  1. Obviously Maggot Baits, even though it most likely won't be released this year. On the other hand, there's BokuTen that I also have high hopes for. And as a 3rd title, Schatten looks like something I would like (though, only God knows when JAST will finally release it).
  2. No KKK on the list... probably because it would be a Tier 5 level, which is out of the scope you tried to cover here ...
  3. Nice, I already saw you posted it on Steam. If I had some spare money to fork out for this, I'd have bought one as well, easily ...
  4. Did JAST ever fix that problem with untranslated lines in the fandisc?
  5. Not a single Black Cyc VN on the list? I disapprove of this list! And where's my Bible Black here? The absolute meme darkge nukige :)
  6. Ah, I see now. Okay then ... That makes sense. Thank you very much for all your help
  7. Ah, thanks for that info. That means I didn't have to edit the first line at all earlier, just the second one. The thing you mentioned earlier about line counts, if I, for example, have additional lines from the ENG release that I'd need to put into the JP script... does it work from the get-go by just adding the lines in this format like they are in the .txt files or would there need to be additional work done on BIN files? I remember you mentioned I'd need to pay attention to it, and I found out there are different line counts in scripts. Will there be a problem of some kind if I only simply add lines like that in JP script?
  8. Now that helps with showing the names in the .txt files Compiled it and tried to grab the text file with the new ahdprc. On ENG script I get to see the names correctly: JP script is fine as well: Thank you Also, changed the CP value from 936 to 932 in 2 places (from what I have seen, it pops out in 3 places, but in 1 of those 3 places it's already set as 932). Thank you for all of this great help ^^ ... By the way, is there a specific reason why there are duplicate lines like this?
  9. Actually, I don't yet have a translator. I didn't look for one yet because I didn't even know whether I will be able to touch the scripts at all. I started fiddling with this only a couple of days ago when I discovered that I liked the prologue of the VN and now I want to get an uncensored release of it. I also want to fix a little bit Moenovel's TL and that's why I am doing all of this. So far, thanks to some help I got here and elsewhere, I managed to deal with the scripts and I have confirmed that porting them from ENG to JP release is indeed possible. What I am yet to figure out are things relating to character names displaying and how to port the translated parts of menus from ENG release to the JP one. And yes, this is from the new Moenovel VN, Miagete Goran.
  10. THANKS @binaryfail!!!! Due to your very good explanation I managed to make a breakthrough: Though, that last step gave me a log error on some line: But hey, considering I managed to insert the text at all and not crash the game in the first place is really an achievement for me! What I noticed in your explanation was that you said: I didn't do the encryption part the last time (I only used ant renamer to remove that additional "_E" from the English script files so they match the JP variant of scripts naming). When you said that, I decided to check the English scripts and I found out that unlike the JP ones, they are decrypted from the beginning (no need to shift by 2 bits to make them read correctly). So I figured out by @marcus-beta that this operation is looped so I did a "shift by 6" in ahdprc so I can revert the script back into the encrypted form, the same way I did with this random text insert here. But, unlike with the success I made here, just encrypting Moenovel's ENG scripts isn't enough, it seems. I get a different type of crash then the last time though, so it did have an effect at the end. Earlier, when I didn't encrypt Moenoevel's scripts, the game crashed immediately when I tried to launch a new game (reported some kind of an error on "Rio.arc"). But when I tried with the encryption on that first file "yozora_com_ooo.ws2", the new game launched, but instead crashed at the first line of text and the reported error came in the form of "yozora_com_ooo, stack underflow error" (a Japanese message saying something like that). So I am guessing Moenovel's ENG are slightly different in the format from the JP ones, or something like that. But, I might be able to bypass this problem if I manually insert the text from ENG release into each JP script and then do the process you thought me here, even though it will be tedious work ... Is there a way to edit these JP untranslated names somehow? I don't see the "name of the character speaking" in the .txt files I got from ahdprc. I am guessing that's edited somewhere else? I am planning on using Method 1 you explained. Also, thank you for the heads up on this one: I didn't know this. But I guessed they edited some lines in this way because JP text sometimes needs less lines than the English equivalent does and so to translate it, they made a line split into two. So yeah, I'd have to pay attention to line counts. Again, thank you very much for all of this help, your explanation on BIN was very helpful, I didn't understand the syntax earlier on what I was supposed to do when I reached that step with ws2 files ^^...
  11. Okay, with this I finally managed to compile ahdprc with MinGW 4.7.1 (albeit I had to change that 5th line into a format without the asterix and just name everything with "obj\something.o" instead, for some reason didn't work with "obj\*.o" and I was getting invalid argument error that way). Thanks for that ... Now, I tried to do the same thing @Huang Ling Yin did in Miagete Goran and I can't figure out how he used ahdprc to actually edit the text. I extracted the scripts correctly (many tools already can do that, aside from ahdprc, they all use that tool made by asmodean I think) and then did that command to shift by 2 bits to deal with encryption on ws2 files. And then I get stuck on how to actually edit these files, the variant of command where it's supposed to select all ws2 files and make text files out of them doesn't work so I have to manually do each file instead. And what am I supposed to do with the BIN files, I couldn't figure out how to actually use it at the end. I am fiddling with this because I thought maybe I could somehow turn the JP version of Miagete into the English one but with untranslated H-scenes. I extracted succesfully both script files from "Rio.arc" on the original JP version and "Rio.arc" from the Moenovel English translation. I noticed that the scripts where the H-scenes are that they are all marked with "H" at the end. So I replaced the yozora_com_ooo.ws2 and onwards with the same script files from the ENG release and left the untranslated _H ones there and then rebuilt them all together into new "Rio.arc" using ahdprc... but alas, the game crashes when I try to start new game so I am guessing the scripts are incompatible or something. Is there a way to somehow port the ENG translation for the translated parts of ENG release into the JP one? Thank you for any kind of input you can give me.
  12. A potential kamige in the making, I say... Or maybe not, who knows?
  13. So far from what I've played of it, it's pretty good... as a rapist protagonist nukige. One of the better nukiges in this category methinks. Though, I wish it had more real plot but alas, I know I'm asking for too much. That being said, quof did a good job with translation, so I have nothing to really complain about. To each their own I guess. Though to be honest, I believe that comments like "Why could they not have translated something else" are in bad taste. Obviously, they wanted to translate this (for free) and not something else. Maybe they didn't want to fan-translate another mindless moege (that we already got a plenty of so far) and instead wanted something more hardcore. Why would anybody specifically want to translate any VN that you want to see? That's not how fan-translation scene works. Translators work on titles they are interested in and those titles aren't always popular with the whole VN community. There are VNs for everybody.
  14. Hmmm ... I didn't use it myself yet so I cannot say anything about those matters regarding hash sums and filenames. You should try contacting the hacker who made those tools (the author should be somewhere on that github's page). So far, those seem to be the only tools available for whale engine-based VNs.
  15. https://github.com/vn-tools/whale-tools Did you try this?
  16. Quite obviously: What I said about not caring didn't necessarily mean I implied that you didn't care as well xD ...
  17. I agree with Beichuuka here. Why should we care about this?
  18. Ah, indeed, you do have a point there, I didn't think about it at that time in that way. Welp, in that case, it seems JAST is finally becoming more serious. Or at least more serious than they were before (even if only just a slightly bit xD). Since they redesigned their website, they seemed to be sort of more active. I think that's a good sign, looks promising, I hope they keep it up like this, maybe they finally become really active.
  19. Speaking of JAST ... My vague memory from earlier this year tells me they promised Flowers Summer (forgot the full name of Flowers sequel) by the end of this year or something like that, right? What happened with that? xD
  20. So ... everybody's talking about Eiyuu Senki "fan-translation" ... But ... If I remember correctly, wasn't the fan-TL actually the official TL by Fruitbat Factory for the console editions (PS3 I think it was) of Eiyuu Senki? The team just pulled out the translation from there and inserted it into the PC edition. And then surferdude from Hongfire added in the translation for H-scenes (and some other content as well). So technically, it's a 90% official TL already, not really a fan-TL? xD Just like with Steins;Gate 0, I am bothered to hear it called "fan-TL" when in fact it was just translation taken from consoles and ported to PC instead.
  21. So... we should assume that many of these eroge companies who for this or the other reason don't "adapt" will go out of bussiness sooner or later? That doesn't sound very promising, I wouldn't like to see so many eroge companies die... I hope that survival you speak of won't be dependent too much on their decision whether to go west or stay east. Though I definitively understand the problem, after all we did hear about a fair number of eroge companies going out of bussiness in the last couple of months/years (The most recent I know of was Chuable Soft but there's many more as well).
  22. Unvoiced overrated EVN ... Read it like for two or perhaps three hours and then just started skipping till the end ... The twist might be interesting to some people, and yeah, maybe you could say it's a unique VN. Yeah, it's better than your daily Sakura -insert random noun here- but at the end I could only say it's just a decent EVN. There was some effort invested into it but the poor side effects, unvoiced, mediocre art, uninspiring BGM, all of it makes the final twist not so impactful as I'd want it to be. I heard that there's a JP VN with the same twist and that's the one I'd like to read more than this "EVN kamige".
  23. Avoid this anime like the plague that it is and instead read the VN.
