At least this time you're almost showing some semblance of reason, so I'll do you a favour and clarify. Best Girl Order would in all likelihood be, from least favourite to most favourite: Yuzu, Akane, Yves, Touko. This means my order is based on something else. A route I'm unsure about followed by a route I'm sure I'll like. Yves to Akane, and Yuzu to Touko. Furthermore, the one I'm most iffy about is Yuzu, so I don't want to start with that one. Finally, I also want to finish with Touko, on the basis that I'm hoping her route is the only one where she shows some real emotions, as opposed to most of what we've been seeing thus far. This way, the mystery will be kept until the end. EDIT: In completely irrelevant news to the subject at hand, I feel I should have been taking notes of all the typos so I could send them to the TL team. This is probably about the 15th I've found. After working on proofreading I've become rather accustomed to seeing them all over the place, or maybe it's only natural and it just does not affect everyone else as much as it affects me.

If you arbritrarily focus on the route order more than is due and then decide to ignore the rest of my post then you're simply not deserving of a proper answer.

For some first impressions on the characters*, I rather like Akane more than I thought. She's very earnest and does feel like a samurai on occasion. The best parts, however, are those moments where she panics or becomes highly flustered. Those are just fantastic. Yves is a very curious character indeed, and I'll need to mull over her for a while longer. For now, I quite like her unabashed selfishness. She also seems like a good person, though it seems inconsistent: Her set of values seems dislocated from common sense on certain aspects, if I had to say. Touko is also a fantastic Kuudere. Every single Kuudere I have seen lately has shown much more prominent emotion or fondness than what would be to my tastes, so this is rather uplifting. I wonder if we can make it to the end of the common route without any more than a couple of emotional outbursts at rare moments? I'm not particularly fond of Yuzu, though. Maybe if she focused more on the scientific side... I wonder if her route will focus on that? It would mean the route has great potential, certainly. The route order is more or less decided, although it is subject to change: Yves, Akane, Yuzu and Touko. *Up until the end of the training camp.

I see now. I derived no such connotation and was merely making fun of the formidable choice of wording: "Anime Characters". If you're looking for human characters, you'd look in humans. If you're looking for anime characters, you'd look in anime. That sorry excuse for a logic train aside, it is true that anime in general contains characters that you dislike, to such an extent that you'd go so far as to label them "anime characters"; prompting my suggestion. It doesn't mean the anime scene doesn't have non-anime characters, but neither should it mean it should stop having anime characters, either. I rather like anime characters, you see? And if people didn't like them too, then nobody would watch anime, right? It is evident, then, that some people, myself included, like anime characters, or else there'd be no audience, and all anime would instead have non-anime characters -- whatever that's supposed to mean. I understand your regrettable situation. I, too, have signed a contract that forces me to remove all niceties from my posts on the forums. Apparently, I was "forcibly suppressing myself" and "being too bland". I'll have you clarify this statement further, lest I embarrass myself due to your lack of care in making discernible statements. What do you mean by this?

How coincidental; neither did I*. ... Pardon me, I may be confused. When I stated that developed and characterised characters alone are not my particular cup of tea, you sarcastically brought the fact I enjoyed ReLife into the picture. I thought you were, then, pointing out that I do, regardless of what I may claim, enjoy shows with developed characters, which is true. If that is not what you intended to convey, then I'll need you to be clearer. How does my enjoying ReLife in any way correlate to my statements of not watching anime for the character development? As for my part, I can easily enjoy any such anime. Envy me, elitist! *Until just now, elitist.
-
Are you aware of whether or not my praise toward ReLIFE comes directly from their characters and given development? Furthermore, I don't necessarily dislike developed characters -- depending on the genre, I'll take anything. Allow me to expound: The reasons I liked ReLIFE are four in particular. 1) The concept of putting an adult in a high school student's body has great comedic potential. The first few episodes made good use of this, though unfortunately it was later swapped for more dramatic situations -- situations I'm not quite as much of a fan of. I'm hoping for more focus on the comedy in later seasons. 2) Chizuru's honesty and bluntness made her a very amusing character. Regardless of her existent motivations or otherwise, her attempts at social interaction were very engaging. This sort of character archetype always attracts my undivided attention, and this anime was no exception. 3) The idea of a character being altruistic and helping others is yet another situation this show employed with the lead character, and I rather appreciated it for it. 4) Finally, it contained some amount of romance, and some heavy hinting at even more of such. This is the main thing I'm looking forward to in future seasons. I wonder if the protagonist's own high school love will get developed any further. In light of this information, I'll defer the judgement to you on whether or not I enjoyed ReLife solely because the show "put a great deal of effort into its characters and development". My point, in short, is that developed and characterised characters are not the main reason I watch anime, but don't necessarily detract from the experience either.

Had I to hazard a guess, perhaps some people like anime characters? If I were looking for human and believable characters, I would, generally, look elsewhere* with all due reason. *Perhaps an 'elsewhere' where believable and human characters are the norm. Perhaps, indeed... Regardless, I am aware there exist some anime which do not fit the norm, and which you'd enjoy wholly. Many great classics, in fact, are such anime. Not my particular cup of tea, but I can see why you'd try to keep on hunting for such -- the particular kind of anime you enjoy. I'll just remain content that the current norm is the kind of anime I'd enjoy, filled to the brim with anime characters.
-
What a curious statement this is. Makes one wonder what you might be doing watching anime in general. As for me, ReLIFE is an anime from this season, is it not? If so, then permit my concise summary of my thoughts (now with extra pleonasms): It was magnificent, and retains much more potential. I cannot wait for an eventual sequel. I'm especially excited over what was revealed on the last (or perhaps, second to last?) episode. I keenly await with avid enthusiasm to see what will be done with that character.

Thank god my aptly inept eyes can see no wrong until it's pointed out and then promptly shoved down my throat. I won't say it doesn't deserve criticism, but I'm exultant that it does not affect my person in any manner.

Excellent, when I saw the opening, I was getting worried, as it had seemed rather short until that point; yet simultaneously it appeared too be slightly too long for a regular Prologue. I'm glad that it was merely the Prologue after all.
-
So as to get a sense of the length, I'd like to ask how far into the common route I am when
-
Okay, I know what I'm referring to in my mind. Not an actual tsundere, I'll just erase that whole statement. Thank you. Pardon me.

Surprisingly, I'm getting to this already. Thought it'd take another three months before I got to this one, as I tend to miss all the hype in new games as I'm busy with other, older ones. Regardless, I've got a good feeling about this one. After preliminary research, the characters look great, aside from the protagonist, but I'm used to that. It also seems like there's some sort of main plot for the common route, so looking forward to that.

Because this scoring system only applies to me. Other people may view 5 as average, but I...! Do too, actually. It's just because I didn't think it was average. I thought it was decent, actually. I enjoyed the first route but by the time I came to the second the drama they were employing as well as tropes and overall logic infuriated me too much to continue, which is why it got a 6. Basically, I liked my experience up until the point where I ragequit. I trust the VN to employ other tropes and ideas for other routes, making it good again, I just need to bring myself to finish the route I dislike.

The way I see it, the "inferior", cut version has less content. It is only natural, then, that it should get finished first, no? At that point in time it would therefore be useless to hold it back. Now then, as I am not on par with the situation, I'll refrain from making further comments, but I remain curious: Are the all-ages version and 18+ version on different engines or some such? I don't understand what you meant with "don't start with the all-ages version being produced separately from the game with H content intact;". Theoretically, by working on the all-ages version, you'd be working on the 18+ version, as they are one and the same, except that the all ages version is merely a portion -- although a portion that makes up the majority -- of the 18+ version; meaning it would be finished first. Exceptions are cases where an all-ages version contains differing story content so as to compensate. I do not believe this is the case here, although I may be mistaken.

What do you think about this alternative VN page layout?
Mr Poltroon replied to Tay's topic in Archive
Looks much better. People like links and resources. Those looking for info would probably opt for VNDB anyway. -
People value 10/10s differently. I, for instance, use them to rate things completely subjectively, basing the rating entirely on my enjoyment. This can mean that abominations with terrible pace like CLANNAD, most of which I thought was average, can still get a 10/10 from me based entirely on how much I enjoyed the latter parts of it. I'm sure there are others, however, who would try to examine the writing, the interface and many other aspects I couldn't give a rat's arse about. To surmise, a 10/10's actual value and meaning varies from person to person. To me, it was an "incomparably enjoyable experience"; to you, I'd guess it's something like "it was flawless", and to others it could be something different.

@Tay Things remain incredibly broken. Allow me to showcase: "Tay plz." When looking at this sentence, the keen eye may notice there's not one, but two spaces between the 'y' and the 'p'. However, this is too much for the Link Tool to handle. When I try to link "Tay plz.", it becomes "Tay plz." The same monstrosity does not morph into existence were I to instead opt for "Tay plz." without the troublesome fiend that is the extra space. Look: "Tay plz." Tay plz.

Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope's Peak Academy (Future & Despair)
Mr Poltroon replied to Eclipsed's topic in Anime/Manga Talk
Perhaps they ran out of ways to tell a story using the traditional gameplay and opted to make it a linear experience focused on the plot instead. Furthermore, an anime can bring the characters to life in other ways the games couldn't, better focusing on their actions and on action in general. They do have plans for more classical DanganRonpa games, but using a completely different cast and setting, so if that's what worries you, worry not. -
Indeed, have a jolly good Birthday, Lewy. Here's my gift.

You shouldn't apologise, you should just not mess up in the first place you dastardly fien- Wait, wrong words. I meant to say: You shouldn't apologise, you're working for the people out of the kindness of your heart, comrade. What you should do, in fact, is release *ahem* superior patches.
