This game was already delayed, it had that customary JAST delay. It didn't need more. The thing that makes me most mad about this is that it was announced on the day of the expected release. Again. They had to have known that they wouldn't be able to ship it out today if it was actually being delayed for 12 more days, but they didn't say anything until the very last moment.

This is a very standard move that a ton of kickstarter projects go with. This trend started with Broken Age back in 2012 and never stopped. There's nothing to be confused or alarmed about.

I once knew someone in middle school who claimed to be an anarchist. He was super serious about it just like you. Then he actually grew up and became an adult. Maybe you should look into that at some point.

Discussion Seinarukana is (probably) coming out very soon, not that you'd know

Well, if we want to continue to be optimistic, Romanesque's release date was announced only two weeks before its projected date (that eventually got delayed another week). JAST doesn't seem to have much rhyme or reason to its release schedule. edit: As far as I understand, and I might not be understanding this right, the game is finalized and the discs are either printed or are currently being printed, and the only thing they have to actually to arrange is the LE pack-in materials and I don't really know how long that process takes. But that was the status a week ago, so if it is an october release, hopefully it's early. -
MGS1 kind of doesn't have non-lethal. I think even guys you choke out or punch out are considered dead and despawn from the zone. So really, just go with whatever's easiest. MGS2 introduced the tranquilizer pistol and non-despawning enemies (as long as you stay in the same area), and that pretty much changed the entire series' dynamic.

Anor Londo is the pinnacle but I think it was really good long before that. Then again, I actually really enjoyed Blighttown so I might just be some kind of freak of nature.

Valve still reviews every game that goes up on steam, especially from new developers. It's never completely hands-off, the greenlight process just gives you the opportunity to get on as long as Valve determines your game doesn't circumvent their publishing terms of service. I've said this elsewhere, but I think Valve's major issue with this game is that it's free, and thus there are no barriers to entry. Even with the h-scenes reviewed, its subject matter is still about masturbation, and it's pretty crass about it. And of course it's meant to promote an adult title. If the Steam release wasn't free, I think Valve would be okay with it.

Snow Sakura had its amusing moments but I kind of got bored of it after two routes.

Agree on the music. I also don't think the artwork is all that great. And the character development isn't particularly deep, either... Little Busters gets a 4 and this gets an 8, there is no justice in this world.

To be fair, you've quite literally just barely scratched the surface. The thing that's most appealing to me is the depth of the world and how fun it is to explore and discover it while navigating all of the threats, and the Asylum is a poor display of this, and the first half of the undead burg has some side paths but nothing too interesting.

None of the major plot points of Cartagra are carried over into KnS but three of the characters (the protagonist and the main heroine, and one of the police detectives) do show up and they play a mildly important role and deliver some moments that are greatly diminished without playing Cartagra first. Apparently KnS2 has more characters from Cartagra and it sounds like it might connect the two in a more significant way.

Play Cartagra first. So many people make this mistake.

Dark Souls is like a 40-50 hour game for your first playthrough and many people like to play through it multiple times. So yeah, not much better than The Witcher. Actually if you care about rank, you'll just go really fast. I've had some total bloodbaths turn out to be s-ranks because I I finished quickly. Speed is the biggest factor for your score. If you care about being stealthy, there are a TON of interesting tools at your disposal for this.

I agree with their decision to make Alternative a stretch goal. Not meeting it doesn't rule it out completely, it just ensures that they can more reliably get their baseline goal of releasing Extra/Unlimited and chances are those will sell well enough to fund Alternative anyways. But also chances are, they will pull in the $240,000 necessary for Alternative so it's a moot point.

Thank you to they so translate VNs Games and other talks
Decay replied to Novel21's topic in Visual Novel Talk
JAST actually takes their work pretty seriously, which is precisely why it does take time. I think on average, JAST's level of translation quality far surpasses the competition. If they were to open up and recruit more help from outsiders, that would greatly compromise the quality of their work, and I'd rather have delayed games that are well translated instead of rushed messes. It's okay, I'm patient and have plenty of time. -
Majikoi A Translation Project Discussion
Decay replied to twdarkeh's topic in Fan Translation Discussion
It's just a funny tongue-in-cheek approach to the disclaimer you see at the start of every VN ("All characters are over 18 years old"). It's just a joke that plays on the idea that nobody will actually believe it. I don't see the reason for the drama over this. -
The weird part about this is that barely anyone is paying attention to Denpasoft's twitter, nor are they regularly checking its website or anything since they have such a slow trickle of content. And SekaiProject still provides Denpasoft releases with zero publicity. So the only people who are going to notice are people who are reading threads like this. They should have at least put this on MangaGamer as well. For some reason, Sakura Spirit is the only Sakura game on MG.

In b4 the "hilarious" gifs and meme images. Ever since the sales started slipping this was bound to happen eventually. I wonder how much of their popularity on Steam will transfer over to Denpasoft.

Glad I could be of some use. I'm playing TPP on PC, and I have a Phenom II x4 935 and a GeForce 680 GT, which is on the low end of the midrange power spectrum, and I get a consistent 60FPS with max settings. It looks gorgeous and runs amazingly well. Every once in a while I'll get a scene that dips to 45FPS but I don't really notice unless I'm staring at the framerate counter, since it's a pretty slow-paced game. The game has some audio glitching if it runs below 30FPS but this has only happened to me like three or four times in 45 hours of gameplay, at random moments (I think my system started doing things on its own, outside of the game). Long story short, it's super well optimized, probably the smoothest running PC game of its caliber ever. It's incredible how well optimized it is. Anyways, onto what I've been playing... MGS5. The amount of options this game gives you for any given mission is pretty incredible. Seriously, never feel tied down to what Kaz tells you to do. Think outside the box, and try to approach the missions in creative ways, and most likely the game will reward you for doing so.

He says a whole lot of nothing there.
