No, you didn't hear wrong, they pretty much said they'd announce something if you took what they said at face value. But I was always skeptical because you can never take what they say at face value. What they said is that they had announcements at AX and Comic Con, what they meant to say was that they'd be at those shows and would also have announcements. They've already made those announcements at AX. They haven't said anything about Otakon yet. Don't worry, figuring out what JAST's apocalyptically bad PR actually intends to say is an acquired skillset.

Hello World is much more renowned and the art style is cute and still holds up imo. But I don't know why JAST passed it over. It's very long so maybe they thought it wasn't worth the effort.

"getting lobbied pretty hard by eroge producers" is something that will never happen to Kickstarter. Combine all of the VN campaigns together and it's a miniscule drop in the bucket of Kickstarter's overall profit. They are super small time, why would Kickstarter care?

There's unlockable routes in it so you have to follow that to an extent. I suggest starting with Kotori as it serves as the best introduction to the setting and it's not bad. Lucia's route is better and you can start with that if you really want. Shizuru and Chihaya routes are the weak links so stuff those in the middle somewhere and close out the heroine routes with Akane. Then there are the final true routes.

Different company, but also don't forget Fruitbat Factory, previously doing only PC stuff, suddenly picked up Eiyuu Senki last year for a console-only release, so stranger things have happened.

Sekai Project is releasing Vita versions of the Grisaia series. Also the Xtend Edition which is the one they've announced is not for PC. I thought it was likely it would be a PC release but I wasn't fully sure.

A lot of uncensored art looks awful because they figured no one would ever see it. Like we discussed previously, they don't actually redraw it so it just stays awful when the mosaics are removed. MangaGamer's Softhouse Seal releases are a big offender of this. Leaving it censored can leave more to the imagination, making it more erotic. This mostly just applies to when it's done shittily, though. As an aside, Sekai Project just confirmed that Root Double will be a PC release. I wonder why they had to wait on that? Seems odd.
