End of prologue is like 50% of common route, then the next 25% is prepping for tournament, and last 25% the actual tournament. Actually more like 40% prepping for tournament, 10% actual tournament..

I had a similar first impression about the... exaggerated flamboyance of the new cast and setting. DR was always a bit wacky in its own right, but DR2 takes it to a whole 'nother level. They eventually grew on me though, to the point I considered DR2 > DR1. We'll see how it goes for you though BTW, Who's best girl so far for ya? ~~ Rin has the potential to be my most favorite VN tsun tsun of all time; if you think about it, she's a glorified Louise: is a mage, has a waaay better familiar, sassier, and is in an appropriate setting/environment for having such traits... Too bad she doesn't have pink hair I especially enjoyed her last minute pep talk in Fate's route (though, pls don't give me any more heart attacks ._.)

Finished Fate's route Uhh 6/10 so far, some of the end game plot revelations regarding the Holy Grail were underwhelming and expected, the drama between Saber and Shirou with his whole "I know what you want better than you do!" was absolutely meh, and the big baddies' "I'm evil for the lulz" was just ._. I would've preferred more confrontations with the other Masters and Servants, more Rin and Archer, hell even more Illya. The route kinda just went downhill after her arc.

I'd say the lack of wordy text guides in the present is more due to the Baby Boomer Retiring phenomenon where all the peeps from 15 years ago that made the walkthroughs became 15 years older and so they retired And then the new generation coming 15 years in are a bunch of kids who grew up with Ipads and 4K instead of CD players / walkmans / grey TV and so they're all too spoiled to make wordy old fashioned text guides and instead resort to half arsed wiki crap. I miss 'em though. They were great.
