I tried the baldr's trial, it's only combat, they just throw you into a fight without any explanation whatsoever, they don't even explain you the controls xD (there is a mode where you test the fight and they kinda tell you what the controls and moves are but it should be included in the main option or a menu inside the game itself) ... so I kept mashing z, x and c (I'm sure one of those did nothing but whatever it worked) and I got for some reason an A rank after 10 mins of flashy explosions and some randoms things that were going on (I like to think that I was piloting a TSF and fighting against BETA)

I knew you were going to say that! and I disagree, the exploration is probably a 20% (30% maybe?) of the game, the combat is avoidable (by using text) 90% (maybe 100% i cant remember right now) of the time if you have the right stats, the inventory management is not even needed to beat the game, you spend almost all the time reading dialogues and choosing options, so I think #6 doesn't apply to torment. #7 is a very subjective point, you can force a game to fit in that description or not, why does it have to be framed? What does it mean to be framed? yes there is gameplay but it's really linear, the "open-ended" part it's an illusion in torment, it's not like others rpg were you can go wherever you want, the sandbox map is really not there, you have a map that looks big and feels big but there isnt much to do and you can go anywhere either. But like you said "this one’s a little tricky." just as point #6 There are so many VNs with rpg elements and they are still consider vns yet torment is not consider a vn despite the fact that it has more text than your average vn, maybe it's not your traditional VN per se but it definitely can fit into one. Btw I think torment it's an rpg and not a vn but I'm just saying that by your requirements or 7 points test it could be considered a VN.

Is still an insult if the other person doesn't understand it? For example let's say you start an argument that escalate into insults and you say "you pernicious blood sucker of sleeping men" the other guy will probably say "fuck you!!" and then ask you what is "pernicious" xD So it'd be like saying something in another language, does still count? I don't think so, I believe an insult needs 1) immediate impact (just like a slap) 2) understandable for the other person.

well those are the games he listed down there if I were to recommend him something similar to nekopara I would say anything with a really low score and bad plot in vndb should be good.

tokyo babel or steins gate, I think S;G is a bit longer than tokyo but either way both of them are pretty long, havent read fata morgana but everyone says it's really good. So you cant go wrong with any of those choices. edit: dont wait for boku ga, it might be released in 10 years or next month you never know with mangagamer (yeah im exaggerating but you get my point xD )

you mean fan-translations? probably because is not something very requested so they don't give too much thought about it.

If you mean the OP, the problem with translating songs in general is that you need to edit the video and sync the lyrics with it which is a pain to do and it takes a lot of time... they don't do it probably because of that.

probably my first yuri vn, it looks like the story is good and sad so im all in, I'm not a fan on how degica handles translations (or at least they said they did with muv luv) but hey let's give it a try.

I'm just going to say one thing: long live the dots! xD btw the Japanese language is really smart, you don't have to type the 3 dots separately (which takes a lot of time and it's really bothersome ), it comes in a bundle of 3 "…" , it saves time and you asure yourself of putting the right amount of dots every single time, now if you want 2 or some of its multiples then you can't use them ……… …… … EDIT:I was wrong, they do have it ‥

Well I don't agree with many of your arguments, I just got back home from school I'm so tired that I won't say anything because I don't think it matters, it matter what you believe I don't like subarashi for example, I think it's a crappy and pretentious vn xD but everyone thinks it's a masterpiece so yeah I don't mind if you think sharin no kuni is a bad vn or even the worst that you've ever read, everyone is entitled to think whatever they like.

I read until the beginning of the second day (cant say how much that was) pretty good so far and the japanese was pretty easy/normal too, I wasn't sure if to read it or not but now I will definitely read it till the end... at least 1 route xD
