  1. Yes you can. Pretty much was Vokoca said.
  2. haha, that's okay. I have read some of your posts before. Did you try and get Visual novel reader (VNR) working? It works in fullscreen.
  3. Ohh, this does seem interesting. I am currently reading VN's with TA +ITH to learn japanese and for fun. TA doesn't need to install, simply put a Edict dictionary in the dictionary folder in TA and it will work. I am guessing you are not using the tablet like user interface of Windows 8. This Is how I got it working. To get the Edict File link: Edict2 This link will open a site with the entire dictionary file in it, so wait a bit until it have loaded. After that use your internet brower menu on the top of your screen. (Depends on your browser how this is done.) and go File -> Save Page as: Then save it as a txt. file. This will download a compressed file, extract it and move the edict2.File into TA's dictionary folder.

    Hi

Welcome to fuwa! You know what they say, the mango'er the merrier...
  5. Welcome! I started out playing DS adventure games as well, slowly I got dragged to vn's.
  6. My most hated character is no doubt Sakaki Chizuru from Muv Luv. (Rage censored in spoiler)
  7. I agree with Aggressor as well. I've read it and Shuumatsuron is awesome.
  8. You are asking a pretty hard thing.. hmm YU-NO I guess is the closest thing I can come up with. No idea how much h-scenes or if that novel will fit you though.
  9. Proactive Protagonist, Fighting protagonist, Genius protagonist. Homicide/Bloody Scenes, War, Military, Mystery, Comedy, Protagonist with Psychological Problems.
  10. I usually aim for the routes that I initally find interesting, then read all of the routes afterwards. When I read in english I read every route always one VN at a time. Now I tend to jump around multiple VN and complete routes as I see fit. I find it a lot easier to lose interest in reading a VN because it's harder to read it in japanese. Though I can choose from whatever I want, so I guess also I am becoming slightly spoiled lol. So that might also be part of it.
  11. I usually prefer to read the VN instead of seeing the anime. It's a lot longer and therefore more fun out of that VN, if I see the anime I will get spoiled in content. 4 hours compared to ~30 hours. Additionally I just prefer the way they tell stories in VN's. It's like I have a great Anime, but it lasts 5 times longer. It does have less animation, but it overcomes that with monologue and more talking that you could "never" put into a anime. I might see the anime afterwards, but usually not. Because... Vn>anime usually imo. There are exceptions but that's usually the case.
  12. Reading too much Reminiscence, I got sad by one of the events :S So I started reading The Code Name is "Shield 9" as a more relaxing VN. It's great haha, laughing my ass off almost each minute so far after playing for an hour.
  13. Welcome to fuwaland!~~
  14. Arturia there is a thread that discussing what the best way to approach learning japanese to be able read vn's. You will likely find it interesting. Now for the usual business, more links~~ Here is all of Clephas VN reccommendation list threads. The lists contains both translated titles and untranslated ones. Though it's centered around untranslated ones. Not suprising as there are more untranslated titles that translated ones. For Love of VNs: For Beginners (For beginners reading in japanese) For Love of VNs: A list (Multiple genre VN's) For Love of a Genre: A list of great Chuuni games For Love of a Genre: A list of great Fantasy VNs For Love of a Genre: A list of great Sci-fi VNs For love of VNs: Chicken Soup for the Soul For love of VNs: Light and ecchi Clephas' VN of the month Edit: Added two more lists Clephas made. (Ecchi and soothing vn's lists)
  15. haha, already 3 steps ahead maan I have already read Shuumatsuron. I read 2 routes in first akagoei before I jumped to Shuumatsuron. I went back now to read the rest of the routes because I wanted more. Shuumatsuron is indeed awesome to say the least. I gave it 9.4. The endings were somewhat incomplete imo, otherwise I'd give it a 10. Been a long while since I have had so fun with a VN as Shuumatsuron
  16. Completed all the routes in akatsuki no goei. Aya's route was okayish. Moe was mostly boring besides the grandfather he was lol. I didn't like Tae before but her route was suprisingly funny, The secret route was interesting enough, it was the basis for Shuumatsuron. Overall enjoyed the rest of the routes, also I needed to read something less challenging.. Tokyo Babel put the air out of me a bit lol. Main VN I am reading now is Reminiscence.
  17. I am pretty sure you don't need to install this game. It is pre patched. So simply start the game exe from the torrent folder. If that doesn't work, look for the readme.txt file. Maybe something is written there.
  18. Yes you need to do an introduction, they are a matter of life and death!! And welcome to fuwa, please enjoy the rest of the tour~~
  19. Imo it's not a dead project as long and the translation files still exists and a project member can help to continue the work. If you look at the progress page it seems like 85% is translated, but only around ~10% is Checked and edited. So it seems like he is missing staff? Or maybe he stopped updating the progress page? Hmmm.... Either way it's probably not a bad idea to contact him and see if he wants help.
  20. Geh, it's kinda hard for me to say what my favorite VN is because what would be best a year ago. Doesn't mean that it would be best now. Additonally to my mental state changes my perception at the time.. Steins;gate I really loved, but I was sleep deprived and mentally exhausted while I read it for a week... I guess Muv Luv Alternative really takes the cake. Rewrite was also really really good. I'll say Muv Luv Alt as fav, as it gave me the biggest impression on me.
  21. Cool list. I see you added a lot of great titles to the 2nd level, I don't know any of the first level VN's. I am planning to read "Konata yori Kanata Made", "Haruka ni Aogi, Uruwashi no", "Re: birth Colony Lost Azurite", "Irotoridori no Sekai" and some more titles from the list.. Actually you really packed the list with good vn's O_o and they don't look that hard. Hats off for you Clephas. Re:birth Colony Lost Azurite might give first timers a headache with the computer terms in katakana. Not sure how hard the game is because I was completely new when I started and quickly dropped it. But prbly spikes up to Draculius hardest dif at times.
  22. Some of the soundtracks I like and recently remember. Akatsuki no goei OP 2 ~Tsumibukaki Shuumatsuron~ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rWmWB2SdLzU Muv Luv Alt Stormguard, pretty rememberable haha http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pj5U2J4bov0 Prbly my favourite soundtrack in Hatsuyuki Sakura http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fR_fpf3c3q0 Eien no Aselia OP, I loved this game and the OP is awesome. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3DCrmVjSArc
  23. Completed Sorami's route, and 2 bad ends. I am going to do the rest of the routes as well. I enjoyed this game a lot. Sometimes a bit too much chuuni for me, but nothing I can't ignore. Also too many good damn holy weapons and angels names. More of them than I would have liked did not make a lot of sense. Or more like I had no idea what they were in english and I didn't bother to search each one up. I did unlock a glossery of sort in the extra's, I'l prbly skim through it... I found myself very easily dragged into the world, I found the setting interesting and wondering about philosophical problems I guess you could call them. I did find it to have a bit many and too long fighting scenes. But on the otherhand I have read the VN alot these last days..
