As of late, my laptop's keyboard has some keys which, after the computer turns on or wakes up, stop working temporarily. I have no idea why this happens, but I have figured out what seems to be a relatively stable fix: I simply spam the keyboard keys, including those which do not function, and they start to after a couple seconds. Strange.

Momoiro Closet (new Frontwing game) Kickstarter is up
Mr Poltroon replied to Fred the Barber's topic in Visual Novel Talk
This surprised me too, actually, for I thought it'd be nothing but a nukige. Frontwing says on their FAQ that it's about the length of all Corona Blossom volumes together, 10-15 hours. Could ba a bit less, as I don't remember. It might also just be that it just has a lot of big H-Scenes. I could buy this bloody thing just on the basis of it not being volumes, to be honest. -
The future of different western eroge publishers
Mr Poltroon replied to bakauchuujin's topic in Visual Novel Talk
A few things: They still remove H-Scenes, but they've stopped altering scripts considerably. That's, uh, something, I guess...? Their translation quality does not seem to be particularly bad at the moment. If My Heart Had Wings may have given them a poor reputation, but every title since has been in actual, readable, understandable, English. I'm sure there's plenty to nitpick about, but you can do that to any translation (This is probably the laziest way to dismiss criticism. To put it another way, I don't think the translation is bad, and that's all that matters to me). Bad news for you: So far as we know, Moenovel is Pulltop. As in, Pulltop created Moenovel specifically to localise their titles. It is quite possible that all these ill-advised decisions fall on Pulltop, as Love Kami -Divinity Stage- clearly showcased the cooperation between the two. Not sure we can be quite certain, but it bloody well looks that way. -
Momoiro Closet (new Frontwing game) Kickstarter is up

It would have been interesting to see Sekai Project steal one of Frontwing's in-development VNs right from Frontwing's in-house translation team. So you say. Have you played Coronal Blossom? I enjoyed it a fair bit, to be honest. It's the lack of routes that gets to me. There's a reason I opt for VNs over other mediums, and that reason is routes. -
Ohhh! I have that Excalibur one myself.

Look at @Plk_Lesiak using his alternate account to promote himself. Disgraceful. Confession: I have made no particular attempts to hide my love for this medium, and all my backgrounds are of anime, but I think they're generally inoffensive. Except some of the backgrounds might look kinda girly, I guess. I've got it permanently rotating between a bunch of them. Let's take a look at the iffier ones, shall we? https://imgur.com/a/AXgBC Yeah, those are probably the most questionable images in my collection. Must be because I don't have much VN stuff. In short, anybody that looks at my laptop can see I like anime and such. This post, however, might make me consider using some VN stuff. I don't like busy images which is why I haven't really found any good ones yet.

Thank you so much. I never knew the paid version was accessory more than anything. I've been putting this story that I know I'd love with all my being on the back-burner because I was convinced the free version would be the inferior experience and that it might be worth it to stay my hand in hopes of it one day being completed. Thank you.

Simultaneous releases are a more appealing prospect; they still have a whole team of artists and writers, you know? Also, they're still slogging through their backlog. -
Harem anime with romantic harem ending
Mr Poltroon replied to Dergonu's topic in Anime/Manga Recommendations
Interesting. Let us see if I can enjoy this show. -
That does look like a Clannad reference. To put an image in spoilers you copy a direct image link to the image in question and paste it inside the spoiler. The editor should make it display automatically, if it is indeed a direct link.

I am afraid I have no solace to offer you. I am one such person that is entirely comfortable with things as they are for the moment. This doesn't stop me from thinking games such as Symphonic Rain are absolutely stellar, but not all can be like it, and if they all were, I'm sure I'd also enjoy them less. I am positive that games which attempt to weave a deeper narrative or tackle less favoured themes will never die out, and I don't really need their amount to significantly increase. Most people don't prefer those games. I'm not sure what exactly you're asking here, even? Should VNs completely change to better suit your tastes? Though this is somewhat of a mean thing to say, given that the medium is currently well attuned to my own. The usual recommendation is that one should pursue that which one likes. If VNs as they are now do not suit your fancy, I would sadly recommend you look somewhere else that would better satisfy you, instead of... lamenting, I guess. Or are there enough titles you like out there and you're instead referring to the fact that the world at large does not think the same way you do? I'm afraid that happens quite often. A real bummer, really. Who'd have guessed most people used Shift to capitalise letters? ...Perhaps I've failed to grasp the intent of this thread.

I did nothing of particular worth during that period. That is a lie, though. I saved up all those years so that I could now pursue higher education. That is good. As for hobbies, I played games and read comic books. If you want to know exactly what kind of games, I'll have you know I am the ultimate PopCap PC gamer. Baking cakes and feeding fish are my masteries. I also spent a lot of time sucking at strategy games. My favourite pastimes seemed to be exploiting the AI in total war games, save-scumming in Commandos 2, watching the pretty effects and uniforms in Company of Heroes, and parading around with my armies in Age of Empires III. A lot of Sims, as well, and I still have the disk for Ground Control 2 somewhere... not that I can install it. I also know the first Call of Duty in and out. My understanding of English during this period was subpar at best. I remember a captain in Call of Duty calling a soldier 'son' and thinking he meant it literally. ...You need to realise that playing games has been my greatest source of enjoyment, and though there may be better and greater things waiting for me out there, I'd rather not put in the effort. If I never do so, I'll never have cause to regret loving games as I do. Comic books. I'm a Belgian and French comic book fan. Asterix was great. Tintin was great. Gaston was great. Spirou was great. Interestingly, I preferred the earlier drawing styles of these comics, aside from Tintin (it was always simple, so it never changed too much). I think I probably still watched television during this period. Cardcaptor Sakura, Doraemon, and Sgt Frog are standouts, though I enjoyed many western cartoons as well.

The above to an extent. When possible, I have the news on while eating.

Never7 could do with some H-Scenes. Only one character's dubious, with the rest being college students, and the romance is real in this title. Additionally, there's another title I would perhaps have enjoyed the presence of H-Scenes in (even if I ended up skipping them). Nurse Love Addiction could have probably gotten away with it, if it had tried. Though there is reason to believe that making it 18+ would lower the impact of the story, so I won't complain. Also, Otome games in general are free to be more daring. I'll always welcome them. Though implied sex is often just as efficient. Err... I guess console games could stand to be more daring. I don't need H-Scenes per say, but most all ages stuff stays away from cuddling, kissing or most implied intimacy. I just feel like I'm not getting my fix, I suppose would be the crass way to put it. I mean, Nagisa got pregnant in Clannad. YOU KNOW HOW THAT HAPPENED?! BABIES DON'T GROW IN TREES! I am, as it happens, not that much of a fan of H-Scenes themselves, but I can do with intimacy between characters. If the game pulls that off well, I'm fine with it.

HAHAHAHA https://forums.fuwanovel.net/staff For the last couple of months, the only ones active there were Zeno. Kaguya and Eclipsed appeared occasionally. Me, Dergonu and Clephas were only added pretty recently. What you read pertains to Fuwa of the past. Pre 2015, probably closer to 2013. EDIT: I feel it necessary to clarify the tone of the laugh. I'm not so much laughing at you but at what you said, because it is in such direct opposition with reality. If anything, Fuwa was lacking in active mods for a while there. -

The F.A.Q didn't quite make it because... it was mostly a bunch of posts justifying piracy or other grey areas You asked about the forum, so this is the oldest image of Fuwanovel I have, I think: -

Incidentally, the ratio of Portuguese-speaking people on these forums has been ridiculous. I don't think I've ever encountered so many such people on any other primarily English-speaking place. I want to ask about state secrets. What is Limbo? -

Help me, @Fiddle-sensei! (I still have that image pinned in my browser) -
Ohh, I like this sort of thing, too. But it's hard to find these, though. Cinderella Phenomenon. The main character gets caught up in the events surrounding her, but in the majority of the routes she cannot do much of anything herself. She is proactive, for sure, but relatively powerless. Even then, she is technically at the centre of events. Majikoi. Yamato from Majikoi spends most of his time preparing things behind the scenes, and is not usually at the forefront of events, with everyone around him being more powerful than him. However, he also has moments where he's the one to save the day, so... Don't Take It Personally Babe, It Just Ain't Your Story. I've played it, but that's all I'll say. I mean, just look at the title. Analogue: A Hate Story and Hate Plus by the same author are about learning of a story that has already happened. Katahane kind of fits. The characters we play spend a chunk of the story learning about the past, which is the core of this story, but has little to do with them, all things considered. Kindred Spirits on the Rooftop. It's, essentially, a story about playing cupid, I guess. Does that fit? Yumina the Ethereal is a surprising fit. The protagonist spends most of his time working for other people, and I'm fairly sure the heroines are the ones pulling the hero moments. But I might be misremembering. In some ways, The Devil on G-String fits. In some, many others, it doesn't. The main story is about two characters, neither of which is the protagonist, but the protagonist is very proactive indeed. A lot of world conquering games where the protagonist isn't especially powerful technically fit, but I'll go with Koihime Musou for this one. His power comes from everyone working for him, not he himself. Doesn't look like what you want, though. Loren The Amazon Princess specifically advertises itself with this idea in mind. You play as the hero's servant. I thought it was pretty good, but embarrassingly, I've never finished it, which... Not usually a good sign. Damn. That's it. Hardly a single one I think fits. I hope someone knows some.
