Good surprises... I have a lot of stuff I thought were 'good surprises' but usually I pick up anime based on recommendations, so those are small surprises. Kino no Tabi was really more awesome then I thought it would be. Chihayafuru ended up being my favorite competition anime ever. Recently I discovered the joy of mahou shoujos, and guess what? Heartcatch Precure is an amazing series. Oh, and first time I tried it, I didn't like Mawaru Penguindrum much. Then I picked it up again and watched it through, and it was freaking great. One of my favorites. Bad surprises, not that much either. Well, this season I had some bad surprises, with the two shows I hyped (Suisei and SnK) ending up being a tad disappointing. Yeah, well, actually there's one. Now I'm going to get beaten to death and Ryoji's going to take out his guns, but I'm watching K-On and I don't like it. I find it funny a third of the time at best, I can't seem to get myself to like characters like Yui or Ritsu: it didn't hook me. The concept of making a music band and ending up doing nothing instead kinda irritates me. I can totally like anime where pretty much nothing happens but girls fooling around (I love Lucky Star). But, K-On? I can't.

So that us mods feel like we're useful. (I actually don't know the reason)

Would be excited, but I'm not too sure. The trailer gives me the impression it could well be an all-gory OAV without much credible plot. I definitely hope I'll end up being wrong though. Gotta finish the VNs first, I guess.

TBH I do agree it seems to be a question of fluctuations, I'm not sure there really is a down trend. Some seasons have a lot of great stuffs, others are desperately void of anything really good. Well, the fact that series are being more and more 13-episodes long instead of 26 or even 50 doesn't help to make great stuff though, but we could well be in a slightly down period. Having sex on the forum is a no-go, sorry. Do it via PM please.

I don't know if it's planned to be like that or if it's an error on the TL patch, but I think every versions are like that. At least mine was. And since it was never fixed by Mirror Moon it's probably intentional.

I think walking through the jungle of codecs you need to decipher h264 10bit FLAC whatever videos is about as difficult as mounting an .iso. Which is to say, not a lot. Having the game portable is a convenience, but it doesn't solve what can actually be a problem for VNs that's not on the degree zero, like japanese locale. I don't think we ever had someone in the technical help section that failed to mount an .iso or install a game, yet we had countless japanese locale issues.

Toaru Hikuushi e no Tsuioku?

Yeah, it's definitely from those Tsuioku Hen OVAs. They're said to be really good, better than the TV series. Yet another thing lagging in my backlog... sigh

Useful tip for your future prepatched VNs... You can manually create a shortcut to any kind of file. Including that .exe in your torrent folder. Other than that, I'd say as long as it works anything's fine. The fact is, prepatched games sometimes will require you to mess up with registry entries and stuff to get it to work, which is a pain in the ass. Whereas a .iso makes a clean install. Also, most games offer an 'uninstall' option that makes it easy to clean up your install.

Dude, there's lasers, explosions, badass Misaka, badass Accelerator, the best story arc that has been done so far, a few enjoyable SOL fillers, and it DOESN'T have Touma nor Index. How could this not be the best To Aru season to date?

Oh, on this particular point, everyone pretty much knew that NSA/spying organisms had a way to intrude privacy on the internet. Well, not everyone, but anyone with a certain awareness of what is internet though. Only thing that lacked was an actual proof. People either don't really care or have long accepted the fact that there can hardly be such a thing as privacy on the internet, and therefore you shouldn't spill out anything you wish to keep for yourself on it.
