Narcissu 10th Anniversary Anthology Project
Deep Blue replied to InvertMouse's topic in Visual Novel Talk
With Kickstarter, I personally tend to take more of the donation/support mindset, rather than the "buying stuff" mindset, which is certainly Kickstarter's own intention. I remember well when they first posted this: https://www.kickstarter.com/blog/kickstarter-is-not-a-store. I have a tendency to throw money into a project much more based on how much I like and want to support it, rather than based on what reward I'll get out of it. However, I have to concede that I'm almost certainly in the minority there, and that most people are treating Kickstarter like a strangely unreliable store that sometimes takes your money, and of the times when it takes your money, sometimes doesn't even give you the stuff you asked for, and certainly not on any kind of predictable timeline. I'm rather surprised such people continue to use it at all... And while on the one hand, I can just say all those people are doing it wrong and have nobody to blame but themselves for their consternation when things don't go the way they expect, on the other hand I don't think most of the VN-related projects I've been supporting would actually have been funded without exactly those people. It's a tough situation. Anyway, I threw a bit of money at the Narcissu Kickstarter today, but I have to admit I'm not sanguine about its chances at this rate. I imagine part of the problem is that people are having trouble rationalizing funding what is, to them, a translation of the third game in a series of which they haven't played the first two, even though those two are already freely available on Steam. To be clear narcissu 1 and 2 are related (2 is a prologue of 1 and also a new story) but narcissu 3 is not related to them in any way (the kataoka's story), it's hard to say why is called narcissu 3 to begin with. -

VN Reading Club - Depressive November (Narcissu)
Deep Blue replied to Kurisu-Chan's topic in Visual Novel Talk
They are not doing a remake of any of the narcissu games just new stuff like side stories or the epilogue for narccissu 2nd. The 3rd game (which never got translated) they are going to translate it but only the story that takaoka wrote not the complete game. Hmmm. Are you sure? The Kickstarter is a little bit unclear on this, admittedly, but I do see this quotation in the Kickstarter: It's certainly very light on details; supporting what you say, I definitely don't see anything clearly saying new art for Narcissu itself... but with that quotation it certainly seems possible that's what they're aiming for. you know I have the same doubt as you I posted it here http://forums.fuwanovel.net/topic/12027-narcissu-10th-anniversary-anthology-project/ Now i'm not so sure -

Narcissu 10th Anniversary Anthology Project
Deep Blue replied to InvertMouse's topic in Visual Novel Talk
I don't understand one thing are they going to remake narcissu 1 and 2 or not :/ first they say "With your help we will be remaking the older games with new art, re-recorded voices, and we will also be creating an entirely new scenario!" so from that I assume that aside the 4 new stories (one of them includes narcissu 3) but then they say at the end: "Will Narcissu 1+2 be remade? What about the existing Steam version? There are no plans to touch the existing version of 1+2 on steam, they will remain free as they have been for the past decade. However, we're looking into porting the game into the new engine and possibly including re-recorded voice work in the version that will be included in the special 1+2 collector's box at the $150 tier. We have not made any decisions as to whether a digital version of this collector's box edition will be made available at this time." So are they going to do it or is not a sure thing right now? it's freaking narcissu even with all the issues I have with sp I still want to support this but I'm not so sure if its worth it right now since there is very little content to back this up (sumire looks really interesting and that 1 hour ova but i doubt they can reach that amount of money) -
if what satsuki said doesnt work check this

Play this novel with a guide and pay attention to the choices you make because it is a linear vn,,. one little mistake and you will replaying the same parts over and over again without even knowing why.

I finally did it, so my mistake was on not letting the original mjo file in the same folder when I tried to convert the txt into mjo again so you need to do this text_conv majiro originalfile.mjo yournewfile.mjo > youredited.txt what a pain in the ass, then I just use AE to compress them, also I need to edit both files to make the things i edited to work correctly, when i say both files I mean nar3_00.mjo which contain some lines of the scrip and then the main file nar3.mjo, i guess they did this because all the stories are divided into chapters and you can select them individual but it also checks the main scrip (?) anyway if you dont do this it will generate a chaos....this engine is a mess, the way it handle the lines, for example how you add the furigana lets say I want to write 私達 and add furigana then i need to write it like this 1わたし 2私 3たち 4達 what a piece of garbage... also everytime you go to the next line the program jumps to the next line to, even NScripter was much more robust and simple to work with... I'm not sure i want to spend time with this at all, also when I try to bypass the main files using the update file I need to add the number of the line i want to edit...is just a nightmare to work with. I tried and it works with AE Majiro Arc ver 1.000, with 3 and 2 it doesnt even start it just tell me (I guess) that is a dif majiro ver Thanks both of you for helping me with this. EDIT: for anyone how wants to unpack the files in the future, use arc_conv because AE sometimes it breaks the files so when you try to convert the mjo to txt it will give you a 0k file but it doesnt happen with arc_conv

oh yeah, I know @Deep Blue read the recently, I have it stalled for some reason (I have a bad habbit of being hyped for a lot of vns at the same time, so rarely I cant decide which one I actually wanna stick to :P) I can say without a doubt that is garbage, coming from a company that only makes nukige it wasnt something strange to expect, the MC is a piece of garbage, there is just barely any voice acting, lot and lots of sex scenes that take forever then there is him gathering supplies and doing the same things or surfing the web doing stupid things. The good thing is that is really short like 13k of lines so yeah it wont take much to read Something good about the novel?

should i play saya no uta?
Deep Blue replied to john 'mr. customer' smith's topic in Recommendations
alright, point taken i already kind of wanted to read it, i just needed some people to push me over the line i dunno, i just tend to be scared to step into things i don't recognize. I wasn't talking about you when I said "not everyone can do that" about being open minded I was talking in general, sorry if it sounded that way. -
yeah, sorry it was a typo xD I was referring to the the kingkiller chronicle and it seems that the third one is in the way... about those 8 years... just like George R.R. Martin likes to take his precious time to write so does Patrick Rothfuss

So I'm going mad with this problem...how the hell do I repack the txt into .mjo and then into .arc I tried everything and the files are always 0kb I already tried so many combinations >_> any place where i can find info about this engine specially the text scripting and how to use the tools to pack and unpack the files? EDIT: Using AE i managed to pack the .mjo into .arc but i still cant convert the txt into mjo

oelvn project Death Room [Suspense, Paranormal, optional BxG/GxB]
Deep Blue replied to Dreamgazer's topic in Released
Hi, Deep Blue! Thanks for playing it. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it. Haha, yeah, people tend to tell me they think it's different since the endings aren't the ones typically found in visual novels. My goal was to create a simulation, to make you feel like you were in the Death Room. The "endings" I chose for it felt most natural to me. What'd you think of the characters? Ooh, yeah, this game was meant to be played with the mouse. Let me see if I can tinker with the code and change that, though. Thanks for bringing that to my attention! I really liked ambrosia even if she betrayed me at the end (I took my revenge after that and burned her ) I hated Evie because I really can't stand the way she express herself xD overall all the characters were interesting in some way, also the choices were varied and sometimes even funny so it didn't make the replaying a tedious process. I didn't play as a female character. Btw the sound is a little too loud for the special effects, specially the bombs, I use headphones and everytime someone threw a grenade my ears were in pain. -
seems like we have another feels masochist I love utsuge stories, the more sad and depressing they are the better, if they destroy me emotionally then I know it was a good novel
-
I was wasting my time on tumbrl and saw this photo I was really curious about it at that time I thought it was some anime then found out it was a "game" *I download it then read it and got depressed for 1 month *Did some research about vns then found out that one of the writers took a lot of inspiration in narcissu to write Katawa shoujo so I read it...1 week depressed and that's how everything started

14 dollars for the voiceless edition, if you are going to buy it then you should buy it with voices, it's another whole experience also the voice acting is really good like in most of the akabei novels.

[1] Anybody familiar with such processes knows it isn’t actually a lame excuse. The business world isn't a friendly place, in case you aren't aware. Take a deeeeeep breath Deep Blue, because asking questions while unwilling to accept any answers merely because you want to ‘maintain the rage’ is a philosophy I stopped entertaining a long time ago. [2] Apart from the section on the Kickstarter page where SRL THEY were enhancing the game, optimising systems, and preparing it for overseas release? [3] You backed Sekai to get a product. [4] Because internal business operations are generally none of your business? Sekai aren’t the only ones that have to bow down to the wishes of Japanese Developers, it’s fairly common knowledge that they hold considerable sway and veto power. And some pretty lofty expectations, and weird ways to conduct businesses. A lot of JAST's delays wouldn't happen if working with Japanese Devs were all rainbows and lollipops. [5] To localise the game. [6] I'm not saying this to be mean, but that sentence is completely incomprehensible to me, but that sounded fairly conspiracy in any case. [7] Probably because as a young company just starting out and uncertain of how things are done, they were unsure of what they could and could not disclose to the public? It is obvious there is much they cannot disclose. I make it a point not to defend the indefensible, but people angry at Sekai tend to feel the need to justify the rage with weak excuses . Do you have a right to be disappointed and angry? Sure. But I draw a line at conspiracy theories, and mob-like or abusive behaviour. That isn't good. I won't follow this topic and this conversation further on because it won't change anything and I'm really tired about this issue with WAS, Senjou and everything else related with this. I just wanna say that sekai project was the one that funded the project they gave their company name to S.R.L to finance their game, we pledged to them (SP) and not to S.R.L even if they are saying that they are not keeping the money (which im sure is true) they still are jointly liable with S.R.L for this issue. This was a big mistake on part of SP and I'm mad because they can't apologize to the backers, everyone makes mistakes specially in the business world but if you do something wrong, because is clear that helping S.R.L or whatever the company that is making WAS it was a poor choice of Sekai project (and yes it is our problem because we as backers are in the middle of this problem) and the least thing they can do is to say it "yeah we got screwed up, we are sorry about it" and not just come up with the legal issue thing. Or maybe there really were legal issues...? I don't know why you're so adamant on writing it off as an excuse, but if that's the attitude you're going to take then it really doesn't matter whether SP gives an answer or not because you're so dead set on hating on them. Also, I'm not sure if you fully understand how a publishing company works. Might want to do a bit of research before you start pointing fingers. you forgot the last part I wrote "and if they can't say it directly because they can get into trouble there are tons of way of saying it... without being so direct about the issue." Due to legal issues, on the advice of our lawyers, we cannot talk about WAS - NJ eta: We are still committed to delivering it, we just can't talk about what happened. https://www.reddit.com/r/visualnovels/comments/3rg7y9/sekai_project_and_rvisualnovels/cwnvo4o There's been problems with the Doujin group in Japan, so that project's been a bit of a clusterfuck it sounds like. Why should we accept that lame excuse? why didn't sekai project tell us from the beginning that it wasn't them managing the project. sic "All production work was managed by the circle initially. After September of this year we've taken over" Why did I back sekai when it wasn't them who were in charge of the project and why didn't they tell us on the KS page? And why did they make a contract with them if that was the case? Something isn't right. What does anything have to do with the fact that they uploaded an old patch because nobody really checked anything to begin with and then ignoring repeatedly everything related to that issue (deleting a post on steam that told them about that mistake) and a month later giving that shitty excuse of legal issues which isn't related to the bad management and poor service customer that they have, so did "the circle" manage their steam account and upload files for them? or did their lawyer advice them to do that too huh? Why did we get to know that they were having legal issues after 9 month of the project being delayed? Come on, stop defending something that cannot be defended. I will love to give a lame excuse like that in my life and get away with it. When people don't get an answer, they start making conspiracy theories. When people do get an answer, well, they still make conspiracy theories. Literally no way to make people happy, but I guess that's the community for you ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ You are saying this basically "we don't answer because you are going to start making conspiracy theories" Will answer you "we cannot answer you " are you kidding me or talking for real? I think sekai project should change the company name to "Plead the fifth" is much more fitting. I don't know how you made that logic jump, but the whole premise of that statement is flawed because the question at hand was answered... Once upon a time I thought you were one of the few people who actually had sense in this community, but now I'm not so sure anymore I'm sorry that you think that way now, to be honest this is the first time I have such a grudge against a company I do not like to bash against anyone but if I think that something is not right or is unfair I will try to defend it or at least state my opinion I will hear opinions and others arguments too, maybe I am wrong, after all I'm just a random guy on the internet I don't own the truth either. I just wish that SP could be (and specially in the past) a little bit more..how should I say it upfront and a bit more communicative about some issues. I backed many projects on KS also on indiegogo and this is the first time I have this type of problem.
