  1. Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and because we have Since Memories released with the artist did design the characters for Aquatope anime (Which to say I immediately recognize her art), I made the parody of Aquatope full title, The Aquatope on White Sand, with I changed 'on White Sand' into 'Starry Sky' with it from Since Memories English full title, so we have 'The Aquatope on Starry Sky' as the title. For this week, well there's less updates compared to the last week, with one of the interesting highlight is Hikari Field decided to localized newest Madosoft VN, Select Oblige, into English. Other than that, there's obvious Since Memories release and a few updates from Sekai. Overall, this week is kind of an average one, and let's see what I can write about it. For this week, we only have one fan translation updates, and said update is in regard of QA work for Akagoei 3 in which currently it's at 22.37% done. Nekonyan also has some interesting progress for one of their project, in which they already start the QA work for Hatsusaku (Hopefully it mean they already done with the porting work of it). Speaking of Nekonyan, their usual partner Hikari Field decided to localized newest Madosoft VN, Select Oblige, into English by themselves. While usually they take care of Chinese localization for Nekonyan VNs, they did plan two English releases in the past with one of those is Tayutama 2 (Which infamously had bad translation in the trial). As we can see, it should be obvious they still not released Tayutama 2 in English yet, although seeing now they have exact release date for it (November 8th) hopefully this time they manage to deliver the English release, which if Hikari Field manage to do it then they're automatically better compared to Sekai when it come to localize Madosoft VN. Speaking of Sekai, we have some updates with Nekopara 5 is in translation, Wagahigh FD is at 45% translated, and Amairo Chocolate 3 is fully edited with Sekai now starting the programming work for it. Lastly, after many years of not localizing their charage series VN Memories Off, Mages finally localized Since Memories in English with said VN is the part of Memories Off series. For Memories Off itself, it's the long runner series of charage from KID before it change to Mages after KID's bankruptcy, and for the info in Western KID is more famous for Infinity Trilogy even with Never7 has charage element from Memories Off. For Since Memories, it's about Jun'ya who still feel guilty about his older brother death suddenly told by a mysterious girl that he should be the one who die. Some times after, Jun'ya took a project to renovate the house of his childhood friend Chihaya who happen to be a high class lady. Seeing Jun'ya didn't have knowledge to renovate high class house, he'll obviously need some helps and of course he need to get out of his depression stage to ask for help. Go get Since Memories if you're curious about the first translated Memories Off series, and have fun. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.
  2. As for the chance, considering Saga Planet pushed more promotion on Hatsuyuki along with Kirikoi and Ambitious Mission, I would say it has less chance. Also considering there's a dubious C&D on Hanasaki fan translation project in which it has sizeable progress and Nekonyan may C&D any translation project of the VNs from their partners, I doubt anyone want to translate this. It should be note that Saga Planets just start to come into recognition with Coming x Humming in 2009, so obviously Pure Heart came off as much lesser title (And it's obviously not Kanon). So yeah the chance for either fans or Nekonyan to pick this is almost zero to nothing, and frankly speaking I prefer Nekonyan license Ambitious Mission over this, although if you prefer Pure Heart over those new VNs then it's okay.
  3. Akebi - The author of this manga was studied to be the animator before he decided to be the magaka, although he still show off his animation skill in the manga (You can see on how he can spent several pages just to draw the movement sequences of the character in the manga). Akebi itself is about the titular character, Akebi Komichi, who want to enter a certain all girl school just because she admired the school uniform that her mother (Who also made the sailor uniform) and her idol wore, although unfortunately the uniform code was already changed. While at first Komichi was disheartened, with the encouragement from her family she decided to attend the school while wearing the handmade sailor uniform, and eventually manage to make many friends. Love Live Nijigasaki - Unlike the original, Sunshine, and Superstar, this time they didn't need to save their own school. Nijigasaki also had different writer, in which instead of Hanada Jukki (Usual Love Live writers) we have Tanaka Jin (GPPC and KKPC writer) as the writer of it. We also have the MC who is not the main idol, but instead the MC, Takasaki Yu, is took the role as basically the manager of the school idols. Lastly, instead of group performance, we have the idols sang a single in each of their spotlight episode. Several unique things in Nijigasaki aside, for the story we have Yu saw the performance from the School Idol Club by Setsuna, who then decided to quit. Yu being school idol fan, she tried to join the club, only to had it already disbanded. Still she tried her best to find a way to find a way to support the school idol, especially with her childhood friend, Ayumu, decided to be one. Afterwards, Yu tried to recruit more students in order to form the new club. Oh yes, like usual Love Live it has epilogue movie, with it has three movies planned instead of the usual one movie. Lycoris Recoil - The original anime from Aniplex which unexpectedly being successful so much it has second season confirmed in the work, although honestly speaking for now I'm not quite looking forward to it. For the story, we have the ruined Tokyo with it's power of military is a group consist of orphaned young girl called Direct Attack. One day, one of its member, Takina, did a blunder on her job, and she was sent into the group called Lycoris in order to learn how to do the job under the prodigy member of Direct Attack Chisato. After seeing Lycoris homebase is a cafe and Chisato is quite relaxed, Takina initially was in disbelief. Soon enough, Chisato proven on why she was called the prodigy member of DA, and from there both Chisato and Takina form a duo to fight the threat against the society, namely the terrorist. Lastly, my condolence to the singer of the ending song who was just passed away recently. Bocchi the Rock - Well more than 320,000 MAL users vote this at 8 or above, so I guess it's okay if you vote this as 6. Then again, I think people just want to put Bocchi as their own representation instead of wanting to see her developed looking from how people claim Bocchi is like them, and it definitely help she's quite cute. The premise is about Hitori aka Bocchi who is quite adept at guitar and yet has crippling social anxiety so much she chose her school to be as far as possible from her home (At around 60 kilometers). One day when she was in the park, she was asked to join the band by Nijika in order to replace the guitarist who just quit, and slowly Bocchi find herself being comfortable playing in the band (After she tried her best to overcome her anxiety bit by bit). For the anime itself, the staffs manage to adapt the first 21 chapters of it which is quite notable seeing usually 4-koma manga (Such as the source manga of this) adapted around 26 chapters in one season, which to say is good decision seeing Volume 2 (Chapter 25) of the manga is the start of the lengthy arc. Princess Connect - This is one of the most popular mobile game from Cygames, so it has anime adaptation. The anime staffs are working on Konosuba (Especially the director), so you'll inevitably notice the similarities if you watch both of this and Konosuba side by side (There even one group in the anime which is quite similar to Kazuma's group). While the MC of the story is Yuki, he has memory problem so much he like a child and therefore he can't involved in the plot much. Instead, our focus on the anime is Pecorine who want to eat all of the delicacies in the world decided to form the Gourmet Guild which consist of her, Yuki, and two other girls (Karyl and Kokkoro). Both seasons of Princess Connect are adapted the first arc of the game, and seeing the main writer left the game after the first arc ended easy to say the anime is enough even though the game is still ongoing with Yuki still has his memory problem in the anime ending. Healer Girl - From what I read apparently the staffs was inspired by Symphogear, so it's understandable if you hear a lot of songs in the anime even if it's just the conversation in episode 3. Healer Girl is about Kana who enter the apprenticeship as the Healer because she was saved by one in her childhood, and so she decided to become one in order to met with her savior. The setting of the anime is where the girl who work as the Healer have the capability to heal the patient through the singing, although the anime shown that it can't fully replace the medical technology (It still can help the operation though). While the magic vs science in medical field is interesting angle, in the end Healer Girl is about Kana's daily life as she does her best as Healer apprentice. Akiba Maid War - It's about Nagomi who just want to work in Akihabara as the maid cafe waitress with Akihabara in 1999 has maid cafe war just like the title indicate, and unfortunately for Nagomi turned out the war is very literal, although even with the brutal reality Nagomi would keep doing her best to do her dream job with the help from her fellow waitress (Especially the 35 years old Ranko who have some dark history). By the way, it's quite clear the staffs make the pun of maid with maid is the homophone of meido which the latter mean 'underworld' in Japan, as in the underworld of Japanese society like yakuza, which is appropriate seeing basically maid cafes are operated like yakuza group. I tried to do the research about maid cafe in 1999, and I only find out the culture was just started in 2001 with it obviously far less bloody compared to what the anime depicted. Vampire in the Garden - With only five episodes, it's more like the movie instead of anime series. Anyway, this anime was aired at one on Netflix with the character designer was worked on Naruto, so it's understandable if you find Fine is like Kaguya from Naruto. The story is about the remnants of humanity was in the war against vampire with Momo was rescued by the vampire princess Fine in the middle of chaos. Some times later, Momo find out there's a place called Eden where human and vampire live together in harmony, and she decided to ask Fine to do a journey in order to find Eden after Fine do her best to comfort Momo. In the end, they manage to find Eden with it is not what both imagined in the first place, but regardless both find the closure from the journey in their own way. Executioner - I'm quite surprised on how some people heavily criticize the premiere with the titular executioner Menou killing self-insert male student despite the title is clearly about Menou (The EXECUTIONER and HER Way of Life), and the author didn't pull the trick like what Looseboy did in his Talentless Nana. The anime is about the female priestess Menou who was tasked to kill everyone who was summoned into another world because of the possibility their power became out of control, and after she kill the male student she looks to the female otherworlder Akari in order to kill her. However, turned out Akari possess the power of time which basically rewind the time each time Menou kill her. Seeing no choice, Menou decided to find the way to kill Akari, and along the way Menou will find a lot of secret related to the church she's belong to. By the way, I like to hear the opening song of this back when the anime was aired in Spring 2022. RPG Real Estate - The setting is the kingdom in RPG where the demon king was already defeated, so there's no need to do more heroic adventure with one of the possible job is to do their best to sell the house to the inhabitant of the kingdom, in which it's what the main casts (Kotone, Fa, Rufuria, and Rakira) do with Fa's ability manage to allow the group has a number of successful sales. At first we can dismiss it as the RPG parody mixed with CGDCT just like Endro, although eventually it reveal the ongoing plot surrounding one of the casts, Fa, with her ability was said to be very similar with the deceased demon king. As for the anime, let's just say it has very dramatic climax compared to the other Kirara manga adaptation. That's all for what I can comment in regard of Autumn 2022 anime, or perhaps the whole 2022 anime here.
  4. Well, this is definitely interesting topic, so let's see what I can talk about this topic. As for traps VN, let's just say that obviously I treat it as BL VN even though the dateable characters (Or maybe I should call them as heroes) looking good like usual VNs heroines, although this should be the discussion for another days. That said, let me say that the trap VN that really sit in the middle of GL and BL is Trap Yuri Garden, if only because the MC himself also the trap (And yes I admit that I like the premise so much I treat it as VN of the Month for June 2024, so in a way this is my guilty pleasure). For the rest of the topic, let's just say that I find it interesting there are much more well received BL VNs compared to GL VNs, with two of particular examples are Slow Damage and Hashihime. It help that somehow Nitroplus see the interest to develop BL VN and thus give them the chance to woven their story writing, which tend to be well received for how twisted it is. Obviously, the people who want to see good story would play the VN no matter the genre, and thus it manage to attract the number of people (From what I see on VNDB). The same phenomenon can also be observed in otome VN, which is no coincidence that some otome VN has more interesting stories compared to the usual VN. I don't really know though on why the work aimed for female demographic has more intricate story, but it's quite interesting phenomenon to see. In the end, while I prefer to not play BL or otome, I understand some man would like to try that kind of game for several reasons. That's all for what I can write in regard of this topic.
  5. Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and for the title because we have Shiravune announced Yakin Byouto remake with the English title 'Night Shift Nurses' along with Kakenuke released in which it has one of the heroine form the club called Volunteer Club, I combined both so we have 'Night Shift Volunteers' as the title. Anyway compared to the last week, this week is definitely more interesting, especially with the aforementioned Kakenuke release. Of course there's also several updates, with the more notable one come from fan translation. On the other hand, there are several delays, with the bigger one is in regard of Kiminozo with it apparently need some more adjustment based on Valve's input. Overall, this week is an interesting one, and let's see what I can write in regard of it. I'd forget to mention we also have Idea Factory released another of their Switch-only otome game 9 R.I.P., and nice of them to release it in English quickly after it was announced back in April. From what I see, it's about the female MC was stranded into the another world only for her to met several handsome supernatural beings. Well go get the VN if you want to play another otome game in Switch, and have fun. For the delays, we have LingerieS delayed until further notice, Corpse Party 2 delayed to the next year, and Kiminozo was delayed to the unknown date (The store list the release estimation at this month (October)) to adjust Steam version contents based on Valve's input for the rating review or something like that. Shiravune did announce the remake version of Yakin Byouto, which is not really surprising seeing the company who develop the remake is from the same group as Shiravune. For the VN itself, we'll going to have the MC will took the role as the villain who out to rape the nurses at his hospital. That said there are more than that, especially since the MC doing so after he got some request from his old classmates who also work as the doctor (Even though the MC already set his mind to rape the nurses), and from there we'll going to have simulation gameplay with the player need to go through some steps in order to rape the nurse that the player chose. Well it's the old VN from the defunct Mink which they produce at 1999, so yeah it has simulation gameplay. No release date as of now, but at least I know it'll be available on Steam with Shiravune will cut majority of the contents (Of course there'll be patch to restore the removed contents like usual). For fan translation, we have Rattanman released the partial patch for Taima Seiko Alice with it's been 70% completed, as in it's been 70% translated, editing, and proofread. Committee of Zero finally have new announcement after a while, with Chaos Child Love Chu Chu editing work is already completed with they working on the porting the game, and for Chaos Head Love Chu Chu currently it's been almost fully translated at 96.98% translated along with the TLC and editing works was past a quarter (25.19%) done. For the rest, we have Sakura no Uta Abend was three quarter done bringing the overall translation work was past a quarter (26%) done along with the overall editing work was 3% done, and Sousaku Kanojo is at 69% translated along with 13% edited. That's all for fan translation updates. Lastly, we have Nekonyan released Kakenuke after they've been working on it since 2022. Kakenuke itself is the VN from Saga Planets with them tried to repeat the summer aesthetic from Natsuyume Nagisa with very sexy uniform (At least what I thought), although ultimately Kakenuke is far more lighter compared to Natsuyume (Or even their other VNs like Kirikoi or Hatsusaku). For the premise, it's about the MC Yuu who need to do his best in order to balance his study and work life because he need to feed himself and his little stepsister while his parents being irresponsible leave both of them alone (Which mean Yuu resembled Karichaimashita's MC at first). One day, he saw both of his childhood friend Hibiki and his classmate Riri forcefully recruit him into their clubs (Action Club and Volunteer Club respectively) with both clubs focused on enjoying youth. While Yuu obviously have none at it, eventually he find himself enjoying his youth and romance. While it has some nice drama in some parts, ultimately Kakenuke would be fitting to be called as charage (Or moege). Go get Kakenuke if you want some nice charage from Saga Planets, and have fun. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.
  6. Well, try Princess X in which it has robot heroine with one of the sex scenes with her happened in the unique way. Other than that, maybe Kamikimi if you want usual robot heroine. Lastly, there's Trinoline in which it has one robot heroine designed based on the MC late little sister, and Trinoline itself was surprisingly heavy on the sex scenes despite being promoted as nakige. I hope my recommendations here will be helpful to you.
  7. Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and as for the title I'll tell it in PS later. For this week, well it definitely more active compared to the last week, especially from Shiravune with them finally show some activities after a while. Other than that, there's also Sakura no Uta translation team announced the new project and Shinzou show the progress on Sousaku Kanojo. Overall this week is a below average one, and let's see what I can write in regard of it. Cherry Kiss released their nukige, Big Boobie Boss Blackmail, in which once again it's about the MC who rescued his big breasted boss from her loveless marriage that leave her sexually frustrated, although obviously the MC do some NTR to his boss. Of course with the boss still want to preserve her good image, the MC decided to make full use of his sexual encounter as blackmail content by making his boss to have sex with him. Go get the VN if you want to see the MC do some NTR with his boss, and have fun. JAST manage to add the Steam store page for Yamizome Liberator (The link to the store), although the exact release date for it is still unknown. Aniplex just announce the release date for Tanetsumi no Uta at the same time where they did release trial for it, and they'll release the VN on December 13th later so feel free to note the date if you want to get it after playing the trial and like it. Shiravune finally did show some activities after some times, with one of those activities is they announced the new title, Ochingin wa Karadabarai, in which it's a nukige about the MC who do some compensated dating relationship with his boss since his high school day suddenly got the offer to do compensated dating with the high school student, and to complicated matter the MC's partner tell their experience to their respective friends resulting the friends want to have sex with the MC, which eventually led the MC to have sex with them altogether. Honestly there's much better title to pick compared to this, but this would do for now seeing it has some nice graphic (Which pretty much the requirement for nukige). Other than announced the nukige, they also announced they'll have Primal Hearts duology on Steam, and more importantly they finally announced the exact release date for (The expected) simultaneous release of the remaining Destiny Star Girlfriend with said date is on 29th later so feel free to note the date if you want to get the rest of Destiny Star Girlfriend trilogy. For the new project of Sakura no Uta translation team, it's Secret Game ~Killer Queen~ which if I remember it's one of the planned project from Lemnisca way back in 2014 before it was cancelled. What I understand the VN is the remake of Killer Queen which is available in English thanks to Lemnisca, and Killer Queen is about the 13 people who were trapped in a deadly game with the players must do the objective in the players PDA (Which contain things like survive or kill everyone) or else everyone will dead in 72 hours later. The team decided to translate Switch version first simply because it had more contents or something like that, although we may see they work on PC version later. For the progress, currently Switch version is at a quarter translated along with 10% edited. For the rest of fan translation updates, we have Taima Seiko Alice proofread is 70% done, and Sousaku Kanojo English version is at 41% translated along with 2% edited. That's all for fan translation updates. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week. PS - For the title, because Shiravune has the license for Ochingin with the English title is 'Another Way of Gettin' Paid', I decided to make the parody of it by changing 'Paid' into 'Promotion' with the latter is from Big Bobbie Boss Blackmail in which the MC could had the promotion through having sex (And blackmailed) his boss, so we have 'Another Way of Gettin' Promotion' as the title.
  8. For Autumn 2024, I'll probably cautiously watch Love Live Superstar 3 fully seeing the awkward beginning of the series which come from the awkward end of season 2. Another thing to note is Acro Trip, in which it's one of the two unique magical girl with another one is Magi Lumiere. I glanced the manga of Acro Trip, and well it's mostly comedy with the handsome main villain being inept at doing his job of defeating the magical girl while the female MC is a big fan of the magical girl ended up working with the villain. I'll probably check the anime later, if only because Kawamura (YPC5 character designer) was involved which mean it'll has some beautiful arts. Oh yes, there's also Dandadan as well in which it's the most popular anime for this season, although I'm not quite sure to watch it. At least it's available in Youtube through Muse (Only available in Asia though), so I'll probably check that out sometimes.
  9. Out of all six, only three are viable when it come to the VN in the most traditional sense (Souten Koihime, Yuukoku no Femme Fatale, and Mizuchi no Miko). For the other, well Death End Request 3 is the part three of Idea Factory's Dead End Request series with the artist definitely know where to focus on the female MC (It still has some disturbing contents though), and Senko VN is probably use the original story that is not exist in the manga (The manga is already ended some times ago). As for what I can think as VN of the Month, initially I think that Mizuchi no Miko may be good one seeing it's Liar-soft VN with Souten Kouhime seemingly like yet another Koihime Musou spin-off (Actually it has different casts) and Femme Fatale is from Escude which is more like nukige with maid, although Femme Fatale has more votes with surprisingly interesting story so perhaps I should say the VN of the Month for September 2024 is Yuukoku no Femme Fatale. That's all for what I can comment in regard of September 2024 releases. PS - Escude planned to localized Femme Fatale sometimes in the future, and for now it's still unknown on whether they'll do it by themselves or asking the others to help (Either JAST or DLSite seems to be viable candidates).
  10. For the info, actually light enforce the play order for Dies Irae with the player must finished either Kasumi or Kei routes first before playing Marie's route and only by finishing Marie's route the player can finally play Rea's route. The only reason why player can pick any route they want to play first in English version is because light decided to just unlocked all of the routes from the start as DLC, with many people suggest the new players to play the VN as intended starting from Kasumi's route. For the topic, two more example of the VNs that I can think of are Amazing Grace and Flyable Heart. Flyable Heart did follow Multiple Route Mystery faithfully, even though the staffs divided the six heroines routes into three stories (Mayuri and Sakurako, Amane and Kururi, and Yui and Suzuno). The three stories did try to tell the circumstances about the MC and the setting, although the middle one (Amane and Kururi) didn't have much connection to both stories (It still has nice heroine writing (For Amane) at the very least). For Amazing Grace, it's more like Ladder Structure like G-Senjou, so each of the heroines routes are more or less like the arc with each of the routes reveal something more in regard of the clue that will eventually help Shuu (The MC) to find out the answer to the peculiar setting around him. Not everyone find the answer satisfying, but at least Amazing Grace did make the routes contain the connection to the main stories. That's all for what I can comment in regard of the topic.
  11. Welcome to this week VNTS Review. As for the title, because we have both of Meiji Tokyo Renka and Melty Amethyst released with the MC of the former is like Miaka of Curious Play when it come to appetite, I combined both so we have 'Amethyst Play' as the title. As for this week, well let's just be blunt that it's a very plain week, although on the other hand we have Meiji Tokyo Renka release in which it's otome VN so at least there's good news to anyone else who want to play otome VN, especially if you didn't have Switch because the publisher also released the Steam version of it. Other than that, we also have PQube announced the exact release date for SINce Memories. Anyway, let's see what I can write in regard of this week even though there's no much happen. For Melty Amethyst, it's more or less small scale of otome VN with the MC Hotaru came into Tokyo because she admire her older sister with Hotaru got a part time job at the convenience store. One day, she met her new workmate who is quite handsome and yet quite rude. Obviously Hotaru will eventually get closer to the new workmate and the romance would be bloomed between them. As for Meiji Tokyo Renka, obviously it has more production value compared to Melty Amethyst. For the premise, we have the female MC Mei who like to eat somehow slipped into past Japan, specifically Meiji era, and obviously Mei will met a number of handsome man. From there, Mei will try her best to find the way to go back to her time while at the same time she'll have the romance with the handsome men. Go get Meiji Tokyo Renka if you're interested with it, and have fun. Cherry Kiss announced their another nukige, and this time the title of the nukige is Big Bobbie Boss Blackmail with they will release it on next Friday (In 11th) later. In case you want to now the premise, it's about the MC who tried to do his best to rescue his big breasted boss from her less passionate marriage through a lot of sex, so basically this is more or less NTR VN. Also like I say beforehand, PQube just announced the exact release date for the first localized Memories Off games, SINce Memories, and the date is on 23rd later so feel free to note the date if you want to try one of Memories Off VN. For fan translation, first of all we finally have Shin Koihime Musou updates, with the most recent one is now we have it was at 73% edited. For the rest of the updates, we have Taima Seiko Alice proofread is now 60% done and Ushieta is at 28% edited. That's all for this week fan translation updates. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.
  12. Late to the party here. Anyway if you want recommendation which are similar to those two, then maybe something like Sousaku Kanojo (Art wise because G-Senjou artist work on that). For more serious recommendation, maybe you can try Meteor World Actor (Just prepare for the inconclusive ending) or Tokyo Necro. Muramasa would be nice as well, although it has some very grim moments. Well I hope my recommendations here will be helpful to you in case you still didn't play those VNs.
  13. Welcome to this week VNTS review, and for the title because we finally have Hime no Rakuen available on Steam along with Fakku released Forbidden Wards, I decided to combine both into 'The Ward of Paradise' with 'Paradise' come from Hime no Rakuen with 'Rakuen' mean 'Paraside'. Anyway, this week is quite something if we see it from Mangagamer updates alone, in which it's been a while with the last one is in last May. Other than Mangagamer's updates, we also have the notable Sakura no Uta updates. Overall, this week is another average one, and let's see what I can write in regard of it. Turned out we have Hime no Rakuen available in English as simultaneous release back in August 23rd, although I just wait until the Steam release for it back at last Friday. Also as it turned out, the translator use MTL in order to do the translation work. That said, I'll still mention the premise a bit, in which we'll have the female MC who is also the princess in the warmongering empire Canaria is the victim of her empire's political play with her driven out because her mother is the prostitute and was killed. One day, she saw a handsome prisoner of war, and she asked her father to give her the prisoner. From there, Canaria start to play with the handsome prisoner, with Canaria dominate the prisoner. While it use MTL, it's still interesting to see rare nukige otome VN available in English, let alone the one that has female domination, so feel free to try the VN if you didn't mind the MTL and want to try the unique otome. Oh yes Fakku released Forbidden Wards in which it's the nukige set in the hospital, and turned out there's some interesting plot with the amnesiac MC was kidnapped with he start to plot his escape. Go get the nukige if you're interested with it, and have fun. For Mangagamer's updates, the most notable one is Rance X is finally fully translated, although it's still not over yet because the editing work is still at 5% done and will take some times to be done. We also have Luckydog is now fully translated and edited after there's no visible progress for years, Eve of December is fully edited, RGD was fully retranslated and 70% edited, Funbag Fantasy 4 is at 89% translated along with 86% edited, Rance 03 is at 88% translated along with 79% edited, Sleepless Midsummer is at 77% translated and three quarter edited, and Battle Scarred Homunculus along with both Ixseal and Sex Open World are already fully translated and edited. Several of their updates are also including the testing, in which they already finished the testing for both Battle Scarred Homunculus and Eve of December with they started testing work for Sex Open World. Lastly Mangagamer announced the exact date for their next release, Dead Days, in which they'll release it in Halloween Days (October 31st). This week we have Akagoei 3 is at 21.16% in QA and Taima Seiko Alice is at 70% edited. That said, this week fan translation highlight is obviously on Sakura no Uta update, in which the translator manages to translated the halfway of Chapter 2, Abend, and that big jump on the progress bring the overall Sakura no Uta translation progress is now at 20% done. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.
  14. There are many to comment when it come to SRPG, so let me try it here. Well sometimes simple is the best, because if SRPG has too much gimmick (Mechanic Distinctiveness) it may ended up become very confusing for the new players, and I speak from my experience as someone who confused when I tried FFT (Which is the standard of modern SRPG) with I ended up stuck in the 4th story battle (And then I decided to delete the game). SRPG can also have dating sim element like Luminous Arc trilogy, in which while the game has gimmick the battle system itself is simple enough. Also for blending it with VN like narrative, well it's more or less given seeing most SRPG didn't have much walking around like usual RPG. For the second point, I always think on how Eushully did good job on facilitate the large number of characters in Kamidori in combat, and yet the roster is still fewer than Chrono Cross. For comparison, the first playthrough of Kamidori have 16 characters while first playthrough of Chrono Cross have almost 40 characters with the latter didn't have SRPG gameplay thus making some characters become underplayed. It's even worse when you consider Chrono Cross staffs only limit the characters into three people (With Serge as the permanent party member) while Kamidori didn't necessarily forced Wil to be deployed in every stage. Speaking of large group combat, Arterial as the next Eushully game after Kamidori did it better on that front even though it's card game, mainly because you can have all the duelists gain all of the experiences at once and every card in the deck (Up to 30 cards) can gain experience even if it's not played. For the first point, arguably we can say on why all of SRPG have war stories is started from Fire Emblem in which it's about an exiled prince who start the war against the one who conquered his own country, and seeing it's very popular naturally the developer make the SRPG variant based on it. It also help that SRPG are usually harder than normal RPG, and thus it give the player feeling like they're the tactician if they manage to pull out the win, which Fire Emblem staffs realize seeing the player need to be very smart to have all of their allies keep alive until the end of the game seeing the older Fire Emblem keep the dead party member remain dead (The modern one circumvent it by making Easy Mode revive all fallen allies after the stages ended). About Utawarerumono, the original game is kind of difficult if only because there's no much opportunities to do some grinding, and Aquaplus fixed the problem in the next two games and the remake of the first game. Oh yes, Digimon Survive creator was inspired by Utawarerumono gameplay, so if you wonder why it has SRPG gameplay despite it would be fine if it's in RPG form, there you have the answer (Besides saving cost for the walking animations in the area obviously). That's all for what I can comment in regard of SRPG.
  15. Visual Novel Translation Status (22/09/2024) For the title, I decided to combined several words from the VN, with 'Sacrifical' from Nie no Machi (Translation Note: Nie mean sacrifice), 'Saint' from Sheol full title (Happy Saint Sheol), and 'Maiden' from Ever Maiden so we have 'Sacrifical Saint and the Queen of the Maidens' as the title, which is the parody of the anime Sacrifical Princess and the King of the Beasts with I changed 'King' into 'Queen'. Anyway, from what I can see this week is more interesting compared to the last week. Obviously there's still some usual updates, with the most notable one is in regard of Sakura no Uta which is always welcome. Aside of that, there's also some talk about the unfortunate situation surrounding Sheol release. Overall this week is an average one, and let's see what I can write in regard of it. Like I say beforehand we have Sheol released by Sekai in last Wednesday, although turned out there's some controversy. Namely turned out the developer decided to remove the some contents for overseas release, which obviously the fans will not going it slide. As for the reasons why, let's just say it started from the creepy fans who is too scared of playing the VN with disturbing contents find the courage to do criminal stuff by doxxed the location of the director's house, which lead the developer decided to just removed the contents for the sake of their safety. Fortunately, some fans started the effort to restore the removed contents, so good luck to them. For the premise, it's about the trainee who keep saw the nightmare where he always saw, and in his workplace he encounter the girl who looks similar to the angel in his dream. I saw one of the CG sample in VNDB, and let's just say it's quite disturbing all right, although it's still not justify the crime that the fans did to the director. Censorship and disturbing contents aside, I have no much to say other than feel free to try Sheol if you interested and didn't mind the censorship. We also have Nie no Machi release, and the first things that I can say it's BL VN. The VN itself is about the MC Hisora who work on several part-time jobs as physical laborer. One day, he saw a man in morning outfit drop a bouquet with Hisora tried his best to return the bouquet. However, in the midst of his search Hisora was ended in the other world with one of the resident mention it as the world which distant from death, and it was shown with some man can still talk even without his head. Obviously with he stranded in the strange world, he'll do his best to return to his world. Well, at least it had Steam version, so you didn't need to buy console (Switch) if you want to play it. Go get the VN if you want to play it, and have fun. Frontwing did announce their new VNs, and one of those is Kanade with them also planned to release it in English simultaneously. No much to known here other than it's yet another white haired girl heroine, it's written by Lilja writer (And thus euphoria writer as well), and it'll be released sometimes in 2025. Honestly I would like to see them experimenting with GL like what they did with Lilja, although it seems they decided to be focused on the single heroine which make sense seeing their Atri is quite successful so much it got anime adaptation. Nekonyan unfortunately need to delay their Sakura Celebration release, and the reasons is because they need to taking care of some leftover bugs together with the developer. In exchange though, we finally have the exact release date for Kakenuke with it will be released on October 18th later so feel free to note the date if you've been waiting for it. For fan translation, we have Akagoei 3 is at 20.63% in QA, Majikoi A Plus Disk is at 15.6% translated along with 2.66% edited, Taima Seiko Alice is at 65% edited, and most importantly we have Sakura no Uta Fruhlingsbeginns chapter is now fully translated which bring the overall progress is at 12% translated with the editing work is just started (At 2% done as of now). Last but not the least, we have Shinzou announce their next project, Sousaku Kanojo. Admittedly it's not really surprising with they've been working on it in Spanish with it's been fully translated, but it's still nice to finally see they announce the English version of it, so good luck to them. From what I see, the artist is the one who work on Sharin and G-Senjou. For the premise, it's about the MC Toshiki who used to wrote the light novel suffer writers block with his childhood friend Aisha ghosting him. One day when he's on his first step to move on, suddenly he saw Aisha in front of him. For the progress, no much happen for the English version besides the assets work with it is 35% done. Oh yes, I should mention that Sousaku Kanojo English version is not Shinzou's secret project, because said project is the official translation. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.
  16. Welcome to the forum, and well there's no much to say other than I hope you'll have fun in the forum just like in Discord.
  17. Well, just take your time to fix the issue and possibly find a way to regain motivation, so good luck on that.
  18. I see now you decided to cover dorama (Japanese TV live action), in which unlike anime and VN I didn't follow it at all. That said, I'll comment if you talk about some dorama that I heard in the past. PS - Just to mention here, actually dorama here is following the season system like the anime, in which it's divided into Winter, Spring, Summer, and Autumn, so you may need to divide it by seasons like the anime.
  19. Visual Novel Translation Status (15/09/2024) Since we have Ace Attorney Investigation 2 available in English with the name Prosecutor's Gambit along with Sheol is just released today, I decided to parodied the former by changing 'Prosecutor's' into 'Angel's' (Because we have Sheol's MC have angel in his dream), so we have 'Angel's Gambit' as the title. Anyway welcome to this week VNTS Review, and for this week admittedly there's no much update, although one of the updates is in regard of Karenai Sekai release, which is the best VN from its developer which honestly not saying much. For the other notable updates, we have both Sakura Celebration and Sheol exact release date, so good for the fans who've been waiting for both VNs. Overall this week is another below average one, and let's see what I can write about it. Once again we have Capcom released Ace Attorney Investigation duology which included the long awaited Ace Attorney Investigation 2 so obviously this should be very good news. Although unfortunately since the fan team who worked very hard on this is not the part of Capcom translator, naturally Capcom use the different name from fan translator and thus it would took some more times to get used to it. To be fair though it's not fully the translator's fault to not immediately localized Ace Attorney Investigation 2 as soon as possible in 2011, because the reason for 13 years delay is the team who works on the game was disbanded as soon as the game finished in Japan in 2011, and thus they have no chance to work on the translation which would leave the game untranslated if not for the effort of the fans who do more than usual fan translation (Especially with them also think the fitting localized name instead of just leaving Japanese name). Overall, let's just say the player would need to get used to the new name for a while to put it nicely. In the end, feel free to get the duology if you're too lazy to emulate DS and didn't mind the Steam version use Denuvo. Sekai finally have released Sheol on today (September 18th), and no much to say for now besides good for Sekai to have their backlog reduced yet again. Speaking of backlog reduction, we have Sakura Celebration exact release date with said date is on 26th later. Admittedly Sakura Celebration has nice graphic compared to Sheol, although it's definitely on the lower end compared to Nekonyan's other announcements on last Otakon. Oh yes, they also state they need to delay Dracu Riot release up to next year, 2025, so more waiting for the fans who chose to wait for official release. This week fan translation focus is obviously on Shinzou with they're released Karenai Saku full translation patch along with their secret project is now fully edited, although Studio Frisay also make some progress on Ushieta editing work with it currently is at 19.9% edited with Kaori's route is past three quarter (82.8%) edited. As for Karenai Sekai, so far it's the longest VN that Shinzou translate (Usually their work are short VNs) with this is also the longest VN from the developer with their two other VNs that are localized by Sekai (Kemomusu and Nekogami). For the story, it's about Shou who traveled together with the little girl Ren came at the town with beautiful flowers. In the town, he met the three sisters who run a cafe, and Shou chose to work at the cafe in order to have a place to stay. In the middle of the night, Shou saw some unexpected happen, with he saw the middle sister Haru hugged the little girl who soon transform into the flower. Afterwards, Haru revealed that she's and her sister have been doing so to stay alive. With no much choice, Shou decided to try to help the three sisters, especially Haru. Go get Karenai Sekai if you're interested with it, and have fun. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.
  20. Late to reply here. Anyway, now that we have successful Kicktraq, Alcot now set it to be released on November 2025 later. Also turned out there'll be sex scenes, which in hindsight should be obvious from how the VAs using their pseudonym instead of real name (Also now I remember Musicus is funded through Kicktraq).
  21. Rent A Girlfriend 2 - I did read about how Reiji (The author) initially didn't want to write Mami (Kazuya's former girlfriend) as the recurring character only to change his mind after he think it may be interesting to see on how he'll develop her from there in TV Trope, and easy to say he definitely get his answer in the worst way possible. Anyway as for second season of this, well it exist and keep helping TMS (And Reiji) get more money, and it didn't really help the iconic moments of the manga are available in the next two seasons so basically it make the second season overshadowed. Utwawarerumono 3 - It adapt the game faithfully from what I see, although my focus is not on that matter (Well the game is already available in English anyway). But instead my focus is on the Haku's VA change with his initial VA, Fujiwara Keiji, was passed away before the anime was produced. Fortunately though, the writer did write the Haku need to disguised as Osthor because the latter had died in the last episode of Utawarerumono 2, so the staffs immediately cast Osthor's VA, Kentaro Tone, as Haku's VA replacing Fujiwara Keiji, which in a way it become quite poetic with Kentaro Tone is basically succeeded Fujiwara Keiji while in-story Haku is succeeded Osthor. VA trivia aside, this anime is basically the last part of Utwawareumono trilogy, in which while obviously it resolve the second game event turned out it also resolve the event from the first game at the end. Spy x Family - It's Shonen Jump manga which tell the story about a secret agent who was told to start a family in order to do his next mission successfully, and he manage to do so with the female assassin and the little girl, Anya, who can read mind with each of the false family members didn't know their own secrets (Well Anya definitely know her pretend parents secret). As time goes on, the family will face several obstacle with we'll see on how they'll get over it. The notable thing of the anime is that Anya's VA is Kiritani Hana (Real name Tanezaki Atsumi) with she become more noticeable for anime fans thanks to her performance as Anya, which make her eventually landed a Precure role (Cure Friendy of WPC). Muv Luv Aternative - After several years of waiting since we have it released with the VN inspired a certain someone to make very well known Attack on Titan, finally we have it adapted as the anime. That said, ironically the studio is not the one who make Attack on Titan (Wit and Mappa), but rather it's the less known one, Yumeta Studio. Also to add more of irony, the studio can't adapt the whole game faithfully, which may be happen because the lack of funding seeing the remaining story is two big battle before the ending and thus need more resource to do the animation work. Some fans did suggest there may season 3 to adapted the remaining story, although there's none of it until now. Isekai Pharmacy - The writer of the novel is the doctor, so at least you can be assured on the accuracy of the medical writing. The story is about 31 years old doctor was dead because of overwork, and to no one surprise he was reincarnated in the other world as 10 years old Falma. Falma's father is known as the greatest doctor in the other world, although unfortunately the medical standard is not advanced enough compared to the modern era despite his father's skill. So with Falma still has his memories as the doctor from modern era decided to improve the medical standard as much as possible, and sure enough he manage to improve it to a degree. The anime here appropriately enough close it with Falma fight the Black Death pandemic, in which it's deadly disease that wiped half of the Europe (And it's very appropriate to have the anime talk about pandemic back when Corona spreading). By the way, this is the first isekai manga that I'd read. Paripi Koumei - It's about the very famous tactician from Three Kindom Zhunge Liang (Known as Koumei) was dead because of his old age, and somehow he find himself to be in Shibuya while he become younger. Confused, Koumei wonder around until he hear someone singing with Koumei admired the voice is very good. Afterwards, Koumei find the singer, Eiko, and he make the proposal to Eiko to make her become very famous, which to say will certainly happen. Obviously we shouldn't wonder if Koumei schemes will be successful or not, but instead we should wonder on what strategy from the Three Kingdom (Or classic Chinese in general) that Koumei will be use to make Eiko become more famous. The anime ended after Eiko finished her first step into the major events, and there's still much more steps that she need to go through in the manga after the anime ended. For a side note, the director of this is now working on one of Summer 2024 anime, Mayonaka Punch. That's all for what I can write in regard of Summer 2022 anime here.
  22. My experience with Eushully is only the one that have fixed encounter, so I never thought there would be random encounter in Eushully game (I can't speak about Grasesta here, seeing the translator apparently still has real life obligation to finish it). Anyway, I guess it's too bad that whenever Eushully experimented with gameplay it's rarely turned out to be good, and yet the one that has the same battle system is usually more praised. Also it's interesting that this time Eushully decided to separate the sex scenes with the patch, so perhaps they may have some plan with Hyakusen here, such as trying to add this into Steam (I may be speculate too much on that though). In any case, at least it's interesting we can learn about the Ziltery royal family that was mentioned in Emelita's route of Kamidori, and Eushully didn't make the mana system like in Rhapsody.
  23. Well maybe something nice from the most recent title, such as Unravel Trigger or Kyokkou no Marriage, or perhaps the most recently translated Tsui no Sora Remake. I can't make guarantee that you'll absolutely like those though, although if you manage to like it then good for you. Regardless, I hope my recommendations will be helpful to you.
  24. Well it's my very first VN that I played back in 2009, with me back then expect many sex scenes like in Shera My Witch only to find it almost had none (10 sex scenes). Honestly while the VN is quite interesting in 2009, nowadays there's much more interesting title available in English and not to mention there are much better interesting untranslated VNs from Navel, Oretsuba and Tsukiyori. Still, good luck on your effort and hopefully you'll be able to deliver it (Possibly with the removed sex scenes for both of Kareha and Mayumi).
  25. Visual Novel Translation Status (08/09/2024) Since we have another Date A Live VN released along with Sakura Celebration is almost ready to be released with the latter has magician (ie witch) heroines, I decided to reuse the VNTS title from five years ago, Date A Witch, with I add the roman number of 2 (II), so we have 'Date A Witch II' as the title (By the way I chose roman number because the anime sequel of Date A Live like to use roman number). As for this week, let's just get over the worst news with Hikari Field unfortunately get the same reviewer when they submit their Tenshi Re-Boot build, and thus it was banned beyond the doubt. Besides that, we also have the aforementioned Date A Live release along with Cherry Kiss nukige. Overall, this week is a below average one, and let's see what I can write about it. Once again Tenshi Re-Boot was banned without doubt, and thus Nekonyan decided to take the action, Said action is namely Nekonyan decided to finally put some effort on releasing it in the other platforms, and they mentioned they aim for early 2025 release which mean we may see it on March 31st at most. That aside, at least there's some good news in regard of Steam, with one of those is in regard of the aforementioned Sakura Celebration release in which they already have the Steam store for it opened, and they also announce the release will be happen sometimes in September (ie this month). Honestly speaking it's not the most interesting new announcements from Nekonyan, but seeing that it's almost completed when Sol Press was out of order at least it's nice to see it finally released, and hopefully with Sakura Celebration we may see Nekonyan rescuing more title from Sol Press, such as Witch's Garden or HHG with both title are also from Windmill. Cherry Kiss just released their newest nukige, and once again it's about the MC who find out the easiest way to fulfill his dream to have sex with idols is just hypnotized them, and he does so with the results speaks for itself. Well, go get the VN if you want to see the successful story of the idol fan hypnotized his favorite idol group in order to have sex with them, and have fun. Idea Factory was released their newest Date A Live VN, Ren Dystopia, and unlike their otome VNs they only released it on Steam therefore make it PC exclusive. For the story, it's happen after the event of third season with Shido suddenly find himself need to confront the mysterious evil spirit, the titular Ren. I have no much to say other than feel free to get Ren Dystopia if you want more Date A Live after it's fifth season ended, and have fun. For fan translation progress, we have Haruka na Sora is fully translated with the full translation patch is available in the translation's group Discord, Taima Seiko Alice is at 60% edited, and Akagoei 3 is at 18.53% in QA. Lastly, we have new announcement from Shiravune, and said announcement is Beastkin Training with the MC was accidentally broke a precious vase resulting him being fired with the only choice to repay the debt is to train a very aggressive beast girl through a lot of sex or something like that. Not my favorite announcement, although some people may be interested with this. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.
