  1. Same here. There are some 'good but meh' series I wouldn't watch if it wasn't week by week, for example. Yet sometimes I feel like I'm losing something when I have to wait a full week to see the episode... Having my own rhythm is better. I put on hold Psycho-Pass and Shinsekai Yori in Fall for that reason. And there's yet other kind of animes where watching week per week is probably the best format, but because they're made for that (Precure for example) or because hyping the episode the whole week is so great (Chihayafuru).
  2. Hm, this is a subject on which I'm a bit divided. I know people who've been into japanimation for years and years and strongly affirm that recent animes are way worse than what older stuff is. I would defend a lot what has been done in recent year, yet I have to agree with some of their points. I think there has been a kind of shift in anime. It's been going on since quite a few years now: series are getting shorter (most animes are 1-cour) because we're more in a logic of a quickly-consumed product, but 13 episodes is a rather bad length. It's too long to be a movie yet too short to make a full serie. I think that's a reason you feel less impact. Another reason is that studios are focusing on secure values. They're not taking risks. They're adapting mangas, but also a lot more LNs and VNs. And they're making 13-episode anime. And they're trying to appeal a lot more to otakus, while focusing less on the rest, which at some point end up hindering the whole thing. However, I still find every season at least one or two animes I can qualify as very good. I'm enjoying a lot of recent stuff. But I have to admit, I'm currently watching both animes from this season and older stuff, and old series really have a thing for them that seems a bit lacking in recent productions. On the whole, I think there are more animes coming out but the same amount of good things, making a lesser percentage. And I would add that really impactful shows are quite scarce too. There's a lot of good things but barely any groundbreaking stuff. Only things I would call groundbreaking since 2010 would be Madoka (partly for its popularity though) and Mawaru Penguindrum. Haven't seen everything that has been done but no other names come to my mind. Oh, and liking less stuff over the year is, I think, an actual thing. I have yet to experience it but I think part of the reason old anime watchers (but some exceptions like Ryoji) feel not thrilled by recent productions is that.
  3. Galaxy Angel?
  4. And now we can start saying
  5. The comment box thing is bit lousy, but keep in mind the main website is constantly going through optimization and expansion whenever the guys working on it find the time to do so (and we should be grateful they even take the time to do that) and making this system better is not on top of the (quite long) to-do list. I'd advise you to not use it for posting lenghty reviews, and rather make a thread on VN talk or find the existing thread for the VN and dump your thoughts there. This way other people can react to it, etc.
  6. And I'll confirm again that it is indeed correct.
  7. Nope, but chess + Clamp designed hand was way enough. I'm a bit out of inspiration and have to leave soon for the day, so here's next. Feel free to validate yourself if you're 100% confident about your answer, there's no trap this time =p
  8. Please read the sticked post of this forum, and provide a bit more information. Otherwise there's no way we can help you.
  9. Madoka is ultra-popular because everyone, even non-anime watchers, saw it, and it made quite the buzz. Same thing in France, you see it EVERYWHERE at convs and half of the cosplays are Madoka ones.
  10. I would say Code Geass but that sounds too easy...
  11. You need more creativity, Kendjin. You're not going to win the contest with Snowpoke with a Rice thread when you already made that Noodle thread. On a side note, maybe a Food General thread should be appropriate. Or maybe I shouldn't care *_*
  12. Well, I don't believe the answer would be a Key adaptation anyway. It HAS to be a trap. Just that I had no idea =o
  13. Did he try to unmount disc 1 then mount disc 2? The game might require the CD player to be the same (like H: or whatever it is) even if it's a virtual one.
  14. Then there's an issue with your movie files. Try to 1) Redownload them if you didn't already 2) See the links in the previous pages if they are still up, and try to replace your movie files with those 3) Worst come to worst, try to do this: replace the nonworking movie files with working ones, you won't get them but at least you'll be able to play the game.
  15. See screenshot above: you have to right click on the files, open 'properties' and uncheck the 'read-only file' box. Basically it's a problem of using rights.
  16. Implying this topic needs to be kept on-topic. And implying there was an actual topic to begin with.
  17. Let's get this out of the way and blow my 3 guesses since I don't have any idea what this could be. Air? Kanon? Clannad?
  18. Yep. Damn, having to screen over the text to see what you wrote is annoying. And it's even worse for those posts I have to copypaste to see.
  19. I wonder if a lot of people saw this. It's well known, but I guess it's a bit old... Though it's still post-Evangelion.
  20. Texhnolyze! No way in hell I spelled it right.
  21. Yep! Your turn.
  22. Next shouldn't be too hard either:
  23. Hu hu. Chuunibyou.
  24. Some VAs have voices that makes you happy or thrilled just hearing them, because of their voice and their acting. I don't pay much attention in VNs but it's definitely true in anime. For example, Jouji Nakata (Araya Souren, Kotomine Kirei, Alucard...) makes any character a total badass. Wakamoto is quite the thing too, having him as the bad guy in Sharin no Kuni gave a lot to the character.
