Completed Rui wa Tomo wo Yobu. It was great, honestly many times the jokes and references went over my head. The prologue was exhausting to read but manageable. But other than that it was an awesome ride. The writing, story, comedy and characters are really nice. The circle of friends is really well made. I've seen similar stuff, but this is really well done. The focus on curses and the problems that the heronies get from those. You might connect it with Sharin no kuni and the shackles of 'obligations' which existed there. Personally I found it more connected to real life. People everyone are usually messed up one way or another. The curses make the heronies in a major messed up psychologically. Example: 'I can't make a promise about the future'. Might be compared to 'I don't want to take a serious decision about the future.' There are lot's of other thoughts I found interesting as well that came up in the vn. Honestly too many for me to write up. I can understand why some would consider this a masterpiece. I didn't enjoy it that much though. I'd prbly score it under ~9, not entirely decided on that yet. Why I won't score it better, I find it somewhat hard to put my finger on. I suppose it's because the heroine routes of the vn, wasn't really as good as the common. If it had the same quality. I'd give it max I would imagine. And the best girl in the vn was~~ As for what to read next. Eeehh. I am thinking completing some of my not 100% completed vn's. Meikyuu after stories, tokyo babel and Drapeko. I'll likely read quite randomly.

What about project "Spear Of Light -Travel 909" "Spear of light" is like 'zoom' and 'travel' is your journey though translation and '909' is your call sign.

Moe was hardly the main part of the vn, neither did I feel it did any disservice to the vn. Let's not forget the true route ending . I still remember when we talked about Eustia on skype and you were right at the scene.

(this is a video from a chase scene in ch1 using the old yandere patch, IIRC) If that's the baseline, I'm not sure how excited people should be. I re-read the chase part of the game. Yeah the TL feels stotic, or well. Not the same feeling as in the jap version. That being said, keeping/transfering the nuances is the hardest imo. My english is too sucky to be able to do that accurately sadly.

I tend to find that popular titles tend to have right time estimates on vndb. I used like 50 hours on muv luv alt and usually around under ~30 hours on the "10-30 hours" titles. Depends if I want to listen to the voices a lot or not really. Or it's boring so I read faster. On the other hand titles with no TL's tend to have messed up stats. Like tokyo Babel, 10-30 hours honestly lol. I don't read that fast, but that's just not right. Back to main topic lol. I tend to read 2-3 hours each day. Sometimes I marathon 10+ hours for a few days if I have the time. If I really love the vn and I am in the mood I might do 5+ hours each day for weeks. I love VN's so I read them a lot. Also I am used to sit for hours and consentrate so it's really nothing that new for me.

I learn with the method Mephisto said, It works really great. Tools I use is ITH and JParser + JGlossator. Read/check words with JParser and learn/check individual kanji with JGlossator. JParser is great, but you mostly just learn compounds in the long run. As it doesn't show up the individual kanji's meanings and readings. I use JGlossator to auto check the kanji from the clipboard and makes a table of them. Similar to TA I suppose in that regard. Also I agree with Vokoca. Using Atlas is a waste of time in the long run. You use time to analyse the engrish, instead of analysing the japanese. That being said.. It is practical as a crutch in start when reading. Maybe mostly to be sure you are acutally understanding what is being talked about. But, that will bite you in the ass. Because Machine tl's ain't reliable.

I would just do the same as Chrono really. I'd rather put the words into anki, that way you'd remember them. Considering you want to read the novel, I'd add the words from the novel that pops up often into anki.

Indeed. Additionally if you want to only download automatically lets say 5 hours a day. You could just schedule your bittorrent or whatever software you are using. To only download from 13:00 to 18:00 a clock. schedulers are rather common. You can also limit the amount of download each day etc if you want that as well.

I remember I make a topic for that a while ago. Basically we could use the Open source release – the VNTLS’ 4chan scraper Tinfil made, to update our pages. That way we'd get the info directly from the 4chan thread. But we would need some coding to make it work I'd imagine.

I'd use all the recousres I had to create Loli army ofc. After that I'd create a city with only loli's. I'd only let the loli's have childern with other people with similar loli traits. Then I'd breed forth a CITY full of loli's. I'd then spend the rest of my days ruling over my beloved Lolita city. After a while, I'd have enough loli's to make a create a country of loli's.

I personally find the thought of a C&D quite ironic. Moenovel basically rejected a lot of people in the current visual novel community by censoring Kono Oozora. In their words, they did it because: They wanted to expand to a wider market. By sending C&D they are pretty much saying they care about the old vn userbase market they so decisively set aside. That would be quite the conflict between their goals and actions. That reasoning aside. They might C&D just because why not. Protecting our works etc bla bla. Overall it does seem unlikely they will do anything in near future.
