  1. I know somebody who loves to delete all her own messages on Skype. I vote "no" because somebody will inevitably try and get the post below and the post above to connect in funny, funny ways and then...
  2. Only the first game? I'm proud to say I never touched any of the fighting ones either
  3. Might have been before he was admin then. TBH I can't recall when Steve was made admin. Wasn't on as much back then.../
  4. Probably because I can't participate until you do Haha, just a little joke...
  5. Maybe there are a great number of Old Hands eager for news?
  6. Site almost getting totalled a number of times, for various reasons.
  7. Definitely more complicated than that, but it's the number 1 rule because beginner writers constantly suffer from this problem. The number 1 problem with writing is an overuse of “tell” which is why this rule is thrown out so much – in other words, learn the basics before you try and be fancy. You are correct about which style is needed to create a vivid image, you should realise though that tell limits the information received by the reader and is therefore infinitely harder to create a vivid image by telling. So if someone is a beginner, if they aren't a master wordsmith who has mastered the language through decades of study, if they aren't a natural linguistic genius, they should stick with mostly “showing.” The rule's there for a reason. "Showing by telling" - not for beginners imo, advanced concept employed a lot by people who have a certain control over the language. Regarding the topic - anime has the privilege of being one of the mediums most likely to want to drum information into your head over and over again, like the creators think the audience is too stupid to get it. Considering most anime are aimed at a younger audience, it’s too be expected though. I generally don’t like the style anime employs, I prefer a more subtle writing style tbh. That doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy anime, it’s just I don’t enjoy their storytelling style, I find it a little crude.
  8. Tay, Nay, a couple of others have definitely done their best to make sure Fuwa survived. But under Aaeru and then later under Steve, Fuwa was hopping from one calamity to the next, under Tay Fuwa's now stable and there's probably a 5 year (at least) plan being formed to drive Fuwa forward. The changes that have happened and the new site being constructed are only just the beginning. ... Maybe. Perhaps... depending on what the oracles and haruspices say of course. Exciting times, and Tay is definitely the best man for leading this community.
  9. Getting to see Persona 5...... oh wait, I was dreaming that. Most of the stuff revealed at E3 that I was interested in will happen in the distant future. E3 remains dead to me (TOTALLY NOT BITTER ABOUT NO PERSONA 5 SHOWING)
  10. Wasn't Steam already going to do that?
  11. Regarding the dakimakure, IIRC everyone who selected one of those tiers had their money refunded. I seem to remember Grisaia's total taking a large dip.
  12. If My Heart Had Wings was Moenovel.
  13. I feel like Ferdinand the Hair Stylist is trying to imply something here, impart an important message, but for the life of me I can't figure out what it could be...
  14. A friend who's into Fighting Games said it was lousy and worth getting only if you're hooked on the series.
  15. Question 2 is missing a "conspiring" option.
  16. You either get something fast, or you get something good. It's very rare you get both.
  17. Heh, there was a fair bit of begging on both sides when games like Wasteland and Torment got Kickstarted XD Lots of hysteria and tears from fans if I recall :3
  18. Well, kickstarter really became viable for Adventure and isometric (old-school) RPGs because those were dead genres. The adventure genre had been (sorta) dead since the 90s, and nobody had made an RPG that catered to actual RPG fans since … NWN2? Fans were desperate for new games, and they threw money at developers to make them. I understand why because I am one of those RPG gamers, and look at all the goodies we now have (Shadowrun, Pillars, Divinity, Wasteland. Torment’s coming.) It’s a second Golden Age really. Kickstarter was necessary because Publishers wouldn’t fund the games we like to play. And companies wouldn’t assume the risk when failure meant bankruptcy and going out of business. So the fans assumed the risk instead, and they assumed those risks willingly. That being said, that doesn’t apply to stuff like Shenmue 3 (which already has funding) and Grisaia (which was already released illegally.)
  19. Is this good news? It sounds like good news...
  20. I don't believe contributors are investors, they seem more like Sponsors. And people who use Kickstarter seem like they're competing for Patronage.
