Of course it wouldn't be better when you read it with whatever this translator tool might be. :x There are lots of writers on the VN scene with great prose, like Hino, Tanaka, Masada, Mareni, and so on. Most of the translations either just don't pick the ones that focus on prose, or completely trample over it instead (Cross+Channel), but that's not to say there are no well translated VNs out there, either.

Decided I would renew my attempts at watching airing anime this season, so I watched the first season of Chaos Dragon and Gangsta, and I am planning on watching most of everything else as it comes out. What I'm planning to do is drop the uninteresting ones after a few episodes. So far, Chaos Dragon didn't impress me at all. You can see that it was a RPG just based on how run of the mill the whole thing feels, plus the bad animation doesn't help it at all. The only thing I liked about it was the amount of character death, so I am hoping for based Urobochi to save this. Gangsta was a much bigger surprise, on the other hand. The OP was stylish as hell, and the episode - even though you could easily call it "edgy bullshit" - was entertaining enough. Kind of looking forward to see more of this one if they keep the quality up.

Euphoria has kiss CGs.

Hehe, also the first thing I thought of. Time to shorten it down to 乳毛.

Just picked up SoulSac Delta since it was free on PS+, and I'm very impressed with the presentation so far. Only finished the first arc, but I'm loving those journal sections. And that OST, damn... Gameplay is also fun and fresh, even considering I never really got into the MH games/genre. The only other game I played a lot was Freedom Wars... I suppose those more unusual ones really grab me. Meanwhile on my PS4 I "accidentally" spent a whole day on Bloodborne again, since friend wanted to play coop and then never showed up in the end. Resulted in me spending my entire day in Chalice Dungeons to "get my character ready for coop"... hahaha... Though at least it was loads of fun. I also got really lucky with the Short Chalice again. Got summoned into the Isz root chalice, and not only did it have very easy first two bosses (Merciless Watchers and Brainsucker... what pushovers ), it also had loads of materials, but also a Lost Kirkhammer... and a Lost Holyblade... and a Blood Stone Rock... how is this even possible. The only times I tried root dungeons myself, I got absolute shit in return... I've also started playing around with Car Cry 4 since I got it on sale back in the Summer EU sale, and I'm enjoying that a lot so far too. Basically just more FC3, but I've enjoyed that a lot too, and it was a long time ago too, so this is nice. I just hope the plot continues being hilarious, some of those character encounters are gold.

Welcome to the infinite VN, fellow reader. For the 'proper order' most of the new arcs in the first 'file' assume that you've read Watanagashi at least, so you might go with that - or just leave them all for last. You can actually get all of them from the common route (includin'g Natsumi's, Someutsushi), even if it gives you the choice in the scenario select, just somehting I found interesting. Also the cut content will get worse the further you get. The first season is still good, believe me... Kai gets so bad that entire characters get cut, but I suppose we should've expected no less from DEEN. And Satoko is still worst girl, normal moments or not.

Just finished UBW, and the epilogue only reaffirmed my previous thoughts. Ufotable has nailed it. I loved this adaptation, and with the small additions and edits, I feel like this is the definitive - and better than the VN - version of Unlimited Blade Works. Sure you miss out on some of the exposition due to the different medium and length alone, but I didn't feel like that was a problem at all. I also really liked how this was treated like a Fate/Zero sequel more than anything else, but that's just because I dislike the Fate route. I do wonder how the HF movie will pan out. I trust in ufotable, but a movie is a movie... I wish it had more parts at least.

What makes Grisaia no Kajitsu so great?
Vokoca replied to starlessn1ght's topic in Visual Novel Talk
It has the largest amount of retcons you will ever find in any visual novels, going as far as retconing retcons at one point. Isn't that great?! -
What's wrong with you guys, Miyuki is love. <3 if you're scared, it's only your own fault. As for me, it'd probably have to be Shiina from Disorder6. A girl with DID so strong you can never know who you're really talking to. One moment she might be your self-proclaimed cute childhood friend, but the next... Then again I have a weakness for cute but scary heroines, hence the avatar.

Just finished Kotori's route in KonoSora. Not much to say here - they nailed the presentation as usual, the ending was really nice and moving. There also was no weirdly dumb drama this time around, so bonus points for that too. Not sure if I'll read the rest of the routes (twins and Amane) right away, or if I'll stall it for a bit again... I was really looking forward to Sayooshi for quite some time now, so I might just as well get that out of the way first, since it's apparently on the shorter side.

Nice review! A shame about the cliffhanger ending... considering Kara no Shoujo does the exact same thing with its true end, it might be some sort of a horrible habit Innocent Grey has.
-
You could argue that's the intended experience, since that's how the VN originally came out, haha. But it just depends on whether you have the patience or not.

She speaks in a strangely formal way. She ends all of her sentences with a formal speech particle, even when her verbs already end on a formal suffix - you don't normally do this in Japanese, so it stands out a lot. It also comes into play later when more of her character is revealed, so it's arguably kind of important, even though it's still just a detail, really. YenPress gets around this by ending her sentences with "sir", which is probably the closest you can get to that speech quirk in English. MangaGamer just does nothing. The new MangaGamer release has a patch with both the Sui (PS3/Vita) art and voices. Me.

Pretty much this. There are still some oddities here and there, but at least it is more or less representative of the original now. The writing style and even the speech patterns are thankfully preserved to a certain extent now (most notably Satoko's, and Rena's occasional moments too, although Rika's for example didn't really make the transition - YenPress with their manga translation is still clearly in the lead in this department), and the English is readable and makes sense. It's miles better than their first translation for sure (although it's unfair to even compare anything to that), and while it might not be perfect, in between the old translation and the fan translations (both of which are dead now anyway, afaik), this is the best one out there.

I'm not getting my hopes up, but I'm curious what they'll have to say about it.

On Kotori's route in KonoSora now. So far so good... well, it's not as dumb as Ageha's route so far, so that's good. I wonder how long the routes actually are?
-
Just reached the second OP in KonoSora, so I guess I'm almost done with the common route. I'm kind of just skimming most of it since I read it once already a year ago or so, so it's going pretty fast - still the common route is surprisingly long. Will skip Ageha's route and get on the new content probably later today. Also started Hirukowashi in Higurashi... but more on that when I finish it. All I will say now is that it's absurdly hilarious, which makes its placement right next to the crucial arcs absolutely mind-blowing. Ryukishi...

I feel like Akiba's Trip loses most of its charm if you haven't been to Akiba yourself at least once, because the recreation of it, down to the ads and PVs, was in my opinion its most impressive point. Also just got my first Platinum on the PS4, yay. I normally don't even care about trophies, but Bloodborne was just too damn fun not to get it. Now I can jump on the backlog of games I bought on sale, I suppose - Sleeping Dogs: DE probably being the first one. I played most of the original but never finished it, so I suppose I will go through the Definitive Edition instead and wrap it all up. Might do my bsest not to get distracted on the open world stuff this time, since I always burn myself out on those and don't finish the story.... open world games are my doom, since I always start collecting absolutely everything, but never actually finish all of it. D:

Well I read the Noah (console) version, that has an ending for each heroine along with the A/AA/B endings present in the PC version. I wrote up summaries for all of them if you missed it, check them out if you're interested.

Oh, this could potentially be amazing. Just surprised this got announced so soon, how about that other joint project? Trian Thology, was it? Same here, I really hope Ryukishi isn't drawing this time around. At least the site suggest that he isn't, so, yay for that!
-
Still coming back to Bloodborne, there's something about the Souls games that lures me back in like nothing else. Just one ending trophy away from the Platinum, too, haha. Was just doing co-op yesterday for fun, and ran into the same guy in two separate areas, one after another. No idea how that happened, but it was hilarious.

What's your favorite japanese food?
Vokoca replied to Private-Oneechan's topic in General Discussion
Tonkatsu ramen for me. <3 Deep-fried things in a broth might look weird at first, but once you taste it, there's no going back... -
How Global is Fuwa (What country do you actually reside in?)
Vokoca replied to Zalor's topic in Members' Lounge
Czech here. Hopefully not for too long though, this country is pretty lame. -
Ushinawareta depressed me more than any utsuge I've ever read when I realised I wasted all that time boring myself to death for no payoff at all. Not but really, I don't think I've left any utsuge feeling depressed, or at least not feeling bad. Muramasa, for example, was incredibly bleak and grim, but the endings felt incredibly fulfilling, despite none of them being "good". If anything, I was depressed when it was all over, then it was time for the void. D:

Ouch, I always forget the PC version didn't have the 'Stop skipping at delusion triggers' options. :x It takes quite a long time to skip through the entire VN, had to do it around 7 times myself to get all the endings...
