Yes. People often enjoy playing games multiple times, especially games they finished and enjoyed many years ago and wish to revist.

It is, my friend. They will never be able to top The Monitor and they don't need to. The Most Lamentable Tragedy lacks a certain feeling of desperation that The Monitor had and loses some of its impact in the process, but it's still good. Despite being another experimental epic, it feels like they're trying to forge new ground instead of retreading The Monitor's, and they are largely successful. That's my quick review. This year has been a very good year for new music.

The steam monster game was hardly the first of its kind, there have been identical clicker games two or three years ago. This has basically become a genre of its own now, except innovation is limited and it's essentially just a bunch of games plastering a different coat of paint over the exact same game.

Grandia 2 is one of my favorite JRPGs from my teenage years, so naturally I'm interested in this. They're doing a real shit job on the hd upscale, though. It looks like a lot of the interface elements are stretched, there's aliasing, it's still in 4:3, and basically it looks no better than just running it on an emulator.

I've listened to DEATH MAGIC by HEALTH twice now and it's really really good. I like it a lot, but I also don't typically listen to Health so that probably means that Health fans will hate it. I don't know. I can't link it here though because the copyright police will send me to guantanamo. So instead, here's what I'm currently listening to as I type this:

Yeah, pretty much. A lot of still shots of characters standing perfectly still and talking. And they don't even animate the mouths a lot of the time. Whenever a character does something, like, say, take a bite of some food, they awkwardly cut away in a really obvious fashion so you hear what they're doing but can't see it. There is very little actual animation.

Kouryou mentioned Oretsuba on the MG forums before, and at the time he didn't mention any licensing issues, and simply said the game is too long and too slang-heavy, it's translatable but it would be an expensive and time consuming effort and they didn't believe that they could turn a profit on it with their current sale figures. That was pre-steam. I suppose conjueror would know more than us about potential licensing issues. Although I suspect the issue would simply be that the voices are too expensive to license due to the sheer amount of voicework. Again, it's a matter of profitability. Tsuriotsu not being licensed is just something I don't really understand. It's not all that long and content-wise it seems right in MG's wheelhouse, there should be nothing holding back a licensing deal, and it's a well regarded series. I don't fully understand their decision to not license it, but it may be due to its themes being a bit redundant with their other titles. 2012's Otoboku, 2013's Harukoi Otome, and 2015's Princess Evangile all feature all-girls schools, and Otoboku even features a cross-dressing protagonist.

Titus Andronicus' new album comes out today so I'll definitely be listening to that. In the meantime, there's this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t2rti2SgQnc

So here's an interesting thing, some random english speaking dude on twitter responded to a tweet from the Chuablesoft twitter account about their upcoming game asking for an english version, and the president of Chuablesoft actually responded, saying that they're in contact with Sekai Project and is interested in the localization of their games. Sekai Project seems like an odd partner for Chuablesoft considering how heavy with adult content their games tend to be, with no all-ages alternate versions. Sekai Project does have some adult-only games coming out via Denpasoft but they're shorter doujin titles, a lengthy adult-only title would be new for them and I wonder if they would bother investing that amount of resources into something they can't sell on Steam. But even if that doesn't work out, I suppose the upside is that they're interested in localization so it seems like it might happen one way or another. But it's best to not treat it like a sure thing, as it doesn't seem like anything is even close to being finalized yet. For my personal opinion, if a deal with Chuablesoft does happen, I hope it's not for their upcoming game, mainly because I don't dig the art. I actually really like the art in a lot of their titles but their new game's art seems a bit worse, in my initial impressions of their pre-release marketing materials. Their most notable game is perhaps Astraythem, which has been on my wishlist of titles to be translated for a while now. edit: Today was the day of Japanese developers letting things slip ahead of time, it seems. Key may have let slip that Harmonia will be a simultaneous English/Japanese release. http://kazamatsuri.org/rumour-harmonia-to-receive-simultaneous-english-japanese-release-in-2015/

I really hate it when people try to dismiss any complaints about a moege with "it's just a moege". No shit. But also, it does many things worse than a lot of other moege, such as Konosora as mentioned. Moege shouldn't get a free pass on poorly written and overly convenient plot developments unless they take the right tone with it (Noble Works does this well during its opening). The lottery thing was also one of the least problematic parts of its story.
-
PE is definitely overrated here. I thought it was okay, but that's pretty much it. A sometimes charming but largely boring read. The lottery development is certainly convenient. Don't worry, I understand what you're trying to say. This is a recurring problem with the game, it always has the most convenient plot developments. The goons are basically local thugs, not yakuza/mafia.

Continuation! Daitoshokan no Hitsujikai Translation
Decay replied to AnthranDawn's topic in Fan Translation Discussion
AnthranDawn sure isn't continuing, and jaysc has been mysteriously silent through all this. And VDZ's post at the top of last page wasn't meant to be taken literally, he's not involved in any continuation project. So no, as far as I know it's not still happening. -
Can you compare the length of the individual new routes to the length of the routes in the original game?

I'm giving School Days a whirl. Hooooly crap the animation is bad. I knew to expect bad animation going in, but I still underestimated its awfulness. During the scene in the train after the movie, I couldn't actually tell what happened because the animation and direction is so bad. I had to wait for Makoto to describe it to Sekai in order to figure out what transpired. Hopefully it doesn't continue to be a major problem. As for the story, eh. I'm still early. The early drama seemed a bit contrived, but I'll stick with it. I'm also going in blind for my first playthrough. I'm just going with my gut on all the choices and we'll see where I end up. (Obviously the best Kotonoha ending possible. )
-
The School Days HQ walkthrough gives a summary of each ending which seems unnecessary. Also this summary is given at the top of each ending guide, which seems really bad? Not sure what the walkthrough author was thinking. It would be best if they were removed entirely.

That's not even true in the english market. I would bet you anything that the zero escape games sold better than any official english language PC VN release. Does anyone really know anything about how well those versions of S;G sold? I haven't seen any indication on how they performed.

Voted Evolimit. Kouryuu has posted on the MG forums that he thinks translating Asairo would be possible. Granted, he did this a couple years ago and maybe his thoughts have changed, but he's one of the top dogs at MangaGamer so I kind of doubt they'll tackle that one any time soon. I wonder what your thoughts are on that matter, Clephas. Asairo has that reputation that it can never work in English, do you think this is overblown or accurate?

I don't understand what's "unfair" about the root double thing. I'm still okay with using KS for these kinds of things and it's not like they took anyone's money for it already. You've lost nothing so far, so what's unfair about it?
