Same and same. So I googled Examu and their other fighting games look really crappy, too. They did an Aquaplus/leaf fighting game featuring characters from To Heart, White Album, Tears to Tiara, etc. That one was localized, for some mysterious reason.

The thread's entire purpose is just to chat about the VNs you're currently reading. You post a few thoughts about it and people are free to respond. I don't really see what's wrong with this. I think pages of spoilers are ridiculous, but that's another thing entirely. Not every game can support an active thread, especially older ones. If someone has something they want to seriously discuss at length, they should make a thread, but there's nothing wrong with the chit-chat, I see that as the entire point of this thread. And what does "way too popular" even mean? Why does it matter that a thread is popular? edit: I should say that this actually isn't a big deal and we're probably blowing this out of proportion. Maybe I shouldn't have chimed in because ultimately it doesn't really matter much if one or two people post like how Rin does.

This is a discussion forum, posts made here should at least try a little bit to promote discussion. You're basically the only person who posts in this thread the way you do, and I don't think anyone has responded to you so far, so maybe think about that a little.

Make sure you're reading the charts correctly. A large amount of clannad's second day there was actually within the first 24 hours. Kicktraq's tracking of the opening days can be misleading depending on when the project starts.

Kickstarter's rule enforcement is extremely arbitrary. Grisaia's first two days far outpaced Clannad's performance, and I think that has little to do with stretch goals since it's so early. It took Clannad something like two weeks to reach $240,000. It took Grisaia two days.

There's no good way to automate it, apparently, so anyone who does a patch would have to manually add each voice to each line, making sure each one is correct. Anyways, it's not something we can just quickly teach you to do, otherwise the patch would have been made already.

You know, one of the things that makes Symphonic Rain weird for me is just how bad the Fortell sounds to me. Like, this mystical magical instrument that is supposed to be rare and difficult to master just sounds like babby's first casio gotten for $30 down at a walmart. It ruins every song.

They were cockblocked by 5pb on Steins;Gate many months ago, long before the console deal came to be. People have assumed that the reason is because of how easy it would be to get the game cheaper from steam than from within Japan (even though it's in english...). Steam has recently implemented a lot of restrictions to combat that kind of thing, though, so it shouldn't be a major concern anymore.

MangaGamer was in talks with Age over Muv Luv and it actually got pretty serious, we were pretty close to having officially localized Muv Luv VNs. It was supposed to be a three way deal between MG, Age, and Ixrec, but Ixrec wouldn't cooperate and the whole thing fell apart.

The supreme court decision on obscenity has zero relevance here. Kickstarter makes their own rules and has the right to deny projects on any grounds, as long as it's not discriminatory to race, gender, or religion. They can label anything that shows too much cleavage as porn and ban all projects based on that. Of course, they don't, and are indeed pretty lax. They have allowed eroge before. Coming Out On Top is a yaoi oelvn with no all-ages version that went through kickstarter. I want to say there have been other cases where 18+ content has been funded but I don't want to spend forever digging it up. Anyways, this is all moot. You have to convince a license holder ahead of time. And that's not going to happen unless you already have a highly skilled team assembled with a proven track record. And even that's exceedingly unlikely unless you already have connections in Japan or are a proven businessman. Sorry to dash all of your hopes and dreams.

Notably, Aroduc, the translator behind Kamidori and some other stuff launched an unofficial kickstarter for Romanesque but pretty quickly got slammed with cease and desist orders and Kickstarter shut his project down. You can't just kickstart whatever. You need to have a legal right to produce and profit off of what you're offering.

I've actually been trying to get into Symphonic Rain since it's so highly rated but it's just so boring. The dialog puts me to sleep and the terrible art doesn't help. I simply don't understand what anyone sees in that VN. Seriously, what is it that makes it good?

Most romance VNs have elements of comedy but not a lot are focused primarily on comedy. My Girlfriend is the President is one of the very few english translated VNs that are primarily comedy above all else. There's also Edelweiss but I didn't like it very much. Majikoi is funny but it's also extremely long. There are some VNs with funny common routes but drop the comedy almost as soon as you enter a heroine route, like say Kira Kira.

The anime had a positive initial response but it has been getting progressively more negative. Also, a lot of the haters are probably already fans of the VN, while the anime-only watchers may not be aware of how much better the VN is. Anyways, the mere existence of the anime raises awareness of the franchise, which is a good thing for the kickstarter, regardless of the show's reception.

Anyways, call it whatever you want, I think many people can agree that he was simply obnoxious as hell in the Fate route.
