Why didn't you post this in your old thread? Can you give us more information? Which suggestions from the old thread did you try, and what were the results? Which torrent client are you using?

Hobgoblin is one of those cards that gets disgusting once you chain together some strong plays with it. But with a lack of fetch and tutor cards in HS, using it well is exceedingly difficult and heavily inconsistent at the best of times. The problem being that the cards it synergizes with tend to be very bad on their own with few exceptions, so your deck ends up being bad until you get the hobgoblin, then you have to keep it safe once it's on the board.

There's actually a burgeoning spanish fan translation scene. There appears to be a fair number of people wanting these translations. I don't see the point in making these kinds of remarks.

Are you actually going to hold yourself to this? People who make these kinds of remarks aren't actually paying attention to what's happening behind the scenes. -
It seems to be the consensus among all players that the sequel is much better and ends on a more satisfying note. The translation for the first one seems real close to completion, but they seem to be stalling on editing/QCing the final chapters.

Well, they have release dates on some of these projects. It does seem like they want to change how they operate. They let go of the guy who put Hanachirasu up for preorder many years ago and made plenty of other premature announcements, for example. I believe that Starless and Hanachirasu will actually release in the next few months, even if they get delayed again. Sumaga, well, it's hard to believe but the walls they've run into have already been overcome and they really do seem to be right near the finish line on that. Makoto has recently stepped down from his role of TLCing/editing every single release, so that probably means his work on Sumaga is done and he's back translating Django again. Seinarukana is legitimately ready for release. The team has done nothing to it for months, they've dusted their hands and moved on already, and claim that it's good to go. I guess JAST is just trying to find a good time to release it. Shiny Days is maybe a little more questionable, they claim it will be out by summer but that assumes they won't decide to overhaul the translation. Makoto's not on the job anymore though so they'll probably just ram it through as is. It's actually a contracted Sekai Project translation, so here's hoping that it's at least a little bit better than their previously released translations. -

Yes, disc 2 is the sequel and also contains after stories. The first disc is still a complete story, so it's not like you just stop halfway through. It is my understanding that it falls into that range, although probably in the low end.

http://notcliche.com/ziddy/oreimo-psp-patch/ After many years of translation, the (first) OreImo PSP game is translated. This is more than the standard cheap anime tie-in that comes a dime a dozen on the PSP, it's a full multi-route VN with its own original storylines. I cannot attest to whether or not it's actually good, however. The translation patch is for a reissued/expanded version that came bundled with a sequel/fandisc, although the sequel is currently in translation and has no patch released yet. There was some concern for the translation since it originally was a Chinese to English translation (meaning a translation of a translation), but partway through the process they decided to ditch the chinese translations and it's now fully translated from Japanese. So if there are any OreImo fans out there, rejoice!

That's not really accurate. I suppose a handful of the dirty jokes have been toned down, but overall the script is still mostly the same and full of crass humor. And where there are differences, Sekai Project will attempt to retain the original version of the script. Here is, as far as I know, the only story difference between the 18+ version and all-ages version of Kajitsu:

Even if you say it doesn't matter, "it's good enough as it is" is a thing people have said about every major technological advancement in history (including many people 10-15 years ago when HDTVs were first hitting the market). Even on medium sized TVs and computer monitors, we aren't yet to the pixel density on most displays where increased resolution would be imperceptible to the human eye, outside of Apple's eyefinity displays. Once we get to that point, THEN we can be happy with what we have... and also when we start going into holographic displays. This is wildly off topic though so let's end the discussion with that.

Or he doesn't know the history of VNs, and how incredibly long it took for them to release the first 1080p VNs. Even now, most are only 720p, and those have only been around for a few years except in rare cases. Japan's PC market caters to people with really outdated PC setups.

All of the h-scenes are in it. The CGs are non-explicit. "All-Ages" is a misnomer, it is not a kid-friendly release.

They added a fair amount of content to the common route, too, and modified parts of Haruka's route, and also changed Kud's ending completely. Basically, it's the definitive version of the game and it's worth waiting for if you have the patience and plenty of other VNs to read first. If you're really hankering for LB, though, just read it now.

The only VNs I can think of that don't have names attached to dialog or voices are the 07th Expansion ones. That can be a little confusing every once in a while, but I was able to tell who was saying what 99.9% of the time. Usually (but not always) the sprite of the speaker changed. If you miss that cue, though... -

Some bishoujo games have the current speaker's portrait in the corner next to the dialog box, and a rare few do this for the male protagonists as well, even though they don't show a full sprite during normal dialog. Some examples of this are Overdrive's games (Deardrops and later), Duel Savior, and Yumina the Ethereal. edit: In Yumina, the sprites are static but the dialog portraits show different facial expressions, it's weird. I don't think the game's age has anything to do with it, 2008 is well beyond the era of static sprites, which for the most part was left behind in the '90s. -
Okay, well, first of all more people does not always mean faster. That is project management 101. And you typically only want people you know who can produce good quality work to actually work on a project. It can be counter-productive if someone who is poor at english starts editing scripts and they have to go back and redo things. There's also a matter of style, having a dozen people editing scripts can make for some really inconsistent results in the final product, a particular character could end up with a different way of speaking from scene to scene for example. There are other reasons why this is a bad idea but this is the gist of it. They've already enlisted help where it makes sense. Otherwise, wait and be patient.

I get what you mean, but there are reasons behind it. Anime companies don't want to over-commit on what seems like it might be a risky venture, and they also don't want to corner themselves by going too far off the source material, so sometimes they just order a single cour of an adaptation and see where that takes them. This is an understandable approach. This happens in American TV often, only usually they're not adaptations so you'll never see the rest of the story in any form. As for Demonbane, could they have expected that? Why? At the time, there wasn't much chuuni stuff on the market so they probably didn't actually know how it would perform. Demonbane is a very unusual VN, after all. They were probably at least a little bit hopeful, otherwise they wouldn't have licensed it in the first place.
