  1. Romance anime is my favorite genre of anime so I have noticed this many times over the years. Although I still root for the main heroine the majority of the time. Another problem that I have come across, that doesn't really affect VNs as much, is pacing of the romance. Like, if there's a kiss in the first episode, they better be doing it by the last. For me, Itazura na Kiss redefined the female lead in a romance. The main characters had personality traits that you don't really see very often which was very refreshing for me.
  2. Just thought I would share this with all of the people who downed on the idea of fan translating Angel Beats 1st Beat https://forum.kazamatsuri.org/t/angel-beats-1st-beat-translation/1197 I'm willing to bet that the entire Angel Beats VN gets fan TLed before Sekai Project sets their sights on it
  3. I always check out the heroines before I play a VN. Once I have played through the routes of the girls I like I call it good and move on. Sometimes I'll play through routes of heroines who catch my attention while playing a different route, but that only happens on the rare occasion.
  4. Alright so I have been trying to play MOON. for about a week now with no luck. I have both the older version (which won't run on my Windows 7 no matter which Compatability mode I try running it in) and the newer version for XP/Vista/7. The XP/Vista/7 version of the game will run in Japanese no problem but when I try to apply the patch to either version of the game (the patch was released before the XP/Vista/7 version was released so that might be the problem) I get an command prompt window for moon_patch.exe that pops up and then immediately stops working and closes. I can finish the installation process afterward and the moon_eng.exe still shows up in the game directory. But when I go to play the game this error message pops up: I saw someone post somewhere else who had the same problem but it was never resolved. Any help would be much appreciated!
  5. Narcissu or any Key works will suit you well sir Edit: And after looking at your VNDB list, I'm going to have to say Narcissu 100%
  6. Might as well get in on it myself Please add me too. My ID is, you guessed it, Heizei_koukousei
  7. For some reason R11 was kind of depressing for me. Not sure if I was feeling bad for the characters or if I was just getting paranoid, but I definitely remember being in a melancholic state after each time I played it.
  8. Check out the Skyspear Translations website at skyspeartranslations.wordpress.com

I'm pretty dense about some of this stuff, sorry: one of your tweets referenced Supreme Candy's progress. Are you connected to the Supreme Candy TL project? I thought it was these guys: https://supremecandytranslation.wordpress.com/progress/

  9. G-Senjou no Maou because I already have it downloaded
  10. MakuraSoft Their unique brand of humor always appealed to me. Crude sexual comments and over the top antics were actually balanced by the story, which occasionally was rather mundane. Although I doubt it, it would be nice to see them come out of the fringe of visual novel developers with the upcoming release of Sakura no Uta -Sakura no Mori no Ue wo Mau- Oh and their art style. I love their heroines, could just sit there and stare at them all day
  11. I feel like new members are truly daunted by the fact that we have some serious VN lords around. It may make people feel like they can't measure up, which causes a divide between the experienced members and the new members. But that's just my speculation
  12. The problem is that Tay needs to remain the one who makes the decisions, but not be the one who carries out the decisions. This has been in effect for a long time, to a certain extent with the moderators on Fuwanovel. I don't see how people can really complain about the front site. Since the torrents have been taken down, the format that we in place isn't really useful anymore. Its being worked on, not fucking every hour of every day, but it is being worked on. So as you can see, there is a structure in place. But with all the changes that have been happening since the start of the year you can't really expect everything to go according to plan every time. So you say there are problems with the LC. That's not really an issue since we can always, you know, change it. I think you need to be more optimistic. Maybe you should take a break from Fuwanovel, rather than downing on how Fuwanovel is going to die. In fact, Fuwanovel is going nowhere but up. Despite slow changes, there has been a lot of recognition on other sites, and that has brought the Fuwanovel name out from the shadows, in my eyes that's progress enough.
  13. Seriously, don't scare me like that
  14. We might as well just rename Tay King or God or something and then turn one or two global mods into admins. My vote is with Tiago.
  15. I'm from the US, even though I hate to admit it... Always thought you were American as apple pie especially with your Gordon Ramsay kick a while back. But even though you aren't from the US, do you still smell like apples? If so, I might have to take you up on the smelling offer
  16. As a project lead myself I can attest to what Jptje has said. Productivity fluctuates, you can't expect people (especially people who are pretty much volunteers) to be working like a machine on fan translating. Just because there isn't much happening right now doesn't mean that there a bunch of "inactive projects". You really have to be directly involved with fan translating to understand how things work. It seems like people are already forgetting about Majikoi Edit: Clarification has been made, but my point still stands.
  17. Go out and make your life like a visual novel. Kiss a girl with an eye patch, ride the bus to the beach, or solve the mystery of the missing pantsu.
  18. When you just met the heroine and you are already banging. I mean shit, would like to at least get to know her a bit first. Well timed h-scenes are key to sexual success
  19. Proud of you~ You'll be broke in no time
  20. We have acquired our first (and perhaps only) translator. He is rather talented so we may not need to go through the process of translation checking. --In other news-- Shout out to EldritchCherub for making it through 4 script files from the Sayaka route! Keep up the good work~
  21. Ehh I have a love-hate with my handle and nicknames/abbreviations When people shorten it to just Heizei, then Im just average (would rather it just be shortened to Koukousei then I'd just be a high school student) But a past TL of mine used to call me Heizenpai, which I actually thought was pretty funny Now if were talking offline nicknames, I'm quite the giver of nicknames. I have given out names such as Munchkin, Party Guy, and Whyte (to a black guy)
  22. Playing Ever17 helped me understand a lot of things Also the side endings for R11 have some important information (but its kind of a pain to get them all)
