It's a mixed bag. The anime was, more or less, another poor attempt to sell the game. The vn itself is... decent in terms of it's main selling points, but aside from that, remains a preety generic school harem type of game with characters you'll either like, or hate to the utmost extents. There are a lot better vn's, though. On the other hand, Sora is just way over the top in terms of being a shallow fanservice bait; the protag isn't any better, either. Best characters as usual remain within the supporting cast.

Thanks. I just hope I'll be able to retrieve it... I invested too much time and tears into LLSIF, just to lose my account like that.

I'm more hyped about Turok: Dinosaur Hunter and Turok 2: Seeds of Evil remasters currently in works. Sorry guys.

Is it possible? Where can I get some legit info on how to do it? I could propably send them an e-mail with some of the account info I have; guess it's worth a try. edit: Nevermind, I found how to do it. Could anyone from my friendlist check the last time I logged in? I'll most propably need it for the retrieval.

I think... I've just lost my account. I was cleaning my phone's internal memory and I thought about moving the LL data onto SD card, since I've been running out of space for a longer while. Then I accidentally cleaned the data; I thought it's only the downloaded data instead of internal data, like account etc. It seems the game actually isn't able to save to SD though and after another restart I discovered it just restarted from scratch... and I didn't export the code. So yeah, unless there's another way, like restoring deleted data from internal memory (which I doubt even to be possible), it's all lost.

Even the best translation won't save a shitty h-scene.

Beat DoDonPachi Dai-Ou-Jou, Ketsui and Espgaluda 2 and we'll talk.

I'd say honorifics should be always dropped, when they bare no significance to the context of the story. It's a japanese thing and it should be left for japanese; there's literally no valid reason to keep them, aside from translator's whim, when all they add is nothing more than another layer of flavor to your moe.

>Is this an OELVN? I chuckled... a bit. Thanks for making my day.

Another interesting Clockup title, that won't be touched by the majority of playerbase because of it's extremity, or maybe it's just the devs being too borderline with the type of content they produce. I'm not really sure what to think of Clockup in general; their games often show a lot of premise coupled with decent concepts, but overreliance on gore and "being edgy no matter what" kills their final products, making them interesting and fully enjoyable only to a very small, specific niche.

The Market of VNs Around the World - Discussion

TIME TO LEARN JAPANESE -
A lot of these scenario writers either never even had a girlfriend to start with, or outright refuse to get involved in 3d relationships. What else do you expect?
-
>serious and realistic vn's

A lot of games have heroines with sexual experience. Perhaps you should move on forward instead of reading only cheap moege If you want more realistic approach to relationships in general, you're propably looking in the wrong place, tho.

This event came too quickly. I don't even feel like participating.

Western players tend to enjoy plot-focused games more, instead of those appealing through specific traits or chracteristics, especially when you put aside typical anime fans. In overall, moege does not have that much of a holding ground here, since our cultures differ too much; Japan is the culture of cute, while we're usually looking for something more definite and serious. You can experience that just by looking at the late trends; for example, Psycho-Pass was preety popular on the west, while in Japan it wasn't any sort of a spectacular success (it did fairly well, but that's only because Urobutcher's name was on it). It's been the same like that with majority of mature titles and works, which often focus a lot more on the story, characters and settings, than the premise of "cute girls doing cute things". Those that fail in Japan, get a lot more recognition abroad and vice versa. It doesn't mean we dislike moe aspects. What we need though is a proper meaning to it, which is something most creators often tend to neglect. In overall, I think those aspects need to be taken into account for japanese developers to get more recognition abroad.

Which visual novels has the most amount of choices?
Narcosis replied to Dark_blade64's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Aoishiro. If I remember well, it has about 50+ different endings and one of the longest scenarios ever. The only problem being the fact Makoto isn't a villain, but the game's protagonist. School Days does deserve a clap for proper usage of choices, but I'd hold on with saying it's a great game; in fact, it's far from perfect and presents a lot more flaws, than strong points. -
This is propably the third most important event of this year, straight after Fuwanovel's IPS upgrade and Tay surviving a monsoon.

I never thought I'd see this day.

A lot of the more modern games pack full-sized art assets, that are later software-downscaled within the game to fit into 16:9 HD standard, which became the most commonplace. A lot of games boost large art for panning/zooming purposes. None of the art can be actually considered high resolution, until it's at least 1920x1080 run natively in 1080p. Most games still use 720p with assets that are sometimes a slightly bigger increment to force more crisp art ingame, depending on downscaling algorithms. If anything, most of the games get upscaled to fit 1080p, which results in blury graphics. If you're talking about running the game in 5:4/4:3 within 16:9, it's still going to get downsampled. 720p vs 1100x900 doesn't sound any different, except for the fact you'll get a lot smaller graphics in overall compared to what they did and it'll definately lose some level of detail in the process. The issue with Maou is that it wasn't ever made with modern resolution standards in mind. The original art assets were also preety small, which succesfully negates any chances of obtaining crisp looking, high resolution art for use with 1080p. In other words, the artists would have to literally recreate the whole art from scratch using current content. It's a LOT of work, that's why they propably dropped it; it's highly possible the people responsible for it do not even have the access to the original assets anymore, which happens often with games developed many years ago... and results in shitty renewal editions.

Your average audience isn't really interested in reading good stories. All they want is boobs shoved straight into their faces.

Nice pick. This is one of the better vn's out there and I'm wishing you all the best to finish the translation. Who knows, maybe even MG will get interested.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/377860/ It happened. After many years of constant struggle between western fans and japanese game industry, Cave finally opened up and decided to port their cult classic arcade games to PC. Degica is handling the localization and porting. As much as Mushihimesama is their first PC title, Degica already stated plans to bring more of the Cave games to the western players. Hold your fingers crossed and there's a huge chance we'll soon see such titles as Ketsui, Death Smiles, Espgaluda 2 or even Dodonpachi series! There's a launch discount currently available, with full game price of 14,99 euros and an additional Matsuri mode DLC (the so called Mushihimesama Black Label, which was an incredibly limited edition of the original PCB, boasting a completely redesigned game mode and additional content) for 3,74 euros. If you'll buy the game, you also get the beautiful game soundtrack by Manabu Namiki. One thing's for sure - my wallet will suffer greatly , since I want to support them as much as possible.
