  1. It's not, unless your idea of a cash payment is handing your wallet to the clerk and asking them to take the right amount out. Credit has the same problem, but the money isn't actually taken out for several weeks, and credit cards have better fraud protections. The main advantage of credit is that I can take my money back if the vendor doesn't hold up their end of the bargain.
  2. I'm pretty sure I had a credit card before I had an income. That may be specific to the US however.
  3. You really shouldn't use a debit card for online payments. Credit cards have superior consumer protections in the US. My credit card allows me to unfairly skim the profits of vendors though. There's nothing like the satisfaction of collective bullying bargaining. In fact, people like you are essentially subsidizing my purchases.
  4. It's the original 18+ version without the extra missions later added in the non-adult version. And yes, the game is pretty much self-contained.
  5. Is your sound receiver plugged into your video card or your motherboard? Perhaps by HDMI? If so, try plugging it into the other one.
  6. My contacts and other sources tell me that Nutaku is a much bigger player than people realize. Enthusiasts shouldn't dismiss their importance. It's entirely possible that Nutaku could swallow up digital eroge distribution save for the "fringe" titles it won't carry due to content restrictions. Nutaku's main audience is not VN fans. They're targeting the broader adult gaming market. They optimize for search terms like "hentai games" that VN fans wouldn't use, because that's where the audience and money is. Nutaku rebuked me when I said this. However, their content restrictions are pretty consistent with Canadian law, whether that's due to direct or indirect effects.
  7. I don't think so. You should consider requesting this in the VNDB forums.
  8. No, I played the original release.
  9. Why are people blocking me [that] I don't even know? Does this happen to you too? -- Tyr[osyn], 7/22/2016
  10. Experiments like this aren't even allowed anymore. The ugliness they expose is considered to be too traumatizing to the participants. A pity.
  11. Sorry, but you're deluded, and you're spreading your delusions by preying on the vulnerable. Please stop.
  12. It's an encyclopedia entry about a fascinating experiment demonstrating the power of authority to influence us to do things that violate our deepest-held convictions. Only those worthy of nekos will see nekos. All others will see only the sad panda that keeps vigil over the gates to paradise, guarding its sanctity against those who would defile it.
  13. Consider whether Fuwanovel would allow me to post links that are malicious in nature, and if I'd still be around if I had a tendency to do this.
  14. You can see what the link is by hovering over it. It's a Wikipedia link. You're probably safe.
  15. It's amusing to point this out to someone you know (or especially, someone you're working with who doesn't know you that well). The usage as a casual insult isn't so much offensive as ignorant-sounding, but they don't know that and will trip over themselves trying to compensate.
  16. There was an 18+ expansion incorporated into the non-adult version along with changes to the battle system.
  17. On the bright side, you're probably less likely to press the button (one of the dangers of "flexible" thinking).
  18. Yes, I figured. My statement isn't logically/objectively true and I know this. Think of it more as a philosophical musing, a cynical jab at society and human nature, than a statement of fact.
  19. If you want the "full" game, go read the Special Edition. It combines the content from the 18+ and non-adult versions, but it's Japanese-only. Otherwise, your choice is non-adult version or skip. You could always play Seinarukana instead. You won't miss much.
  20. In general, you won't be bashed for conforming to the views and beliefs of those around you, and in fact we expect this behavior of people. Indeed, the inability or unwillingness to conform is generally regarded as maladaptive and undesirable.
  21. Unlikely. JAST has moved on and doesn't see this as a priority.
  22. If you're considering plastic surgery to look Asian, I recommend at least learning Japanese first. Because then neither is likely to happen. That's my tip of the day.
  23. The person who stole your PC is not a 4chan troll. He's likely a criminal trying to make a quick buck by selling the hardware. I wouldn't fret so much about the security risk. You could report a fraud alert to the credit report companies, and that will keep people from trying to take out new credit lines in your name without overly inconveniencing you. I do this anyway even with no reason to suspect fraud. If this was a laptop, then now you know you can't leave it unattended. Ever. If this was a desktop PC, then likely your residence has been broken into and other things stolen as well. Unfortunately, a determined criminal is difficult to stop. All you can do is try to be a little bit more secure than everyone around you and hope they target your neighbors instead.
  24. I'd recommend ELF's Boku no Kanojo ga Gatenkei to start out with. Oyako Rankan is a good choice too, and has actual gameplay. Of Lilim's games, I've played Dark Blue, True Blue, Triangle Blue, I Can, and they're ok but not great. "Do I want to be NTR'd?" decision points aren't the greatest way to implement NTR. Debonosu's Kagura series has a whole bunch of defeat rape, though the heroines are also sort of the protagonists.
