  1. Really? I thought FFX/FFX-2 were pretty neat. It was a new type of battle system at the time. I guess it could get a bit annoying switching characters in all the time but it certainly made each character feel unique/special to the team. FFX-2 kinda felt like sailor moon when they transformed, lol.. lots of awkward fan-service in that game. Have you played Trails in the Sky for PSP? Vandal Hearts II, Vanguard Bandits, Growlanser Generations, Arc The Lad/Twilight? You should also try Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume, and Fire Emblem series . I loved Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together too (got every single character and storyline). The games I mentioned are all RPGs with strategy/tactical battle systems.
  2. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDOO_Rs0XYM I really love the music in Kara no Shoujo... this song reminds me of Saya no Uta.
  3. That's an easy one. #1 option is way better. You can just save money up to buy the type you would want. It'd be more enjoyable reading in a language you're fluent in. Even if all VNs are free, translating takes a lot of time unless you're super high level (which probably would take a long time to achieve anyways). Would you rather 1) Be alive and have power to see ghosts/dead people (always active). or 2) Be a ghost, and have power to possess the living.
  4. What does 'asian girl fetish' have anything to do with 3d Loli's?
  5. I had dropped the anime after watching a couple episodes.. since it was getting weird and confusing. But I kept hearing people talk about how good it gets later... So I'm re-watching and giving From The New World another try with more patience this time. So far, it's interesting.
  6. For me, I probably liked SAO a lot because I'm a video gamer. I think it did a very good job in making it somewhat believable, like how normal people would actually react in a situation like that (stuck in a virtual world that you can't log out from). So it didn't completely feel random to me like Log Horizon (which I did not like). I've watched .Hack//Sign and tried my best to like it, but maybe too much talking and not enough action got boring.. and the characters didn't particularly stand out to me either. There is good action scenes in SAO that kept me interested, and I think character development was pretty decent. (Although I watched .Hack when I was younger a long time ago and dropped it about couple episodes in... Perhaps I'll try watching it again, and maybe I'll appreciate it more xD). I think it's Kirito & Asuna's relationship that made the anime epic. I mean, how can you not like it? I don't think Asuna represented the Damsel in Distress in the first season.. she was pretty strong herself and was portrayed as an equal to Kirito, which is why they got along/mesh so well.. they were able to tackle high level dungeons together and such. However, Asuna did fit that mold in season 2 (I did not enjoy that season as much as the first one). ~Anyways! Here are my Anime Suggestion: Record of Loddoss Wars, Tower of Druaga, Btooom!, Mirai Nikki, Shiki, Elfen Lied, Fate/Zero, Madoka Magica, Angel Beats!, Claymore, Code Geass, Deadman Wonderland, Escaflowne, Gantz, Ga Rei Zero, Tales of Vesperia/Phantasia/Eternia. ah but most of the ones mentioned are on the darker/action side xD
  7. What if you were lied to!? and she's actually younger
  8. I put a hold on Steins; Gate VN, and currently reading Kara no Shoujo VN. I already got 2 character endings: I'm now trying for the True Ending route I might finish the game tonight^^
  9. Anything that would make you suffer in pain before death. So things like being buried alive, burning to death, etc. o_o I rather be killed instantly. I'll pick plague though. I once read a book called Hot Zone when I was younger, and it scared me. Resident Evil also scared me xD lol
  10. Ummm... I'll choose Avril Lavigne Hello Kitty xD. Its kinda weird but still catchy in its own way. I think I'd get even weirder looks if I was caught listening to Hello Kitty theme song lol. Would you rather: 1) be in zombie apocalypse. Or 2) be in alien invasion.
  11. Which character story are you playing for Xillia? I started out and finished playthrough with the male character Jude^^ he's my favorite fighter. Yeah in Xillia 2, It seems the characters from first game will appear in it^^ so that will be cool. Thanks for the info, I haven't heard about it yet. But why is #2 coming out when there isn't a #1?.. unless I missed it. I think I'vr played the JP demo for Tears to Tiara 2 a bit, its definitely a game I'd love to buy if it came out in english
  12. http://www.siliconera.com/2014/08/04/sekai-project-gauging-interest-localization-visual-novels-key/ From Siliconera Website Sekai Project are conducting a survey to gauge interest in the localization of games from Visual Art’s’ Key label. The survey can be taken here, and asks which games you’d like to see brought over, what other publishers you’re interested in, and other related questions. When we asked Sekai Project to comment on whether or not Key were taking a personal interest in the survey, we were informed that Sekai were conducting the survey more for personal research, and so they could present their findings to Key. Meanwhile, plans are underway to bring Key’s planetarian to Steam. I'm not sure if anyone posted this yet (if there already is one about it, then you can delete this)^^
  13. Yes, I have seen that it's supposed to be coming out soon in couple more weeks (8/19/14). I would like to play it some day myself xD.. I'm already planning to get the other games though so it'll have to wait.
  14. The selection available for RPGs on PS3 aren't very large compared to the earlier systems. But I'll go ahead and name the ones I have, and ones I liked. sorry if they aren't actually what you consider Rpgs xD My favorite PS3 RPG would be Dragon Age. It's a bit on the darker side for story in comparison to the Tales series.^^ But I love kingdom stories like that and the characters are interesting. I actually played the original Kingdom Hearts on the PS2 and really liked it.. so I just name it as a favorite too since it'd been remade for the PS3. If you ever browse the PSN store, you should definitely look up the older classic games for the PS2/PS1/PSP (which are now playable on the PS3) ... there are many great RPGs even if the graphics aren't up to par with the current generation consoles. It'd be a shame to miss out on them by limiting yourself to only PS3 games ;p. I could give you some recommendations if you'd like! Since you seem to like the Tales series so much, you should definitely find a way to play Tales of Vesperia. It's only available on the Xbox for english. And you should try Star Ocean since it's a bit similar to the Tales series. There's also Tales of Phantasia for SNES, Tales of Destiny for PS1 (it's incredible), and Tales of Eternia for PS1. The current PS3 RPG games I'm looking forward to coming out soon currently are: -Dragon Age 3 -Fairy Fencer -Ar no Surge: Ode to an Unborn Star xD I love RPGs too...
  15. Tay, I hope things will get better regarding your personal/family crisis. I'm in support of your direction/changes ^^b so I wish you the best of luck with everything!
  16. Yes I always tend to use it, especially if it's a good novel game that I'm willing to sit through patiently. I adjust the speed enough that I can read it without pause and not have to wait too long until the next text shows up. The only parts that might be slow, is when the voiced parts have to finish even when I've already finished reading. But that's okay, since it's almost like watching an Anime with voices. So, yeah I adjust the speed enough that the pace is pretty similar to watching an anime. When I get impatient though or it's a boring part, I'd turn Auto off, and just click through quickly as I finish skimming/reading.
  17. Ahhhh, I finally got the game to work with VNR! The only problem with it is that it sometimes randomly inserts (n) and (#) characters inside the Japanese Text. And (#n#Speed[5]#Effect[0]#Scale[1]) appears after character names. Otherwise, it's working perfectly for me Oh and the version I'm using is PPSSPP 0.9.8x86. It seems I'm able to open up VNR even before I start the game, and it still works fine that way too. It automatically finds the text hooks for me after I saved it the first time. Thank you so much Jichi for creating this awesomeness! I translated a bit of the game's beginning, but that time I had to type everything in individually to check it. So this will definitely help save a lot of time when I want to translate it ;o. -happyy- yay PSP games!
  18. - Japanese Dictionary Grammar Book (bought) - Kara no Shoujo VN (bought) - Mikasa from Attack on Titans! (gift from someone) I want to get the whole manga series of Gunslinger Girl.... >_< but I'll have to wait on that.
  19. I've always loved books that gave you choices which could affect the outcome of the story & characters. VNs are like that but with pictures. The graphics can be very beautiful too. And I've always enjoyed the Dating Sim kind of games.. the first game I ever encountered something like that was an old RPG PS1 game called Thousand Arms. It was rare to find those kinds of games back then. After finding out about VNs, I saw that they usually contained that element too which is what really got me into playing them in the first place... having the main character interact and get closer to other characters. And my curiosity also got me into the eroge kinds too. But overall.. I guess I just enjoy them. I prefer reading manga/VNs than an actual text-full book probably, since there is more stimulation for me to keep interest and I like the artworks. Maybe it could also be a vicarious thing? -shrugs-
  20. I usually just put the game on Auto and read/watch it like I would an Anime if I like/enjoy it enough. If it gets boring, I sometimes just click through quickly as I skim through the text for the gist.
  21. http://youtu.be/RyTwnoOkvoE I've memorized half of the song so far^^ it's nice to sing along to!
  22. At first, I mostly joined to try getting involved with projects, so I could use what I learned from my jp studies and help out. But the friendly/helpful community is definitely what keeps me coming back to the forums. It's a nice place to meet and mingle with others with similar interests of VNs/games, so I enjoy that the most . It's also a great place to find information regarding VNs and such. And to me, the forums seem very clean/organized compared to other places I've been to.
  23. So.. I wasn't able to find any video games I currently have that have -repeat- option for reading. I remember when I was young, I used to play read-along storybooks which I really enjoyed. Here are some sites I found that have read-alongs where you can pause/repeat. (And Free!) http://www.rif.org/kids/readingplanet/bookzone/read_aloud_stories.htm: Easy children stories. http://www.storylineonline.net/: Video stories that have subtitles, you can read along. http://www.manythings.org/listen/horseman/: There's a lot on that website if you look around for different stories. More difficult stories. Tell-Tale Heart: You can click sentences to repeat them or just read along. This is an interesting one ^^ and more stories on the site. I'm sure there are many other sites like them Good luck!
  24. Yes, I did change emulation settings. But I resetted it to original settings just in case, and did what you told me to do (Fast Memory Unstable is checked). I launched PPSSPP first, played the game a bit until Japanese dialogue showed up. I then opened VNR, attached the PSP game window for it to synch... The next part of selecting text to hook, there is no Japanese Text. The box where you're supposed to select the text to hook is empty, even when I try any of the other options (of the scroll down bar). I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong Do I need to manually insert the H-code.. and if so, do you know where I can find it for that game? So I tried it on other games that has been mentioned to work.. and same thing happens. I'm not sure what's wrong. I'm using PPSSPP v0.9.8 x86, and I downloaded VNR & did the update.exe too.
  25. Catching up with Fairy Tale! Juvia is still my fave xD
