As Eiyuu*Senki and Eiyuu*Senki GOLD are completely different games, I thought I'd make a separate thread so there is no confusion as to which game is being discussed. First off, if you have a moderate amount of Japanese, as in have watched anime/played galge for a years, you'll find that the interface patch is enough to get you through the game and not miss as much as you'd think. If you've trying to learn kanji, reading along as the lines are spoken is helping to take me from "sounding out" words in kana and kanji to seeing whole words as I do in English. If you played and liked the first one, the lack of a full translation at this time isn't the hurdle to enjoying the story you might think. The help/info thread on Bunny Black was a great asset to me when making my way through that game, so I thought I'd start something similar for Eiyuu*Senki GOLD, although you shouldn't expect this post to have as much info as the amazing OP did there. I'm still making my way through this one. I have a few things to share that might help people as they struggle through it. (^_-) Q:(Insert area here) is too hard and I get creamed right away! A:I hit a few of these snags in the first game. The easiest/cheapest way to deal with this is to take the 1 action every 5 turns approach. Accumulate as much money as possible and constantly pour it into more troops for your core 6 characters. Using this approach I've steamrolled just about everything in my path in the main quest up until this point, with only the EU, Babylon and Dark Area to complete. I saved up all of my events and ran through them 1 every 5 turns before my imminent invasion of the EU and now have 6 characters over 20000 troops and close to 20 million gold on hand. Q:Why can't I conquer Irkukst no matter how much I attack it? A:Do the character events you have stockpiled. Eventually you'll get a mission in Sendai that will come up with a plan to deal with this. Q:Why can't I invade the EU? A:Same as a above, when the story progresses enough you will get an event in Sendai. Q:What is the best way to get the Strategy King achievement? A:You can do what I did and go balls to the wall for the first 50 actions of the game, which gets difficult in a few points, or save up a bunch of events with the girls and then run through them all when not at war with anyone. This one seems to be a bit on an anomoly, as I used up all of my action points on 50 straight turns just to make sure I got it, and the graphic never appeared. I also have a few questions if anyone would be kind enough to help me out. (^_^) On the 6th floor of Shambala you fight 6 Montezumas with 333,333 HP each. How are you supposed to beat them in 50 turns? I can't believe that you're supposed to waste enough time to get 6 characters 300k+ troops each. What's the deal with Wakuwaku? When I pick one of them I get a super easy fight, nothing happens and the mission will repeat like that forever. If you keep a hero in New Game+, do they keep the HP they gained during previous runs of the game? And does the Seiso patch give you option to keep Seiso in NG+? And for all off you hackers out there, create a patch that will let me trade Eiyuu*Senki Benkei for MajiKoi Benkei. (^_^)

Majikoi A Translation Project Discussion

Which side of winter? Winter 2016 is next month, or a year from now. Winter is Japanese for Q1 (January, February and March) so it should theoretically be out by the end of March. Then again, as it feels like this game could easily be renamed Majikoi Forever, you might not want to hold your breath on that one. Speaking from personal experience, if you can write an email in half broken Japanese telling them you want to buy something like that, you'll probably get a reply from them with their intentions. I'm the first to complain when Japanese companies make it difficult for me to give them money for things I want to buy, but every time I've sent an email asking about something I would want to buy and apologize for the poor Japanese of a western aniota, I've always gotten a reply from someone excited just to know people know they exist on the other side of the planet. Typically I get a reply in less than 24 hours. It's not as much of a shot in the dark as you'd think. -
Do not discount the classic Jewel Knights Crusaders, my fellow Oppaiseijin. Super powers, big ass titties, secret organizations, world conquest, heavenly hooters, nurses, magic girls, ravishing racks, a super villainess for you to fuck, so cliche it's good story...it's got everything a red blooded boob loving heterosexual man could want. Three of my all time favorite racks in one place. (^_^) Is it cold in here or are you just happy to see me? Idols Galore is home to some nice racks as well (pic is smaller res, but the middle and right girls' boobs are epic winning).

You will find the legitimate price of H games to be quite high by western standards, when you are fortunate enough to even find a Japanese company that will take your money and supply you with the product. Sometimes Amazon.co.jp will allow you to buy new products sold by Amazon outside of Japan, other times they will not. You can try dlsite.com to see if they happen to have a title you want, or take a look at auctions.yahoo.co.jp to see if you can find a used copy at a price that won't break the bank after paying a proxy bidding company to bid on it for you and ship it to you. If you don't mind a download, you can also try purchasing directly from the publisher's website. That is typically the cheapest way to get a game legitimately when you are not in Japan. Unfortunately, the link at VNDB leads to a domain that certainly isn't being used by a Japanese game company so that may not help you a whole lot. If you happen to know what the new URL is, I'd suggest looking for a way to buy it there.

FYI this guide is not complete. After following every route on this guide there are still 5 H scenes unseen (not counting the 2 removed for legal reasons) and only 67% of the route map complete. According to the map there are still 8 endings and 3 other route points.

Does anyone know why Super Sonico is in this game? She doesn't really do anything, like at all, and has no reason for being there. Aside from that, why is she working part time as a waitress? Isn't she a little busy with her music career and being a full time student? Perhaps this is explained in another Overflow game, but there seems to be no reason for her to be there and it will only burn goodwill anyone who bought the game for Super Sonico would have had.

Recommendation thread that hopefully isn't annoying!

Are we even talking about the same title? https://vndb.org/v29 It's a mature title certainly (we are supposed to be adults by the time we play eroge so I may be making unfair assumptions) with heavy themes not meant for children, and it weaves together to tell complex romance stories. Just like real romance novels. Perhaps you should refrain from judging until you experience it for yourself. -
Yes she does. The Saionji Sandwich is my favorite route thus far.

My Grisaia has been stalled by School Days HQ and Summer Days, but it's very different in feel from the anime. The anime really seemed to push the bounds of things you would expect to happen in real life, while thus far in the VN it's been as normal as you could expect in a school with only a few girls for students. Perhaps it will delve into the explosions, conspiracies, crazy actions scenes, etc. but it has not done much of that so far. To your original question, I will recommend Crescendo. It's not full of hentai scenes or flashy effects - it's a straight romance story done very well with the expected payoff if you make the right choices. The story is good, the characters are interesting, it's well written, the art has a uique feel to it. Everything you could want when you're looking for the exact opposite of a nukige that's only there to get your rocks off. -

I am of course referring to the Beatmania of beating off (unless you go double-fisted for some IIDX action). It's safe to say just about everyone here appreciates 2D women...so who else has challenged it? Completed it? The first time I challenged it I got creamed by those amazing boobs at the beginning of round 2, but now I can safely complete it with a Fleshlight STU. It's done wonders for my performance with 3D women, to the point that they're sore for the rest of the day and can't take anymore when I'm ready for round 1.5. For those who have not yet experienced this Hora Hora Revolution, you can download the best version of the video here: https://blog.onahole.eu/fapheroes/fap-hero-1

I was the third to like this. Ctrl+C Ctrl+V all of this. Additionally, it is taking several seconds to move between pages in threads when it was formerly instantaneous. Is it supposed to be considerably slower than the old site? It almost feels like the new animation to load between pages is mocking me, taking its sweetass time to load. It feels like I'm playing the crappy PSX port of an awesome arcade game.

More information would definitely be needed. After 3 runs the only part of the game I can remember with mobs of yellows (we're talking about human soldiers, right?) comes late enough in the game that you should be more than strong enough to handle it, unless you managed to progress through half of the game without killing anything and with the crappiest party configuration imaginable. This is very much an old school RPG and a fair amount of level building is required.

Are there any CD sets/online information products that teach you how to be a proper seiyuu for anime, galge, etc.? I know the best thing to do would be to just to go to The Tokyo School of Anime for two years, but I'm more looking at getting a head start and seeing if it's something I could do well at all before making that kind of investment of time and money. It's a LOT more work than you'd think, and any excuse to go to Tokyo for 2 years is a good one (until you look at HOW FUCKING MUCH it costs to live in Tokyo that is, I saw something similar to my $600/month apartment on offer for 500,000,000 JPY plus 160,000/mo in various fees, 6 tatami room under the train tracks in the yakuza part of town here I come T_T). I've been through these: http://www.altfeld.com/mastery/products/iv1.html http://www.altfeld.com/mastery/products/iv2.html Is there anything similar aimed at the wannabe seiyuu in Japan? My Google and Yahoo.co.jp skills only got me schools in Tokyo and Osaka.

I applaud your effort good sir. It will certainly be put to good use once I can get started on this one. On a totally unrelated note, Katsura Manami is STACKed indeed. I approve.
-
Seriously? Did you even read the first the post in this thread? Here's a hint for everyone with a post that goes something along the lines of "durr, me am no good at the playing of the game." READ THE THREAD. This is most comprehensive information on this game available in English. Your question has already been answered. Don't expect help from others if you are too lazy to make an effort at helping yourself first.

Majikoi A Translation Project Discussion
EcchiOujisama replied to twdarkeh's topic in Fan Translation Discussion
What...WHAT!? Did anyone tell Minatosoft? Having been on Minatosoft.com today, it sure looks like they own Kimiaru, seeing as they tried to get me to buy it and supplied me with very attractive Shinra-sama wallpaper. If they don't own it, who does?!?! I know there wasn't an Ageha route in the original version, but are you sure there wasn't an Ageha route in the 通常版/Regular Edition released in 2011? I was under the impression it was added there, having added everything that was in the PS2 and PSP versions along with more voices. Now watch them lose half the rights to A-5 in a Mahjong game somehow and it'll never be finished. -
Majikoi A Translation Project Discussion

I thought there were no Majikoi routes in A or anything else for Ageha because Ren has a route with her in Kimiaru? Or am I remembering that wrong? -
0) It was originally going to be a Bible Black simulator with you in the Kitami role, with you dominating and raping girls at your high school who also happened to have part time jobs as bunny girl. Then one guy had another idea, and somebody else had another idea, and another idea, and the whole game went in a different direction. Or it could have something to do with the 6 years of English all people take in school has jack shit to do with understanding or using the slightest bit of English. I prefer the former, because I want to play that game. 1) Wizard girl no (the human characters suck as a rule), Dragon's Lair and Devil's Gate yes because finishing each lets you bring one more character into NG+ when you beat the game. The boss in Dragon's Lair respawns forever and is the best source experience in the game for time invested. 2) I just gave you one that's already in the thread. How to get the prison scenes, Ayaka scenes are Cass scenes are well covered in this thread. RTFF.

Something I have found helpful is to have 3 Rock Hawk class demons in your party. Their radar effect on the map is cumulative, and will give you enough to work with to speed up missions throughout the whole game even if you don't end up getting a Hawk Feather or Box of Light.
-
On the topic of upgrading to a higher class of monster... It's definitely not worth it if you only plan on playing the game one time. However, if you plan on multiple playthroughs bringing them over via NG+, or want to challenge a higher difficulty level, it is something to consider. While it isn't a massive difference, the higher classes of monsters have higher maximum stats. I have tested this by comparing Rock Hawk to Roc Drill and Slasher to Cleaver at level 99 on the same playthrough. In both cases the last version of the monster class had the highest maximum stats.

Majikoi A Translation Project Discussion
EcchiOujisama replied to twdarkeh's topic in Fan Translation Discussion
Actually, there is no way Mon could be 18 given what they said about her. After skipping grades she's still only in the second year of high school (third year by western standards). That's pushing the possibility of 18 without the grade skipping. I know they claim she's "18" for sake of legality, but come on. The mathematical impossibility aside, let's use the optical method and consider the likelihood of anyone not hitting puberty by 18. It's crap like this that caused Yamato's father to say Japan was a rotten country not worth saving and thus he threw it away like a used condom. -
Like I said, I've only seen the anime, but as a martial artist who can melt a gigantic block of ice with my ki by sitting on it, I find it far more feasible that someone with several times my power with genetics that have proven ideal for martial arts and ki cultivation could straight up murder a star with Hoshi Goroshi than much of what I saw in the Grisaia anime, yes. It's like the difference between believing Washu could invent a weapon that could destroy the universe and believing that the gaijin in Majikoi could do it by whining to her dad or Maru-san. The former has been established to realistically have that ability within the confines of her setting, the latter has not.

Once would think googling something like buy shakujou (or khakkhara in the original Sanskrit) would find people willing to take your money, but not so much. Ebay comes back with old rusted crap or something hand held for a the price of the real deal. Even putting 錫杖 into YJA isn't much help. Where can one go to get a badass shakujou like Benkei had in Majikoi or Shinzaki Jinsei would bring to the ring puroresu? It shouldn't be this hard to hand over money for something that doesn't seem too insanely obscure.
