Ok, I'll ask you to take all the meta-arguing in there in order to not derail the topic. I'll be moving posts. (I'm done)

I try to always do all the routes. I can't feel like I've finished the VN if I didn't do all the routes. If the VN really hook me I'll even do all the bad ends and read every bit of text I can. I probably read through all the text there can be in Tsukihime and F/SN. If I'm bored by the thing though I might drop it after one route, but I'm not gonna consider I finished it. Eg I never went further than Al's route in Demonbane.

Hey, I can almost understand what's going on here! I couldn't possibly write anything though. Keep up the good work guys, in some weeks I should be able to find the motivation to take up learning again!

I couldn't give the slightest fuck about H-scenes, but I think if they take them out some people won't like it. Plus in some rare cases it could hinder the story, because stuff has to be rewritten. Anyway, as long as I don't have my own income source, I'm sadly not throwing money at things like that :/

I dislike using the auto-read. I just can't stand having an imposed rhythm of text display, I guess. My reading speed varies, sometimes quite a lot, so I like to have control over the speed, otherwise it always feel too slow or too fast.

The art is crap, but once you get used to it you don't mind it anymore. This, and the anime art is... uh... Not really good either. Nor is the animation. But, well, I can understand that argument. Since the anime is good I guess that's fine.

That's so true. You should play the Higurashi VN. The anime IS a good adaptation, but man, that VN is awesome. (I really need to finish Shin Sekai Yori some day. I don't even know why I stopped watching at some point)

Haha, no there are tons of them! There are 9 different series so far, and a new one airing each year. PreCure is just the global license. This one is indeed Dokidoki Precure, the currently airing one.

Not all screenshots will turn up a result in google search, especially if you take them yourself. But still, try to not use reverse image search for this game, it kinda ruins the fun =o

Usually, I sell them as 'Sold as video games but they are more like books with background music and pictures, with a few choices that can influence the story, and a heavier focus on the characters and the immersion'. One-line hardly carry everything I'd like to say about the medium but explaining things quickly is often necessary... The best is probably to show one to explain what you mean by 'books with background music and pictures' and the choices. If the person intend to play some, I might add that they often have shitty hentai scenes but they're not that much of a bother.

F/SN is famous for the 'Tohsaka's anus' scene. Seafood metaphor is in Tsukihime iirc. Though I gotta admit, they were so bad I skipped most of them.

At first Kanon is a one-sided character that can easily become annoying. She's fine at the beginning but you get tired of it quickly. But then you get to her chapter and she becomes a really GREAT character. Of course I guess if you stay set on your first impression and skip her route she could be viewed as annoying, but... There's so much more to this character than what it seems. Well it's true for the other characters too, that's one of the reason this VN is so good.

Honestly, Shiratori is a good character but she was introduced too late in the story. Her chapter was kinda rushed, too. That's probably why she isn't getting much love. Though to be honest all the heroines except Haru aren't getting much love =p

The walkthrough takes you directly to the good end, each chapters also have a bad end. Iirc, the very last choice is the one determining if you'll get the good end or the bad end. Go back to that last choice and choose the other option, you should have the bad end. Kanon's and Tsubaki's bad ends feature a H-scene too. (The bad ends are kinda heartbreaking though)

Hm, actually graphics are one of the least things I care about in a VN. I've never encountered a VN that made me tell 'wow this has incredible design'. Sure, Key works have well-done neat CGs (and terrible sprites...) but they're just rather plain. Nothing much outstanding. Thus I don't really care about doujin VNs with terrible art such as Higurashi or Tsukihime, it doesn't matter as long as writing, story, music and such follow. If I had to choose though, Kara no Shoujo has a really good art and a style I like a lot.
