This so much. The Valkyria Chronicles port well surpassed Sega's expectations, and a ton of JRPG devs/ localizers are jumping on the Steam bandwagon. While it won't get a Day 1 PC release, I would not be at all shocked to see it hit PC within a year or so.

As long as the games make money, they'll keep pumping out the same sort of things. It is refreshing, however, to see them explore a new genre of game. I'm hoping to get my hands on the game soon to see how their formula translates to HRPG. Because after Sakura Santa, it really can't get much worse.

A VN should take as long as it needs to tell its story. There should not be some time limit set. "Oh hey guys, we're about to go into the 30 hour range, lets wrap this up." On the flip side, VNs should be less like Clannad or LB! where shit gets dragged out and out and out for no reason as I find that acts as a detriment the story.
