Sorry for chiming in. But you don't have to install mIRC to use IRC. If you have Firefox, you can use ChatZilla. It installed automatically as a plug in and I'd never used IRC before and I figured it out. If you think IRC is obsolete, you could use teamspeak. In fact, you could get on the Lolis/Vns fuwanovel server and I'm pretty sure they will let you chat in a private subsection.

Well, I thought I would never get around to it, but I managed to fill out a MAL! I still have a LOT of work to do. For example, almost nothing's rated. But, at least most of the anime I've seen is now in there. I'll have to add a few stragglers from time to time. Also, I care not for tracking individual episodes as I watch them. I just want to know what I've finished so far.

Do you honestly mean to tell me that you can't see any difference between the design of the older August games such as Princess Holiday and the new ones such as Daitoshokan? Nor can you say that the same characters in the same title have "one face", although as in most vns, there is a certain aesthetic uniformity to the characters (except for abominations like Little Busters)

I just thought of something, I'm grateful for those chapter marks or whatever they are on the modern media player. Because in the old days I had to just skip ahead and try to find the show's beginning. Although, I got pretty good at that actually, after a few episodes I could land right on it. By the way, do you watch previews? I generally don't if it's just a true preview, if it's something unusual like a joke preview I'll watch it, though. If I were one of those folks that watches shows as they air, I'm sure I would watch the previews.

Say, this is a good question, inasmuch as I never gave it much thought... Standard practice is to do what you do, watch it once or twice, unless it changes midway through the show (or, rarely, for every ep.) But it depends on the song, because if I really like the associated song I will watch it almost every time.

Let me give a more thorough background of the video than what is in the 1st post. The website at the beginning of the video is for Akihabara "Soine". URL http://soineya.net I didn't know about it, but apparently they have taken the maid cafe concept up to the next level or something. Customers sleep next to a girl. (I do not know if female customers are welcome here, I didn't bother to check). Now the guy in the video thinks it's a great idea, but too expensive. Those are minutes he's showing on the left. for example 20 min = 3000 yen, 40 = 5000, 60 = 6000, etc. On the right are the options, 1000-2000 yen each, add things like you can stroke the girl's head, or gaze at each other, or get a massage or whatever. Anyway, that is the phenomenon that inspired him to tackle this project. Apparently he has written a blog about how to bring Miku to life through the 5 senses (well 4, he left out taste). After the demo, he tells about using the oculus rift, and the unity 3D sound to make it seem like Miku's voice was actually coming from her direction. As for touch, he could not use the data glove that was pictured for this project. Instead he settled for a dakimakura. In addition, of course you can touch the dakimakura with all of your body, not just your hand as with a data glove. Since Miku is supposed to be 158 cm tall, he chose a 160 cm dakimakura. As to sense of smell, he used that high school girl "perfume". This aspect doesn't sit well with me, but I admit that fabrics have sort of a smell of their own, and I guess that's why he sprayed the pillow with it. The final part says that he did all the motion, sound, software etc. himself and that he may make more apps in the feature. About the voice I mentioned, I was thinking not only of Miku's voice in the demo, but also of the narration of the video being in a synth voice instead of his own. I don't think you would use a vocaloid for that, would you? vocaloids are for singing, you have to provide note data. This is more of an automatic inflection. I'll look around a little and see if I can find out what they're using.

This is obviously a fascinating video which deserves close attention. Also, I guess they will never stop using Idolmaster BGM in videos. Also, I am noticing this trend toward using synthesized voices instead of their own voice. But what software is being used to make the voice?

The first message says that the game couldn't start because it "can't find necessary data" The 2nd one says that it could not read the data, and suggests that the installation data might be corrupted. Put no trust in compatibility modes. XP compatibility mode of Windows 7 has been known to fail on some games that run properly on the real Windows XP. (Just as choosing Win98 compatibility on XP used to fail on games that run on the real Win98)

I see...well, thanks for the info. I wouldn't expect too much of me, because I have a long history of messing around playing shmups but not clearing them on the default difficulty. For example, besides this game, I own the Raiden Project, Gradius 3 4 & 5, Mushihime-sama, Espgaluda, EOSD, Trigger Heart Exelica, Otomedius... not cleared. So, I have learned to be happy with Easy Mode... Hmm, so I should use Shuri and shot mode huh? Seems to run counter to my instinct, but I'll try it... normally I use the girl in green (name escapes me at the moment), and regardless of which element doll I choose, I usually pick "power up the Laser" because I use the laser most of the time. I feel that it prevents me from accidentally crashing into stuff that I'm trying to dodge.

I have been to level 5 on arrange mode and on novice. Not on arcade or 1.5, I start losing it on stage 3, and stage 4 is just silly. In my defense, I'm on VNs 80% of the time and games only 20% of the time. Which character turned out to be the best for you?
