  1. You set the thread to poll only content- if you do that people can't comment. |д゚) Fixed it for you. I take it you didn't want it that way, seeing as you ask for people's opinions. (/ω\) I love physicals, though I don't buy them too often for a few reasons. 1) Shipping tends to be as expensive as the item, if not more, so I can only afford physicals now and then. I tend to just pick the games I really like because of that. 2) I love special editions. If it's literally just a box and the CD and nothing more, I probably won't get it. I like artbooks, drama CDs etc to come with the physical so there's a bit more to it. 3) Norway sucks. There's a bunch of games I can't import due to Norway's laws, so I can't get all the physicals I want. (Like anything from Clock Up etc.) Have to stick with digital games in those cases.
  2. And with that, two out of my three favorite VNs have recieved butchered "localizations." ChuSinGura was first, Kimisora second. (If SakuraGame touches Chrono Box I swear...) I'm also a huge fan of the Soleil series from Skyfish, and have been hoping to either see it handled by a big company like MG, JAST etc who can do it justice, or perhaps even to work on it myself. But I guess there's a decently big chance freaking SakuraGame will butcher those games too now... *sigh* Y u do dis...
  3. Hey, welcome! (*´ω`)/
  4. Clannad and basically anything else from Key. Their games seem fun and I've heard lots of good stuff about them, buuut... nope. Just can't get into them.
  5. They already censored the first two games, so I don't see why that would change suddenly. We already know that MoeNovel planned on censoring even outside Steam so Steam changing their policy has 0 effect on them I'd imagine. Another censored game for western fans I guess.
  6. Damn, that sucks. Crossing my fingers for future releases, then. (I'll still get this though. Looking forward to seeing those memes in English (´⊙ω⊙`) )
  7. Uh, I'm curious, what exactly do you mean by that? No erotic game in Japan was made to be uncensored. I mean, those are the laws, after all. Companies still do it for western releases, though, as the laws don't apply here. If a de-mosiac version is on the table, I'd think the best option would be to do it for the launch and not at a later date, (unless it would be a massive set-back time wise,) as lots of fans prefer uncensored games, (some of which won't buy games with mosiacs at all.)
  8. 1 is really nice. Love the colors, so pwetty
  9. My question is... why do I know the answer to this already?
  10. Looks like one of my favorite VNs might be next in line I was really hoping to TL this myself for a company some day. SakuraGame, I hope you step on like, all the legos.
  11. It's way too short like this for me to be interested in it, tbh. Maybe I'll buy it when all the parts are out. I'm not a fan of periodic releases as is. One where the parts are literally an hour each sounds pretty dumb for a visual novel.
  12. Just a reminder that piracy is against Fuwanovel's rules. If you want to discuss where to get the game, please link official sources, or take such talks elswhere.
  13. Actually, this just happened. Seems like they really are starting to allow straight up ero on Steam. (This game features actual H-scenes, not just "some lewd", so looks like eroge on Steam is a thing now.)
  14. Do you have a source for this information? Translating ChuSinGura is... extremely hard. Like, I'm an official translator, but I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole at the moment. The difficulty of the Japanese, the required knowledge of Japanese history + the amount of text in general makes me extremely sceptical that "some guy" would be able to produce a good translation for this. Especially since he is "in need of help." As for your other question, I own the physical game for all the ChuSinGura titles, including Miburo.
  15. Hm true. If you can add money using a foreign credit card, then use the balance as if it was a JP gift card, that's quite the life hack by itself though (´・ω・)
  16. Hmm, and is that usable across regions? Idk if it maybe registers your account on one domain, and considers you from that region, so the balance won't work on others. Seeing as normal gift cards works like that, it's possbile. (If not, that's a super neat feature.)
  17. For any region, though? I mean if you are currently not in Japan. (If you can choose the region, then I did not, lol.)
  18. Are you using a Japanese gift card? If you're using one from your region, it won't work. Using a Japanese gift card with no western credit cards registered works for me. (I also have an actual Japanese address; idk if maybe using a fake one could also cause issues?) You can buy Japanese Amazon gift cards digitally online from different sites, though there is obviously a chance you'll get scammed, so don't go with anything that looks shady. I personally use Play-Asia for DMM, Amazon and Itunes gift cards when I need to get past the credit card restrictions on JP sites. It's possible that there are other sites offering better prices. I just use this because I've used it before and know I can trust it.
  19. While I get that you don't want to release your games outside steam FIRST, know that you are losing sales by not doing so at all. (I haven't bought Newton, as I simply don't want to buy VNs on steam.) It will be the same for this new game, too. I hope that you do start putting your games on other platforms soon. Until then, I'll be skipping them, at least, and I know others that will too. If you look at any other VN publisher in the west, you'll see that they pretty much always release the standalone 18+ ver. and the Steam ver. at the same time.
  20. Thing about Cruise Sign is that it is the ENTIRE game, + the fandisk and a new all-ages route specifically desgined for PSvita. This is just a censored version of the fandisk and nothing else. So, it's not really the same. But yeah, for someone like yourself who does not enjoy H-scenes, this might be just fine as long as the TL is good. I have a feeling you'd be skipping the H content anyways.
  21. Fandisks tend to be made for those perverts. It's normally just new H-scenes for the old heroines, and some short scenarios for new heroines where H is the main focus. So, you'll be losing a good 40% of the game with this release, at least. Flight Diary does also have some extra story content, so that is something. But yeah, you are losing a lot of the fandisk with an all-ages release. Hopefully the TL is okay, so people at least get to enjoy the story. Then again, Moenovel... you never know with them. It's a real shame that they refuse to do 18+ releases, especially once they start to dig into fandisks, where the H is such a big part of the game.
  22. Working for Cherry Kiss, and I can assure you; no machine TLs were used in my TL But yeah, companies to look out for: SakuraGame, machine TLers. Moenovel, ehh. A bit iffy. Sometimes they make ok TLs, sometimes they poop out garbage close to machine TL level. Generally, I'd recommend you at least look at the steam screenshots and stuff before buying from them, to gauge the quality. (Also, remember that they always censor the porn in their VNs, so if that triggers you, stay away from Moenovel.) Hikari field, machine TL like quality, though they have promised to improve the script of their English release(s), and seem to be working on that atm, so we'll have to wait and see what the result will be.
  23. Second both of these! Good taste, sir. These are great. Chrono Box has some horror themes, and is overall just a very "creepy" experience for a good part of the game. Iwaihime is just straight up unsettling at times. The dolls, ahh! (The reason they are "full of moeblob" is that these are denpa games. They look like one thing, "moe" for example, but in reality they are something entirely different. A little different from pure horror games, where they don't really try to hide what the game is and just throw horror at you from the start. I find denpa more enjoyable, as it becomes even harder to predict when and how the horror elements will pop out.)
  24. If you want a short explanation of who can do what on the mod team, it's pretty much in the rules already. Also, moderators will enforce and interpret the rules a little differently. We have been making an effort recently to communicate more before taking action, + we keep a log of all moderation, so everyone knows what the other moderators are up to. (Especially for us board mods, so that the higher-ups knows what we're doing.) I completely agree that the staff page needs a full re-work. It's ... very outdated. We don't even have a chat feature anymore, RIP. Certainly something that should be looked into.
