  1. Just finished Arcueid's route(both endings) in Tsukihime. I enjoyed it, though I do believe Nasu improved his writing with Fate. Also, definitely feeling the absence of voices, though that did mean that I was able to read a lot faster. Still, it's nice seeing a different aspect of the Nasuverse, and the characters are interesting enough. I'll start on Ciel's route tomorrow.
  2. The Troll Master is still doing her work well. She had some competition from Plastic Memories this week though...
  3. I'm struggling to recall how my life had any meaning before I started watching Ore Monogatari. I remember being fairly content... but what was I doing until now? Days Remaining Until Happy Again: 6.
  4. Starting up Tsukihime today. Haven't done an unvoiced VN since Katawa Shoujo, so we'll see how this goes...
  5. Ore Monogatari for being a very atypical romance show Arslan because nostalgia Those are probably the only must see shows(not including continuations like Sidonia and Fate). Plastic Memories could join them, but I have a feeling this show is going to be one that can't be properly assessed until it's over.
  6. Man, if what seemed to have happened at the end of ep 5 of Plastic Memories happened... In other news, Knights of Sidonia has definitely improved in the CG quality department. Also, ouch... Ore Monogatari is officially my favorite anime romcom ever. DanMachi remains interesting if not outstanding. Fate continues to be Fate. Crap! I'm 3 episodes behind on Euphonium. SoL really isn't my thing it seems... Arslan is still great. Hate the OP slightly less than the first time I heard it. Akatsuki no Yona's OP was still better.
  7. And Owari no Seraph continues its trend of not being good enough to genuinely like, but not quite bad enough to drop, with just a hint of better things to come(which turn into disappointment the next episode).
  8. She's a dog girl, apparently, not a cat girl. They called her a chienthrope. Chien = french for "dog."
  9. So I just watched the latest episode of Ore Monogatari and find myself thinking... now what? This is about where most anime romcoms end. Granted, it's kind of gratifying in that the show does what most of us want to scream at the typical dense-as-a-neutron-star protagonist in other shows. I'm just curious as to where the show is going to go from here.
  10. Arslan: Well that took a turn for the brutal pretty quick... Fate: First added scene was kind of unnecessary... second one... well that's certainly a good way for a king of heroes to make a grand entrance... Sidonia: Sidona no Trolling... good one /a/ good one... Plastic Memories: Pretty predictable, but not in a bad way... still interested. Seraph: Okay, that's a bit better. I won't drop you yet. Danmachi: Right now I'm looking at this as a SAO type harem adventure... Hopefully it doesn't turn to shit
  11. But... I'm already home...
  12. Not hugely into Slice of Life, but I'm giving Euphonium a shot because of the music angle. It's why I picked up Your Lie in April, and I definitely didn't regret that, so we'll see how this goes.
  13. First impressions so far... Arslan Senki: Hype intensifies. This was the show I was most looking forward to this season, and it's off to a good start Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka(just calling it "Dungeon ni" from now on): Could go either way. I'm guessing this is going to be my popcorn show of the season. Something had to take over for Aldnoah, I suppose. Fate: Nice to see they're starting the 2nd cour off at a sprint. There's a lot to cover in 13 episodes... Owari no Seraph: eh. Other than the opening scene, this show isn't really doing it for me. I'll give it the three episode benefit of the doubt. Plastic Memories: Oh I could see this going into some bad, bad places, emotionally. Good to have a show like that every now and then. Probably a keeper.
  14. Yeah, the show is outside the genres that I usually watch, but it has such a perfect blend of comedy and melancholy, and is wrapped in such a gorgeous package to boot. It's the kind of show that I'm kind of pissed off about not having watched sooner, mostly because it makes me wonder what else I've missed.
  15. Just finished watching Your Lie in April... Damn. That is all.
  16. More lewd than I can handle 11/10
  17. So Aldnoah.Zero ends with an impressive looking but pointless mecha battle, then cuts to no one important dying(not even the two kids who placed a death flag on the whole planet in episode 1). Seems symbolic of the whole season really. I didn't dislike the series at all, but it was definitely a popcorn show. And season 2 was far too Gundam-Lite for its own good. Season 1's "Inaho vs the Puzzle Bosses" was better. Oh well... bring on the Spring season!
  18. I usually watch the anime first for the same reason. Unless the adaptation is amazing, it's likely that I'll find the anime annoying if I do otherwise. But yeah, I start the manga from the beginning because it usually goes into more depth.
  19. How old is she? I watched Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de Aru with my 5 year old daughter, and she loved it.
  20. This may be the first time I can recall where there may be too many shows I'm interested in. I usually just pick 2 or 3, but.... Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works (because Fate) Arslan Senki (because nostalgia) Plastic Memories (because Steins;Gate) Dungeon ni Deai o Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka (because why the fuck not?) Owari ni Seraph (because Wit) Gunslinger Stratos (because curiosity) Ore Monogatari (because Madhouse Hibike! Euphonium (because music) Knights of Sidonia (because strangest harem + mecha)
  21. My response was a bit specific. I asked for a sci-fi/fantasy RPG taking place on a generational spaceship travelling from a destroyed homeworld to a new star system. I guess that could fall under the Star Ocean franchise.
  22. So it finally happened... (Aldnoah.Zero Spoiler Ahead)
  23. I think I would usually dislike long common routes, but Grisaia is definitely an exception due to great writing and a solid translation. It probably also helped that the protagonist was a very entertaining narrator. But imagine Muv-Luv Extra Takeru or Hisao from KS in a similarly lengthy common route... *shudder*
