You really must. You're looking at one or two negative things someone says about it and disregarding everything else. We've talked about how some characters who should have routes don't. I've talked about how I'm not a big fan of some of the stereotypical harem comedy. But overall Princess Evangile is fine. It's not a bad VN by any means.
-
Where are these bad reviews for Princess Evangile you're talking about? Because they certainly aren't in the thread for it here. The general opinion isn't exactly glowing but it's mostly positive.

There isn't anything like this. If it exists (publicly), it's in VNDB.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN HAPPY FUN TIMES... that's so messed up on so many levels... i need more drink i'm not drink enough to get through this game I mean, well, yes, but they try to frame that in a humorous light, and 99.9% of the rest of the game's humor isn't that dark.

I would say at least five of my wins were achieved when I was pretty far behind on the board and I just bullshitted out some burst combo out of nowhere.

Zelda, when that comes out next decade

This is a slightly less absurd idea than Pokemon x Nobunaga's Ambition. Remember that? edit: Although it's way less absurd of a crossover.... lmao that fucking trailer. High school setting, magical girl transformations, excessive fanservice, and magic motorcycles are not exactly what would have come to mind if you asked me to describe an SMT/FE crossover game an hour ago. I appreciate that they're going balls-out with this.

Another hype train? (07th Expansion's new project)
Decay replied to Vario's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Cross Channel, Saihate no Ima Both of these are considered landmark VNs in some way. Cross Channel has a translation, Saihate no Ima does not. The CC translation is generally considered bad and loses a lot of the quirkiness in Romeo's writing style, so probably read that in Japanese if you can. He really does have a good sense of humor. I think Rewrite's best aspect was the humor in the common route, which is also his doing, but it drags on for a really long time and a lot of other people ended up disliking that part. Cross Channel and Saihate no Ima are much more serious stories, but still rely pretty heavily on humor, especially CC. -

So I think the 1st and 2nd of each month are the easiest time to play the Arena mode if you're into that. A lot of the best players ladder immediately instead of spending time in the arena, and a lot of average and bad players flock to the arena to take refuge from the influx of good players in the low ranks. Anyways, possibly related, I just got another 12 win arena run, it's been a month or so. http://www.heartharena.com/arena-run/8u7ckf The deck kind of sucked in some ways. When it went bad, it tended to go real bad, but it had amazing burst potential if you set it up right. Playing rogue in arena is really tricky because you have to strike the perfect balance of taking face damage and trading, and especially with Sharpsword Oil and Cold Blood you have to protect your board at the same time, but being over-protective has its drawbacks. You have to play a highly tempo-oriented play style, sometimes making very poor value trades, just to keep ahead of the opponent. I think it's the highest difficulty class to learn and play well. Even still, Rogue has my highest rate of 12 win arena runs, but I consider that more luck than anything else. I'm excited for Blackrock Mountain because my two favorite arena classes are Hunter and Shaman, and their new commons are great. Shaman has been really weak post-GvG but I think they'll get a big boost with BRM.

Remember, last year Ayakashibito came out on April 1st. These things happen. In case you needed some convincing, Seiha deleted their progress report post for it, and opened up an issue report thread (http://games.seiha.org/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=1092). I've seen confirmations that it's real elsewhere. Aroduc is pretty dour so I believe him when he says he hates April Fools.

http://tenka.seiha.org/2015/04/i-despise-april-1st-on-the-internet/ https://vndb.org/v3947 Bunny Black is a dungeon crawling H-RPG. The translator (who was also the translator for Kamidori and Romanesque) is eventually moving on to the sequels too. Bunny Black seems like an interesting series and I'm sure there are plenty of you out there who would be excited by this. This is SoufthouseChara's first translated game and most popular series so I'm pretty interested in it. The translator admits the first one isn't particularly great and he's doing this for the sequels, hopefully it's still pretty good. And no, this is not April Fools.

16 common route chapters and 10 heroine route chapters each, actually. I'd say some of the Ritsuko's chapters were longer than any of the common route ones, this probably applies for all routes.

Another hype train? (07th Expansion's new project)
Decay replied to Vario's topic in Visual Novel Talk
The three names are Tonokawa Yuuto, Tanaka Romeo, and Ryukishi07. They have all worked together on Rewrite, they were the three scenario writers on that project. It wouldn't be outlandish if they decided to all work together on another project. I'm a little skeptical because it's going back to the crappy developer art of old 07th games, when with RGD they actually had an professional artist, but if this is a smaller side project for everyone that might explain that. I don't know what the rest of the text says. edit: I should have read Down's post. Probably an april fools joke. This year's April Fools announcement from Key (harmonia details) is much better than last year's. Last year on April 1st they announced that Angel Beats was delayed. -

Paying for translations? Illegal? Been done before?
Decay replied to tahu157's topic in Fan Translation Discussion
There have been translators who have worked on commission before (by that, I mean someone pays them to do a translation and the patch is released for free). I believe Dark Translations/Sanity Ends accepted commissions, but they ran into legal troubles multiple times. I think that was primarily because the publisher whose games they were translating were really anti-fanTLs. Doing fan translations on commission is still a bad idea. edit: There is also the Fun Translations group that actually sold their patches to the public, but they went AWOL and their site is down, and it's impossible to find their patches anywhere, they're just gone forever. -
And I really don't think a plot-heavy Majikoi would even be good. Majikoi is good because it's so light-hearted and fun. Fill it full of drama and you'll ruin it.
-
Majikoi is nothing but happy fun times the whole way through. Each route has some drama, but it's still heavily laced with comedy and absurdity. It fits all of your requirements very well. Yume Miru Kusuri is probably NOT what you're looking for. It's good, but it's honestly quite depressing for a good portion of it, and deals with some pretty serious issues (severe bullying, drug use, etc).
-
Think about how many fuwanovel members would rage if Moro x Miyako was canon.
-
-
I really didn't expect this to be so long. It is seriously on the same scale as Grisaia no Kajitsu. The common route and heroine routes are probably as long as GnK's, except with one less heroine.

I'm a native english speaker and I don't even think the demo was all that bad. It obviously had a few awkwardly written lines but it was a pretty far cry away from horrid. Save that kind of description for the likes of If My Heart Had Wings. The full game made improvements on those bad lines so they're now a non-issue. Outside of the demo content, there doesn't seem to be much wrong about it. There have been a few typos and other such mistakes, but they were infrequent. Aside from those, I haven't taken notice of any badly written lines.
