The game is meant to be played 3~5 times. It's what it'll take to make you finish all the gameplay content (picking the extra difficulties for new skills, higher level caps and better enemies). As far as routes go, I'm a sucker for Tokimi and I suggest you at least do the 3 main spirits (Aselia, Orpha and to a lesser extent Esperia(, since each have their distinct revelations during each route- especially Orpha. Still, do whatever you like. I played all of them, lol.

Except she's not, because she's a highschooler who just went out in a date with you and ate a sundae plus some other shit. She's also probably a virgin, so prepare for the most uncomfortable sex of your life. *Kaguya rolls eyes at those anal sex scenes* It's really hard to come across acceptable ones, and they're all in slave-training nukige.

It was ok. Played both the games, not fond of either. For everyone else from now on, thanks a lot for the suggestions, but you should probably check my VNDB before suggesting things. I've read just about every VN translated and 150~200 untld ones, so it's kinda pointless to suggest stuff at blank.

Next up on my list to read is DDC, which I'll be starting today and Iwaihime, which I'll start when I finish DDC (unless I finish the game in like, 5 hours and Iwaihime hasn't been released yet ) After those two... I have a lot to read, actually, but I want something full of heroine deaths. Merciless, gruesome deaths. As an extra requirement, I'd reeeally like it if the protagonist kills them. He can't do it unwillingly or after facing a mental dillema or the sort, too. Naturally, I'm not looking for nukige. ...Don't have lots of hopes I'll find something, but I gotta try. That's about it~

Translated-only... Completely changes what I can recommend you. Fitting most of your criteria, there's Utawarerumono. End list. If you're fine with Sengoku-era Japan full of rape and comedy, there's Sengoku Rance. If you're fine with post-war Japan, Rose Guns Days is one of my favorites. Hardly "ancient" but it's pretty good. If you're fine with modern japan with some ancient beings and youkai and whatnot, check out Ayakashibito. If you're fine with fictional nowdays japan without guns and lots of "how to use a katana" infodumping, check out Hanachirasu. That's about it, really. I guess you could also check Higurashi, though it's not what you're looking for.

Not really creepy, and there are several recommendations better than this if all you want is the Japan part, But I can't let a chance to mention my favorite VN pass by... Kikokugai, Hanachirasu, Inganock, Demonbane, Chaos;Head and maaaaybe Kara no Shoujo. There are several others... But if I were to include stuff like that (why I'm reluctant to put Kara no Shoujo in the first place) the list would be kinda pointless.

Be aware that you need to finish 4 routes before doing the yandere in Duel Savior, and in Higurashi the psyche of the characters heavily varies depending on which arc you're in (so they'll be a yandere in Arc 2 but not in 3, etc.)

If you want VNs with yandere heroines, try this: 1- Duel Savior (gameplay-VN, has a pretty yandere heroine that will commit atrocities, though only in her route.) 2- Cross Channel 3- Both Fate and Tsukihime have one that could be described like that, though it's only a plot point in their route and it's an obsession that gets "resolved" so I'm not sure I'd call them that 4- Kimi to Kanojo to Kanojo to Koi (best one out of this list... Unfortunately, the only untranslated one of this list. If that's not a problem, go for it.) 5- Higurashi, too, I guess.

No. I love yandere heroines, that game is a joke and it sucks. Can still be kinda fun if you have literally absolutely nothing else to read, I guess.

I'd hate on rewrite, but that's not the point of this thread so I'll restrain myself. Anyway, wouldn't suggest it for that. The best one I can come up with translated would be Rose Guns Days. The protagonists change every season (with all of them coming together for the finale), but all have their experiences, tastes, personalities and are very much competent in their areas. If you don't mind gameplay, there's the protagonist of Utawarerumono, who leads a revolution and manages a country. If you're fine with revenge stories, there's Hanachirasu (the protagonist is the lover of the owner of an influential corporation, and said owner would a lot for his sake. He also works for them, and definitely is an incredibly competent swordsman) and Kikokugai - in this case, the protagonist used to be part of an underground society, and is out for vengeance on the people of said society... There's a few other translated ones, but I can't think of any other particularly good.

So, the super bowl is about american footbal, huh. Being someone who's not american or interested in sports, I always thought it was about bowling, because of the name. Huh. Living and learning. Congrats for your team, too. I know some people take this stuff very seriously. Happy for ya.

Forest, I/O and Remember11 come to mind if you want something that'll get you thinking a lot. For something more light hearted that still has a serious story, look into Katahane. A personal favorite of mine is Rose Guns Days - you should probably look into it. If you're fine with something that has more action, go for Ayakashibito. Kids these days, suggesting Gahkthun as the first game to go to in the steampunk series... I wouldn't go as far as to suggest Inganock, since he doesn't want something depressing, but personally, I find that Sharnoth does almost everything better than Gahkthun. Gahk felt like a really... Awkward game in the series, for the lack of a better explanation. Can't say I particularly enjoyed it. It's good, though.

You used to belong to his cause years back, I used your sister as a chip to get you to obey me, you ended up killing the rebels during the last chapter and Kosaki is now emotionally empty and considers himself a vengeance fiend, his first step being to kill you. The death stuff and hell and whatnot was me trying to sound poetic, but it seems I have failed.
