I can't it's so freaking abstract... and no matter what I do I cant keep that word playing which has a lot of meaning, she giving up and the guy like just having an orgasm and not giving a fuck, they are saying the same words and at the same time they are saying the total opposite.

I use vndb to keep a record of what vns I own, I don't use anything for normal games... but that program looks good I might give it a try. EDIT:This is really similar to what steam does with some extra features.

Well I don't fully agree on that, at first it's ok if everyone calls him shepard, specially if he is in a higher position (like you're most of the time) but when you are having sex with someone or talking to a close friends and they still address him as "Shepard" is a bit weird.. specially because he calls them by their names in those situations, for example he doesn't say "lawsome" he says "miranda". if you are between friends in some very casual meeting and they only call you by your surname it will sound awkward. I think it wasn't a problem in mass effect because Shepard sounds really bad ass and so nobody really cared or paid atention to it xD

In some vns if you leave the default name, which is most of the time the same lol (they use what I guess is the equivalent of john doe in english xD) the heroines do pronounce the name without leaving those weird and awkward pauses in between... I also hate it, I think that naming the protagonist is one of the most idiotic and annoying "features" a vn can have.

something like the first half of the movie wall-e? I don't know how a visual novel without text could work... I know homeless girl has a mode with only pictures and not actual text being displayed but the pictures have text on it... so I don't know if it fits on what you are asking.

After many days without reading anything I finally read a vn again, "1993" from a little iris dlc of narcissu, what an amazing tale from Kataoka Tomo, 10/10.

I'm not saying that inconclusive endings are a good thing or that I even like them, in fact I hate them as much as you guys do xD but an inconclusive ending is better than having a bad ending, you can't go back from a bad ending without shitting on the plot itself or pretending that some parts of the story never happened. Now, with an inconclusive ending or a cliffhanger at least they have the possibility to fix it later on... Inconclusive endings are either because of lazy writing like you said or lack of time...
