  1. That's what I thought too when I started watching Slayers not too long ago. I do feel that older anime in general are lacking as far as direction and impact goes (not always), but they at least had more distinctive designs. Lina Inverse is so well drawn. ^^ You definitely don't get the same charm from new series that you do from older ones, but I don't mind that at all. I still tend to like newer anime more than oldies, but I'll still go back and watch something from the 90's for the nostalgia (I grew up with these, lol). I tried watching a 70's anime once. Yeah, I can't even. Even to me, the animation's just way too outdated! 90's anime may not come anywhere close to today's animation standards, but at least it's still reasonable. Though there are people that can't even watch an anime from more than one gen back. D:
  2. Man, you're right. I gotta stop goofing around and play like I mean it. I can want to be a top player as much as I want to, but I'll never get there with half-hearted ambition. Okay, taking it up a notch.
  3. I started reading Wa! after you posted that, and I'm enjoying this a lot more than I thought I would. Some of the jokes are actually pretty funny, lol. I don't laugh at all of them, but the light-hearted atmosphere is at least enough to keep me entertained. I like how this manga balances itself out with jokes that come out of nowhere and jokes that have a setup to it, good call on the mangaka's part. This reaction to eroge is just gold.
  4. Reading Omamori Himari right now. For this being a ecchi series, that healing ritual from Shizuku was pretty bold. It's always an interesting experience reading a mainstream work from a hentai artist (like Karin). ^^
  5. Lmao, Onanimas. What's that from? Edit: This manga's so much fun. (Omamori Himari)
  6. Still a nice combo. That map gives me a hard time too, but I haven't played it at all recently. Edit: Well, I beat your HDHRNF score, but I couldn't beat your nomod score. I almost did once, but I failed. ;_; Also, I just started doing AR8 DT. Kinda challenging, but I'm getting the hang of it. New top performance today. ^^ It was kinda hard to keep combo on it, but surprisingly easy to acc.
  7. The design has a nice feel to it. I really, really like having this for my desktop. ^^
  8. They're undoubtedly the best pairing in the series, but after reading a recent arc in Railgun (not sure if current or previous), I've been keen on the idea of Touma x Saten. :3 They do look like they'd make a very nice couple.
  9. And I finally decided to stop being lazy and got access to EXH again. Had to wait a damn week because of all the new stuff going on with it, but it's good to finally be back in heaven. <3
  10. I remember picking up Xenosaga roughly 10 years ago and never getting around to finishing it. Think I'll go ahead and give it another go. From what I can remember of it, it was pretty interesting.
  11. Yeah, I remember reading one guide that mentioned doing that for streams. I kinda care about my arms, so I decided to pass on that. On one hand, keyclicking is probably the most relaxed you can be with streaming, but also more difficult to get good at. I can't manage to get anything higher than a C on even a 140 BPM stream practice map, so I guess I'm long overdue for improvement in that area.
  12. It is. I tried one of those practice stream maps with 185 BPM, but could only get 81% on it. Still a working progress, I'll make keyclick work for me one day. At the very least, it's made short streams feel a lot easier. This map was pretty challenging to read, but so much fun to play. I could seriously get addicted to it. @_@
  13. I would return her vacant stare with one from myself and create a very serene atmosphere that would eventually put us both to sleep.
  14. Found this song through Osu. Has a cute charm to it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZfFv1fE60rQ&feature=youtu.be&t=25s
  15. I'm actually a little interested in Suika now as well. I guess I made the mistake of letting the ratings set my expectations for the game and never really bothered to read that many statements about it. But if it's anything complex, it's possible for a lot of people to miss out on what makes it good and give it a lower rating.
  16. I know. I've been so occupied with an MMO, but I'm going on another 2-year hiatus with it now. Time to get back to some good old anime and eroge. <3 J.C. Staff's art is definitely preferable to Manglobe's, but I wouldn't say I disliked them either. There were a few scenes with Hinagiku (not too hard to guess) that damn near killed me in Manglobes rendition of the series though. No, one absolutely can't. She is just too precious. <3 Also, I met an angel while watching Dog Days yesterday. Millhiore is pure, sweet, and wholeheartedly loving. I would marry this girl. <3
  17. I did like the 1st season of OreImo for the comedy, but Kuroneko kept me from not liking the rest. I wasn't as bothered by the end as most other were, although it was still my least favorite part of the series. But yeah, as far as harems go, there are better. Try Shuffle.
  18. The ending was packed with more corny cliches than I could have ever asked for, but I still loved the heck out of Dog Days. I came in expecting something along the lines of action-packed thrill fights and half-naked girls. Well, I wound up with all that and then some. The romance was cute on a number of occasions and it had some touching happy moments to boot. The anime does not shine at all with the execution of its melodrama, but I do appreciate the fact that they use it to reinforce the happy scenes later on. I can also appreciate how all the events that took place in Dog Days happened for a good reason and not due to some dumb circumstance. But if I had to make out any kind of flaw with the series, it's that the other females were mostly overshadowed by the main heroine in terms of significance. Knowing these kinds of anime, I wouldn't be surprised if they put more focus into the others in later seasons, but that could also be a bad thing since I am completely infatuated with Millhiore. I cried a few times too. I love how they have Horie Yui singing for the ED and a couple insert songs too. ^^ While it may not be anything amazing, it really felt like the producers pulled all the stops to make Dog Days incredibly enjoyable. For that, and for Millhiore pulling at my heartstrings most of the time, I'll give this anime a 7/10. Absolutely wonderful. Lets hope this continues in S2.
  19. I figured it was about time I came off my anime hiatus right about now and started getting back into things with Dog Days. Thought I'd start with something a little light and this is turning out as well as I hoped it would be. Always had a soft spot for vibrantly colored anime, so the designs are pretty much spot on for me. The heroines don't break away from the usual tropes you see in anime, but I'm not the type to dislike that kind of thing. Millhiore is an angel and I absolutely love her. <3 The battles are really enjoyable too.
  20. Internet's fixed. I'm also getting bored of a certain game that's been occupying a lot of my time, so I'll be on the forums a little more often now. :)

  21. Re-write history again, beat all my AR8 scores!
