  1. Koestl did give an estimate for the entire trilogy, and that was early 2016. He seems pretty confident in that. He's a fast and consistent worker, at the very least. Koestl is the translator on the project, BTW. The October estimate on the kickstarter page is really weird and doesn't actually reflect reality. Also they are going to release them as they finish them. So expect Meikyuu in late summer or early autumn.
  2. One of my favorite songs from one of my top five favorite albums of the last ten years. It just builds and builds, and then dat ending.
  3. A isn't a single linear story so... wouldn't that be all the same, really?
  4. The anime is excellent, but it's a straight adaptation of the visual novel, so you don't have to watch it. You should choose one or the other and watch/read that, and maybe go to the other if you become a big fan.
  5. You cannot. The music is owned by the individual creators and the licensing is a bit weird, and there hasn't been any compilation albums released. It's also one of the reasons why some of the songs are missing from MangaGamer's Higurashi release.
  6. There were 6 years between gldsrc and Source. 11 years between Source and Source 2. Expect Source 3 sometime in 2035.
  7. The after stories in Majikoi are seriously just "well we wanted one more h-scene but couldn't fit it in". The ones that are there offer almost no content other than the h-scene. The Wanko one doesn't even really contain an accompanying slice of life or romantic scene. It was just "hey let's fuck in this gym supply shed" "okay ^_^"
  8. Electronic cyberpunk inspired music, this album is a bit darker. The third track (07:50) is a real good one.
  9. I will not be surprised if Valve releases a new game using Source 2 this November to coincide with the launch of Steam Machines, SteamOS, the Steam Controller, the HTC Vive, and Steam Link. Steamsteamsteamsteamsteam. There's a lot of stuff all coming to a head right at that time, and it would be the perfect time to release Source 2 and a flagship title for their new platform. Although I doubt it will be Half Life 3, but maybe they'll surprise me.
  10. Ayamine is boring and all Extra routes other than Meiya and Sumika are totally skippable. Similarly, all endings in Unlimited are basically the same and feel free to skip all but your chosen heroine's (it doesn't even matter).
  11. We can't claim that their titles didn't sell well enough? Ever17 is beloved here but was that series really successful? Here's another question, how successful do you think their other flagship franchise, Memories Off, really was? It was an all-ages bishoujo romance series. How many guys are there who buy those kinds of titles if they aren't from Key? By all accounts the Memories Off titles are pretty average and offer no porn to draw that crowd in, so it is my guess that it's that franchise that sunk the company.
  12. My answer to this could also be the answer to the worst VN ending: Clannad. It felt like such a lame cop-out after everything it built up to. All anime these days are so incredibly average that it's hard to get offended by a sub-par ending. For other examples, I may have to dig deep into the old memory banks but I actually forgot the content of most of the anime I watched from like 2000 - 2010. It probably means that this shit has always been forgettable and I shouldn't have rose tinted glasses for the glory days. Anyways, Evangelion is a real obvious one. Holy cow, what a trainwreck.
  13. The Rewrite protagonist is the best part of that VN, probably, so I'd recommend that. I probably wouldn't recommend Little Busters, Riki's character is such that he's a bit of a follower and a pushover, at least at first.
  14. But only half of the time.
  15. It was a joint effort with Moonstone, the Princess Evangile and Imouto Paradise guys. IIRC, it was actually Moonstone who were primarily responsible for Suika. They used to do somewhat darker charage, before they moved on to bog standard moege and nukige.
  16. "Machine-assisted" is a very scary phrase. At a glance the english seems mostly fine so at least that part is okay, but I don't want to read it if machine translation was used extensively as the source material.
  17. What is this thread about, I wonder?
  18. Tool's Lateralus is probably the only album from my youth that I still listen to on a somewhat consistent basis today. The song Lateralus is one of my favorite songs of all time, easily on my top five. It's one of those things that I think I will never get sick of for my entire life. After who knows how many hundreds of times listening to it over the years, every single time I listen to it again, it feels as invigorating and amazing as the first time. Basically, it's a masterpiece.
  19. I'm one of those weirdos who thinks VR is the future and ten years from now we won't even be using computer monitors at all. I dream of an era where all images are beamed directly into my robotic eyeballs. edit: I would definitely be one of those people in I/O who replaces both eyes with cybernetic eyes. Fuck my actual eyes, who needs em'.
  20. Alt+Tab. Alt+Tab. Alt+Tab. Alt+Tab. Alt+Tab. Alt+Tab. Alt+Tab. Alt+Tab. Alt+Tab. Alt+Tab. Alt+Tab. Alt+Tab. Alt+Tab. Alt+Tab. Alt+Tab. Alt+Tab. Alt+Tab. Alt+Tab. Alt+Tab. You people are killing me. Tip #1: Alt+Tab. Tip #2: Winkey+D as an alternative ploy, to guarantee it goes straight to the desktop instead of some other potentially scandalous window.
  21. It was primarily written by a guest writer (Tanaka Romeo of Cross Channel fame) and it's the least romance-heavy game they ever put out, some of the routes only have a very light romantic element. It also doesn't get into the fantasy stuff until after the super long common route. I think it's a good VN, but its biggest problem is that it doesn't really know what it wants to be and doesn't commit to any one style, instead it tries to be everything. It's a slice of life comedy chuuni action romantic drama with apocalyptic and environmental themes. Yeah.
  22. It's hard to take any scene involving Kazuna seriously, she's such an incredible goofball. But I found her utterly adorable.
