Oh my god, no, please don't do this. That thread is so people can find people with the right skill set for their projects, not so the posters can be harassed with inane bullshit. I can't even believe that you suggested this.

Please stop breaking the site, global mods. Just stop. Like, don't even look at the ACP without asking Tay first.

A Tribute to arunaru - Beat Blade Haruka Discussion
Decay replied to littleshogun's topic in Visual Novel Talk
There's a screenshot on MangaGamer's site with like six h-scenes for Haruka on day 9, that's why I thought I was missing something. So I'd have to play more? Eh... I will say, some of the kainin scenes are pretty fun. -
A Tribute to arunaru - Beat Blade Haruka Discussion

For shits and giggles I decided to give this game a quick spin. I don't think I'm going to finish it or anything, I just wanted to see what it was. How do you unlock more dragon synergy options? After 10 days I only have the first three for Haruka and Narika. You can't. The dice order is set in stone. I actually wouldn't be surprised if it was the same dice order for everyone and if there is no random element at all. Either way, it's clear that there's no way to save scum the dice, outside of trying to find more optimal uses for them and to minimize wasting dice, by spending them on more efficient tasks. -
If all else fails, you can ask for a refund and get it on Good Old Games. http://www.gog.com/game/stardew_valley - 100% DRM free.

I can't watch this video, it's fucking dreadful. Read this op-ed written by Epic Games' founder Tim Sweeney instead: http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2016/mar/04/microsoft-monopolise-pc-games-development-epic-games-gears-of-war In essence, Microsoft's practices are anti-competitive by nature and UWP is an initiative that's aiming to strong-arm the other platforms out of the PC space. Unfortunately for them, it's destined to fail. Consumers and business owners both have an option, and they'll choose the open platform they've been used to all this time instead of MS's overly-restrictive closed platform. As for them "ruining" or "monopolizing" PC gaming, as I said we still have an option. We can just not use UWP. Them keeping new windows features exclusive to their closed platform is anti-competitive, but we can still keep playing games and using apps the way we have been on PC for over 20 years. Microsoft is afraid of going too far, in fear of another antitrust suit. Very, very few developers will release games exclusive to the Windows 10 app store, mostly just MS themselves.

You should just give me ACP access, then I'll ban everyone else who has ACP access in order to prevent this from happening again. My motives are entirely pure.

Welp, it was delayed. http://follow.jastusa.com/post/140437762521/flowersdelay

VNDB lists the game as being partially voiced so I think that's just how it's meant to be.

Anti-cheat in a single player eroge? Oh Japan, let people enjoy the dang game whichever way they want. -
TLWiki, not Commie Subs. Itadakimasu is a word that you can translate a shitton of ways depending on the character speaking it and the context they're saying it. And it rarely matters, beyond establishing character personality and scene tone. Let them have their fun with it.

Yeah, sorry, but I don't have much faith. I mean, it's nice that they're trying, but is this really going to be enough? I hope so... but I think I've run out of faith by this point.

Reminder that Tiag thinks Ikikoi is a good game. -
Except it's not set in rural America? It's set in a weird fantasy land where they could have done literally anything. Not to mention that it's about 92% white as opposed to the real world figure of 77% white in rural america. Well, that's all I'll say on the matter. I don't think most posters care and this isn't really the right avenue to debate about it. I just wanted to say something. Do you know on what level in the mines iron spawns at?
-
After you get one of the normal ends, you have to restart the game from the beginning, don't load a save. Doing this will open up new choices and give you new perspectives on some of the other scenes.

I couldn't afford a ton of strawberry seeds but when I saw them for sale I bought as many as I could with the intent of saving them for next year. I wasn't really sure how fast they regrew and I wanted to get the most out of them... I probably should have just planted them immediately.

Don't judge me.

I've played it a little bit, I'm almost to the end of Spring year 1. While the characters have a little bit more depth to them than Harvest Moon, they still feel lacking, somehow. I guess I shouldn't expect too much from a farming sim, but I just feel like all of the dialogue is so bland. Everyone has their canned lines that reinforces their archetypes and there isn't a hint of excitement or emotion in anything anyone ever says. One of the other games in this genre I've played plenty of was Rune Factory 3, and I felt like the characters were better in that, although a bit over the top at times (that rainbow weirdo...). Well, for an indie title it's probably good enough. You probably aren't looking to hire top-tier writers when making a farming game. As for the gameplay, I sort of wish the sources of revenue were more balanced. Spending time in the mines gives you jack all for gold. In the early game at least, it seems like it's best to stick to farming primarily. A tip for a decent income supplement early on: Build the bridge in the beach area as soon as you can. Corals and urchins spawns in the area beyond it, and they give you a lot of gold for selling them. My first haul gave me like 1500 gold and they keep respawning, about two or three a day. It's just free money, there for the taking! Also I haven't seen any repercussions yet for rummaging through people's garbage. There's never anything valuable, but you sometimes can find food and stuff there, so I always search cans when I pass by and save the food for when I'm mining or something. And I don't want to open a can of worms or anything but... 28 NPCs or however many there are, and only one black person? And no other ethnicities besides hella-white? Surely they could have done better than that...

Just to clear things up, "antihero" doesn't really mean "evil," an antihero is like a Renegade Mass Effect character, the Punisher, or Christopher Nolan's take on Batman. Or for some Japanese examples, Kyousuke from G-Senjou no Maou, or Lelouch from Code Geass.
-
Naturally there's more to Japanese fiction than shounen or moe, but in manga that's most of what's out there. Just going by the raw percentages, there's simply more of that stuff. Same with VNs and charage/moege when you discard nukige.
-
They're far more common in Nukige, sure. Japan tends to dislike anti-heroes, in American fiction they're pretty much everywhere, in Japanese fiction the heroes are much more pure and earnest. They still show up from time to time, and it's no surprise that they tend to be the most popular shows/manga/VNs in the west, even if they aren't in Japan.

Conjueror's Untranslated Visual Novel Tournament [Discussion]
Decay replied to Maxel's topic in Visual Novel Talk
There is a large group of type moon fans who want Mahoyo, there is not a large group of Eustia fans who want that. Therefore Mahoyo is wanted more than Eustia is and it winning is perfectly acceptable. Although I personally could wait on it being translated until the whole series is complete... 20 years from now. -
The Grisaia common route is legitimately the best part of the entire VN. Not saying the other routes aren't good, but that common route is just the absolute best school slice of life comedy you'll see anywhere, ever, and I loved it.
-
I don't expect them to retranslate it from scratch. That would be ideal, but unrealistic. I agree that it is primarily a problem of inadequate management and oversight (see my commentary in this week's VNTS). I feel that JAST was likely unaware of just how bad it was. I mean, anyone could have looked at that demo and thought that releasing it was a really bad idea. Did they expect people to begrudgingly accept it? Doubtful. I've heard stories about how JAST works before and I would fully believe that the translator had no one checking the quality of their work, which there's no excuse for.
