Firewatch might be neat? It's being designed by the designers and writers of Telltale's The Walking Dead Season 1. I still can't really tell what you do in most of it but I don't mind what I've seen of it so far. Destiny is boooooring as hell.

I have to be honest here about this media molecule game. I don't have a clue what I'm looking at.
-
Okay. I'm still not sure if No Man's Sky is actually going to be a fun game to play.
-
Horizon, huh? I really, really like the aesthetic in that. Hunting robot dinosaurs seems fun. Well, that was a cool CG trailer. Hitman Absolution was kind of mediocre, though. Will they be able to top Blood Money, I wonder? Blood Money was a fantastic game that they seem to not want to try to replicate. edit: Can we livepost like this here or will I get hit by the banhammer for doubleposting so much?

Ico looked fantastic, more games should look like Ico. I'm down for Last Guardian.

With Trails in the Sky, It's a little of column A, a little of column B. The Legend of Heroes franchise is a sprawling series with many entries, most of which are not translated. Most of the entries are a part of smaller sub-series that tell their own tale disconnected from the rest (but still set in the same world). Trails in the Sky is not the first LoH game but is the first good one to be translated, and also a really good introduction to the setting. It's also a two-part sub-series, with part 1 being translated and part 2 being released in english later this year. It's really, really good and a strong narrative experience with solid RPG gameplay. It doesn't end on that big of a cliffhanger, imo, so you shouldn't be worried about playing it without the sequel being released yet. If you want a narrative driven game with some gameplay (but not much, not enough to be obtrusive) then maybe you want Telltale's recent games. Start with The Walking Dead Season 1. It's phenomenal, one of the best narrative experiences in the history of games. Requires zero experience with the setting going in. edit: Also, your steam link doesn't seem to work. Make sure you're inputting the username used in your profile link and not your current display name. I found your profile anyways and I see you've played TWD. Well, try Trails in the Sky, it's a solid RPG. It will probably be 50% off at some point in this sale.

Okay, so my impressions on the day so far. For MS, Rare's pirate game looks cool, I want to see what the gameplay on that is actually like, though. Everything else was unremarkable. $150 controller? lmao For EA, Mirror's Edge 2 looks great. They said no guns! I like Battlefield, but I've played enough of that, I think, so Battlefront looks meh. Everything else was again unremarkable. A 10+ minute interview with an old soccer star that had nothing to do with video games was a bit odd. It felt kind of lousy how they were constantly reminding people about Battlefront during other game demos. "Heh, bored by this guy's indie game? Don't worry, Battlefront is just 30 minutes away!" For Ubisoft, I like the setting of AC Syndicate, but I'm still waiting on them showing us the actual game. Also suuuuper skeptical on anything AC related. I'm a big Trackmania fan and the new one looks fun. I'm a BIG Anno fan and I am super psyched for Anno 2205. I've been saying for years that they should take that franchise to outer space and they finally listened! For Honor looks like it could be pretty fun! It's like a 4v4 Bushido Blade with lots of AIs thrown in? I am so down for that. The new Ghost Recon looks like it has a lot of potential. New South Park game looks funny. It's not made by Obsidian but they didn't do much writing on that, anyways. Matt and Trey seem to be doing a good job with the new one. I liked the unscripted banter with that duo on the stage. Aisha Tyler is still the best E3 presenter. So yeah, as much as I hate uplay and a lot of Ubisoft's business and development tactics, they had several pretty good looking games this year. Let's see what Sony has to offer.

1) Do not under any circumstances give Moenovel any money. 2) Shining Force is the best choice here, it's a great SRPG and I like it more than the others. It's a Genesis game, though, so be prepared for something rather old.

Subahibi translation completed now editing is all that remains
Decay replied to douggle's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Muramasa is on the table for JAST, and Makoto was translating it for a fan patch release before he was hired by JAST, he got the common route done. But Nitro+ won't let them actually announce any new licenses until they've released what they've already licensed from them. Hanachirasu was released, Kikokugai was canned, and Sumaga is theoretically close to release, with maybe Django this year, too. Once that releases, expect a Muramasa announcement from JAST. Maybe they'll get the okay to announce it at AX this year but I doubt it. -
Playstation IS Sony. That's clearly what he was asking about.

That 30 game Rare bundle for $30 is a pretty great deal, if only I had an xbone to play it on.

Sony starts today at 9pm eastern.

In case anyone doubted the power of Steam sales, Eden's discount has contributed $30,000 to the Supipara fundraiser. And the 60% discount still has some time left. They're probably going to reach the $100k goal by the end of the sale, and it alone will have contributed half as much in two weeks as Eden's entire first six months.

edit: ^^^^^^ We've known that Sandra Reed leak was bullshit for a while now. Everything that coincided with what has actually happened was previously leaked by Kotaku, and they have since completely denied that Sandra Reed was their source (they would have kept quiet on that for sure and said nothing if she was). There isn't even any evidence that anyone by that name has ever worked at Bethesda. Sandra Reed is a fictional person. Somebody took the Kotaku leak, added a bunch of bullshit to it, and posted it to reddit. Well, Day -1 is over. Tomorrow is Day 0 and E3 starts for real on Tuesday. Today only had that Nintendo championship thing and the Bethesda press conference. Highlight of the day for me by far was Mario Maker. Nothing Bethesda showed really impressed me all that much. Fallout 4 looks like more Fallout 3 with a few extra bells and whistles attached. I already discussed why I'm not excited for that. Although if the quests seem fun enough and the world big, varied, and interesting enough, I may jump in the first time it gets a discount. So far, it looks like the world is the same old generic brown wasteland. Doom 4 looked kind of mediocre. I liked what they were going for. The player was circle strafing, double jumping, etc. They went for an old-school shooter feel, but it feels kind of half-assed. It's not quite fast enough, there aren't enough enemies on screen at any time, some of the weapons look like they lack the oomph they had in classic Doom (what was up with that weak-ass plasma gun?). I dunno, man. I think it might turn out to be a bummer. Dishonored 2 could be cool, but all they had was a CG trailer, so there is nothing to judge. Mario Maker though? Holy crap, that looks awesome. If you missed it, the final segment of the nintendo world championship was held in Mario Maker, showing what it's truly capable of to the public for the first time. Years ago, I was a fan of SMW rom hacks. I kind of fell off that wagon at some point, but this has really got me itching for some more custom Mario levels. The depth of creativity allowed seems pretty immense. There are a ton of toys level creators can play with that they don't get with SMW romhacks. The only thing missing for me is confirmation on whether or not you can create campaigns, or if you're always going to be limited to sharing single levels at a time. I don't have a Wii U, but this game is actually the biggest argument for me getting one. I'm a such a Mario fanboy. edit 2: Here is a link to the Mario Maker segment of that nintendo stream, it's really dang cool: http://www.twitch.tv/nintendo/v/6181714?t=3h35m35s Oh and I guess it's been renamed to Super Mario Maker, that's cool. There was some concern when it was first announced that Mario Maker would be way too limited. The levels they demonstrated were all very small, and they all used the same physics engine from New Super Mario Brothers, the tileset used was purely cosmetic. It seems over the last year they have massively expanded on the game. The levels can be huge, they can use the physics and controls from SMB1, 3, World, or NSMB, and there are so many cool looking hazards and power ups. It has really shaped up.

I would say the average Civ campaign lasts about 6-8 hours once you get used to how things work.
-
My funds are already at $2.50. Welp. Guess I'm not buying anything else.
-
So many of the mods are horribly balanced. I would suggest you just play it unmodded for a few games at first while you get your feet wet.
-
Is this your first major Steam sale? Yes, there's a pretty good chance it will get discounted even further.
-
I don't understand what you want. For the game to give you all cards for free? It's reasonably priced compared to other collectable card games and personally, I've yet to spend a dime on it but have a pretty big collection. Any game where it's possible to do that is okay in my book.
-
Not to mention investing heavily in Naxx enables so many more good decks. Naxx had a lot of excellent cards worth having.
-
Well, as someone who thinks that Civ 4 is still the best Civ game, with the expansions I think Civ 5 is pretty fun in its own way. Without the expansions I thought it was shit, but the expansions add a lot of interesting systems and more strategy. If you get them, make sure you get the Complete Edition bundle since it also comes with all the DLC and is cheaper than the two expansions combined. edit: Or maybe instead consider Endless Legend. It's fantasy, but still a very solid 4X game and it might be better than Civ V, although it's fairly close.
-
The audio works fine for me on twitch, strange. And it requires buying about $25 or 3500 gold of single player content, 4 wings of naxx and 1 wing of blackrock mountain. That's a reasonably light investment when you consider how expensive many other decks are. Any deck with more than one legendary is probably a more substantial investment.
-
That's an awfully reductive way of looking at things. I'm pretty sure the people who were saying he missed lethal at first were actually kind of wrong, because the paths they lead him down at first were incorrect. It took a while for someone with the correct answer to chime up. And I also never said it was impossible to find it on the fly. It's not possible to calculate every single possibility, but it's possible to find the one correct play fast enough to execute it for the win. Either way, it's glaringly obvious that a whole lot of mental math and quick thinking was necessary. The deck needs quick thinking for most games you play with it. I am usually a fairly fast player but I couldn't tell you how many times I roped in the couple dozen games I've played with the grim patron deck. And it's ironic, since this deck is fairly light on your wallet.
-
The thing is, when you have a warsong commander and some other compatible cards along with grim patrons on board, there are so many different ways you can play that turn, possibly dozens. And you have to work through all of them trying to find the most damage. When do I use my weapon? How many grim patrons do I sacrifice? When do I play my dread corsairs, what do I attack with them? When do I whirlwind? etc, etc. http://www.twitch.tv/trumpsc/v/6139003?t=1h44m25s URL should be time stamped but just in case, the match I mentioned starts at 1:44:25. The analyzing starts at 2:02:13 (and yes, doing nothing at the start was probably the right play, armor can get in the way of enabling battle rage)
