  6. There are so many of these...so many... Some of my random favorites are: Saki (ToLoveRu) Kaho (Mayoi-Neko Overrun) Yuri-pyon (Chokotto Sister) Kunugi (Binchoutan) Reika (Go-shuushou-sama Ninomiya-kun)
  7. I like "mogumogu" (home of Maru the cat, ex. "Many Too Small Boxes and Maru") I like some of AVGN. My favorite one was maybe the Atari 5200 review (that system is of course an easy target...and he really lets fly) I'm almost AVGN myself... minus the anger, and the fact that I don't make Youtube videos
  8. It was just kind of a silly way of saying, I cannot appreciate avant-garde style in anime, just as I fail to enjoy abstract modern art. So, it's nice to see that in 2013 a great-looking movie was made using what I think of as the traditional animation style.
  9. Watched Hayao Miyazaki's "Kaze Tachinu" about the guy who invented the Zero. Looks fabulous on Blu-Ray. Buuut, it would be wasted on you Imaishi lovers. There's a kid next door to me who makes flip-books with crayola crayons that'd be better for you--he's got a really "original" style. After all, all art is equally good.
  10. I'm afraid not. All of them are perversions. Or none of them are. Your choice. I'm going to edit this so I don't have to come back into this thread anymore. You may or may not be aware of it, but sexual morality is based on the principle that sex should be used to procreate the human race (ideally in wedlock). The pleasure involved is just a side effect. Hence the traditional rules against sexual activity which is not going to result in procreation. I am well aware that many in modern society reject this notion of sexual morality. If you do, nothing I type here matters. That's why I prefaced my original comment with "if you care about morality..."
  11. People are constantly conflating ordinary human lust with sexual perversion, so for those of you who care about morality, here it is: A guy desiring naked girls or sex acts, real or.in pictures, that's called "lust." Perversion is something more profound. I am sure you all know what sexually perverse acts are, but I'll give you some examples nonetheless. Pedophilia. Homosexuality. Bestiality. Incest. And so on. And, I too feel it is a good idea not to just call people who like H-scenes "perverts". I would not make that kind of judgment on a person so easily...
  12. It's a slight mistranslation. It should be: Battle of the Boobs II
  13. Yeah, you need a torrent program like micro-torrent (http://www.utorrent.com) Switching system locale changes the language for non-unicode programs. For games written before Unicode, it is necessary to get Japanese characters to show up correctly (because by default it will be trying to display the data as English characters)
  14. It seems you have Really really in your folder, but I didn't see Shuffle. Did you overlook Shuffle? Because it goes before Really, really

    Hentai

Yeah, I saw that one That category, which AniDB calls "borderline hentai", is as close as I'll allow myself to get. In that case, I can also recommend "Nozoki Ana" as pretty entertaining And the old classic "Buttobi CPU" (called "I dream of Mimi" in the U.S.)
  19. I found it interesting what a bitch Megumi was. On a serious note, this is a great suspense show, but I don't think it was meant to be character-driven per se
  20. Just as you said. In the case of Aria, the U.S. cover jackets are made of a flimsier material and the picture, although the same, is sized differently. But at least the edition I saw had a jacket. Many U.S. manga don't even have an outer cover at all. And what's funny is, the price of Japanese manga is <= the price of American manga. U.S. anime DVDs and games are cheaper than Japan's, but manga books are not.
  21. Reading vol. 7, 8 of Aria in, um, Quenya. Taking my time buying and reading these, I don't necessarily want to run it out to soon. It's the sort of manga that lends itself to collecting, what with the elaborate covers and all. The version they sell in the U.S. is not as nice...
  22. Besides the primary radical, don't forget to examine the other elements too. In particular, if the character is a phonologogram, then one of those elements indicates the On-reading, which is a helpful reminder.
  23. I like Tagaini Jisho. Although I don't use it for "learning" per se, but for studying/reviewing/memorizing assistance. For learning, I like Kodansha Kanji Learner's Dictionary. If you don't have that, then read the wikipedia articles on Kanji, Kyouiku Kanji, and Jouyou Kanji. And kanji is significantly easier to learn if you're already reading. So, you don't have to force-feed yourself 2000-odd kanji up front. You can learn them as you go, starting with the most common characters and their most common readings.
  24. This n' is just a colloquially glossed over "no", in the same way that "ja" is a colloquial "de wa". So you can just read it as "Nani ga atta no desu ka?" and "Suzuki-san ga otoshita no de wa nai desu ka?"
