  1. Usually I work, exercise and such during the day and use the last few hours before I sleep to read vn's. I find it harder to enjoy vn's as much when I am not tired. Reversed if I am tired it feels like heaven on earth to sit down and read for usually around 3 hours before I go to sleep.
  2. Pretty sure all the cracks and such you need is on the anime sharing website. That was what I used anyway. Also to run the vn you have to use NoRegion loader. (For me atleast)
  3. Reading this thread made me realise I totally love Chuni, dammit lol xD
  4. I thought he really was a funny character. One of the parts that made KS memorable.
  5. There is no gameplay in either Seiken or Forest. Also Ever17 is a great vn. It's somewhat lighthearted, not something I'd fuss over anyway.
  6. I guess a title from Liar-soft might fit you then. Either Forest or Sekien no Inganock. Sekien no Inganock is prbly the most fitting one for you.

    Hello

Welcome to fuwanovel! Clannad was one of my firsts vn's as well, I enjoyed it alot! Have fun~~
  8. I am looking forwards to be able to enjoy reading the harder vn's in my to read list. They keep staring at and me saying to get better. For vn's that is not yet released that would be Angel Beats (Key fan haha) and Reminiscence Re:Collect (Anticipating that it will be good)
  9. Congrats Down! You are brilliant!~~
  10. I pretty much 100% agree with Pabloc. Other than that Atlas might be useful on your first VN as crutch. To understand how the japanese flows and works you need real exposure to it. Reading loads of grammar guides you will learn concepts, but not really anything connected to them. It makes you almost have to "relearn" everything again. The real problem here really is, what is you resilience level. How much hardship are you able to handle before you give up. When you are reading raw sometimes I reading it insanely slow, other times you don't understand anything at all, other times it's just boring. It's hard but also very rewarding and in the end it's mind ****ing awesome. It's easier to start if you have a somewhat good grasp of grammar, know some kanji's (Mostly know how the kanji's look different). If you give up, you need to change strategy. Go at it from a different angle, find what works for you. Learning isn't static as we are taught at school. They have it completely backwards imo. I don't want to learn japanese to be able to read it! I read japanese becaue I want to learn it! Same as Pabloc I'd rather read jp vn's for 4 hours each day, compared to using anki for 1 hour each day. Which is exatcly what I am doing MUAHAHAHAH.
  11. I pretty much agree with Sanahtlig. JParser is pretty much a cheatcode to read vn's. The only thing it can't do anything for is grammar and slang. If you become good at it you can pretty much just read the furiganas and "ignore" the kanji's. That being said, you become dependent on JParser and can only read with it. You will likely very slowly memorize kanji's and compounds after a while. Recently I saw a compound and I didn't remember any of the kani's in it. But I knew the pronunciation and the meaning. I was like: "What Sorcery is this!!?" About Atlas, I agree it's great for better understanding at times. But imo it's just not reliable. It sometimes translates the text into something completely understandble and nice. But the translation is plain wrong because it messed up one word or something. It was more confusing that helping for me, so I stopped using after a while. What I'd reccommend is if you want to quickly start reading vn's is: Use RTK to learn about ~500 kanji's. This is for getting used to seeing the differences in the kanji's and knowing a few kanji's. Most importantly is learning how to use memonics and be somewhat good with it. You don't need to make stories for each new word you see in jap when reading, but it's very practical to be able to connect the word to other things. That way it's much easier to remember them. After that you should understand some basic grammar. A fast read of Tae kim's guide and most 'effective' would prbly be: Introduction, The Writing System, Basic Grammar, Essential Grammar sections. You should quickly look over what the other sections are also. (To know what they are about) There is a anki card deck for Tae kim's grammar guide. You should prbly do the cards that fit your sections. After that you should be pretty much ready to read nukiges and easy vn's with TA and ITH. That being said. I'd actually reccommend you to download the nukige you want to play and set up TA and ITH. Then try it out right now. Why? Because it would be practical for you to know what your current level is and what you need to learn.
  12. Welcome to this part of the universe~~
  13. Some more resources: If you would like to have fully updated version of TA (JPraser) and ITH, with the newest updated edict 2 dictionary. Very practical if you want as accurate results as possible. TA You can put additional dictionaries in TA for more accurate results. I'd reccommend Mecab and Edict2 - Mecab Simply install it, but when you are asked for which dictionary you would like to install during the installation, don't choose UTF16. I went with UTF8. Mecab should work automatically with TA's if you have turned on Mecab support on in the option in TA. To turn it on, right click on the JPraser window in TA and go Config. Then check mecab hinting. - Edict2 This link will open a site with the entire dictionary file in it, so wait a bit until it have loaded. After that use your internet brower menu on the top of your screen. (Depends on your browser how this is done.) and go File -> Save Page as: Then save it as a txt. file. This will download a compressed file, extract it and move the edict2.File into TA's dictionary folder. ITH Simply download and extract it. Go to Aero's guide if you are unsure how to use it. To update ITH start ITH_Updater in the install folder, update both profile and ITH. (You would usually try to update ITH if it can't find the right hook to your game) A few settings tips I'd give is. After you press 'process' to hook up the game, press 'attach' then also press 'add profile' then 'ok'. Then find the right hook for the text of the game. When you have found that press Save in the top of the ITH panel. Next time you start up the game now it will automatically find the hook for you. Jglossator Recently I was searching for a dictionary that could auto-copy and search from clipboard like TA could. But rather search for for compounds and grammar. I'd like it to find each kanji in the clipboard and show it's meaning and pronunciation alone. Someone recommended this: Jglossator It pops up this list up: I've been using it for a short while, but so far I found it very useful.
  14. Taking this from memory, if I remember right. ps: You should mention in the title that this thread contains spoilers.
  15. lol wierd, works fine on my firefox.
  16. There is a voice patch you can download there. It's not a torrent though, it's 1-9 devided rar files on a download site. I am pretty confident it's going to work, but yeah it's annoying to download.
  17. You've been here for a while then, a late welcome is in order then. Welcome!
  18. There should be some versions of the game that is on the web without the english patch installed and with voices. Just install it normally and don't apply the english patch. If you'd like to just apply a the voice patch: Voice patch Torrent, don't know if it's still alive.
  19. Welcome to fuwa Izzy! Also Flutterz, that ball she's holding looks like a Pokéball! lol XD
  20. You want to learn japanese and be fan translator, a noble goal indeed. I am learning japanese as well and reading untranslated vn's. When you feel like reading a untranslated vn. You should should ask a recommendation from Clephas^^ He has loads of knownledge on that field. He has made a Topic for it as well. Welcome to fuwanovel brother~~
  21. Welcome to fuwa~~ I am looking forwards to reading majikoi Miyako as well, It does look great.

  23. Welcome to the forums mate! We are a friendly bunch, and we all enjoy Vn's haha ^^. You are forgetting the Loli's Cryo....
  24. I missed reading the forums suprisingly much for the short while it was down. I am glad it up again. We got competent managers working on fuwa! ^__^
  25. Oh right, so we got the same opinion on that . I do agree it would be nice if they went further into the problems. I felt it was kinda lacking as well when I think about it. Though that might be somewhat hard. I think the novel had a perfect length. That aside.
