  1. Hmm, I don't really have a recommendation that fits all your criteria, but one that fits some at least: (Before I even get into the game, it's yuri. You didn't specify anything about that, but if you don't like yuri then I guess nvm.) Seisai no Resonance has: Pros: - Partially voiced protagonist, (sadly she isn't voiced in the whole game, but in the common route, epilogues and H-scenes. The common route sets up the story, so it's at least somewhat helpful for people who want to refer to the voice acting as an aid to when reading.) - Gameplay (easy to understand even though it's all in Japanese. Boss fights and general enemy encounters in game end up as gameplay confrontations.) - Story driven game, with less focus on standard school setting romances. (The game IS set in a school, but is completely different in almost every way from normal school set moege.) Possible cons: - Sadly, the game is 10-30 hours, making it a little longer than you asked for. - It's primarily a fantasy game, I don't know whether you like those or not. - The Japanese in the game is mostly easy, but it has some pretty tough segments, such as characters with rather unique speech patterns, utilizing very strange words from time to time. The game also has a rather unique story, and use several made up words, linked to souls, spirit powers and such. Those can be a little confusing as well for less experienced readers.
  2. It's live and I'm broke now as a result! Yay! Worth it though.
  3. Live TLs are more common than you think. For people who speak Japanese, it's not much of a task reading the text out in English. It's a crude, fast and literal TL, not of high quality, but more than enough for the viewer to follow the story. Also, a text hooker doesn't mean machine TL. Most people simply use text hookers for furigana/ a way to parse the text for quicker reading.
  4. It's not strange that a random class full of teenagers and one confused teacher would react this way by seeing this image and the sudden introduction to hentai in your presentation. The truth is that a lot of people out there look at even just harmless stuff like anime with a judgmental look. I remember a day last year, when a friend of mine came to visit and my copy of K-on season 1 was lying on the table in plain view. (A comedy show about a band made up of high school girls, hardly pornographic.) Still, his reaction to this was instantaneous, and he commented and pointed towards the characters' skirts: "You watch this for the 'plot' I see." It's not easy making people like something, especially if it's something they aren't used to seeing at all. Jumping straight into a full on pornographic picture and then trying to make people understand why you think it's art is bound to cause a very mixed reaction, even if the people watching your presentation are somewhat used to Japanese animation. Personally I totally agree with the fact that certain types of hentai can be quite artsy, and I do like eroge because of its ability to incorporate H in the story. But, I would never try to explain this to someone by showing them a picture of an animated teenage girl having her virginity taken. You need to ease people into this kind of stuff. Kudos to the OP though, for having the balls to actually do that. I was a bit scared of giving my presentation on evil twist endings, which included a large amount of refrences and pictures from anime. That had absolutely nothing to do with anything pornographic, but I was still nervous, simply because I knew not everyone "gets" anime and actually just sees it as totally weird.
  5. I mean, a visual novel is like a book. I don't really care about watching other people read books; I'd like to read them myself. So I don't see the point of it at all. But, if people do like them, I don't see why they shouldn't be allowed to, just like any other let's play really.
  6. Do it for her:
  7. The thread "Post pics you like" lives off the posts made by a single user, Jun Inoue. If not for Jun, the thread would hardly have any posts, and Fuwa would be a cold and sad place without proper memes to fuel its users' daily requirement. Jun's ability to find funny pictures and gifs to share with Fuwanovel is treasured and loved by all, and the site has not seen a user with such an amazing post-like ratio since Fiddle. I made several attempts at getting an interview with Jun, to ask him why he is so motivated to bring Fuwanovel memes and hilarious gifs, but every time I checked his profile to see if he was free, I was met with the same situation time and time again. And, by scrolling down on his profile, you will see just how dedicated he is to his mission of never letting Fuwanovel go a single day without memes! Taking all of this into account, I think it would be unfair for the thread to keep its current name, and instead suggest we rename this thread to: "Pics Jun Inoue likes." I have made a poll on this thread, and ask that you all vote, so that we can make this change happen!
  8. She is very pretty so I'm a bit interested as well, but I'd prefer if talks about something that could potentially be quite spoilery to the story remains in spoiler tags at least guys.
  9. Some people on this forum already know me as a pretty big Cyclet fanboy. They make some pretty good dark games, which is right up my alley. Tokage no Shippo Kiri is by far my favorite Cyclet game to date, and in this blog entry I'll be talking a bit about why. I found out about this through some people on Discord, and after looking through some CGs from the game, I was rather confused when I was told this is a pure love story. That made very little sense to me, which just sparked my interest even more. After having read the game, I have to say I agree; this is definitely primarily a love story, though a rather tragic one at that. I will be mainly talking about the first few hours of the game in this blog post, then reflect on why I like the game and what it does right, so it's pretty much spoiler free. What you see here is just the introduction to the story that you see after a little bit of reading, so the major plot twists and such is not spoiled here, should you ever feel like reading the game. The title of the game plays a very central role in the story, and it does so almost immediately. Tokage no Shippo Kiri = (rough TL) Cutting the lizard's tail. The main character, Shuu, is an honor student. Among the smartest people in school, and certainly among the most diligent, Shuu seems like a rather normal guy who wouldn't hurt a fly. He doesn't come in late, he does all his homework and places among the top students on tests. However, this story is meant to show you that although people might seem totally normal on the outside, they could be just a single step from breaking on the inside. As Shuu ends up being late one day, he starts running to school in order to make it in time. On his way though, he ends up stepping on something. Upon looking down, he spots a lizard with its tail ripped off. However, the lizard doesn't cower in pain, scream or anything that a human would in a situation where their limbs are ripped off them. Instead, it completely calmly runs away, fleeing from danger, completely unfazed by the fact that a portion of its body is missing. As he sees this, Shuu breaks. Something inside him is stirred, and he wonders, "is it possible for humans to regenerate their limbs like a lizard?" Suddenly, very interested in how exactly lizards can do this, he starts researching anatomy, biology and such extensively. Every single day he goes to the library to read up on immortality, regeneration of limbs, and anything he can come across slightly related to learn how it works. Shuu concludes that the only way to figure this out though, is through practical experiments. Now, at this point this probably sounds like it will turn into a guro fest, but it's not quite how things goes. This is like I said before, primarily a love story, (although the game has a decent amount of guro, it's not quite the same as other guro games in that regard). Anyways, enter Kanau. Kanau is a girl who is totally in love with Shuu. She is so madly in love with him, it's a bit confusing really, as she hasn't actually talked much with him before at all. At first, you don't really get any explanation for this. She just loves him, and wants to be with him. She eventually approaches Shuu, and he politely agrees to letting her help him with his research. The two start reading books together in the library, although Kanau of course has no idea what kind of research this really is. Two other students eventually joins in on this as well, and the four of them come to library every day to research. Each one of them have their own motive for doing this, and the way the story keeps their reasoning hidden until the later segments is very well executed, even for the main character Shuu. Leaving the other two on the side, let's talk about Kanau and Shuu's romance. (The other two have rather minimal roles in the main route, but bigger parts in their own routes that are connected to the main route later on.) Shuu and Kanau start to get along well, and soon enough they both develop romantic feelings for one another. (Well, Kanau already had these, like I mentioned, but it becomes mutual at least.) The thing is though, as the reader you really don't know whether Shuu's feelings are genuine, or if he is just using Kanau for his potential experiments. As I was reading the game I was at the edge of my seat the entire time. Exactly what is it that Shuu wants, what is fueling him, and what is going to happen next? And likewise, Kanau's motives were totally mysterious to me as well. Sure, she loves him, but why? To be frank, you really don't get what is going on for a long time. Though, all of the answers will come in due time. Shuu talks Kanau into helping him with an experiment, though she is not the test subject; he wants to test this on himself. Shuu wants to know, "can humans grow back their limbs? Just how far can the human body be pushed when it comes to healing itself?" And so, he decides to have Kanau cut off his finger, and then observes the result. (Don't worry, not a bloody CG. I won't link any of those ) Needless to say, Kanau is not a big fan of this idea, but due to her extreme attatchement to Shuu, there is no way she is saying no. Big parts of the game is told from Kanau's point of view, and deals with her conflicted emotions. She hates the idea of Shuu being in pain, but hates the idea of Shuu rejecting her because she won't help him with his research even more. After this, things keep escalating and the characters are forced to face their own mortality, quite literally. The truth is that no matter how you try to spin it, human beings are very fragile creatures, both mentally and physically, and you can't defy the laws of nature. This is the main point the game tries to get across, at least that's how it seemed to me. Shuu and Kanau's romantic story is a rather messy one, and this game really brings out loads of different emotions in the reader. I think a big misconception with dark themed stories is that they must always go a bit over the top, so that we can separate them from reality. However, Tokage no Shippo Kiri doesn't do that at all. It's as realistic as you can get with a story like this, and that makes the impact it has on the reader even stronger. The game is very psychologically straining, as you are put into the shoes of these characters in rather gruesome situations. I felt like certain choices in the game were very hard to make, as I was honestly afraid of the result they would lead to. So far, this is the only guro game that has made me feel a connection to the characters in that way. I mean, most of the time, story and writing pulls you in, but the surreal and rather "silly" settings if you will, completely separates you from seeing the story as being anything close to reality. (Like Maggot Baits and Nikuniku. Both games are fantastic, but you don't feel like what you are reading is reality, which makes it easier to stomach the dark and gruesome situations.) Of course, it's not like Tokage no Shippo Kiri makes you think it's based on a true story or anything, and 1 route in specific is rather... dumb to be completely honest. It feels like that route was just put there to please guro fans, and it serves little importance to the plot, but still retains some value so that you can't quite skip it either. That was honestly one of the reasons why this game didn't get a higher rating from me. Without that route, I'd be more inclined to go closer to the 10/10 than my current 8.4 rating of it. I like guro in nukige settings too, but I don't like having it crammed into a game that quite honestly felt like a very serious story. The guro in the other 2 routes is used in a way that makes sense to the plot, because of the mentality of the characters and such. Although the same point can be made for the route in question, I think it was purposely just stuffed in there to make the game appeal more to the guro crowd to draw them in. I won't mention which route this is, and I'll let you find that on your own if you are going to read the game. This does bring me to the second part of the game I did not like too much, and that was the sheer amount of H-scenes. I never thought I'd be saying that about a game like this, but it's true. The game does put some H-scenes in situations where they honestly don't really need to be. Sometimes the scenes make perfect sense, as many situations in the game stirs up a mix of different emotions in the characters and that makes the scenes feel fitting. But at other times, they just really don't need to be there at all. This game isn't a full on nukige, though it's quite similar in certain traits, and Cyclet might have been trying to flip it a bit more in that direction than I want to admit. Still, the game's story is very good, and the amount of H-scenes hardly changes that fact. A few last words about the game. It's told in three routes, though Kanau's route is the true one, and the other two take place assuming you have already read Kanau's route, (so if you are going to read this, read Kanau's route first.) All three of them tie into each other, and only by reading all three will you truly understand everything. If you only read one, you will be lacking key information to piece the entire puzzle together. There is one route which has less of a purpose than the other two, like I said, but you should still read all three if you want all the answers to the questions that might be swirling around in your head when you read this. Tokage no Shippo Kiri is a very good psychological game, about a romance between people on the verge of breaking, and them facing the harsh truth of their own mortality. It's definitely not a game everyone will enjoy, but for the people who like darker games with a more bitter taste to them, this is a very good choice. If you can't stomach gore and such, it's not really advised to touch this game.
  10. I do have a wishlist that goes on for pages and pages, but there is a few special games in there that I showed some serious interest in, but never actually played yet: Miagete Goran, Yozora no Hoshi o. I bought the special edition of this game last year, on release, because of my love for their previous games like Kono oozora and the fandisk but still haven't played it. At the time I wasn't sure if my JP was good enough to read such a long title in JP, and since then I just haven't gotten around to it. I really do want to play this soon though, as it's just sitting on my shelf atm. (The special edition box looks awesome though, so I do like just looking at it too ) Hatsuyuki Sakura Another VN I have, but still haven't actually started yet. Heard many great things about it, (including spoilers x_X), but I can't handle playing too many nakige/ utsuge in a row, so I have to start this when my feels can handle it. I also had the same issue with this that I had with Miagete Goran, as it's a pretty long game, and I wasn't sure if I could get through it all in the past. Nowadays it's just a combination of me being busy IRL and a little lazyness that stops me from reading these. Sakura no Uta I have had people recommend me this left and right, so it's been building up in my mind as something I have to read in my mind. Also read a couple of reviews that seemed to praise it quite a lot, so I have been meaning to read this, but still haven't gotten around to it yet. Soon though! I would add in ChusinGura here, but that's a game I'm actually reading now, and it's great. When I started university and began studying Japanese history on the side of my Japanese language studies, I decided that I would read ChuSinGura once I felt I knew enough about the time period. I did stall it for a little while, but now I'm actually reading it in the source language, and it's great.
  11. I'm still taking credit for helping him though, even if the solution was in the guide all along! にょほほー!
  12. Yeah. Although I cannot fathom why, it seems a very large amount of people care a LOT about that, so hopefully this means more backers. I'll stomach some possible bad penis art for the chance of a more successful campaign. (Like, half the questions on their prefundia in the first few days was just about decensoring, lol.) An option to turn them on/off would be nice though, and should please everyone. (Decided to ask if this would be possible on the prefundia.)
  13. #FreeTheNipple!
  14. Ah yes, that's what I thought after reading your post again. I did edit my post, but was probably too late Try this and see if it helps. It is linked to chiitrans not hooking all the text. If there is a better string, you can hook that with ITHVNR/ITH most of the time. Alternatively, an H-code might be available, and that will make it hook better as well.
  15. This does tend to happen when parsers run into katakana. It doesn't always know the best way to parse them, mistake words for others and so on. It isn't always used to seeing normal words spelled out purposely with kana, and therefore often mistakes them for something else. What you can attempt to do, is highlight the word, then hit space. If chiitrans recognizes what you have highlighted, it will reparse with that selection. Sometimes it simply won't though. For these instances, you could alternatively copy the entire phrase and put it into google, and see if you can find some webpages with information on the word. I don't know if there is any other solution to this, as it's not so much the parser's fault as it is simply the phrases being too hard to parse right without a person thinking about its usage and such. EDIT: If you mean the text literally only displays a single instance of the kana instead of several, this is linked to the string and not the parser. Chiitrans has a rather bad hooker, so in these instances you should use a different program to hook. You could attempt hooking the game with ITHVNR and see if that helps. (Set the option for "auto copy clipboard" in Chiitrans, and you can still use chiitrans to read while ITHVNR hooks.) This happens in a few games, and it's quite annoying.
  16. People seem to be listing the VNs they have played this year. I tend to play short nukige just a tad bit too much, so my list seem absolutely huge on VNDB, though the amount of 2 hour fap games in there is pretty crazy, so I'll instead ditch those and list the bigger games/ not nukige games. (I'll also try to somewhat list them in order of completion, though my VNDB is a bit all over the place so it's not 100% correct. Lastly, I won't be listing games I played only some of and ditched, but will be listing games I have a larger amount of hours in, like Tokyo Babel where I've played about 60% at least.)

PS: my votes are terrible, my taste sucks, pls no bully

I proofread OTL while in class, so compared to how slow time usually passes in a classroom, it just flew by. Maybe that's why :makina:

Hmm, if I remember correctly I did Eika and little miss maid, but never finished Ryou's route. Also did not start miss stronk and ditsy's route.

I probably should go back and finish those.

      Mr Poltroon

I never went to university so, quite honestly, the concept of doing anything 'in class' except attempting to pay attention is entirely foreign to me.

Miss stronk and ditsy's probably the best one., actually. Generally regarded as best with, you know, a girl who doesn't abuse you for no reason and some, depending on your standards, surprisingly nice plot.

Ryou's... I just liked the girl, maybe that was it. That and the fact that it actually had some story going.
Eika and the maid didn't really have anything other than their personal romance with the protagonist, although I loved the way the latter was presented and I guess the former was pretty hot, assuming that's what you're looking for.

Hmm, nice. Will have to do those later then. If I'm going back to do one, I'll just do both of the remaining ones. Will have to wait until after my long ass ChuSinGura marathon though.

  17. The leaderboard is really cool! EDIT: All of these seem to work now, like Decay said. A few things I have noticed: One issue I have found with the leaderboard so far is, when you go to "top members" and try to select a category, it still won't show anything but "most reputation", even if you change it to something else. Also, after the update I can no longer auto embed pictures. They just give an error message and remain as links: I can also not like posts atm. It seems to just freeze and when I reload the page, the like isn't there. Lastly, I'm #2 and not #1 on the leaderboards, and that is clearly a bug as well, thank you EDIT 2: (This is still clearly a big issue though ) EDIT 3: Huh, actually, if you set it to "year", I am #1: Line up if you want autographs everyone
  18. Not to be that guy, but hopefully they have some nice redrawing skills... what's usually under there in older eroge is quite horrible to look at, lol. That's the reason I prefer mosiacs, as the artists often don't draw the genitals well, as the mosiacs are being added after all. Guess we'll have to wait and see.
  19. Better make a more child friendly version of this game where the visibility is reduced back down to 15%. This is just too much!
  20. Have you played Maitetsu? The game isn't actually a nukige, but it instead has a very large amount of non canon, fully animated H-scenes on the side that practically works as a nukige tbh. (Very loli heavy, though it has some non loli characters as well.) Although reading the game obviously makes the H-scenes better, you can do like me and honestly just treat the separate H-scenes as a separate nukige tbh. Even without context, it's pretty hot stuff. (And the art + animations are really nice.)
  21. Mmm, both false and true. I mean, the smell isn't that nice, but I miss my dog atm, since I moved out so... Guess mostly true atm. The next person can play 3 instruments.
  22. I have no idea what you are talking about Asonn Well, there sadly isn't many translated games like these, so if you can't read Japanese, I don't have a very long list. Untranslated games that are pretty great though: Nikuniku (Lots of guro, but the game also has a pretty nice story.) Tokage no Shippo Kiri (A strange, but fantastic game if you like dark themed stuff. A really good and mind bending psychological game.) Maggot Baits (Crazy as hell. Good story, lots of gore. A little longer than the previous ones, and also harder to read, but probably one of the better games in this genre.) Ryakudatsusha no Inen (Playing it right now, so I'm not 100% done yet, but so far it hasn't been as dark as the previous games. Still, it has plenty of gore, and some fantastic art.) Guro Dere (Absolutely absurd game, but it's hilarious. Humoristic guro, doesn't get much better than that, lol.) Rettou Kan (Straight up guro nukige. If you just want dark H content, this is literally the best thing ever. If you need a story connected to it, and not just brutal H content, stay the hell away from this.) Sukui no Serenade (From the makers of Nikuniku. It's a seriously twisted game, though I haven't played it all yet, so I can't say too much about it atm. It seems great though.) Dasaku and a few other games from Cyclet also have lots of gore, though I haven't played those yet, so I can't comment on whether they are good or not at the moment. If you want purely translated games, the people above already mentioned some. You also have Euphoria, which has some gore, though it's rather minimal compared to the stuff I have mentioned so far. There is also Dustmania, though that is simply a short guro nukige. No real merrit beyond gory H scenes.
  23. ChuSinGura 46+1 She is sadly not a heroine though. Just a supportive character. (A great one at that!)
