Meganekko The Meganekko is the girl who wears glasses. There is something about an anime character wearing glasses which gives them an odd vulnerability that people find endearing. I recently finished reading a visual novel called Sakuya. It's in Japanese, but it isn't too difficult if you use text hooker and know some grammar. I just wanted to share it in case anyone else was interested in trying a short romance VN. I personally thought it was really cute and sweet When I read it, it felt really easy-going slice of life kind of VN. The setting takes place in a world that has advanced to the point they have human-looking robots working/living along with humans. The main character Akane, lives her daily life with Sakuya whom she considers family.. but in actuality, he's a robot. The special thing about him though is that he looks/acts almost human, and such compared the other normal robots. You could download the game for free at their site here. The free version contains no Hentai content, and the paid version includes it. It seems they also have other free VNs on their site too.

This probably doesn't count as a VN, but I believe the first game I ever played that had something similar to a Dating Sim in it was a PS1 game called Thousand Arms.. I enjoyed that aspect of the game, so I tried for looking for similar dating games I think.. and probably got into VNs eventually. So that was my first gateway to realizing they had games like that ;p RPG game Thousand Arms (Date with Sodina)

I chose "When I read all routes that I am interesed in." I tend to try and get True Ending if I'm really interested in the game.. otherwise, I'd just play routes I want and consider it complete.

Has anyone ever used any kind of Japanese listening recordings? Any free recommendations I can download and record to a CD to listen? I drive really far to work everyday.. so it's been getting a bit annoying listening to the same songs over and over (and I've already memorized some because of it). That's why I'm thinking it might be useful if I just put on some Japanese conversation recordings, and just listen to it everyday on my way to work and home. I guess learning Japanese songs might be good.. but I feel like they don't really tie into normal conversations as much so would like to try something different. I believe my level is Intermediate right now, so anything that's not too easy or not too hard would be nice. It can be conversations based on grammar learning or the ones that repeat common Vocabulary would be cool. I've based my Japanese learning more on Reading/Recognition, so my speaking/listening aren't as good.. so was thinking this might be a good way to learn. I'll try to look myself too, but if anyone has any suggestions or anything helpful they've tried, please share

All students must PM the headmaster certain information in order to enroll as a student: Student’s hair and eye color 2 specific habits (1 hobby and 1 special skill) 2 identifying features (scar, birthmark, cloth item that’s never removed, etc.) 1 secret the student could possibly be exploited with (desire for fame, crippling debt, something they’ll protect at all costs, etc.) The class they would like to join All students will choose from one of three classes (once a class is full, students must register for the other class). Class A: Will receive twice as much evidence than other students but receive half the number of hints from the headmaster per trial. Class B: Will receive double the number of coins when completing a trial but will receive half as much evidence when a murder occurs. Class C: Will double the number of hints per trial but will receive half the number of coins at the end of the trial. The headmaster will give an announcement to begin each section. After the announcement, students will have 48 hours to PM the headmaster if they wish to become a blackened and commit a murder. If multiple PMs are received, one will be chosen at random. Students will be notified at some point after a murder is committed and some relevant information along with an autopsy will be provided. An investigation period will begin and last for 24 hours. During the investigation, students will receive clues via PM. The types and number of clues you receive will depend on your class and your role in the case at hand. Some pieces of evidence may be shared between students. Students are forbidden from sharing information outside of their class before the investigation period is over and anyone who does so will receive punishment. Students will be given a certain number of hints per trial, depending upon their class. These hints can be used to gain one of the pieces of information listed above the above on a random student. After the investigation period, a class trial will begin. Class trials will last either 48 or 72 hours depending on the headmaster’s feelings on the current case. During that time, students can post, present any evidence they received and discuss the murder as they see fit. A poll will be available and students can vote for who they think the killer is. This vote can be changed anytime until the end of the trial. Students who don’t vote will receive punishment. You’re votes will determine the results. If you can figure out “whodunit” then only the blackened will receive punishment. But if you pick the wrong one, I'll punish everyone besides the blackened, and the one who deceived everyone else will graduate. Upon completion of the trial: All surviving students will receive a number of Monokuma Coins, which varies by class. At the start of the game, all student will have 2 coins to use as they see fit. The coins can be used for: Pick a specific person to use a hint for-2 coins Gain an extra piece of evidence during a trial -2 Randomly destroy a piece of evidence for a specific crime-2 coins More prizes may be added at a later date. I'm thinking of getting Akiba's Trip. Has anyone played that yet? It looks kinda funny & interesting, an Otaku game. The reason I want to get it the most though is that when I read the reviews, they said anime/vn lovers would enjoy the game since it had a lot of references to it. Also it's almost like a virtual tour of Akihabara since that's where the game takes place and they tried to replicate it from the real world. Sounds like fun xD and also read that it has a lot of fan service, lol.

It'd be cool if it got so advanced to become like Chobits in the future ! lol..

Oh this made me think of the anime .. so I'll answer that in relation to the anime Intelligent aliens would not be considered human if they had not evolved from us, or have the same ancestor at some point. Artificial Intelligence would not be considered human for the same reasons.. they were created by us, they are 'things' that aren't living. So in that sense, what's considered 'human' can be from a biological viewpoint related to DNA and evolution. And just to add ;p Clones of humans would be human. And if you think of it in a philosophical way, anything that could or can imitate/looks human could be 'human' I guess. so yeah.. it's more simple to just go with biology.

Nope, I don't particularly follow any religion seriously even though I grew up with one. I take what I like from different teachings and ignore the rest. I do not think one religion is better than another, they are all the same to me. I believe being a 'good person' is not related to whether you believe in a religion or not. That's all I'll say, since I know religion can be a hot topic.

My favorite color is Green. I personally like it because it gives me a sense of peace, and calm.. Blue is my second favorite, but I've always liked green because it is also connected to nature and life. "This is the color of balance and harmony. I liked them both, but I'll have to go with the first one.. I'm not sure who it is, but the background just looks beautiful with the girl in it and I like how the words pop out.

I played Euphoria in japanese a bit.. was a bit too dark for my tastes, especially when I was trying to translate it myself xD. I might get it if it releases in english though. At least that way, I can read it quickly instead of having to sit slowly through the crazy parts. The House in Fata Morgana looks kinda interesting... not sure I'm really into the 'goth' setting/art-style though... but looks like it has high reviews.. hm. (ooh looks like there's a demo for it, gonna try it~)

Just got one made from the great Mr. Moegii a dark theme! I like how the moon/flowers look like they're bathed in blood.. it looks kinda hauntingly nice ;o

Yes, I liked the last episode too. There were some weird parts and it could get a bit dragged out at times, but when I got through it and judged it as a whole... it's just amazing how it all fits like a puzzle. Such a treat. My favorite quotes from the last episodes were And

I just finished From The New World... once I hit episode 8, I couldn't stop watching until the end. I must say, that was an absolutely amazing anime. Everything just came together very well, with a very deep/complex story if you really reflect on it. I'm so glad I gave it another try! My favorite episodes were 8 & 16

I just thought this might be an interesting game to see what people come up with so let's try it First: Each member will post a picture of a character (can be from any anime/video game. Just let us know where it's from. I guess you could even create your own character.) Then pretend they've become your miniature angel doll. Second: You'll make up any Phrase you want for their entry onto the Angelic Layer battle stage. You must include the character's name in the phrase somewhere. Third: Name their special technique/skill or ability for the battle. Fourth: Regarding the two posters above you, you can decide/infer who will win the battle based on the skill/ability shown. That means the third poster, will use my character post vs. the post below me.. 4th poster will use 2nd vs 3rd post, etc. (This part is optional) The battle can be won by knocking the opponent off the battle stage or when the opponent can no longer fight/out of life. Example From the Anime: Hikaru (Angelic Layer) "Angel Wings! Please guide me and Hikaru!" Skill: High Speed/Dodge If you're unfamiliar with the Angelic Layer anime, it's about a game where people create their own dolls, and once they are inserted into the Angelic Layer (battle stage) game, they can be controlled and moved through the person's thought process from the headgear. When the person throws their doll into the stage, they have their own phrases they yell out for their angel. (If that doesn't make sense ^^; can just think of it as having a character as a Pokemon, lol. You need a phrase to release them out of the pokeball to fight.)
