besides it seems treated).
  14. Steins;Gate is one of the most dramatic and science-heavy VNs out there, and still you can have plenty laughs with most of the content. That's because they succeeded in creating a lovable cast of characters there, it's not exactly your "already seen it" typical slice of life comedy. Besides, what better way to appeal to an otaku than talking of things they love?
  15. Thanks, it's looking good!
  16. Rooke, I talked about "people being at Bioware's throat". Bioware in a time was like CD Projekt Red now, a loved and envied developer. Its old games may have caused some dissension, but it all blew up with Mass Effect 3. It isn't looking good for Bioware, but I guess they'll manage to bring in new fans and survive somehow. AAA games these days isn't a quality badge really, so they fit in perfectly.
  17. People are at Bioware's throat as old as Mass Effect 3's ending (and dialogue wheel, but that seems minor). Before that, Dragon Age 2 was a sore disappointment and a disservice to the first part. A lot of Americans are very upset with this SJW thingy, I can tell it really exists but your opinion will vary on it... As for me, I don't really give a toss. I hereby declare Bioware officially dead. They need a really big change of direction to catch my attention anymore.
  18. That's too depressing. A bit of work doesn't destroy people.
