  1. You appear to have committed a mistake. Upon rigorous research, it is indubitable that Texas Dice is merely putting up a front. In reality, he is a complete and utter Key Fanboy.
  2. Creating misunderstandings is the primary function of Rooke's post: A true showcase of how taking things out of context only leads to happiness and joy.
  3. I reiterate these words: EDIT: Whoops. Nearly forgot to add the sassy comment in. This'll do.
  4. Oh, no you don't. You can't fool my all-seeing eye! You say the names are fake, but I've got you figured out. Sure, they're technically fake but... Jane is actually Linda and Linda is actually Jane, is that not so?! That's why the names are, as you say, "fake".
  5. I'll be honest. This description of yours seems like the sort of thing I'd really like. There's so much stuff others hate on that I might like, I wish I had the time to watch anime these days...
  6. Sounds like a perfectly good justification for her apparent attitude, but maybe it's just me. Also, how can you not like Disney films, blasphemer!?
  7. You do appear to be exaggerating in regards to her current attitude, not that I'd know. Either that or this period of her life really is absolutely time consuming and energy-draining. I don't believe there's much that can be done, and I think that family is family and that's enough of a bond, but instead of trying to get her into your hobbies, especially when her free time is limited, have you tried getting into hers?
  8. In order to include them as a favourite developer, I must have necessarily played more than one game by the particular developer. Yuzusoft - Their brand of fake drama, protagonists, settings and romance are everything I could ever ask from a VN. Fluffiness and loveliness ahoy. Key - In light of having played 4 VN's by this developer and having liked them all lands them a spot high on this list. Minatosoft - Huge casts, great comedy, romance and a fantastic protagonist (when he doesn't have his head in the gutter) make their Majikoi series one of my favourites. Akabei Soft and derivatives - Both of the two games I played from them proved to be incredibly enjoyable in a different manner from my usual tastes, making them the only company not on this list for the romantic elements in their VN's. Overdrive - Having played Edelweiss, Deardrops and Kira☆Kira I guess it could be said I rather like their games, except not always. My favourite was Edelweiss, and Kira☆Kira had some good moments in its earlier parts, but unfortunately it didn't develop its romance, the main reason I play VN's, with my favourite heroine, and had a tonal shift, or at least it was more drastic than in other routes, in one of them, and I absolutely hated it. I hate those curveballs. Deardrops also seemed to be failing to meet my expectations in the romance department, leading me to having never finished thus far. 07th Expansion - Umineko and Higurashi make for some of the greatest (both in size and in enjoyment) experiences I had with VN's, except I've never fully read either (Not the first 4 episodes in Umineko and not a single full episode of Higurashi), disqualifying 07th from the list.
  9. Glorious. Will be waiting with anticipation to be unable to play it on PC. Thankfully, I do own a PS4. Assuming I'm able to get it digitally, even I should be able to play it.
  10. The first important step towards British Enlightenment is spelling it correctly. The second step, even more important, is vehemently denying that you like tea, because you mustn't fit into stereotypes. Incidentally, I have no idea what you mean by "I don't find myself using such broken English".
  11. "I'm too lazy to properly communicate." - What a terrible policy, but that's just my opinion. Anyways, I did indeed. I was called a teacher by you, which would therefore imply I taught something, in that case, how to construct, formulate and interpret a sentence: This best part of this whole ordeal is that my English was comparatively worse back then.
  12. Oh, no. I have no issue with your tsundereness. In fact, I welcome it. A wide range of personalities is always welcome. What I do have an issue with is how it seems your English hasn't improved much from the days I used to teach you English in the Unlimited Chatter Works (Miyako Route Translation or something, at the time). You make your teacher sad. Furthermore, this is terribly unlike you: Strangely placed fake smilies are more Rooke's thing.
  13. Translation aside, I have another important issue to bring up: Definition of "Half" and Definition of "Over". Discuss.
  14. Oh dear lord... I have no words for the people in the fan project other than 'RIP'
  15. 8/10 - Cute, but small.
  16. I'm not sure it exists, but it's entirely possible to tell a story with images, sound effects and music alone. In VN format it'll probably end up looking like a prettied up slide show, however.
  17. I will never understand these hostage analogies. Who wants the games? You. Who pays for the games? Also you. Who gets a cut for being the intermediary? Them. What's the problem? If enough people pay for the game, want the game, they release it. Else they don't. Most of the time kickstarters and indiegogo's even offer more rewards for those willing to spend more money for them. Kickstarter assures a company turns in a profit, regardless of the game's sales - EDIT: Which in turn assures the intermediary remains in the game, contacting more Japanese companies and bringing more stuff over, faster than any of the 3/10 Fan Translation Teams which deliver anything after years of slow progress. It also gives the fans more merchandise, cheaper prices, and more info and control over the direction they take (via Prefundia, for example - Some vehement complaints suggestions have changed a company's mind in aspects that, if they hadn't made a kickstarter, we wouldn't even know about until release. Muv-Luv's initial 'editing of the existent release' turning into 'pretty much retranslating the game' or Sharin no Kuni's "devilish" DLC policies being done away with). I don't get the supposed disadvantages of Kickstarter... What does it matter to you which black hole the money gets sucked into? If enough people want the game, are willing to pay for it, they'll get it. But if everyone kicks up a fuss over things that don't matter (a company whose sole objective is to make profit is being greedy? Better call the papers), nobody gets anything. EDIT: Of course, failure to meet the conditions imposed on the Kickstarter with no valid justification is good enough reason to stop backing a particular group. "Fool me once..."
  18. You need to understand I play PC games. It's not my fault the Call of Duty games shifted their focus to the console market. I don't typically shy away from any particular genre (except horror).
  19. 8/10 - Is she underwater? She seems somewhat flabbergasted. Rather cute altogether, though. Shiny.
  20. Have a nice birthday, @maefdomn and @KosakiFag. Or else don't. Up to you.
  21. Confession: Dear lord, I had completely forgotten how much I liked the older Call of Duty games, especially Call of Duty 2. Really makes me feel like a soldier in a squad, as opposed to Call of Duty 1 who took the approach of having us go solo for a good amount of missions. More surprising even is that, graphically, it looks better than some of the stuff I play nowadays. All those soldier models are so shiny~
  22. One, two and four will take hours and hours of your life to complete. They're all monstrous. I would exclude Muv Luv given the retranslation it's getting. Umineko will quite literally take a week of consecutive reading with no breaks to make any progress at all. Please sign here to sell your soul (and time) to the devil: I'm currently reading Amnesia;Memories. It's good. Nom Nom Nom Ever17 is also good, but as Rooke stated, it has some 'boring' moments; that is to say, moments where the characters are just hanging around and conversing and slice of life goodness, which I suppose hurts a tight sci-fi story more than they help it. However, I also believe you like slice of life nonsense so I don't see the problem. Fate/Stay: Night is good and terrible. It's got so much content there were whole routes I hated, routes I loved, characters I hated, characters I loved, scenes I hated, scenes I loved. Ultimately, since you seem more tolerant of the darker side of stories than I, I'd recommend it.
  23. If you were smart about your life you'd remember you could still eat those books instead of rummaging through rubbish. Alternatively, you could find a hefty book and throw it at someone's head, then steal all their food.
  24. I conjecture it may have something to do with appealing to the otaku's collector spirit, which wouldn't waste the opportunity to acquire a deluxe version where available. That certainly is a devious use of the language, but since they would otherwise be offering the VN at a cheaper price, for everyone's benefit, I'd say it's pardonable. Otherwise, I agree that if you don't trust the companies, setting a precedent isn't necessarily a good thing.
  25. Not being able to do anything about falling in love is something I consider a very important topic and that I'll elaborate on, at some point. There are also those who simply don't act even if they fall in love, like me, due to fear of rejection or some other reason. Speaking of rejection, I don't see how it could possibly benefit reproduction, so, thinking about it further, it may instead be connected with some other emotions. I haven't really thought of any way to explain rejection and the many reactions people have to them, so for now, I'll just suck it up to emotions.
