  1. Now this is an interesting opinion - I might not agree with it, but it's definitely refreshing after all the ero hate. I think you're good, though - most of VNs still have h-content in them, whether it is necessary or not! As for Ecstasy, it is exactly the same as far as I know, save for new routes and the h-content, obviously. Furthermore, you have to read the whole original before you get to the three new routes, so yes, it does start at the same place.
  2. That was entertaining, please make more. I think any of the threads about h-scenes would make for hilarious source material.
  3. Finished Accela's route in Reminiscence. It was the same boring stuff as usual except for the ending bits, which finally got interesting - and then it all got ruined by a lame magic ending, again. Seriously, if they want to go for a sad ending, they should just do it, not pull back at the last moment every single time - it makes the whole thing incredibly pointless. Back to 6/10, one last route to go. Egh, can't wait to get this over with.
  4. Oh cool, thanks. I will have to go check that place out. Why is my wallet screaming already?
  5. Oh, good move on the Trinity edition, makes things much easier, and it also has a very handy ending checklist. And it's widescreen, yay~ Reminiscence... well, I went into it hoping for a AkaGoei sequel too, but it's nothing like that. You get some cameos, but that's about it - the whole story is rather different in tone, and the protagonist is kind of obnoxious unless he goes into his "serious mode" and acts his part as the 'genius' of the story, but even then the things he does aren't that impressive. He's just a regular MC compared to Kaito, he's just really good at planning stuff when he actually stops being a pervert. But the biggest problem the VN has, in my opinion, is that it lacks the likeable cast AkaGoei had. Even if AkaGoei mostly went with just slice-of-life stuff (save for the second VN), the scenes were all incredibly entertaining since I found the characters really likeable. There was something about the humour that just got me, and having Kaito as the MC allowed them to turn even the would-be rival characters into one of the funniest comic relief characters I've ever seen. Reminiscence, unfortunately, lacks this sort of entertainment, since the comic relief role is mostly forced on the protagonist - and I found that more irritating than funny.
  6. Nice video! I was caught into that crane machine hell quite early on myself. Well, I did a figure out of it in the end... but I think I'll never come close to any of them ever again, for the safety of my wallet. I was just wondering, where did you buy PC VNs? I've been into some game stores to buy some Vita stuff, but none of these had any PC related things, it was all exclusive to consoles. I guess it would make sense not to throw eroges in between stuff for kids, but on the other hand, there were X rated magazines lying in between Shounen Jumps and game guides too.
  7. Tsuki best girl. <3 But yeah, go for the fandisc after you finish the VN. It has some funny after-stories, but most importantly, it has a story detailing the entirety of Kaito's past. It gets referred to quite a bit in the last VN - and while you can definitely skip it, I think it adds quite some depth to the overall story, so I would recommend reading it.
  8. After a lot of suffering long time I've finished Aku's route in Reminiscence. She was my most hated character ever since I started the VN - and well, she was written to be that way, too - but when the turning point came, I've grown to kind of like her, surprisingly enough. The route itself was much more interesting than Nozomi's or Rin's, especially the first half, which finally focused on the protagonist's past, which kept me reading all this time. Finally seeing it unfolded was pretty satisfying, and it made me see the protagonist in a much better light (though that doesn't change the fact is perverted side is still incredibly lame). All good things like to end abruptly in Reminiscence, though, and this route was no exception. The second half deteriorated into the awkward nukige just like the previous two routes before it, and I just wanted it to end quickly. Luckily, Reminiscence's endings are abrupt - and while they're mostly unsatisfying, this one at least felt kind of conclusive. That is, before the scenes after the credits came, I really dislike magic endings. All in all, the route was more enjoyable than the previous two and most of the common route, and even the second half was kept at least relatively readable thanks to the unexpected traits, but it pushes the VN no higher than 7/10. Well, I still have Kizuna's and Accela's routes left; yet I am afraid the VN doesn't have any promising parts left like the past it teased ever since the very beginning. That's a good point. I've recently seen a yuri-related poll on the Czech comunity page, and I was surprised by how many girls participated (that is, until it got hijacked by the yaoi-fangirls, which is nothing unusual there). I was kind of going with the theory that if guys like yuri, but not yaoi, it'd be the opposite for girls, but I suppose I was just stereotyping horribly. Yeah, that is a common theme both in Akatsuki no Goei and Reminiscence. Though I have to say I didn't mind it in the first Akatsuki no Goei much (I liked Tsuki's particularly, since it ends on a high note, before it has a chance to fall into a boring h-scene collection like Reminiscence likes to do), plus there is a fandisc just for that, if that is your thing - and it is filled with equally entertaining slice-of-life hijinks like the common route. The second Akatsuki no Goei VN was more problematic in my opinion - it hypes you up much more during the common route than the first game did (a more serious tone), and then the endings don't quite deliver. Well, a plus point is that about every girl in that story you can think of is a heroine in one way or the other, but it is still kind of disappointing.
  9. Hm, I don't know about the US, but the Czech otaku community is full of fujoshi from my experience. Maybe it's just because of them being so vocal, but I think you would have a hard time finding a girl in the community that doesn't like yaoi. Reading eroge is where it gets problematic though, yeah; especially since people that don't even know English aren't that uncommon here.
  10. Kimi to Kanojo to Kanojo no Koi had a lot of amazing moments where I didn't know if I should run away screaming and never turn on my computer again, or just laugh manically at how clever it all was. It completely changed the way I look at VNs, and I'm not going to easily forget that experience.
  11. I honestly only enjoyed the parts that didn't rely on politics too much in those cases, the circumstances surrounding the actual people and such - so yeah, it was only interesting at times. I keep waiting for some crazy battle of wits but save for some good moments in the last two cases of the common route, there weren't any. Well, as I said, I will somehow finish the first game, since at least that whole past trauma deal the MC has going on keeps my interest, but it might be a bit hard.
  12. Ugh. :/ Well, I'm planning on finishing it up either way, but I might stay away from the sequel. It's a shame, I enjoyed AkaGoei a lot, but Remi has almost none of its charm.
  13. I'm actually reading Reminiscence at the moment as well. Finished Rin's and Nozomi's routes and I'm not really impressed at all so far. So far I've enjoyed Akatsuki no Goei much more, but I'm hoping it gets better in the other routes/second game. Does it?
  14. Hm, so the story is actually good? I was thinking about giving it a go eventually out of morbid curiosity, so if the story at least makes up for it, I could fight my way through the h-scenes somehow, I think. Maybe.... I'll try.
  15. Everything by Clock-Up? I'm not into that kind of stuff so I haven't read any myself, but their works looked really messed up from what I did see.
  16. I wasn't really upset, but now that I think back on it, I definitely wouldn't mind more Akatsuki no Goei. Even if it was just another fandisc, I wouldn't complain, since the great humour and likeable characters carry the series' slice-of-life moments perfectly. As for a VN that almost ruined itself for me because of a rushed ending, then that'd definitely be MLA.That whole last mission segment was a mess. It was incredibly predictable, brought nothing new with it and absolutely buried any potential there was for an epic conclusion. I didn't really mind the ending that followed, though; and no, I'm not really planning on reading Altered Fable, because I found the Muv Luv characters honestly quite unlikeable with some very rare exceptions. Oh, you're completely right! I'd love it if there was more after the ending, but it'd probably get boring really quick with the interesting plot out of the equation.
  17. Finally finished Nozomi's route in Reminiscence. Unfortunately, I don't have anything good to say about the VN, I'm afraid. The common route seemed ridiculously long and felt too episodic - while there probably is a narrative spread across them all, it is so thin that it's hardly noticeable. What's worse, the episodes themselves aren't that interesting - that is, at least the political stuff isn't. The protagonist gets treated like a (broken) genius, but most of what he does seems completely unimpressive. The battle of wits the story promised only really comes along in the last parts of the common route, but it's too little too late at that point. As for Nozomi's route, it felt really short - and just when I thought it would get into the interesting parts, showing more of the protagonist's potential, it just ended. Akatsuki no Goei (especially the second one) might've been bad in this respect, but this was downright atrocious. All in all, while there are some fun parts, it's nothing but disappointment. Hopefully the teased parts, presumably saved for the two 'main' routes, make up for this, but it's a 6/10 at best now. And no Aika route is pure suffering, why would they do this.
  18. I was considering getting the limited edition, but sunglasses, really? I'll just buy the regular edition I think.
  19. The Telltale games are more like the good old point and click adventures than anything else. You explore the environment, interact with it, solve puzzles - they're all a staple of that genre. The dialogue choices might be the only thing that stand out, but that doesn't really change the genre in my opinion.
  20. I'll make it even weirder for you then - Professor Dave's channel is a special h-scene collection built into Meikyuu. Yeah.
  21. Haha, I might fall for that one too. Though if I'm not mistaken, she does have a route in the fandisc.
  22. Hahaha, wow, this is ridiculous. It's finally here, micro-transactions in VNs! Pay money to read the next line - what more could you ever want! DLC routes maybe?
  23. This made me laugh really hard. But then, the more I thought this was actually real, the scarier it became.
  24. They definitely have their moments. I particularly like this one:
  25. If you thought Yuuji was an ass, G-Senjou will drive you nuts - because Kyousuke is, in many cases, really quite the bastard. It's one of the things that makes the VN fun though, watching the protagonist change. Enjoy!
