  1. Welcome to this week VNTS Review. Since we have Criminal Border Part 3 release, once again I made a parody of Nine series by adding 'Liminal' in front of it (Liminal is from Criminal Border Steam version title, Liminal Border) because both series have same writer and director, and for the subtitle obviously I used the main girl of Criminal Border Part 3, Meryl Hathaway, so we have 'Liminal Nine 3rd Episode: Meryl Hathaway' as the title. As for this week, we have Sekai manage to release Harukuru after a brief delay, although it still didn't contain 18+ contents. Other than that, we have Shiravune release two VNs, the aforementioned Criminal Border Part 3 and Geminism, and some release date announcements. Overall, this week is quite an average one to me, and let's see what I can write in regard of it. For Criminal Border Part 3, we have Itsuki and friends finally manage to set up a foothold in his electronic drug business, although it mean they need to face up with the yakuza group head to head with the yakuza group has enough resources to easily destroy them. So Itsuki decided to recruit a mysterious girl who was introduced as Kotoko's companion, Meryl, into his own group with Meryl turned out have been a member of the overseas syndicate with Itsuki trying his best to make the contact into the overseas syndicate, so that he finally have a way to fighting against the yakuza group and if possible destroying it. All in all, Criminal Border Part 3 is like Nine Episode 3 in which the climax of the part did set up the expectation for the final part with the writer manage to do so in mind-blowing manner, although it seems Life Sentence (The name of Criminal Border Part 4) is not as well received as Nine Episode 4, so perhaps it might be be for the better to temper the expectation. Anyway, I hope that Shiravune announced Life Sentence later, seeing Criminal Border here is kinetic VN separated into four parts. Go get Criminal Border Part 3 if you want to read the continuation of Part 2, and have fun. What I know about Geminism is that Craftwork released this in 2023 in which it's their comeback work after they released Sayooshi (Which also dubbed as one of three legendary denpa VN alongside original Tsui no Sora and Jisatsu 101) back in 2001, so it's their first new work after more than 20 years. They also have plan to release it in English, although back then we think it'll be simultaneous release until we see there's no English support back when Geminism was released in Japan until Shiravune worked on its English translation. Anyway, in here we have the twin sisters was fighting each other in a duel with each twin out to kill their opponent while their supervisor has friendly conversation, and let's just say there's more than it seems if Sayooshi is any indication, with both this and Sayooshi have a fair share of disturbing contents even though this is not as bleak as Sayooshi. Go get Geminism if you've been waiting for it ever since the English translation was announced, and have fun. Sekai manage to release Harukuru back in 21st after a week delay, although unfortunately it didn't have the 18+ contents. That said, Sekai also announced they'll release 18+ version of Harukuru sometimes in Q1 of 2025, which mean we may get the 18+ of it at most in March 31st if all goes well. Well, this fiasco is ended up like Grisaia trilogy when Sekai delayed the releases 18+ of the trilogy, although back then I didn't care much seeing Kajitsu was redundant and the other two are like Kajitsu's fandisc to me. Anyway, while some obviously lament the loss of the sex scenes seeing the prologue was initially set up as nukige, some may appreciate the removal of the sex scenes seeing the nukige-like beginning is hard to go through if someone want to go to Harukuru main story quickly. Feel free to either get Harukuru if you've been waiting for almost seven years since Sekai announced it at AX 2018, or maybe wait for a bit longer until the 18+ version of it released later. Shinzou did the editing work on Sousaku Kanojo for a bit with its current progress is at 32% edited, and they also have another secret project with it is at 11% translated although I don't know if it's for fan translation or official work yet. JAST announced they need to delay Mojika release by a month with the new exact release date is now March 28th later, so let's see if they'll release it at said date or it's just another placeholder date. Apparently PQube has plan to release Iwakura Aria on August 18th later, although said date is only available for physical edition so for now it's still unknown if it'll be released together with Steam version or not. Lastly, we have Kud Wafter All Age reach 90% mark translated with the exact progress is at 91.3% translated, so we should have it fully translated in the near future. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.
  2. For Winter 2025, I check this year Precure, You and Idol Precure (IdolPC), with Toei finally decided to be full blown idol after showing some sign on they want to try it out (Honey in HapCha and Amour MaCherie duo in HugPC with both are anniversary series). For the series, I can say it's fitting to have the Precure singing as the finisher, and I may as well try to watch this fully seeing the last time I do so was back when GPPC aired in 2015. That said, if Toei decided to try some weird experiment even if it's only for few minutes at most, like adding Shin-chan in WPC episode 16, I may consider to drop IdolPC altogether. For the rest, I watch Ave Mujica (To see the story behind MyGo drama), Bureaucrat to Villainess, and Ameku Takao (Which apparently is like House TV series).
  3. Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and for the title because we have Harumade Kururu release delayed along with Visual Arts announced Air exact release date, I decided to make a reference one of Air's OST, Summer Lights, by changing 'Summer' into 'Spring' (Because Harukuru is represent spring), so we have 'Spring Lights' as the title. Anyway, for this week obviously the notable news are both Harukuru delay and Air English version announcement, although we also have Shiravune released Primal Hearts duology on Steam. Overall, this week is a plain one, and let's see what I can write in regard of it. Sekai decided to delay Harukuru release to the unknown date because they suddenly find the issues that need to be worked on. While admittedly encounter big issues before the release is certainly not new (ie Sakura Celebration), I do find the issue that crop up in Harukuru is a bit too convenient, especially with Sekai still negotiating with the license holder regarding of the 18+ assets, and not to mention the staffs post the xeet celebrating the release one day before February 14th (Which admittedly also has a layer of bad planning). Regardless, I have nothing to say other than hopefully Sekai can resolve the issue in Harukuru and finally manage to release it, either in the very near future or sometimes later. Of course, it would be better if they already manage to get the right for 18+ assets by the release time. Shiravune did release Primal Hearts duology on Steam and some other stores, so feel free to get the duology if you've been waiting for Steam release just because getting it on Johren is too cumbersome. They also have plan to release Mashimaro on Steam, although there's still no release date for those yet (The link to the Steam store). Nekonyan did open the pre-order for Koichoco, so you can now order the game if you've been decided to get it from Nekonyan just because it would be easier to install. Like I say earlier, Visual Arts announced Air release, although obviously we already have it translated for 10 years so to me it would be redundant release. That said, if you want to get the Steam version of it in its store, then you can note the exact release date with it will be released on March 5th later. I know the progress for Sakura no Uta is still at halfway translated, although I figure I should inform the detail here. For the detail of Sakura no Uta translation, Shizuku's route is at 85% translated, Zypressen & Marchen (Rina's route) is at 1% translated, Chapter 5 is at 93% translated, and Chapter 6 is at 12% translated. For the reminder, Sakura no Uta has six chapters with Chapter 3 was dedicated to the character routes (Rin, Makoto, Rina, and Shizuku). Lastly, we have Studio Frisay finished Ushieta editing work with the remaining works now are some miscellaneous stuffs before the patch ready to releases, with those works are image editing (Including UI), video editing, QC, and play-testing with it to find the possible remaining bugs. In any case, at least it mean the wait for Ushieta to be available in English is almost done, so you can look forward to the patch if you've been waiting for eight years ever since it was translated by another group with said group dropped it later. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.
  4. Dating sim system most likely is the relic from the past where the developer still focusing on the gameplay, and so they pad the gameplay in there with the MC need to improved himself while he need to pick what he want to say to the heroines carefully before he become worthy to the heroine he seeks, with the player would feel rewarded if he manage to get closer to the girl. This approach is obviously has some weakness in the writing, with some may find the story is very bare boned if they (Understandably) using the walkthrough to get the right steps to get a certain heroine. Obviously, nowadays dating sim system would be quite cumbersome had the player was forced to do so before even hearing the story of the heroines, so the developer gradually removed the dating system parts with eventually the choices was boiled down to chose the heroines. Anyway, when it come to dating sim, the closest one that I played was Fureraba in which it was listed as such on VNDB, and obviously I use walkthrough in order to get through all of the choices. There's also Dokyuusei in which it had its remake released by Shiravune, and the remake version has Easy Mode in case the newer player didn't want to engage with the difficult gameplay much. Since mod Clephas mentioned Persona 3 to 5, I also should mention that Metaphor (Which share gameplay as Persona) has its own Social Link system called Bond, and Atlus did streamline the system even further so the newer player should have easier time to maximize the Bond compared to the old Persona 3. That's all for what I can write in regard of this topic.
  5. Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and for the title because we have Putrika localization announcement along with Tsukiyori new fan translation project, I decided to make a reference of Putrika's developer first VN, Kami no Ue no Mahoutsukai, by changing 'Witch' into 'Maiden' with the latter is from Tsukiyori full title, Tsuki ni Yorisou Otome no Sahou, so we have 'The Maiden on Paper' as the title. For elaboration, the literal translation of Kami no Ue no Mahoutsukai is 'The Sorcerer on Paper' and otome mean maiden. As for this week, there's some releases and announcements, although I find the announcements are more interesting compared to the releases. Overall, this week is another below average one to me, and let's see what I can write in regard of it. Cherry Kiss did release their newest nukige, and well feel free to play it if you like the NTR story about the teenager who prefer mother heroines and like to have sex with them. Kagura Games released the nukige called Welcome to Maison Chichigami which telling us the story about Onimaru who suffer erectile dysfunction because of the overwork at a black company, and in case you wonder Onimaru here is not the reincarnation of the demon lord from another world like Riku of Tenshi Re-Boot. One day, Onimaru heard a rumor about the secret hot sping that capable to cure his plight with he immediately decided to go there, and he somehow ended up in a mysterious mansion which contain of the women with very big breasts. I did read the spoiler and I can say there's much more than the premise indicate, although I'm not sure if I can recommend this seeing the VN is nukige. Still, feel free to get the VN if you interested with it, and have fun. We also have a little sister VN which was developed by Onikiss staffs, and for now we only know it has sickly little sister single heroine along with it'll be released someday in April later. We now have Tayutama exact release date, and said date is April 27th later so feel free if you want to get it despite the lack of the sex scenes. Speaking of exact release date, now we have that for Hentai Prison in which Shiravune will release it on March 4th later so you can note the date if you've been waiting for it. We also have the new company called Kagami Games with the goal to localize more VNs, and their first project happen to be Putrika 1st cut which is Uguisu Kagura VN in all but name with the developer use the name Totometori presumably because of some complicated reasons. Putrika here is apparently to be episodic VN, although from what I heard the first part here is conclusive enough. As for the plan, the company will release Putrika sometimes on May later. Kagami Games also has four more secret projects, with the first project is at 40% translated and the second project is at 10% translated, and for the other two projects there's still no visible progress. From fan translation, we have Ushieta now reach 90% mark edited (To be exact is at 90.6% edited) with Yui's route part 2 is at 13.7% edited, and Sakura no Uta is now at halfway translated. We also have a project to translated Sengoku Koihime (The link to the topic), and currently they finished working up to Chapter 7 out of (Possible) 35 chapters, although it's obviously still a long way to see it available in English thanks to its massive script. Last but not the last, there's Tsukiyori new translation project with the translation is is already reached about halfway done with one heroine (Luna) route fully translated with the team already had the second heroine (Ursule) route is at 5% translated. For now I can only say I hope they can finished the work, so good luck to them. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.
  6. Nice to see that you also now caught up with the anime as well, and I assume that you'll post this at the end of each seasons then. Anyway, let's see what I can comment in regard of Autumn 2024 anime here. Gushing Magical Girl - We have Utena who live in a town without male (I don't know if it's deliberate from the author or not) and have magical girl group as its protector, with Utena herself is a very big fan of magical girl. One day she met a very clearly evil mascot who offer her a chance to become the magical girl, and without thinking Utena accept only to find herself become a cadre of the enemy of the magical girl. While at first Utena was very hesitate to fight the magical girl, soon enough she find herself be very adept at it and more importantly enjoying herself doing so with she will do some torure after Utena beat the magical girl. Well, it's very obvious the main sale point is the fanservice stuffs which caused by Utena when she torture the magical girl, and so the anime studio offer three level of censorship with the Blu Ray version has fully uncensored which obviously attract the people to bought it so much it manage to have second season. By the way currently the series is on hiatus because of the author's health issue, and I hope someday she'll get well and can continue the manga. Girls Band Cry - There are some who didn't like Nina's attitude, so you're not alone in that regard. That aside, this is the anime where Toei show they can do 3D CGI anime very well even with some distortion in the drawing. In here we have Nina who ran away all the way from Fukuoka to Tokyo after a big incident. In there, she met her favorite guitarist Momoka who was quite from her band doing solo live in the road, and Momoka invite Nina to perform as the singer. Obviously Nina being Nina, both of her and Momoka often argue, but in the end they're being supportive to each other. Initially Toei only license this in French, although the English speaking fans soon proving they like the anime with the sales of Blu Ray support the popularity, in which Toei finally allow the anime to be licensed with English sub in last November. Of course, Toei saw the potential profit with Girls Band Cry, and thus they made the compilation movie of this. By the way, Toei did air this at 12 AM which mean this is their first midnight anime with Toei usually aired their anime at afternoon, so I look forward to see more midnight anime from Toei (And they answer it with MGPC 2 was aired in 2 AM). Jellyfish - It's about Mahiru who has problem with her forcing herself to be normal after her friend say her art is weird, and she met Kano who is a former idol going to be unknown Youtuber JELEE. Together with the other two colorful girls, they form a quartet of Youtuber and making MV with their skill. What I can say is the first eight episodes is going well, only for the writer of Jaku Chara (He's the one who write the scenario of this anime) decided to throw a drama in the last third, which while it spiced up the story the staffs was still keep their formula with each characters get their focus at the interval of four episodes so it make the drama dragged a bit. Still, in the end I guess I can say the anime did well enough. For the reminder, the artist also design the character in Tanetsumi no Uta, although it took me until last December to recognize the art similarities despite I did watch this weekly in last Spring. VTuber Legend - For the info, the novel is about to be finished in volume 10 now that the author already satisfied with the story. Anyway, the story is about the new VTuber Awayuki Kokorone with her real name is Tanaka Yuki (Which is only told in the novel) was very frustrated on how she still has low number of viewers. After one of her streaming, Yuki decided to drink her favorite alcohol, StroZero, thinking she already turned off her connection. Turned out Yuki has very different personality which only appear when she was drunk, and also she still turned on her connection so all of her audience watch her stream causing her to become viral. While at first Yuki confused on her sudden popularity, soon she decided to roll with it. The series is pretty much the parody of VTuber with a bunch of reference, and easy to say I learnt more of VTuber compared to Kizuna no Alelle with the latter only focused on the audition to search the sucessor of Kizuna Ai (The VTuber that popularized the concept of it). Whispering - I did hope the anime become another Bloom into You, but alas it wasn't meant to be especially with the studio Cloud Hearts facing several setback before practically bankrupt so much they can't produce the Blu Ray for this with the anime was already delayed once. If anything else, I can say that I hope the anime will be adapted by Cloud Hearts whenever I see the manga or novel that I didn't like. For the story, it's about Hima who was mesmerized by Yori's voice with Hima tell Yori upfront that she like Yori's voice, although Yori think that Hima like her and thus confused with her feeling. For the anime, while I know there are some unadapted chapters, it's already a miracle they be able to make 12 episodes before 2025 if we consider the half year delay, and I can see if they decided to not adapted few chapters seeing even the author acknowledged she wrote the certain arc too long. Love Live Superstar 2 and 3 - I should know that when the staff decided to going back to basic with Love Live it mean that they also will do graduation plot, so the season 2 was ended in such awkward position with the season 3 mainly focused on the first five members preparing for the inevitable graduation while leaving the important task of preparing the live to their junior. Of course, the staff also addressing the remaining plot thread in the third season, especially in regard of Keke which they didn't solve in the second season (I saw the question on why the anime suddenly focused on Keke at MAL, and I can only say the third season is the only chance to resolve the thread). In the end, now that the third season is available, I didn't have much problem with the second season ending anymore, although obviously anyone who watch it in 2022 would be very angry seeing they need to wait for exactly two years to see the continuation of the ending thanks to the artist get a job at Toei to do HSPC art in 2023. Radio - I like to call it as Adachi and Shimamura Radio because the character art resemble those two with the bonus Shimamura's VA voicing the look alike character, Yumiko. For the story, it's about the duo VAs Yumiko and Chika who initially like each other has their meeting in the bad start with the two will fake their closeness in the radio show while in the real life they're argue a lot. Still, each time they argue mean that they'll getting closer with both of them helping each other. I feel like the author was initially only believe that there'll be two volumes novel with the story seems to be like the dramatic climax in each of volume's ending (Adapted in episode 4 and 7) before the novel was greenlighted to be continued, although I may be wrong on this. By the way, I like the ending song that was sang by the duo of the VAs, who turned out to be the idol duo Pyxis. 'Tis' Time for Torture Princess - This is about the very strong human princess who was ambushed by the demon and then get captured. From there she will face several cruel torture with the goal to get as much as secret about the human empire, and the princess will not give the secret even if the demon give her a bunch of food. Of course, being the prisoner of war, the princess was get treated cruelly by the demon, especially by the cruel demon lord who is a very bad father to his daughter. And, ...yeah it's more or less CGDCT with the princess almost always give the secret to the demon, and it's nice the author can still going with very formulaic story even after 258 chapters. It's nice that it got the second season, and I look forward to see a certain character in the second season later. Mayonaka Punch - For the reminder this anime was directed by Paripi Koumei director. Anyway, this anime is about Youtuber Masaki who was cancelled by the people after she punch her friends in one of their stream with Masaki was fired, although her rude attitude is certainly didn't help at all. At night Masaki met a vampire who introduce herself as Live, and Live ask Masaki to ate her blood only for Masaki denied it. However, Masaki give Live the chance for it if Live can help Masaki to get a million subscriber. While that kind of number should be easy for Koumei to achieve in short time, unfortunately there's no Koumei in the anime so obviously both Masaki and Live need to get the subscriber by their own, doubly so without showing Live's vampire power even though it would be very interesting for the audiences (In universe it's to avoid the attention of the people, although out universe it's obviously to avoid the plot resolving too soon). Shy - This is the series about the world where each countries have one superhero, although the main focus is on Japanese superhero Shy who is as shy as her namesake. That said, Teru (Shy's civilian name) still does her best as Japan's superhero even after she was causing someone to be injured, which to be fair is obviously not really her fault even though the people prefer to blame her despite her effort saves a lot of other persons. One day, Teru encounter a creepy boy, Stigma, who have the power to corrupt a person. After dealing with the incident where Stigma tried to corrupt a civilian, Teru find out Stigma is the head of an evil organization, and so start Teru's job to fight Stigma and his cadres of super villains. The staffs manage to make this as two cours anime with it adapt 74 chapters of the manga. That's all for what I can write in regard of Autumn 2024, and see you in Winter 2025 anime post.
  7. As for the VN of the Month for January 2025, I want to say that it tie between Kara no Shoujo 3/The Last Episode and Tenshi Re-Boot, although obviously both are not eligible seeing this is not about translated VNs. For the one that was newly released in Japan, well I agree that it goes to Jiraikei Magical Girl Sakura which ironically enough was also available in English, if only because out of all listed releases it has the most votes on VNDB. For the VN, it's about the MC who met a girl wearing jirai kei fashion (Jirai kei is the Japanese fashion that born in the middle of pandemic) find out the girl is also the magical girl, and then both MC and the girl start to going out while the girl also doing her job as the magical girl protecting the town. For the other two, well Seifuku Kanojo is all age moege which also available on Switch, so no much I can say about it. While for Haou Senki Raimu, it follow the usual magical girl nukige formula where the magical girl heroine could suffer rape from the Arc Villain, which looking from the writer it did resemble Escalayer with the threat caused by the evil alien that the heroine fight against. That's all for what I can comment in regard of January 2025 release.
  8. Late to response here. Anyway, as for 2025 moege release, well none so far besides Tenshi Re-Boot. If you want re-release, then you can keep an eye on both Koichoco and Dracu Riot, and perhaps see if Nekonyan can finally release Sakura Celebration later. Sekai also has about to release Harukuru, although you may better wait until they release the 18+ version of it. If you still need some recommendation, then you can try Da Capo 3 (Also the first and second game), Otome Domain, and Dal Segno. Also if you want more, then you can try Ninki Seiyuu, Kamiyaba, and Klutzy Cupid. Once agsin I hope my recommendation will be helpful to you if you still didn't read those.
  9. For the title of this week VNTS Review, because we have Gensou Manege release with its premise remind me of Amagi Brilliant Park anime, I decided to make a parody of it by replacing 'Amagi' with 'Emma' (Gensou Manege MC), so we have 'Emma Brilliant Park'. For this week, well obviously it's not like the last week despite it still has numerous updates and releases, with the most notable one being Gensou Manege release along with some exact release date announcements from Shiravune. Another release worth to mention is Kaseki no Uta translation patch release in which it's one of the first age VNs, and also the patch that add Hotaru's route into Kiminozo English version. Overall, this week is an below average one to me, and let's see what I can write in regard of it. Once again, a fan group did their best to add Hotaru's route into Kiminozo English version, which admittedly very nice seeing that route was only available for Japanese reader, although in the end it's just a small fix in the middle of the problems surrounding Kiminozo release with it still not restore the sex scenes. Admittedly, some of the sex scenes are disturbing, although it's still no good to remove the sex scenes from the main heroines route. Other than Hotaru's route patch, the group also released the translation patch for Kaseki no Uta with it being the fourth age's release. For the VN, it's about the amnesiac MC who was brought into the mansion by a catgirl together with his little sister, and the mansion owner was told the MC to do his job as a doll trainer. From what I gather, it has science fiction that takes place far in the future of the age VNs (Which may include Muv Luv seeing it was set in another planet with the word Earth mean the long forgotten home planet), and has some map movement. Go get Kaseki no Uta if you want to play the VN that age produce before decided to focusing on Kiminozo and Muv Luv, and have fun. Cherry Kiss announced another nukige, and this time they decided to be frank with the title with said title is 'I Am Motherfucker' with they'll release it on Friday (7th) later. The VN is about the MC who has some problem to make his penis erect was suddenly getting erection after he was tangled by his mother's friend, thus causing the MC realizing he has fetish for mother heroine with he'll do some NTR to the other mothers. JAST did release Hell Academy with it being BL VN about the MC who was trapped in the school by a criminal posing as a police with his bully after the bully force the MC to steal the answer sheet from their school, and from there both the MC and bully was forced to have done a bunch of depravity acts in order to survive. Not my taste, although feel free to get the VN if you're into BL. Speaking of BL, we also have the exact release date for Nie no Machi fandisc, with it will be released on May 22nd later. PQube released otome VN Gensou Manege, and it's always nice to see otome game available on PC even if it's not my taste seeing Aksys and Idea Factory as the one who localize most of otome VNs didn't release those on PC. Anyway for Gensou Manege, we have the MC Emma who is an amnesiac witch find herself led by her father's memento to a traveling amusement park. Beneath the park, Emma find out the park's employee are bound by the park's magic with only Emma's hidden magic capable to freeing them, although the way to access the magic has hidden within her repressed memories with she need to uncover her painful memories if she want to perform the magic. Nevertheless, Emma does her best to unlock the magic in order to help the park's employee, and she'll date one of the handsome heroes while at it. Go get Gensou Mangege if you're in the mood for some otome VN or just waiting for another otome VN for PC, and have fun. This week we have Shriavune announced the exact release date for two of their announcements, Criminal Border Part 3 and Geminism, with they'll release it on 18th and 19th later respectively, so feel free to note the date if you've been waiting for one of those VNs (Or perhaps both). Speaking of Shiravune, they also planned to have released Primal Hearts duology at Steam on 12th later, so feel free to note the date if you want to buy the duology from Steam. We have Ushieta update with it is at 81.9% edited with Yui's route first part is at 69.1% edited. Lastly, we have Sousaku Kanojo update after a while (With the translator was busy with Nagi no Koi Steam version), with it now was fully translated along with 30% edited and its assets is 65% worked on. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.
  10. Welcome to this week VNTS Review. For the title, since we have both Kara no Shoujo 3 (English name is The Shell 3) and Tenshi Re-Boot released, I decided to make a parody of very well known anime, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, by changed 'Ghost' into 'Angel' (TL Note: Tenshi mean angel), so we have 'Angel in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex' as the title. As for this week, this should goes without saying that this is the biggest one in 2025 so far with several releases, with the most notable one are the aforementioned Kara no Shoujo 3 and Tenshi Re-Boot. Other than the releases, we also have Studio Frisay give the big updates in regard of Ushieta after months of silent. Overall, this week is a very interesting one, and let's see what I can write in regard of it. First of all, we have Shiravune manage to release Kara no Shoujo 3 (Or The Shell 3 if you prefer English name) without much problem. Unlike the previous two title, this time Mangagamer still didn't have the chance to localize this, so it's not redundant release like the previous two. Still, you may want to pick all of Shiravune version of previous Kara no Shoujo duology, if only for the consistency seeing Lemnisca did work on the whole trilogy translation. For Kara no Shoujo 3, it's about Reiji who still reeling from the ending of Kara no Shoujo 2 was suddenly find out the mad painter Mamiya Shinzo was dead. Afterwards, Reiji was asked by her acquaintance Stella to help sorting the deceased belonging, only to find out a creepy painting which soon led into another tragedy. Kara no Shoujo 3 here is the last game of the trilogy which mean Innocent Grey deliver the conclusion in here, although I'm not sure if all people find the conclusion satisfying. At least, I can be certain there won't be mosaic in there because Innocent Grey didn't depict the sex explicitly. Go get Kara no Shoujo 3 if you've been waiting for the trilogy conclusion for either a year or nine years, and have fun. After several months of silent, we finally have another update for Ushieta with the update itself is quite big. Said update is turned out the translator keep working on the VN editing, and therefore currently we have Ushieta is at 65.6% edited with three routes (Kaori, Airi, and Nagisa) are now fully edited. The translator also mention that he aim for March release, so let's see if we can see it happen later. Mangagamer released Battle Scarred Homunculus which they announced back at AX, and feel free to get the VN if you've been waiting for it. For the reminder, it's about the alchemist who was betrayed by the kingdom because he didn't want to use his homunculi for war saw a discarded female homunculus full of injury, and the alchemist decided to take care of the homunculus. While the premise is quite nice, my focus is more on Mangamer is finally have the exact release date for Ixseal, with they will release it on February 27th later so you can note the date if you've been waiting for it. After failed to deliver Tenshi Re-Boot into Steam twice (Which is understandable why they went so far to make it available on Steam if people understand the high sales number of Senren Banka on Steam) because of the ban by the reviewer, Nekonyan finally managed to release Tenshi Re-Boot on several other platforms (JAST, Mangagamer, and Denpasoft). For the premise, it's about Riku who has the nightmare was getting kissed by the angel in the dream. Afterwards, Riku find himself suffer from erectile dysfunction which deal a blow to his daily life as eroge fan, although soon later Riku find another shocking reveal with him turned out to be the reincarnation of the demon lord from another world. As if the dramatic reveal is not enough, he also find out the angel in his dream, Noa, come to live together with him, and thus start Riku's turbulent new life. While the premise seems to be dramatic enough, one should be remember that this is Yuzusoft VN, which mean it would be mostly focused on slice of life. If anything else, I can say that Tenshi Re-Boot has high production value. Go get Tenshi Re-Boot if you want the newest Yuzusoft VN, and have fun. Lastly, we have Sekai about to be release Harukuru on the Valentine day (February 14th) later, although it came with some string attached, namely they decided to release the 17+ version first with they negotiating for 18+ version. While at first we can dismiss it as another instance of Sekai's blunder, turned out the situation surrounding Harukuru is complicated, especially with the company seemingly already closed down if we knew the author worked on Silky Plus to developed the last game in Kururu series (Fuyukara Kururu), so it's inevitable the 18+ assets was already change the ownership. While we can say that Sekai should wait until the negotiation is over, I can see if they want to moved on from this. In the end, I can only hope there'll be no long wait for the 18+ version. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.
  11. While most of the voters in both of Erogamescape and VNDB has similar taste when it come to the VN there are definitely some differences, although whether it's influenced by the translation or not is another matter. Granted the way to observe the scores are different, median for Erogamescape and average for VNDB, although there shouldn't be much difference when it come to median and average in Erogamescape, as long as the number of votes is sufficient enough. Also out of all 150 titles, currently we have around two third of it are translated, which comparing to when the video was made there are some new inclusion, such as Mashiro Iro and Hatsuyuki Sakura. Well, that's all for my very belated comment in regard of the video.
  12. Honestly speaking I start to worry about the long silence, although now that you finally give the updates all was well. That said, no much to say here other than good luck on finishing the remaining half of the editing work.
  13. Been playing Yamizome Liberator seeing that it's now available in English, and now that we have Mangagamer is about to release Ixseal (Which I've neen waiting for it) maybe I'll comment on both later, seeing both VNs are more or less the same with both being gameplay VNs with the objective to have sex with the magical girls.
  14. Welcome to this week VNTS Review. For the title, because we have Tayutama announced with its full title is 'Tayutama -Kiss on My Deity-' along with Sacrifice Villain finally released, I decided to make Boku no Hero Academia English title parody (My Hero Academia) because Sacrifice Villain setting is very clearly Boku no Hero Academia setting, so we have 'My Deity Academia' as the title. As for this week, the most obvious things here would be it was less plain compared to the last two weeks. To elaborate more, this week we have Shiravune being active with them released two of their title and announce one of new title. There's also the aforementioned Tayutama announcement, although I can't say that I like the announcement. Overall this week is an average one, and let's see what I can write in regard of it. I did mention that I like to see Tayutama available in English, and my reaction is initially interested after a sudden announcement from a new company decided to bring it into English. However, turned out there's a catch, namely there won't be sex scenes because the publisher also release it on Switch. While granted Tayutama main attraction is not the sex scenes, it's still too bad there won't be translated sex scenes, which is more like Kiminozo or Yoake (Because the fan translator for the latter chose the PS2 backport that had two additional routes in exchange of the sex scenes). Anyway, for Tayutama it's about Yuuri who suddenly met a mysterious girl Mashiro which turned out to be the deity, and Yuuri's life start to change from there. Well, it's more or less a charage, and it'll be released sometimes in this Spring. Oh yes, you can see the Steam store for Tayutama if you want to see some of its translation example. We have Nagi no Koi is now available on Steam, and as it turned out Shinzou Translation did involve in the official translation of it. Well no much to say other than it's redundant release to me, although feel free to get Nagi no Koi from Steam if you want to support the developer with the money (For the info the developer did initially release this as free game). Speaking of redundant release, Nekonyan announced they already have the release estimation time for Koichoco, and they said it'll be available sometimes in Q1 of 2025 (Up to March 31st later) with they already opened the Steam store for it. Again it's redundant release to me, but at least the Steam version should be easier to install seeing it's quite cumbersome to install the original game. We also have Alka gave sudden update in regard of Kud Wafter, and for the update currently we have the all age version of it is at 87.5% translated. Shiravune announced ExS-Tia Concerto 2 with the premise is still the same with the prequel only with the story focused on the other magical girl, Touka. With Shiravune announced its second game even before released the first game, perhaps they may aim for simultaneous release. Also by them announced its second game, I hope they also announced the third and fourth game as well if only to complete the whole tetralogy. They also released Ochingin, in which it's about the MC who have a lot of sex thanks to him have the sugar mommy of a CEO. Lastly, they finally released Sacrifice Villains after almost three years of waiting (The longest record for Shiravune for now) with the artist is the one responsible for Healthy Hentai nukige series. For the premise, it's about the MC who was tasked to rehabilitate three super villainess in setting. However, the way of the MC carry the task is not exactly very heroic, seeing the MC apply a lot of love into the villainess in the forceful manner with several ways. Anyway, feel free to get Sacrifice Villain if you like the art from Healthy Hentai and want to see more of it in this superhero parody nukige, and have fun. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.
  15. Someone did mention they like the ending song for the true ending of Unravel Trigger, so I decided to share it here. Various Sky Enjoy.
  16. Alya - The author clearly realized that have the MC Masachika understand Russian language that Alya used would get stale quickly, so the author understandably mix some plot about student council election. I can only say the result is definitely successful seeing the author manage to drag the election plot up until Volume 9 with it is still ongoing (For the info the arc started from Volume 2 which the anime adapt), and of course the author add more drama in Masachika family just to make it even more dramatic (And dragging even more). Honestly not the kind of plot that I would expect from the title, but at least it's interesting for some (Even though it may annoy some) so much it got second season. Oh yes, the anime staffs know what they did when they chose Sumire Uesaka as Alya's VA seeing she did learn Russian in the past. Fairy Tail 100 Years - The continuation of Fairy Tail which in the similar vein as Boruto, although at least it didn't starring Natsu's son as the new MC. For the story, it's about the titular 100 years quest which was teased in the prequel, and turned out the quest is to kill five dragon gods which obviously would be very enermous task. It's also worth to note the staffs only made 25 epidodes, which seems to be the trend with the shonen manga adaptation seeing One Piece was on hiatus with Toei remaking Fishman Island arc with the new one only have 21 episodes compared to the old one which had 56 episodes. Newbie Uncle - It's about 30 years old Rick who has been harshly trained by the four very strong teammates, and as the result Rick is very strong even though his common sense was shattered thanks to his teammates. The story begin with Rick tried to pass his adventurer test, and he passed despite people looking down on him thanks to his old age. Makeine - It's about the MC who met with a girl who has her heart crushed because her childhood friend go with another woman, and then the MC see more of the girl who didn't get their boyfriend. I can only say that it's quite unique seeing there's no romance between the MC and the female in the work yet, at least in the anime. Pseudo Harem - It's about a theater member who has several girlfriends, or rather one girlfriend who can act as many characters as possible (No idea if the girl can act for 100 characters). So yeah, you better expect romcom anine instead of harem anime. The anime did adapt all of the manga, which make sense seeing the manga was ended long before the anime was aired. Weakest Tamer - It's about the girl in Japan who reincarnated into another girl in the fantasy world, although the girl was very pitiful with she was banished from her village with her skill can only adapt a very fragile slime (And the reincarnated soul didn't even have the line). Nevertheless, the girl pushed on to be successful with her life, and she eventually manage to win over some people who've been wanting to help her with the girl tried her best to help those people with whatever she could. Well that's all for my comment on Summer 2024 anime, and you'll caught up with the recent season in the next post.
  17. Late to comment here. For Getchu, usually the most popular one are the heroines, and most of the number one are the main heroines. However, it seems the little sisters characters are also liked by the voters, as shown with Nanami of Riddle Joker in 2018 poll, Hiyori of Hamidashi in 2022 poll (As you've shown), and Amane of Tenshi Re-Boot in 2023 poll. That said, there's always the exception, like in 2016 poll where Minato of Otome Domain won the poll which is really notable because Minato is the MC of Otome Domain and more Minato is the male who was crossdress as the girl in order to enter the girl academy (Admittedly he was very good looking, so I can see the voters decide to vote for him in 2016). By the way actually Getchu character poll was started from 2008, although it was divided into White side and Black side, with the first place of White side was Haru of G-Senjou no Maou and the first place of Black side was the titular character of Beat Blade Haruka (Haruka). Speaking of male, I can see why Kyousuke won the KEY poll, mostly because he's very cool and more importantly drive the plot Little Busters even further compared to his little sister Rin who supposed to be the main heroine (ie someone who usually expected to drive the main plot in KEY VNs). Nagisa won the 3rd place is also understandable seeing she was the main focus of the successful Clannad anime, in which Kyoani put her more prominently compared the VN which is already prominent given she being the main heroine of After Story part. As for Kanade of Angel Beats, most likely it's because the anime which turned out to be quite popular, although it probably help that it has the VN which greatly expand three of its characters with Jun Maeda planned to make five more of it before he decided that it would be better to not put too much strain on his health in order to finished the hexalogy. Quite neat that four out of top five of Grisaia trilogy are pretty much related to Yuuji's past, although Michiru here is somewhat quite out there. Then again, she may become popular because of her magical girl spin-off. Original trilogy aside, I didn't follow much of the other contents so no much to say other than it's nice of Haruto as Phantom Trigger MC still got the 4th place in the Phantom Trigger poll even though he's not as popular as Yuuji who got the 2nd place with around twice number of votes. I find it somewhat interesting that the vote in VNDB did follow the 1st poll result of Aokana, with Misaki comes first following with Mashiro, Asuka, and lastly Rika, and it should be noted that it only for the main heroines so I don't know if the VNDB poll would have same result had the OP adding Saki for the choice. By the way, currently the VNDB poll has Asuka had almost same vote as Mashiro, so perhaps overseas people may favor Asuka a bit more. I don't know on how Primal x Hearts vote goes on, but at least I'm sure Micchi aka Bicchi is in the top spot because otherwise Marmalade won't made her as the older sister of Primal x Heart 2 MC. Granted people may be disappointed on how she didn't have the route, although it can be chalked up to the VA was already agree to act on the game without voicing the sex scenes and Marmalade need to agree with the contract. As for why there's no Mashimaro FD, I just assume that Marmalade at that time figured out that it would be profitable to just invest their resources into Study Steady. Speaking of Mashimaro, it's quite surprising that Shizuka manage to win the votes with she basically just a kid who in love with the MC too much (I just assume Marmalade made her as the kid instead of teenager like Micchi in order to avoid the same thing only to be failed because some still asking for Shizuka's route). That's all for my very belated comment in regard of this topic.
  18. Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and because we have OELVN Siren's Call released I decided to make the parody of the Winter 2025 anime from Studio Bind, Hana to Shura, by changing 'Asura' from its English title, Flower and Asura, with 'Siren', so we have 'Flower and Siren' as the title. As for this week, well honestly speaking if you follow translation only it's still as plain as the last week, although on the other hand you may like Siren's Call release if you've been waiting for the full version of it, Escape Velocity, seeing the developer finally released it on last Friday. Other than OELVN release, another notable news is in regard of the announcement for a certain GL VN, Hayasaki no Kuroyuri. Anyway, let's see what I can write in regard of this week. Forgot to mention that we also have One Room VN released by Laplacian, although as it turned out it's just 20 minutes VN with anime drawing so it may not worth to get. Apparently one of the reviewer mentioned the developer just copy paste the anime into the VN, which is possible seeing each episodes of the anime only have four minutes each, so perhaps you may get the VN if you didn't watch One Room anime for some reasons. For Siren's Call, well the developer somehow make the story like Frieren with the MC was about to enter the university after resolve the terrifying mysteries in Florida with he about to say goodbye to his friends, although turned out it's not as simple as it looks seeing the MC need to deal with the crisis that he face which mean the adventure is not ended just yet. Anyway go get Siren's Call Escape Velocity from Steam if you're in the mood of mystery OELVN, and have fun. Cherry Kiss suddenly released a nukige about the MC have sex with his boss, and feel free to get it if you're interested. We have three updates for otome game in this week, with PQube will release Gensou Manege on 31st later, Aksys will release DesperaDrops on March 6th later, and Idea Factory unfortunately delayed Temirana release to the next year. Speaking of Idea Factory, turned out the GL VN Hayasaki no Kuroyuri was made by two of its employee, Fukahire (Omega Quintet artist) and Oogi Saya (One of Mary Skelter trilogy writer) with both form a doujin group. Anyway the VN is about the life in the world where a mysterious virus wiped out more than half of the young people with the world start to reeling from it, and our MC Hana (Japanese word for flower) have problem to be openly admit that she's into her female friend Itsuki, doubly so with Itsuki was killed by the accident. After the accident, Hana somehow find herself always repeating the day. Note that it already has Chinese version on Steam, with the developer just mentioned they still planned for English version in their xeet (The link to the xeet), so I'll write more about this when there's more news from them. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.
  19. Welcome to Fuwanovel, and I hope you'll have fun in here regardless of what you have in mind when you decided to join the community.
  20. First of all, happy New Year 2025. Anyway, welcome to my first VNTS Review for 2025 and I should say the first week is very plain. Still, let's see what I can write at this week. Oh yes, almost forgot that for the title since we have Mojika along with Kara no Shoujo 3 about to be released, I decided to parodied the famous The Divine Comedy because the three Kara no Shoujo VNs based on each parts of Divine Comedy (Inferno, Purgatorio, and Paradiso) by changing 'Divine' into 'Duckling' with Duckling is from The Ugly Ducking fairy tale which Mojika title make the reference of. Idea Factory announced they'll release Senjou no Waltz on April 8th later, so you can wait for three months in case you want to play as the ordinary girl who got a very powerful cursed sword romancing several handsome man (And of course have Switch as well). Nutrients revealed they already open the Steam store for Nagi no Koi. which as we know is one of Shinzou Translation project, and they'll release it on Saturday later so feel free to wishlist it if you want to support the developer (Nutrients) even though the release seems redundant. Seeing now it's been 2025, I decided to reveal that there's an effort to translate Tsui no Sora, as in the original Tsui no Sora in which it was known as the three legendary denpa (psychological horror) VNs alongside Sayooshi and Jisatsu 101. What I can say is that SCA-JI already perfected the original game in both of its 2012 remake Subahibi (More like 2009 remake, but whatever) and 2020 remake, but perhaps it's still worth to see the original VNs that got two well received remakes. At the very least, I can say that it'll be far better than the H OVA adaptation. For the progress, currently the team is already fully translated the VN. After three years of no news, finally Sukiuso team appeared again with the team now apparently planned to release the translation patch in the near future with them start the editing work, so let's wait and see if they can finally finished Sukiuso translation work after years of working on it. That's all for my first VNTS Review in 2025, and see you next week.
  21. Well let's just say that it's very useful tool to anyone else who didn't like to read the lines in the VN for the second time, although sometimes it does its job too well because the button would obviously skip everything that already read, regardless if the reader want to re-read the lines or not. Still, the usefulness outweigh it's potential drawback anyway, seeing that it would help someone who stuck in reaching the route that the player want, moreso if said VN has too many inconsequential choices which is prevalent in the older VNs. Said potential drawback is quite rare anyway, in which it only happen in the old Chaos Head where the text keep skipping if the player need to trigger the delusion at the certain instances in order to get the bad ending, and you can only get the bad ending in the second playthrough which mean you already read the lines. For skip the scene, the closest one that we have is skip to the next choice which skip a lot of scenes anyway if the developer didn't make much choices in the first place outside of the sex scenes, and one of the VN that apply that is prominently Yuzusoft VNs. As for the VN that explicitly mention skipping the scenes, well maybe only Fate/Stay Night that still apply it until now. Anyway, this feature is obviously very useful if you want to check the Japanese guide before making the English guide, or maybe checking the gallery seeing it only unlocked after you finished the game. Granted you can also do so with the regular skip, although it's obviously faster if you can skip the scenes. No much to say that the auto mode is mostly useful if you record the VN to make the playthrough to upload it on Youtube, although it won't be useful if you prefer to rush the game seeing auto mode speed is usually too slow if you're fast reader. That's all for what I can write in regard of this topic.
  22. Grandpa and Grandma Turned Young - The series is pretty much the slice of life about the old couple who turned young and how their surrounding adapt with the change, which is interesting. The manga is already ended with the ending is quite bittersweet, with the anime follow suit despite the gap between the material. The New Gate - The studio for this was stretching when they make this seeing they also need to deal with the GL anime Whispering You with A Love Song (Or Sasakoi if you prefer Japanese name) which aired in the same season and time slot, so obviously the animation for both suffer a lot with Whispering staff force to delay the airing for its last two episodes until December 28th thanks to one of GL fans posted the horrible condition that Whispering production staffs face, resulting some people who may or may not pretend to care about the Japanese work ethic lashing out. Anyway, the fact that New Gate can still aired the last episodes on time obviously mean that no isekai fans care enough about this anime, which make sense considering several isekai big title aired in Spring 2024 (Mushuko Tensei 2 part 2, Konosuba 3, Slime 3 even with people calling out the anime has too much meeting scenes). Spice and Wolf 2024 - Considering how Higurashi Sotsu and Gou turned out (Which in hindsight I should realize that it's one of Ryukishi's hasty experiment), at first people was wary on how Spice and Wolf will turned out now that Passione took care of it, and turned out it's really faithful. So faithful in that the first 19 episodes is really resembles 2008 anime, with only the new material start from episode 20 to 25 in which those episodes adapt the volume 4 that wasn't adapted in 2008 anime. Anyway, obviously this is quite successful remake so there'll be second season, in which Passione will adapt the final arc from 2008 anime as its first six episodes. Oh yes, the story here was telling through Holo telling her youth to hers and Lawrence's daughter, Myuri. Level 2 Cheat - Let's just say that people obviously won't watch this for good isekai story seeing it's about the MC who transferred from a fantasy world (Not Japanese) into another fantasy world with he immediately find out that his status jumped out to infinity once he was at level 2. But instead, people watch this for how the studio (JC Staff) using the VAs from The Familiar of Zero to voicing the character based on its role, at least to me. Anyway, after the MC getting his infinity power, he decided to become neutral while making friend with several people, including the demon lord. That's all for what I can comment in regard of Spring 2024 anime.
  23. The thing is I took the score from VNDB, so since Aoi Tori has lower score compared to Mashiro Iro I'd put it above Aoi Tori, and if any VNs scores changing then I'll upgrade the ranking if possible. Anyway, nice personal ranking there.
  24. As for 1980 dorama, I only know Oshin in which it's dorama with 297 half episodes (15 minutes for each episodes) with it got the anime in 1984. More importantly, it was aired in Indonesia in 1986 which make the series become very well known in Indonesia, which back then there's only one television broadcast with the internet is obviously still not exist so it's only the few entertainment the people had, although it really help the series is very popular in Japan and several other countries (Notably Iran and Vietnam). For the premise, well it's more or less the same as the anime movie that you saw with the MC Shin (Also called as Oshin) does her best in pre-war Japan despite her numerous hardship. That's all for what I can comment in regard of 1980's dorama here.
  25. For 2024, we still have some interesting releases. However, this time, we also have several notable old titles officially available in English, such as Kanon and Kimi ga Nozomu Eien, despite the latter having its sex scenes removed by the publishers themselves. Anyway, as usual, I'll list the visual novels that finished translation in 2024. Of course, I may be subjective in my choices of VNs, so I apologize if your favorite VNs are not available on my list. Like my past lists, the scores of each visual novel can and will change in the future. For the info, the scores and the ranking of the VNs below will be according to the VNDB scores for each VN today (June 23rd, 2025). 10. Kakenuke Seishun Sparking (VNDB 7.51) Saga Planets tried to bring the lighthearted VN in 2020, and the result of the attempt is Kakenuke Seishun Sparking, or Forward to Our Sparking Youth in English, which Nekonyan uses as the subtitle. In Kakenuke, we have a young male MC, Tono Yuu, who was left alone with his younger sister by his parents. Left with no choice, Yuu became the provider for the family while he needed to study to get a scholarship at school, leaving him very exhausted every day. On top of that, his situation left him bitter, and he could only think about money instead of having fun. Seeing Yuu's situation, his nearest people are worried about him, so two of his friends, Hibiki and Riri, relentlessly recruit him to their respective clubs, with both clubs having the mission to enjoy youth in their ways. Of course, being money-minded, Yuu was hesitant to join the club because he needed to do his part-time job. Yet, Yuu will get involved in the club's activities despite his initial hesitation. For Kakenuke, while Saga Planets successfully brings lighthearted VN focusing on daily life in an ordinary setting, they still have some knack for writing the dramatic story, as seen in some parts. 9. Karenai Sekai to Owaru Hana (VNDB 7.66) Back in 2023, someone established a fan translation group called Shinzou Translations. At first, most of their works were short and free VNs, such as Rinkaiten no Azrael and Nagi no Koi, before they worked on translating Karenai Sekai. Karenai Sekai is the first game from the developer, Sweet & Tea, which is quite ironic given the remaining VNs from the developer (Kemono Musume and Nekogami-sama) translated by Sekai Project. For the premise of Karenai Sekai, we have a young man, Shou, who travels with the little girl, Ren. One day, they arrive at a town full of flowers. Soon after, they meet with the sisters, Kotose, Haru, and Yukina, who open a cafe, and then Shou agrees to work there in exchange for a bed to sleep in. In the middle of the night, Shou saw the middle sister, Haru, going outside, and he followed her to the hill full of flowers. There, Shou saw Haru embracing a little girl, and afterward, the little girl turned into a flower. Knowing Shou saw her, Haru says she has her circumstances, and Shou can only respond he'll keep praying for the world to end. The game tone is quite somber, which is quite a departure from the writer's previous work, with said work being the well-known Nekopara. 8. Aoi Tori (VNDB 7.66) Aoi Tori was announced in 2021 by Nekonyan, which made Purple Software work with three publishers at that time. While the translation and editing work went without much problem, Nekonyan found troubles with the engine work. Eventually, Purple Software felt the work was too long, so they asked Nekonyan to release Aoi Tori by April 2024, or the license would revoked. Seeing no choice, Nekonyan did their best to comply with the request by canceling the engine work and releasing the game in English, with the Steam version released in June 2024 because Valve rejected the initial build for the Steam version of Aoi Tori. Aoi Tori is about Ritsu, who lives as a priest in an all-girl Catholic school in the middle of nowhere. He has the power to give positive emotions over sex, so he occasionally gets asked for sex by desperate students, making him a little more than a gigolo. One day in his plain life, after he had sex with the desperate student, he somehow got a call from the devil. After the call, Ritsu encounters the cheerful 99-year-old vampire girl, Mary, who says she's back to her former house where Ritsu resides. From there, Ritsu's life starts to get more lively. 7. Amazing Grace -What Color is Your Attribute- (VNDB 7.67) While Cabbage Soft produces Amairo Chocolate to compete with Nekopara, they also made several plot-focused VNs, one of which is Amazing Grace (available in English thanks to Shiravune). While the heroines look cute courtesy of Korie Riko as the artist, it has more than cute character designs, especially the story. The story is about Shuu, who has amnesia and stumbled into the town in the post-apocalypse world. The place itself has some peculiar situations, with the most important thing is the people were going all out to put the focus on art. Regardless, Shuu enjoys his life. At the start of Advent, Shuu and Yune (one of the heroines) eat the strange apples, which in the long run helps them a lot, seeing the town destroyed by the explosions at Christmas, with the apples giving them time travel ability to the Advent's beginning. So, with his time travel power, Shuu makes full use of it to save the town. After using the powers and failing to prevent the explosions several times, Shuu finally finds the town's secret together with his memories. While the story may not satisfy everyone, at least Amazing Grace has interesting talk about art and how to appreciate it. 6. Mashiro-iro Symphony (VNDB 7.72) In 2009, Palette hired Izumi Tsubasu to do the art for their newest VN, Mashiro Iro Symphony, and her art is pretty good-looking. Afterward, Palette released the PSP version, and then it received an anime adaptation in 2011 with Kawamura Toshie (one of the Precure character designers) responsible for its beautiful art. In 2023, Palette decided to remake Mashiro Iro while at the same time also remaking the route for Sana (fan favorite character) from the PSP version, and somehow selling both the remake and Sana's route separately despite almost no reason to do so. A year after that, Shiravune localized the remake along with Sana Edition, and they released it with the English version keeping the Sprite Viewer feature, which is nice because somehow that feature was omitted in the other translated Palette's VNs (Nine series, Saku Saku, Otome Domain) despite no engine change. The story is quite simple; it's about the MC Shingo, who is about to attend an all-girls school that soon faces a merger. However, his road was not smooth sailing because the female students resisted the change. Still, Shingo tried his best to have a good relationship with the female students, and eventually, he managed to get close to them. 5. Kimi ga Nozomu Eien (VNDB 7.79) Before the Muv Luv franchise, Age had Kimi ga Nozomu Eien, aka Kiminozo, which they made in 2001 before they made the anime adaptation in 2003. While the anime saw some success overseas, it took them 20 years before they finally managed to release Kiminozo VN on Steam with English language support, and even then, they cut the sex scenes. While I know the main focus is the story, I understand if people complain about the sex scenes removal. Anyway, in Kiminozo, we have a group of friends, with three of them (Takayuki, Haruka, and Mitsuki) involved in a love triangle. Things get messier when Haruka becomes in a coma after an accident, and Mitsuki, who already fell in love with Takayuki, decides to take the chance to go out with Takayuki despite Mitsuki knowing that Takayuki already has Haruka as his girlfriend. With Takayuki being the nice guy and already in love with Mitsuki (and not to mention being depressed with Haruka in a coma), he decided to accept Mitsuki, which inevitably caused a lot of drama, especially after Haruka suddenly woke from her coma with she doesn't realize some times has passed since she was in an accident. Additional Notes - I know the English release was censored with the publisher removed the ~15% of the script which consist of the sex scenes, but I decided to add this anyway. Moreso because we have the team who worked on adding the translated lines into the original 18+ version with said team also translate the sex scenes, and of course as soon as the team finished the project I'll delete the additional notes here just like when I added Aojashin in 2022 list. 4. Tsui no Sora Remake (VNDB 7.90) One day, SCA-JI got the inspiration after reading the works of Frederich Nietzsche to write the psychological horror VN Tsui no Sora and released it in 1999. His Tsui no Sora was very successful, so much so that it was called one of three legendary psychological horror VNs in Japan, with the other two VNs being Sayooshi and Jisatsu 101. In 2009, SCA-JI tried to remake Tsui no Sora as Subahibi, which then took its own identity. Then, 21 years after the original Tsui no Sora release (in 2020), SCA-JI decided to do another remake for Tsui no Sora and managed to be quite similar to the original. The VN storytelling is identical to the original and Subahibi, with multiple persons showing how they live with the world that is about to end on the 20th day of the month (July). For the video, since there's no opening, I'll use the ending video for Yasuko's chapter, who in Tsui no Sora Remake became a much more important character (and cuter). By that, I mean SCA-JI did flesh out her character far more and explain her background in her chapter, which is interesting given that she is just a side character in the original and bordering cameo in Subahibi. 3. Hatsuyuki Sakura (VNDB 8.11) When Saga Planets was under Visual Arts, they'd release a series of VNs called Four Seasons Games. Each VN represented one season (Coming x Humming for Spring, Natsuyume Nagisa for Summer, Kisaragi Gold Star for Autumn, and Hatsuyuki Sakura for Winter) with Niijima Yuu directing two of its games; Natsuyume Nagisa and Hatsuyuki Sakura, with both are said to be the best VNs in the series. Time passes, and some other games from Niijima (Majo Koi Nikki and Summer Pockets) are available in English. Yet, Hatsuyuki Sakura has not been available in English until now, with Nekonyan releasing it in December 2024. In Hatsuyuki Sakura, we have the school delinquent Hatsuyuki, who is rude and likes to drink alcohol. One day, at the beginning of December, he saw a girl wearing a white dress. Hatsuyuki approached her, and the girl said she wanted to search for her rabbit. Afterward, the girl introduced herself as Sakura. Two days later, Sakura transferred into the same class as Hatsuyuki, and his life started to change even though he was initially annoyed. Hatsuyuki Sakura is far more serious and dramatic than the other translated Saga Planets VNs, and the tone is quite somber in some parts. 2. Irotoridori no Sekai (VNDB 8.12) This VN has one intricate history of translating it into English. Long story short, someone decided to try to translate it in 2011, only to be dropped. Then, in 2015, Shinku Translation (Nekonyan's precursor) expressed their love for the main heroine, Shinku, by translating this. In 2019, a publisher ran Kickstarter to fund the license, which barely reached the goal before the publisher crashed into the ground shortly after. Then, in 2022, Nekonyan managed to get the Irotoridori no Sekai license. After years of those happenings, Nekonyan finally released Irotoridori in February 2024, as they'd been hoping for in the first place. In Irotoridori, we have the amnesiac MC Yuuma with a superpower given by Shinku, the mysterious girl only visible to Yuuma. One day, he saw a girl about to jump from the lighthouse, and Yuuma rushed to save the girl. Then, the girl said she knew Yuuma and asked Yuuma to save her. From there, Yuuma tried to find out what kind of ordeal the girl was having and find a way to fulfill her request. Irotoridori no Sekai is the first part of the trilogy, with the second part, Irotoridori no Hikari, adding more of the story. That said, the story for the first part is complete to a degree. 1. Gin'iro Haruka (VNDB 8.22) One day in August 2019, Tsurezurescan announced they'd been working with Gin'iro Haruka (Ginharu) after finishing Hoshiori in March 2019. Obviously, with them proven to be very fast with their past projects, people expected the full translation patch would be available shortly. Unfortunately, after they released the partial patch (which translated Bethly, Hinata, and Momiji routes), the translator, Trip, decided to drop the project in 2021 after he worked a bit on the fourth heroine, Yuzuki, routes, leaving the two routes, Yuzuki and Mizuha, untranslated. Afterward, the editor, Irru, searched for a new translator, and then he worked with the new group in 2022. Initially, the group was only interested in translating the other untranslated route, Mizuha, before they decided to finish what Trip started. Afterward, we saw progress in the works, which led to the full patch release in April 2024. For Ginharu, the staff does the same formula as Hoshiori, in which we'll see the romance story of the MC, Yukito, to adulthood. They also add the middle school story, so all five heroines can be said to be Yukito's childhood friends. If you worry about the drama like in HatsuKoi, rest assured there won't be any in Ginharu. For more info, there are some VNs with better scores that I didn't list, and it's because those VNs are re-releases. That aside, as you can see, now both Irotoridori no Sekai and Hatsuyuki Sakura are available in English, which is nice seeing both have failed translation attempts in the past. Also, I may as well mention Aniplex, which they've gotten a bit more aggressive compared to the previous years, even though they still focused on Type-Moon VN, and I hope I can see more interesting titles from them in 2025. Lastly, I look forward to seeing what Nekonyan and Shiravune can release in 2025. PS - Since there's a Canadian in Gin'iro Haruka, I'm changing "Ginban" from Ginban Kaleidoscope anime (with it also had a Canadian) into "Scarlet" with it is the English word of Shinku (Irotoridori main heroine), so we have "Scarlet Kaleidoscope" as the title.
