  2. Narcosis

    E3 2015

    FFX/whatever tommorow.
  3. What's next, I wonder? Muramasa, Dies Irae or maybe even KKK?
  4. Like any translation, no matter how good, will ever get close to the original I can't wait to see people's reactions, though. lol no
  5. Like with everything, interest wanes away with time. Unlike other mediums, like art or books which are mostly timeless, games are preety much bound to the hardware they were made for and require machines to be run on. It makes them more susceptible to fall into obscurity, unless really popular. In my opinion, things rarely die though, since there are always fans of nearly everything that will do anything they can just to ensure, that future generations will be able to experience them. Regarding possibilities, as of late a lot of old vn's that used to be really popular, or a part of well established franchise, are being remade. Rance series are a good example - they came out years ago, mostly for the previous NEC PC's and now, they are getting both new graphics, enchanced gameplay and rewritten scenarios. It's partially because Alice Soft wants to keep the legend of Rance alive and adjust them to the quality level of their newly released games, but also because a lot of modern gamers wants to experience the whole story without being forced to hunt for outdated software. Therefore - yes - it's possible, but highly dependant on game's circumstances.
  6. What comes to my mind are vn's like Hotel Dusk: Room 215, Last Window and Jake Hunter series. I'm sure the first two got english releases, but only a couple of Jake Hunter games got officially TL'ed. The point is, they're all for Nintendo DS only. In worst case you might try using an emulator.
  7. I'm not familiar with the Fuwanovel release of this game, but what I know is that you definately need to run it with administrator privileges; it's mostly associated with the game itself not being able to get access to write or read data due to the limitations imposed on the non-privileged applications. You might consider to run it in compatibility mode as well, since Gadget Trial is a fairly old game and might not work properly on the new systems; I can't offer much help, since I played the game years ago on XP and had no issues whatsoever. What system are you running it on? If I remember correctly, Fuwanovel releases were provided to work out of the box and didn't require any additional work except from unpacking. There should be some readme's included in the package as well, might want to check and see whether they contain a solution to your problem.
  8. Generally speaking, everything beyond a certain period of time is hard to get - with physical distribution only, games finally went out of print and since their publishers either do not exist, or don't hold publishing rights anymore, it's impossible for them to reappear on the market. Even when possible, they often do not come back simply because the interest in old games (retro market) is very small and new releases are both economically and financially infeasible. Used copies are often the only way to obtain those games. Luckily, with the advent of digital distribution, it's currently a lot easier for both developers and publishers to re-release older games. A lot of them are available as downloadable versions on Getchu and most have a quite affordable price tag.
  9. This has been known for months. just as Nose said, currently airing movie will close the history behind the Muse and that's preety much it. Gotta move on. I couldn't care less for all the basement dwellers still drolling over the gals; let them rage, haha. I'm actually interested whether the new cast will live up to it's numerous expectations and provide at least as much as Muse did.
  10. People don't even understand the meaning behind a fandisc
  11. Catgirls doing even more lewd cute things?
  12. 25% off Nekopara only doesn't make it a worse offer, since it's still 8,50$. With it's standard 10$ price tag, it's ridiculously cheap anyway considering the overall quality and joy it brings; it's literally the best indie VN Steam has to offer at the moment. ̄ー ̄
  13. Those prices are literally absurd. 18$ for a game like Romanesque is an offer you can't turn down.
  14. Regarding visual novels, Anything by Jin Happoubi and Oyari Ashito. Bishoujo Mangekyou is just screaming beauty and basically every single game Oyari worked on is a pure joy for the eyes. I'd definately recommend getting their artbooks, if you're looking for great and inspirational character art. AKIRA's and Ryuuko Ooishi's art is also incredibly distinct and they're both most known for their work on WAB series, particulary Sekien no Inganock, Valusia and Sharnoth. Can't say much about anime, since animation is what counts the most and artwork is often put at the second place, but Gankutsuou prove that exceptions do exist. I'm sure there are better examples to follow, though.
  15. This is the holy grail for everyone in terms of proper communication.
  16. It's more efficient to learn the basics of Python and Ren'Py scripting language, than use TyranoBuilder. Ren'Py is well documented, has a lot of tutorials available on the net and a helpful community. Ren'Py is also free for both private and commercial use. Beats anything else hands down except for Unity and GameMaker. In a longer run, those two might prove to be more powerful (cross-platform support is definately tempting), but Ren'Py remains the easiest engine to use available on the market.
  17. By nowadays standards, eroge are visual novels with adult content. 18+ visual novel is basically an eroge. Your point is invalid.
  18. An all-ages port of this game makes much sense. Frontwing should just keep milking their Grisaia franchise.
  19. Narco-chan the cutest~ Even if I'd like, I wouldn't be able to join you. Killian EU forever ̄ー ̄ It didn't run well on any hardware, except for the most powerful machines. Even then the framerates weren't as high as they should be. The most hilarious part is they never fixed it, along with many other notorious bugs. Despite that, everyone kept on playing. It was that kind of love-hate relationship. This game definately made it into the history of digital entertainment.
  20. You drunk, m8? Tits are life, ass is hometown!
  21. It's them, who don't know how modern gamedev works. Studios often have massive roadmaps planned way ahead of whatever they plan to release. DLC's, spin-offs and other extensions are often prepared along with the main game. Everything is thoroughly calculated, there's no "risk" factor involved. If something doesn't work, won't work, or involves way too much issues and/or financial risk, ends up canceled. It's a business and the main point of having a huge franchise, is to milk as much money with as little effort and work as possible.
