Ohhh no you dont! ... ok .... fine ...

Damn ... I dont know if its hard or not but I am totally reading this: https://vndb.org/v828 Thanks for the suggestions, all good! Keep them coming! Can never get enough kemonomimi.
-
Good morning fuwa. So I´m looking for a recommendation again, this time its something with Neko or Kemonomimi heroine(s). Has to be something with romance, a light moege ish thing would be the best, though anything goes as long as it fits the basic criteria. (Something with like fantasy would be pretty cool as well.) Preferably translated, though if it isn't, not anything super complicated to read please. I´ve read Nekopara vol 1-0 and sonohana nyuu jene.

Haha, yeah it has like 2 choices. First trial I´ve played that actually has choices in it. Really surprised me. It just made me want the game even more though. -
Ah thank you very much that info ^^ , i like to know more about Grisaia no Kajitsu, i heard very good thing about. if i did buy from Denpasoft is it downloaded or disc? . very interested to read Grisaia no Kajitsu is a very good read. Buying it from Denpasoft means its a download. You buy the game, and then you get the links to download the files on their site.

Welcome! Glad to hear you like the medium. It is really awesome. To answer the question, where to buy VNs. The western market is slightly limited, but there is still options out there. For instance, Denpasoft has a few novels, including Grisaia no Kajitsu, one of the most popular translated VNs. There is also Mangagamer, where you can find plenty of good, translated novels. (And also others that are ... less good, more "porny". But hey, to each their own.) Also, although most people don't like VNs available on steam, there is still plenty available there. Do keep in mind that 18+ content is not allowed on steam, and so usually these are censored versions. For the most part, the 18+ versions are available on the previously mentioned sites instead. Examples: Nekopara, Grisaia no Kajitsu, Princess Evangile etc. There is of course also the option of buying the Japanese game through a 3rd party who then ships it outside Japan, though this method is often very costly. (Think 100$+ for certain titles.) My reccomendations to start of would be: If my heart had wings (Steam, can install a restoration patch to get 18+ content) Grisaia no Kajitsu (Denpasoft 18+, or steam for all ages) Princess Evangile (Mangagamer 18+, or steam for an all ages version) Shuffle! + Tick! Tack! (sequel) (Mangagamer, 18+) Eden* They were only two on the planet (Steam, or Mangagamer for a 18+ version) Planetarian (steam, all ages version only) (@Kawasumi, I nearly reccomended Euphoria to this poor soul... Look what you have done to me! )

What makes Grisaia no Kajitsu so great?

It might just be the fact that you are rereading it and have time to pay attention to more of the details. I didn't feel the same way as you when I read this visual novel and I felt that the characters did break out of their molds in parts of the story. Hidden Content And even though people are predictable and formulaic by nature, we are still able to show moments spontaneity that exceed these expectations. Angelic Howl (Amane route) spoilers Hidden Content This is reinforced casually throughout most of the game by Yuuji's narration. He routinely classifies every character as a specific type and uses this to explain and predict their actions, and sometimes manipulate them. Failure to do so is chalked up to his lack of experience, and not the chaotic nature of humanity. I'm mostly just bothered because the message is "accept the role laid out for you, don't try to fight it." That the nail that sticks out gets hammered down. The heroine routes can be seen as Yuuji bringing the heroines back in line, reigning in their eccentric behavior and making them fit into their roles in society instead of allowing them to be unique. Makina could have remained as she was and supported herself through the sale of her sculptures, which she occasionally earned good money from, even as a total amatuer. But instead she was encouraged to speak and behave more "normally" and get a normal job. And this is a good thing, according to the game. While I think it's a pretty fucking shit philosophy, lol. These thoughts just suddenly hit me tonight as I was going through Angelic Howl during my reread, and I couldn't stop getting bothered by it. I thought maybe I could just get it off my chest and forget about it but now I'm just even more bothered by it and have started unprovoked ranting. Great job, me! Damn, I never thought of that before. Although, the way I see it its just Kazuki being so extremly smart to the point where she doesn't neccesarily predict everyones future directly, but instead consideres every option based on what she knows of the individuals, and concludes that it is likely they will act like that. Pretty standard psychology. She says it clearly, "it might not go down like that". Its just her prediction based of human nature in extreme situations, and what she knows of the people involved. That is also the reason why she concludes that Amane most likely wont do the same, but she still isn't sure. This is probably why she gives it a lot of time before truly concluding it will truly end like that. The part about Yuuji, is it really that strange that he wants to help chracters get back into whats considered "normality"? The girls are in a very fragile state, mentaly, not to mention that they are essentially blocked off from the "normal" outside world. Helping them back into that normality is a good thing, because the way things were going, they would not be very well off on their own when the graduate. This does not mean that its wrong to be different, but it mearly states that helping them get more into "normal" lives will make it easier for them to choose their own future when they get to that point. You have a good point, I never even thought of this before, but I personally don't think its that much of a problem. It's primarily just Kazuki analyzing people, and Yuuji attempting to mimick the same behavoir that he clearly learned from his sister. The blunt thruth of it is: humans are extremly easy to predict, especially if you have prior knowlegde about said person. -
What makes Grisaia no Kajitsu so great?
Dergonu replied to starlessn1ght's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Hmm, well I wouldn't say that. Yes, they are kind of short and the H-Scenes are quite nice but the after routes do give some nice, heartwarming story as well. I personally very much enjoyed the Sachi and Makina ones. So its not a complete waste even if the H-Scenes are not in the first games' english release. -

Meiykuu is currently being translated by Sekai Project, like VirginSmasher said. Here is the most recent update they have made on ther progress: "Same as last month, there's been some schedule slips but we're still on track, once it's closer to being done we'll let you know. There's still technical/editing/qa work required after that so we do not have a firm release date just yet." Now the game is significantly shorter than Kajitsu, so it probably wont be as long to translate, not to mention that a good portion of the extra content in meiykuu is H-Scenes, that SP probably wont release, so thats less translating for them. (I believe that Kajitsu took about 2 years.) But we wont know anything for sure until they come with a more firm statement about its progress. I really hope they release the uncensored version anyways. I don't want to have to look at CGs just to see them. Even if they'll probably bog down the story for me, I've heard the major route in there is pretty good. I hope it doesn't turn out like how Majikoi S did for me. Yeah it is likely that they will release the uncensored version through denpasoft like they did with Kajitsu a little after the main game's release. (I personally hope so too, as the H-Scenes are quite enjoyable in Meiykuu ) As for the story, the main route is really good, yes. Also, the H-scenes have very little to do with the plot so its essentially uncut when it comes to story. Most of the H-Scenes are in either the heroines after routes or in non cannon H-scenes added as a bonus in the game. One thing that is slightly annoying with Meiykuu is that the ending is a cliffhanger, and that cliffhanger will be resolved in Rakuen, so when the game comes out, it becomes a patience test to wait for Rakuen. Overall I think fans of the first game will be very happy with Meiykuu though, even if the H-Scenes are cut. -
Wait ... did she see the scene? That one would be hard to explain to ones' parents

Welcome! Like your taste in VNs. Have to ask, favorite Grisaia girl? Looked over your list and saw Shuffle! but not Tick! Tack! So for recommendations I´d say go with that. Its a sequel continuing Nerrines route with lots of awesomeness in it. Hey! I only got one moe when I joined! Thats not fair! I demand a new moe! (Wait, if I get a new one, does that mean my soul gets forfeited too? I-I´m scared...)

Well I came down with a cold yesterday and have been stuck at home all day. Started playing Princess evagile after taking a small break from tick! tack! Ended up loving it and I´m now on chapter 12 in one play session x_X When I looked up from the screen just now I swear I saw Rise standing in my room. (Think thats my queue to stop playing) Anyways, yeah like I said I really like it so far. Its light and a little predictable, but still keeps me laughing. Really like the goofy comedy and ... colorful characters. Looking forward to the routes. Gonna do Rise first, (giggity), cuz pink hair = instant win. (Though Chiho comes in close second because... twintails!)

*Glares at you angrily* How ... dare you! Nemu best girl, 11/10 times.

Ok so, wall of text incoming. There is probably a fair share of spelling mistakes in there, so bare with me. Anyways, it does sound kind of like the VNs ending to be honest. Remember, the bet between Kanae and Nemu was: If Keisuke kills Nemu in the "game" (which is being controled by Kanae behind the scenes), then Nemu wins the bet and "can have him back". Keisuke was mortally wounded by a trap before the game started, forcing nemu to make a bet with Kanae. He does end up killing Nemu by breaking her neck after she continuosly pushes him, and thereby Nemu wins the bet. The three year time skip is because Kanae actually steals nemu from the research facility after Keisuke is released from the game, because she is a spy for a different company and she wants to continue to experiment on Nemu. During those 3 years, Aoi Natsuki and Keisuke tried to hunt down Kanae and eventually Kanae gave away her position due to being found by the company she stole Nemu from. She is killed, but she managed to hide nemu. She didnt want Nemu to fall into the companies hands, and decides to give in to the bet, and gives Nemu back to Keisuke. The thing where they have sex at the end doesn't happen in the VN, but thats most likely to show the relationship that Nemu and Keisuke actually has. Because the truth was that Nemu's evil acts in the game was just a facade she put on to win the bet by making Keisuke kill her. In reality, Nemu was the childhood friend that Keisuke loved and cherished, but his memories were tampered with by Kanae. In the end, Keisuke manages to take back Nemu and they ... "live happily ever after" I suppose. As for the reason why everyone wanted Nemu, that is because she is "the next sleeping beauty." I don't know how much the anime goes into that, but to put it simple: She is an important research subject that can potentially make huge breakthroughs in science, and people like Kanae wants her so that they can continue that research. But, its not that simple, as the only way to truly make her capable of filling the role of "sleeping beauty," she must fall into a deep, deep despair that makes her not want to live. That is the reason Kanae agrees to the bet in the first place. She thinks that Nemu will break down from having to treat the love of her life so horribly, and she doesn't think that Keisuke will get to kill her before that happens. The reason that Nemu doesnt know Keisuke at the end is that all the way at the end of the game, Keisuke actually did make Nemu fall into a deep despair by forcing her to accept the real world. She wanted to make an eden where the two of them could live together forever but Keisuke wouldn't accept that, and so her mind was essentially destroyed. But she still had "flesh memories" of all the things that Keisuke taught her and showed her, and instead of telling that long tale they can just say "Oh they love each other so they have sex" in the anime. Ugh ... hope that clearifies some of your questions at least. I realize it might be confusing as all hell, and to be honest, it is. The only way to turly get what is going on is by reading the novel.

This is really nice of you I have all the games, but I´ll be participating for my friend who doesn't have an account here. He is fairly new to VNs, and he is very interested in Eden*, so I´ll be hoping to win that key for him. You said something cute, and there is nothing cuter than Kotori-Chan from Love live! GL to everyone! (Pic turned out really tiny, but just open it in a new page to truly see her kawaiiness!)
